Vietnamese Food Truck Saigon Le Vendeur Starts Slinging Banh Mi in Downtown Austin - Eater Austin

"Healthy fast-casual food company Snap Kitchen did shutter its downtown food truck, though it’s unclear as to when it closed. There are still seven locations in Austin, with the nearest one on West 6th Street in Clarksville. The company had expanded into Chicago, but closed all of its shops late last year. There are also locations in Houston, Dallas, and Philadelphia." - Nadia Chaudhury

We’ve been ordering snap to cover weekday lunches and have been loving it. The meals are full of flavor and well portioned. I’ve been using an app to track and manage daily calorie, protein, etc intake and all I have to do is swipe the bar code and the nutrition info is imported. I also love adding fun beverages and snacks to try out

Google
I really enjoy picking up my weekly meals at Snap Clarksville. The staff are super friendly and helpful, especially Lucy. Being a single person it is really great to know I can easily get reasonably priced and nutritious meals- the good vibes from the staff are a definite bonus!

Google
I get Snap Kitchen delivered weekly, usually trying something new each time, and everything I've ordered has been delicious. Healthy, high quality ingredients in meals that taste legitimately good. They're slightly on the expensive side, but given the quality and convenience I don't mind. It's worth it not to have to think about meals on those extra busy days during the week, without sacrificing nutrition. There are only two minor things I'd want them to improve: less plastic containers and more large meal options. But regardless I'm a happy customer!

Google
Bad experience. 1. Didn't delivered at door as instructed, have to delay the hotel checkout time. 2. Food was cold, not even reheated. rice is not cooked properly, the vegetables looks stale and smells bad, sauce is not fresh, have to throw it totally. 3. Quantity is also little, Didn't gave spoons or any cutlery along.

Hadley McPartlin

Google
I subscribe to weekly delivery’s, they all stay fresh and are delish! Clean ingredients used too with perfect portion sizes:)

Google
I ordered the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and I’m very disappointed. The lettuce is brown and wilted. Unfortunately, I had the salad delivered so I cannot return it. Lesson learned on my part.

Zhane Brantley

Google
I was highly disappointed that the pictures look more apple than the meal delivered. The size was small. The disclaimer about the food being cold should be in bold letters. If I’m getting food delivered why would I want to put it in the microwave. The customer service was poor and I didn’t get what I ordered. Even after they called to correct the order. I was not happy at all. The green tea is unsweetened super gross.

Alex Shkirenko

Google
This isn't really a restaurant,. but a meal kit place. I like that I don't have to sign up for a subscription and can just pick and choose what I want when I want, which makes it pretty rare among meal kits. While they have a few questionable meals, the vast majority are good.

Yelp
I recently picked up an order from Too Good To Go here and unfortunately was majorly disappointed. The food smelled rotten and while it packed a punch with the heat, there was minimal seasoning so it was spicy but not spiced. I've been to other SNAP Kitchens and loved the food, so I'm not sure why the quality here was so much lower than I expected. I understand that the program is to help avoid food waste so the items won't be the freshest, but I still expect tasty food. Maybe it's just the items I received, but I don't think I'll visit this particular location again. That said, I LOVE that everything SNAP Kitchens offer is gluten free, especially since I know I can eat everything they offer. The food is usually delicious, but I'd probably avoid the Bison Quinoa... The location is super convenient with the location and there is short-term parking available both in front and to the side. It almost feels like a little market or corner store with everything being organized and feeling bright and fresh. And again, I love the concept and most of the food, so it was just a miss with this location for me. There's another location in South Austin that is freaking amazing and I've never had issues there.

Yelp
Very nice and easy pick up. Fresh food! Loved the chili and the buffalo burger was tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
Awwww Snap! Started going here in Dallas a few years ago and they have yet to disappoint. Everything I've tried has been delicious, around $7-11 and close to 500 calories. Some Whole Foods in Austin carries them as well. They also have a really interesting snack/beverage selection.

Brandon K.

Yelp
Just found out about this place and it is an absolute gem! Essentially they offer pre-made meals at a super reasonable price and a large variety of different dishes and they're all freshly made and never frozen. Anything that you buy here can be easily heated up in their microwaves and eaten outside their location. If you're looking for a quick and fresh meal without having to go to a sit-down restaurant and wait/pay for service, this is an awesome alternative!

Yelp
I really like Snap Kitchen as a healthy food option. They make it convenient where you can go in, do curbside, pick up, or have it delivered. I love the ranch burger and the Korean meatballs. Someone else complained, but I feel like they have a lot of flavor. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and you can see what they have on their app. They used to have a rewards program that after you spend so much you got an amount off. For some reason they stopped doing that, so minus a star.
google avatar

Michaela P.

Yelp
Is meh a goal? This stuff should come with a free TV tray...Stouffer's would be ashamed to serve this. Got two meals, Korean meatballs and the Buffalo burger. Both were exceptionally mediocre. Except the vegetables. The vegetables were AWFUL! Reminded me of something the lunch lady slung on a tray in 4th grade... For $25 I could've gone to Applebee's and had a margarita on my TV tray.
google avatar

kelsey w.

Yelp
I loved the food and convenience! Just stop by, pick what you want, warm it up, grab your snackies and drinks and youre one your way...and then no one can get mad that you stopped by Lush because it's right next door. Ta dah!

Yelp
Sweet Potato Veggie Benedict: Not good. They add Dijon mustard to the hollandaise and it adds a weird flavor. I don't know why I continue to try their food, it's always a disappointment. They feel inclined to add weird elements to each dish instead of trying to replicate what the dish is supposed to be. The food quality seems to have slipped and their flavors just really miss the note. Most of the stuff I buy ends up as dog food. Also, the service quality in the store has dropped tremendously. The employees don't know anything about the food (West 6th location) and before they used to offer free ones for you to try if you were unsure about a new dish. Now I'm just throwing away $10+ on food I can't stomach to swallow

Abigail K.

Yelp
I appreciate that they continue to change up their meals, but a large reason I get meals from Snap is that they have (well now had) low calorie options. As a female, that's meals under 400 calories. They went from many options below 400kcal to a few to the last time I went, none. It would be great for them to provide a range of meals to suit different audiences / clientele.
google avatar

Yelp
Real talk: I used to think prepared meals were a cop out, because I used to cook a lot. Now that I'm working longer hours at work and trying to eat healthy, Snap Kitchen is a freaking miracle. I recommend the chicken enchiladas, the bison hash, the chili, the sweet potato and sloppy joe, and all of the spaghetti dishes. Everything is gluten free (nice, though I'm not on that bandwagon), and they're now offering a lot more vegetarian options. The spice level is usually pretty high but I usually add some more salsa or hot sauce. The price is pretty reasonable per meal, and comes out to be less than using Blue Apron or another meal prep company. That said, I use the coupons from their weekly emails. If you order online or through the app, they'll have your order ready for pickup, which is nice when I'm in a hurry. I do wish that their containers were compostable, but they're recyclable and I wash and save the containers for leftovers.

Yelp
Still loving my experiences at Snap. I'm sure they've been overwhelmed with the influx of people embarking on their New Year's Resolutions - I came in one afternoon about an hour after the lunch rush and the staff was diligently restocking the shelves with a smile on their faces. I love that they demo new items and give you a coupon/discount toward your next purchase. But I also love that they maintain my favorites. It would take a long time to get tired of the food variations there. I look forward to trying a more selective/strict menu so I can focus on shedding some LBS and envision a healthier lifestyle.

Vicky S.

Yelp
I am trying to eat more well-balanced meals and decided to give Snap a try. The balsamic chicken is so good! I also bought the salmon and have yet to try it, but it looks equally as delicious. I feel the prices are good. When cooking for one, I have a lot of leftovers and just buying the ingredients for these two dishes would require a lot of planning and $. Can't wait to try more options!
google avatar

Rob P.

Yelp
Kind of like the concept of this store. Wasn't really aware of it before but stumbled upon it and got a few meals to make at home. They come in packaging ready for the oven with simple instructions on how to heat it up. I tried the enchiladas (pretty good) and the cauliflower satay (really good). I actually had a third dish but it was so bland I don't even remember what it is!

Yelp
As much as I frown upon health food, credit needs to be given when credit is due. Honestly, I'm not much into health (nor do I have any food allergies), so Snap Kitchen was probably the last place I expected to find myself eating from. But my friend bought me some and though I was honestly reluctant to eat it, I have to say, health food or not, it was objectively VERY GOOD. I got a turkey bolognaise with brown rice noodles and my wife tried the coconut rice sweet chili salmon. That coconut rice is out of this world good - extremely flavorful and better than any pilaf I've had anywhere. The turkey bolognaise also tastes like something that was cooked for hours to get a classically reduced sauce, without the heaviness. Even the brown rice noodle is was pretty good - tasted like real spaghetti and texturally was almost the same (with a bit more grit) - but hey that helps absorb more sauce. So simple ingredients, complex flavors, feel better afterwards. Think if I was looking for a simple/healthy dinner, this would be a good place to go. And if you do have food allergies, Snap Kitchen might be the best thing for you since sliced bread.

Yelp
Obsessed! The food is SO delicious and flavorful and I can trust that everything I'm eating is great quality. The staff is here is SUPER helpful and extremely friendly. I really feel like they truly care about their customers. This has honestly changed my lifestyle in such a positive way and I'm so grateful for Snap!

Yelp
I've gotten quick lunches at Snap for years and supplemented a Whole30 with their delicious foods. I cancelled my subscription, though, because I prefer a ketogenic diet. It was a very sad day. The second I saw the word "keto" in the window, I resubscribed! I cook most of my own meals but it's so nice getting a few fun things that I don't have to cook. I work, I'm a student, and I'm an athlete. I also love the promo codes that give nods to current customers instead of catering exclusively to new members. It's great to see a company promoting a HEALTHY keto diet. It doesn't have to be cheese and red meat -- I just picked up my Snap order of jars of bone broth, probiotic snacks, coffee, yogurt, salmon, breakfast platters. Yum yum! Also, Kim is completely rad, she needs to be knighted or given a paid vacation to the Bahamas or maybe a puppy. She knows what tastes best and what is new. I have a medical condition and when I mentioned it, she had recommendations that I was really excited about, and no one knows my body like I do. Really cool to shop somewhere with such knowledgeable and genuinely cool employees. I decided to get a few more things and Kim threw my order together while I waited, despite the New Year rush. If you like Snap, follow them on Instagram -- gorgeous pictures, lots of engagement, and you never miss out on new items and updates. Keep up the good work, Snap! So pleased that you are able to provide meals for me again.

Yelp
Really impressed with a lady named Morgan who works at this location. Great customer service. Thanks, Morgan!

Yelp
Make this part of your weekly routine. Simple, fresh, easy, affordable. The staff is helpful and friendly. The color coded approach makes discovery easy.

Yelp
It totally baffles me that Snap Kitchen gets such good reviews. I think it's a reflection, more than anything, that Austin simply lacks better choices for convenient and healthy delivery. I order Snap a lot, simply because they spell out all their nutrition facts and have a simple, convenient interface for ordering, and delivery is pretty much guaranteed. But that's where the pluses often end. Sometimes the food is good. But often, it tastes like it's about to go "off" (especially those that are marked from their Chicago facility. Why? Why should anything here come from their Chicago facility?) If I order a dish with spice, it can be off the charts spicy one time, and not too spicy the next. And while delivery is always ensured, it's also often very, very late. Sometimes it comes in a flash. I feel like they've changed delivery services several times. Again, why? And what's with the awful inventory management -- they are always out of lots of food by 5 or 6 p.m. That's really frustrating for consumers, and it's just bad business. Out of stocks mean missed sales. Someone needs to come in and offer better-tasting food with more quality controls to the Austin market.

Yelp
I recently went and it was really great. The guy at the counter was very friendly and he helped me set up an account. That way I can pre order my meals and then simply pick them up. He also let me know that I can choose a plan depending on my needs and just pick it up. I've only had one meal so far (the spaghetti) and it was delish. Can't wait to try the other meals! Will definitely be back :)

Yelp
Great place when you are in a hurry and need something healthy and yummy! They have lots of choices to satisfy any of your needs : gluten free, paleo friendly, low carb, etc... They also have grass fed beef dishes which is something I always look forward to, their meatballs were delish and everything I tried there was great! Only downside is the place doesn't really have nice seating area but other than that I highly recommend it!

Yelp
These guys are fantastic - and I am not just talking about the fresh, healthy food! The customer service I have experienced has been nothing short of spectacular. They work with me to get meals replaced and gladly refund my money when they can't. They are a true customer-oriented company and it has been a pleasure buying food with them. I look forward to my continued patronage of Snap Kitchen in Clarksville!

Yelp
Excellent food and service. When I needed to push back a delivery one day they were very accommodating with the delivery driver following my instructions perfectly. The food has all been outstanding so far with great macros.

Yelp
SK, where have you BEEN all my life? (sorry Slipknot, you're just okay) For years it has boggled the mind how Austin, an unofficial health capital of Texas could maintain such svelte citizens when a host of cupcakeries, tacoseries, pizzerias and dive bars conspire to undo that morning 3 miler you just worked so hard on. And don't get me started on the more explicit offenders: Gourdoughs, La Boite Café, Tiff's Treats, Casino el Camino, I'm glaring at you. This calls for proportion patrol. Granted, neighborhood watch committees have been organized like Whole Foods, Central Market, Casa de Luz, select juice bars and the too-feeble-to-fight (Counter Culture, I applaud you) to battle these so-bad-they're-good miscreants. But when the few stand against the many, it's only a matter of time before someone eats a giant doughnut. Enter Snap Kitchen: Spring has returned in Narnia, and there is new hope for health enthusiasts desperately fighting off those hole-y, syrupy, sweet, juicy, palatable offenders. And it's fresh fast food!? Lies. Nein, frauline: this is primarily a curb-side pick-up establishment that offers daily-prepared, proportion-controlled, nutrition-labeled health foods for all. They offer catering, registered dietitian consulting services, and seem absolutely psyched about getting involved in Austin's green-living realm. You go girlfriend. Gluten/Dairy-Free Compañero [GDFC] and I checked out their 6th/Lamar location, inhabiting a sliver of shopping center, just behind Amy's Ice Cream. Keep walkin', sister. Immaculate establishment indoors. GDFC had their gluten-free meatloaf (which he hadn't been able to eat in years), and I tried their curry chicken salad with greek yogurt and golden raisins, making for a mighty sweet afternoon lunch. And their gluten-free cranberry pancakes I had a week prior? Taste explosion. Bonuses: - Everything in their 6th street store is prepared in their Triangle flagship location on a daily basis, and delivered here on a daily basis. - They are serious about expiration dates, to ensure all the food is as fresh as can possibly be. - Frequent om nomers card is in the makings, earning you points redeemable for good things. Good things are so good. - Their green-living concept is also applied in their 6th street store: utensils are made of *potato*, making them biodegradable. - Microwave available for re-heating whatever you choose. - You could probably use Amy's outdoor patio seating if it's not occupied and you wanted to enjoy the breezy, sunny weather outside, which won't last for long. So sit outside while you can, before the Central Texas oven bears its wrath. But the smartest idea they utilize, as far as I'm concerned, is one of separately organized menus according to your dietary restriction on their website. So, are you a righteous gluten-free, non-dairy, sodium-adverse rocker who likes to rock out? Then dude: you should SO tap their Chocolate Mousse Stuffed Quinoa Crepes.

Yelp
I have tried 3 other ready to eat healthy meal spots and Snap Kitchen is by far the tastiest and offers the best variety. This week I redeemed a groupon for Snap Kitchen bought 7 items and all of them were good. Snap Kitchen has a good variety of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. For breakfast I really like the apple oatmeal and the chili and eggs. The apple oat meal is a very tasty mix of steal cut oats, chunks of baked apples, crushed walnuts & palm sugar. The chili and eggs is made up of egg whites, ground turkey, Black Beans, kidney beans, peppers, onions, Tomatoes, Grated Cheddar. For lunch/dinner I enjoyed the snap veggie maki roll (vegan), it is a little sweet but well balanced with the red chili agave dressing. Best snacks are thunder heart Bison meatballs in spicy marinara & the Truffled Quinoa "Mac & Cheese". The Mac & Cheese is to die for!

C L.

Yelp
The food is legitimately good! I used to get meals from here years ago, and recently started doing so again--I think they have made some real improvements, they are way better than they used to be.

Yelp
Can't beat the convenience and quality of ingredients of their meals. Snap kitchen consistently saves us week after week with our busy lives and helps us stay on track nutritionally. I have been following a paleo-ish diet for several years and it's so nice to be able to take the prep work out of the equation without compromising on quality. Also can't beat their customer service. Fast, friendly help every time we come in. Recently had a couple of meals that had spoiled before their expiration date and Nick and the whole team were very accommodating and did everything they could to make it right! Love this location! :)

Yelp
I am more than disappointed, having received the worst customer service I have ever experienced with staff representative, Mary, as I have been a longtime customer of this particular location. To sum it up, upon calling to ask questions pertaining to "pre-order" menu items, and being given 2 different answers, Mary rudely commented, "what part are you not understanding? I will get someone else who can assist you." Mary then proceeded to leave me on hold for approximately 5 minutes, wherein I gave up and disconnected the call. I would, however, like to add that upon calling back to receive answers to my questions, Megan went above and beyond. Hurt and disappointed with the customer service I received from Mary, I will take my business to another location before I walk into this one again. Perhaps a retraining in courtesy and customer service could be used with Mary.

Yelp
Snap Kitchen makes healthy food that is pretty tasty. Is it as good as the unhealthy version? No, but one cannot expect it to be. I have bought their meals on numerous occasions when I just do not feel like cooking or when my hubby is out of town. I like the veggie lasagna and the chili the best. My hubby finds the chili lackluster, but I like it. Some of the chicken dishes are yummy (the one with butternut squash). I do not care for their beef dishes and think the tofu ones are just fair. I do like their quinoa stir fry. The staff has always been very friendly. Also, they have easy parking in their side parking lot. This is a good choice if you are trying to eat healthy without wanting to cook.

Yelp
I am thoroughly disappointed with the constant changing of the menu for the worse. Not only have you got rid of some great menu items you have added worse ones with higher calorie and fat content. For instance, the new breakfast item- the Spinach and Goat Cheese Frittata- is an absolute joke! Not only is it tiny, it is high in fat and hasn't got much value to it. The goat cheese scramble was my favorite menu item with the least fat and calories, most filling and the most delicious out of all of the other breakfast items. I am also not a fan of all the meals being one size. It was great to have an option of different sizes depending on the time of the day and the amount of calories you want to eat. I am not the only one who has said this. My husband was very disappointed that the sushi that was offered for a very limited time was pulled out pretty quickly for no reason at all. The staff were also confused because they said it was a very popular item. I have been a valued and regular customer of Snap Kitchen for years and it has had its ups, but recently it has been having its downs. It seems to me that Snap Kitchen is taking advantage of customers who will undoubtedly fall in to the trap of buying these items for convenience even though they are more expensive than they ever were. This is probably because there is not really anywhere else in Austin that offers ready-made meals that are relatively healthy (although to be honest a lot go these meals are relatively high in fat and calories for the size of the meals).Prices have increased and keep on increasing. One positive is the new snacks on the menu. However, the main reason I go to Snap Kitchen is for the meals and not the snacks. I can buy snacks at any grocery store.
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
I loved the chicken salad with cranberries at Snap Kitchen. It was the perfect snack and must have been popular since it was frequently sold out. It has now been replaced it with a new chicken salad that tastes watered down and costs an additional $2 for three cherry tomatoes and a few almonds. I tried it but definitely not a fan. I'm hoping the old chicken salad will come back! I've talked to several others who feel the same way.

Yelp
Very interesting place! Basically, it is a store with a plethora of pre-made meals in convenient microwavable plastic containers - breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks! You can use their microwaves to eat stuff immediately, or you can just buy all your meals for the week to take home! Everything in the store is gluten free except for the pita chips. The containers are clearly labeled and color coded for type of protein (meat, chicken, fish, etc) as well as the portion size and nutrition info. Great for people who are watching their calories or trying to eat healthier overall. One guy came in there and literally bought all of his meals for the next week! While I expected it to be crazy expensive, it was more affordable than I thought! Especially when I thought about all the money I've wasted on frozen meals for grab-and-go lunches - this was way healthier and more delicious!! Loved the lemon ricotta pancakes (yes, gluten free!). No place to sit inside but this location has a patio with benches right next door. Please come to Los Angeles!!!!

Yelp
Food: Outstanding Drink: Even Better Service: Good Ol'Texas Southern Hospitality Atmosphere: It's like a dream fast food place... everything is healthy Ideal place to go if you're in a hurry and want to eat healthy. I dreamt of places like this ten years ago and viola, dreams do come true. Something for everyone.. meaning the Paleo, the vegan, the vegatarian, even the cricket eating lovers--(they carry cricket flour based protein bars). I had one of their breakfast choices: the sweet potato and veggies scramble, for lunch and it was sooo good! Even reheated, I could not stop until I finished every bite. They had a lot of other desserts, snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner choices too. Too much too choose from... too little time. Progressive, healthy and great sized meals. Meaning they are a good size where you're not wanting to take a siesta, rather you're able to move within a half hour to get on with your day. I love Austin! I love the sweet demeanor and generally nice attitude, especially at this place. So friendly and helpful. It's like a breath of fresh air. They've got a great selection of cold-pressed juices here and even some cold-pressed coffee and coffee shakes. Yum. I would return over and over again, if I was a local. Love this place. This particular location was easy to get to even during a weekday at lunch time. There was a private lot and also street parking, plenty, as far as I could tell. Enjoy!

Yelp
I don't write a lot of reviews, but I really have to complement Snap Kitchen. It's hard to do salmon right...much less mass-produced salmon. However, their grilled salmon with warm kale salad is amazing, and worth the $10 for a small or $13 for a medium. They truly use high-quality salmon and it's always delicious. I've had salmon from other places in the past and it's disgusting. They have a ton of other great meals as well. Thank you, Snap, for not skimping on quality and still providing affordable, healthy meals.

Yelp
Even more delicious than I expected! Good value, satisfying, healthy entrees for a decent price. The packaging is convenient, the directions are simple and clear.

Yelp
I have to give these guys props. I tried them a few years ago and it was meat heaven. They've really branched out and added some amazing plant powered meals. and IMO, really improved the flavor profile of their foods. I stopped in recently and got the hoppin jack, the chicken broccoli hash, the lentil bowl, the turkey chili and the "fettucine" and broccoli alfredo. They were all great health wise and flavor profile wise- ESPECIALLY the chicken broccoli hash, that was crazy yum- and it looks like they source what they can locally now. Its still a little pricey for me and my modest income to buy for me and hubby regularly, but hubby is out of town right now so I am treating myself to lots of tasty Snap kitchen.

Yelp
I'm in love with their cranberry pecan chicken salad! Surprisingly very tasty without trying too hard with ingredients. I usually like HEB or whole foods version of this okay, but this was a treat! The carrots and celery with ranch was amazing! The ranch is coconut based and even tastier than regular ranch. For less than 400 calories, for lunch, filling without leaving me tired and stuffed. I have had their beef lasagna and spaghetti before, and it also was filling without leaving me feeling heavy. Their salads are good as well. The food is clearly marked with calories, ingredients, and prices. The staff is super friendly and nice. I went around 2 p.m., so was able to park in front. May be harder during lunch and after work traffic. Not cheap, but for downtown Austin, average price. If not in downtown, I feel like the extra dollar or two is worth it.

Yelp
After working in the neighborhood for the past 6 months, it's always nice to have a place like Snap so close by. I usually get overwhelmed by the choices, but I've never been disappointed. I don't feel guilty about what I'm eating and I love that I have an excuse to pop into Waterloo Records.

Yelp
This is by far the best in the long laundry list of recent pop up - ready to go, healthy meal places in Austin. Plain and simple it's the combination of VARIETY, TASTE, and plenty of STOCKED OPTIONS. Without all 3, then well you get 4 or 3 stars at best. Some places stock a lot of variety, but the taste is very similar. Like the chicken in the wrap is the same tasting chicken in a chicken veggie stir fry bowl and chicken tacos. Boring. Some places have some good tasting dishes, but the variety is lacking OR there is barely anything to choose from. Lame. Snap Kitchen however has lots of variety and nothing tastes the same. Granted I haven't tried everything, but I got a total of 4 things: the Paleolithic Chicken (which I guess follows a caveman diet mentality), Vegatable lasagna (made completely of layers of veggies, no pasta, gluten free), a ginger chicken stir fry (amazingly flavorful, made with quinoa instead of rice), and a bison quinoa hash. Every entree exceeded my expectations. Packed with lots of flavor (not salt). I plan to make another trip back. The Ahi Sushi grade tuna nicoise salad and Vietnamese Flank steak lettuce wraps are next on my hit list. Kudos goes out to Living Social for offering a coupon deal to entice me into this little gem. Viva la Snap!

Yelp
In an effort not to have to think about lunch, and since I usually work through it, I decided I'd try Snap Kitchen and see how I liked it. I picked up a couple of small meals on Sunday to take to work for a couple of days. The first was the Bison Quinoa Hash. It's delicious! Spicy, filling and interesting, a small kept me full until I got home from work. Next up, the Sambal Tofu. Delicious and unbelievably filling for only 150 calories! Next time I'd eat it over brown rice to bulk it up a bit more, but the flavors were great and I liked all of the veggies included with it. Since the first two were a hit, I decided to go pick up three more after work one day. I simply looked on their website, picked three things that sounded good, and called them with my order. I paid for it on the phone, so that when I left the office I just had to call them and let them know I was on my way. When I arrived, they came out with my food bagged up and ready, and I was off! Today I tried the Greek Chicken Salad Wrap and it was really good! It's a little small, but paired with some almonds, it made a good lunch and should keep me full until late this afternoon. Besides good tasting food, Snap gives you all of the nutritional information right on the package. It's easy to enter that into whatever nutrition tracking tool you use like Spark People or Weight Watchers and save the item for future use. And as for ingredients, all of them taste like they are super fresh and high quality. Snap is a great alternative for when you don't want to think about it, but want healthy options at your finger tips. I can tell I'll be a customer for quite a while.

Yelp
Snap Kitchen is one of the things I love about Austin when being on-the-go where I don't have time to eat healthy at home. You can get a variety of fresh, ready-to-eat-refridgerated foods like vegetarian choices, gluten free and best of all Paleo selections!! They have more than one microwave available to heat up your food along with plastic ware and napkins. In addition they have juices, water, and healthy snack options. The prices are good for the quality you are paying. Only downfall about this Snap Kitchen is the fact they are located next to Lush and I have to resist myself from wanting to stop in and shop for bath bombs every time I go.

Yelp
What Monica said. I don't got much more to say. I do wish a few of the items were a bit cheaper, but overall they are comparable to some of the pre-packaged take out items from the Whole Foods fridged section (like say, WF spring or sushi rolls). Also good (from the Snap Kitchen web site): "We are happy to deliver your order to your car at any of our locations. If you're * in a hurry * have kids in tow * can't find a parking spot. We are fanatical about customer service. This is just our little version of drive-thru! Pre-order online or by phone, let us know you want curbside service, and your order will be ready when you pull up. You can also call us from the car with an order when you arrive at any location, and we'll pull it together and run it out to your car in a snap!"

Yelp
Purchased a parfait through Uber Eats and I received it fairly quickly but I was a bit taken aback by it. Maybe it was the description on the app but I wasn't expecting the chia seeds at all. Not that it was a bad thing it just surprised me. Overall it was good. The pistachio and chocolate nibs were a very nice touch although I was thrown off by the strawberry that was hard to mix in from the bottom. It was more tart than I expected but still pretty good. A nice amount of sweetness overall to settle any cravings one might have. If you want to satisfy a sweet tooth and not feel too guilty I definitely recommend the vegan parfaits!

Yelp
I surprisingly really like this place. It's ideal for someone who is single, busy and wants to eat healthy. oh yeah the quinoa mac and cheese - lordy, I want to fill a hot tub with this stuff and roll around in it.....but I digress When all these "healthy fast food" places emerged, I rolled my eyes, thinking 'how frivolous.' I really do enjoy cooking alot and eating healthy. However, when work and life gets in the way, it was becoming way too easy to eat out or even eat fast food and junk. I initially thought this was pricey ($5-$11 an entree, depending on size and content), but if I buy about a week's worth of food, it ends up about $100, which is probably what I would spend in a week, and this is less than when I eat out. Also, when I go to Whole Foods for a quick meal, I always end up spending $14. I am a foodie snob, so was surprised that food tastes good! I have my personal food preferences; they use a lot of sweet potatoes, probably because they are so good for you, but I'm not a big sweet potato fan, but it's not their fault! They also use a lot of quinoa, which I LOVE, but I find it hard to cook right, so they big points on this. The food is surprisingly filling. They boxes look small, and I initally got larges of everything - but it was too much! It's plenty of food, so actually a good deal. I wouldn't feed a family from here, but I'm single, so I know it's hard to cook for one. I also like that these are way healthier (lot less sodium and chemicals) than those frozen pre-packaged dinners. I also like how the dishes incorporate vegetables that I probably wouldn't even bother cooking for myself1 (squash, green beans, lentils). My personal faves are the quinoa truffle mac and cheese, the turkey chili, all the salmon dishes (surprising because I think salmon is easy to overcook), beef tenderloin. I honestly thought the pork tenderloin was little dry. The parking is very easy at the 6th street location. I only wish they would recycle/reuse the plastic containers. I have tons of them at home that I'm trying to reuse. So in summary, although a little pricey, it's a good place for convenient, fairly tasty, healthy food.

Yelp
I went back and gave Snap Kitchen another shot because of some fantastic engagement on the part of the GM over there. He saw my mediocre experience the last time I went and sent me a gift card. I'm glad I went back. I had the bison quinoa hash and loved it. I've been back a couple times since. Their options are healthy, well-regimented and tasty. When you heat it up, you would never know they refrigerate it after they cook it. The only thing is that I am almost always still hungry after I eat there, and the large portions are too expensive for a lunch break meal (so I always get medium). Thanks, Snap Kitchen, for engaging with me on Yelp and getting me to come back. I'm glad I did.

Yelp
Just received an order from Snap Kitchen that I didn't order. Trying to do the right thing I offered to take the food to correct location. Response from the manager of the 6th Street location on 6/8/20 at 530p (name refused), "oh, yeah we use a 3rd party so thanks that works for us." - Please consider the restaurants you support that teach their managers to operate with a lack of professionalism and care.

Yelp
Snap Kitchen is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and more. I use the Snap App. I can place my order and have it delivered (free delivery on app) to my work or house. I can pick up my order in store if I am out shopping. The food is delicious and healthy. They offer all sorts of prepackaged freshly made meals which included: dairy free, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, paleo, and basically any other dietary option. My favorites are the Chicken Enchiladas, Nona Lim Thai Curry bone broth, the chicken with black rice, lasagna. and the steel cut oatmeal with strawberries (seriously amazing).

Yelp
If you're counting calories, avoiding gluten, or just trying to eat healthier on the run, then I highly recommend adding Snap Kitchen to your list of go-to spots. The chili and eggs plate is a stand-out dish; it's great for satisfying a craving for hearty/spicy foods without breaking the caloric bank. The chicken spring rolls served with a sesame dressing are also really tasty. You can also get several dishes in various sizes, which makes it easier to try new things in their varying lineup of offerings. The only strike against Snap Kitchen is due to their prices. While I realize that one of the unfortunate side effects of using high quality ingredients that are freshly prepared is increased cost, I can't justify spending that much on a day to day basis. Come here when you're stuck in a rut when it comes to healthy food ideas, or if you recently inherited some cash from that kooky aunt that you forgot you had.

Yelp
Snap Kitchen has really good lunch entrees. The breakfasts used to be my favorite but they got rid of the different quinoa options for breakfast and what is left is just bleh to me. The spaghetti turkey bolognese and the grass-fed beef hash with quinoa is really good. Their snacks are excellent. I wish that they would bring more breakfast options back.
