3 Day Trips from Key West: Islamorada, Dry Tortugas & Key Largo | Condé Nast Traveler

"While Snappers has long been a Key Largo icon, it’s also a popular stopping point for travelers making their way from Miami to Key West (it’s about a 90-minute drive from South Beach), so prepare for a crowd and plan your trip accordingly. The waterfront setting, old-school décor, and history of the place make it rather boisterous regardless of whether you stop in for lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch (which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features live jazz plus a build-your-own-Bloody Mary bar). The food leans Caribbean, and the menu changes slightly each day based on what's fresh—the hallmark of any great seafood joint—but you can't miss if you order the gator bites (lest there be any confusion, made from actual gator). If you’ve spent the day doing some fishing of your own, they’ll also cook up your personal catch of the day." - Jennifer M. Wood, Terry Ward

Where to Stop and Eat on the Drive From Miami to Key West | Eater Miami

"For my last stop before returning to reality I choose Snappers Oceanfront Restaurant and Bar (139 Seaside Ave, Key Largo) when I want something a bit more upscale, enjoying dishes like wahoo ceviche and shellfish scampi, and I can also order Snappers’ tuna nachos or the beer-battered mahi sandwich." - Amber Love Bond

Aaaaaaaah, YES! Blue sky, fluffy clouds, perfect temperature under a thatched roof, enjoying ocean breezes. Pelicans diving for lunch as we listen to chill tunes and do the same. Very friendly staff was happy to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied. Absolutely everything we ordered was wonderful, fresh, well prepared and presented. The lobster roll was the best I've ever had outside of Maine with huge chunks of tender lobster! The fish and chips was light, delicate and perfectly moist. The chicken sandwich was delicious and perfectly cooked. Folks who rave about the key lime pie are not wrong! Also, highly recommend the toasted coconut pineapple ice cream!! We'll have to stop here again on our way back north!! The thoroughly positive experience makes it well worth the $$. Thank you for the great meal!

Google
Some of the best of the best that Key Largo has to offer. We ride the bike over and stop in at least once a month. The food is always delicious. The cocktails are always good, The scenery in the back bar or upper Tiki next to Greatness. The prices are always fair. We Love this pub

Google
We sat outside by the water as the weather was beautiful which accompanied our visit and delicious meal. From the moment we sat down, David our server, was attentive and courteous. He brought our drinks, appetizers and meal with a smile. Shout out to the amazing executive chef Steve! He spoke to some of the guests and treated us like family. The food was delicious and great portion sizes. We will definitely visit again. You should stop by too!

We visited here during the week at around 1PM to have lunch. The place was moderate ly busy, but we were still able to be seated quickly, even getting to opportunity to choose our table if preference. The service was great and the food was fresh and delicious! The atmosphere was amazing, sat outside and enjoyed the breeze and the view of ocean. I'm definitely going back there the next time I'm in Key Largo.

Google
An absolutely amazing dining experience! The food was incredible, with the lobster mac and cheese and the HUGE shrimp burger being must-try standouts all worth the price. The location is perfect for families, sitting right by the water with an amazing view, you can even rent jet skis! To top it all off, the service was impeccable. Our waiter was fantastic, and we even had the pleasure of meeting the head chef Steve, who was super accommodating and ensured all our needs were met. Highly recommend!

Google
Lea spoke spanish and Brandy with Y spoke english. They were both helpful and hospitable. Thank you for your service. We ordered the Captains Platter - a massive seafood explosion. Cocktails are hand crafted and good. No THC drinks here while otber spots offer them.

Google
Lia was an amazing server. She was very knowledgable, very sweet, and extremely quick in retrieving our order but at the same time took her time to listen and explain and make us feel at home. The food, WOW! I ordered hog fish, blackened. Absolutely to die for. And dont get me started on the view, breathtaking. Definately coming back. 10 stars

Google
Beautiful waterfront restaurant! Upper deck Tiki Bar provided a Beautiful biew, away from the Too Loud Live Music Speaker!!! The Hogfish was luke warm and fair, vegtables and mashed potatoes made the meal good, but not $44 market price good. My Captain/Diet Coke appeared watered down. The crabcakes were the best part of the Lunch. Maybe not worthy of $127 for 1 app, Hogfish, 2 beers & watered down captain & diet coke. Overall, we rated it a 3 out of 5.

Yelp
We love Snapper's!! A Key Largo "Must go to"! They typically do a Bloody Mary bar (during busy season) but we're here in October and they didn't have the whole bar. Still, we ordered bloody Mary's and they were very good! I LOVE the Mediterranean salad with added blackened chicken. The citrus dressing is delicious. But the dish we'd recommend you must try is the hog fish. You can only get it in certain areas, it's rare to see it on a menu (non existent in Ohio) and it's so good! And all the delicious food and drinks pair perfectly with a lovely ocean view.

Yelp
Honestly, a tad disappointed with my Snappers visit. I was in Key Largo for the weekend for a wedding. On the non-activity days we explored a little bit and I had been craving a whole fried fish. Given the name, we decided to come to Snappers. It's a nice locale with a nice outdoor view. You could see some big fish by their dock which is a cute touch and entertaining if you want to take a quick glance while waiting for your food to arrive. However, the service was very lacking. It took a long time to be checked on even after our initial greeting when we had not even placed an order yet. There was a small issue with our order and we asked to swap it with a different entrée, - we decided a burger would be better. This simple swap took over 30 minutes while we had already been waiting 30+ minutes after we were seated to get the initial food. I think that the server might've forgotten to place the order or had forgotten to go check to pick it up after we asked about it, it took still another 15 minutes for it to reach the table. We were on a time crunch so it was not convenient for us. By the time the replacement entrée had reached the table, the entire entrée that we had kept at the table was already finished, all while the replacement meal had just arrived. I really enjoyed my whole snapper. However, it was very overpriced, $70, for ~2pound fish. This is a lot higher than even nice downtown upscale prices in Fort Lauderdale or Miami. I'm used to paying maybe $40 for a casual restaurant like this. I figured " while in Rome." because I had this fixation on getting a whole fried fish while I was still in the Keys and this was our last day in the area. The whole experience just took longer than necessary, especially because we had a long drive back home. It would've been nice to receive a complementary discount or dessert for the large wait time. Alas , the food was good, ambience is nice but it was overpriced for my taste , dragged down by the service and ticket time on the food. Unfortunately, I cannot give Snappers a high rating at this time, but I hope to retry them in the future for a better experience.

Yelp
This restaurant offers an amazing atmosphere with incredible views from its outdoor seating. We were seated right away and we also had our waitress at our table right to take our drink orders and our food orders when we were ready and everything came out quickly. We had drinks and beers. The beers were served in a glass but they were not cold as I would prefer a beer to be. They had a good variety of choices on their menu. We ordered a mahi fish sandwich, mahi tacos and a seafood basket and shared their fish dip. The food was ok, nothing amazing. I thought it was over cooked and over fried. They had lizards running all over the patio that surprisingly are not afraid of people and are looking for food to fall from the tables. We were so entertained by this. They reminded me of seagulls waiting for food. Overall they have a great atmosphere. It is a relaxing place to sit outdoors and to enjoy family and friends. The noise level was perfect and they have a very friendly staff.

Yelp
Attended an event here last night at the "Turtle Club". That is upstairs in a separate area/building and not the main restaurant. Great views from here of the ocean! Bar service was great! The had the normal servers bring endless trays of tasty appetizers around. Only thing lacking were any seats. They literally provided one table and 8 chairs, along with three high tops. I'd guess around 60 people attended. I had not been here in years and was glad I went. I definitely like the physical improvements to the Turtle Club.

Yelp
Good food, decent prices for the experience, and service was great. We came on a Sunday and got a seat outside after a short wait. There was hardly anyone dining inside as it was a really nice day out and the inside vibe does not even compare to sitting outside so I definitely recommend coming on a nice day. I really liked the variety of food options on the menu and they were all reasonably priced. Our food was really fresh and tasty. And our service was quick but not rushed. A great option of somewhere to stop if you are driving through or visiting key largo!

Yelp
Tried this place for lunch because it was next to my stay. Its right on the oceanfront and has really nice relaxed vibes! Service is great. Food is good too. Mainly seafood. I am not a fan of sea food but this was so freah and well made. Loved it. Decor is great too and you can easily get table. Place is busy though which shows it is a local hit spot too. Must try if visiting keys.

Marci M.

Yelp
If you like jambalaya, and you want it with lots of flavor, Chef Steve's got your dish!! All I can say is I'm definitely coming back! I may even order one to go! We ordered the rice served separately so we could enjoy every single bite. I would have added a picture of our blackened mahi appetizer but we devoured it before I could grab a picture. Oh, and the view?! Waterfront in the Keys? Need I say more?!

Olenka H.

Yelp
Everything was horrible food and service. Food and mainly bar manager service and general manager. Both extremely rude.

Yelp
What a great place to unwind while dining, great water views, live music that was fitting the Florida keys vibe and as far as the food, the fish dip and the conch fritters were amazing. The grouper covered in a red pepper caper sauce was average but they should scale back on the red peppers, way too much. The server we had named David was the best, he was very attentive and very proud of the establishment, he made the whole experience beyond expectations. Don't miss out on this trinket of gold.

Yelp
We went to Sappers for Sunday brunch, and, once again the food and service were exceptional. We made a reservation and then arrived a teeny bit early, but were met with a super nice host and server. We noted on the way in that there was live music - score! And, even before our food arrived the executive chef stopped by to great us! Really a nice touch. I had a brunch mimosa and the eggs Benedict - the home fries were super good. Wayne had a Bloody Mary and a crab cake Benedict - I think it is called the Neptune. Note that we both like to get hollandaise on the side - I find a little goes a long way. The brunch was good, and we finished our cocktails over in front of the musician.

Yelp
Fun waterfront spot in Key Largo. We stopped here for a bite on our way back from Key West and this was the perfect finish to our getaway! Food was delicious. I had the shrimp patty burger and honestly, was blown away by how much I enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend going for seafood items on the menu but my husband had a chicken sandwich and he enjoyed it as well. Lavender lemonade cocktail was perfectly refreshing for the hot summer weather. The waterfront views are beautiful. Definitely stop-worthy in Key Largo!

Yelp
Pulling up, we almost left but boy am I glad we didn't. Walking through the dining room to the outdoor patio, it's stunning. They had live music and he was terrific. Food was very good. We had the mahi bites for an app and they were so tender and good. I had the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Our non-alcoholic drinks were refilled without asking (a sign of excellent service). Very impressed! Great experience!

Yelp
My wife and I were traveling from Key West to Miami and decided to spend and evening in Key Largo. Due to our checkout time in Key West and check in time in Key Largo we had a few hours to kill. We decided to visit Snappers in Key Largo for a few cocktails and dinner. When we arrived Brandy our bartender was very friendly and welcoming. When the 2nd floor Tiki Bar opened at 4:00 we decided to pay our tab inside and have dinner overlooking the water. We sat a two seats at the bar. The view was spectacular. We were not acknowledged by Mary our new bartender for approximately 15 minutes. She was dismissive and aloof. Sadly so were the other patrons. We were stared at I guess for sitting amongst the regulars. I have never been treated so rudely by other patrons in my entire 40 years of adult life. The food was great. The people were rude and unwelcoming. I was never so happy to leave an establishment.

Yelp
This place was awful the service was Terrible took is one hour to he the check. The food was alright average if anything. The ambiance was fine but I did see some lizards attacking the locals.

Yelp
Snappers is the place to enjoy cold cocktails and hot fresh made food. Seems to be a local favorite hang out with a lots of beer choices too! Had a quick bite while listening to the band and enjoying the Florida sunshine Large menu to choose from We had a large salad topped with grilled fish and the alfredo pasta topped with blackened shrimp. Will stop back by on our way back though town to see our new favorite restaurant and server Nathalie

Yelp
Awesome environment for a large family dinner, only waited about 15 mins at the tiki bar. Grouper tacos were tasty! Had loaded baked potato as side which was mediocre. Great service from our waiter David.

Yelp
My wife and I recently had an excellent experience at Snappers in Key Largo. We were greeted by the smiling manager Keith, who sat us outback on the waterfront deck. The live music, tiki bar and atmosphere reminded us of why we love the Florida Keys. Our server Dave, was thorough with the new menu and kept a relaxing island pace throughout the evening. We started with the mahi bites appetizer. My wife is adventurous and raved about the flavor of the teriyaki steak kabobs. I happily sank into the fish sandwich. The food was excellent and we look forward to revisiting Snappers. Highly recommend stopping by for a true Florida Keys experience.

Yelp
This a a nice out of the way spot Oceanside in Key Largo. We stopped for lunch today. There is a nice brunch menu, but we'll try that next time. We had the dolphin sandwich and a shrimp po boy. Both were delicious. There was live music which was nice as well. We'll be back.

Yelp
A great setting on the water for cocktails lunch or dinner , we arrived around 6 pm and waited just a few minutes at the bar for our table on the water . Fresh mahi bites to start along with regular and jalapeño margaritas , both options very yummy and the mahi bites so fresh not frozen and you can tell the difference in the tenderness of the mahi. Dinner was seafood scampi chucked full of mussels scallops and shrimp in a delightful lemon garlic sauce and pasta, along with hogfish with their special prep with Parmesan and pepper relish along with lemon butter , so good , accompanied by a baked sweet potato as the starch. We ended with key lime pie made in house and deliciously tart and creamy with a great crust , 2nd best key lime we had on our trip through the keys ( shout out to SS Wreck for the best) Great dinner and service !

Yelp
food took 2 and a half hours to come out and looked like freezer food. what the heck. place seemed all over the place and no seating. the people next to us got a whole cheese and crackers board complimentary and got there 45 minutes after us and we got nothing.
google avatar

Yelp
Brian our server.he was top notch. Food outstanding. Service next level. Brian our server was second to none! Great views with water front views.

Yelp
Great waterfront spot! All the Florida Keys restaurants have such good space! We sat out on the back deck right on the water and had a really nice lunch on our way south to Islamorada. Service was friendly. The bar area is substantial. The oceanside views are awesome. We watched the jet skis take off while we ate salads and fresh fish. This will become a part of our Florida Keys travel routine, definitely!

Jay K.

Yelp
We enjoyed our evening last night at snappers. We had the mahi fish sandwich, the grouper, fish sandwich, and the crabcakes, all very good. Our waitress was Mia and she was wonderful. Great ambience, overlooking the water and excellent music. Really enjoyed the musician.
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
Snappers is a great spot right on the water with plenty of outside and bar seating. Live music made our dinner extra fun. The key lime colada was so good!! Fried coconut shrimp was a huge portion and delicious and fresh. Great prices for the area as well.
google avatar

Deniece W.

Yelp
We stopped in for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. Thankfully it wasn't busy, but I can tell during high tourist season, you'll probably need to make a reservation. We sat out back on their patio that overlooked the water. They had fans and it wasn't swelteringly hot hot, so it was nice. There's also a sports bar area in the back. Our server was friendly and informative. We started with the gator bites, which were delicious. My bf had the house-made crab cake. It was a little small, but tasty. It was served with a Bahamian cocktail sauce that was great. I had the shrimp Dakota style, which was amazing. We also tried the draft lavender lemonade cocktail. It was light and refreshing. Prices are what you expect for the Keys. This place had exactly what I was looking for in a chill, laid back Keys dining experience. I'll definitely be coming here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing as always! What is better than enjoying the best smoked fish dip while relaxing to the tunes of live entertainment and sipping on a yummy drink? From the crab legs to the mahi sandwich......Snappers is the place to be. Chef Floyd is the best and will take good care of you! Every time I visit the keys, I find myself at Snappers at least once a day!
google avatar

Yelp
Overall a nice oceanfront restaurant in which their main draw is the atmosphere and view and not the food. Decided to bring all the mothers in the family for a Mother's Day outing in the keys and chose Snappers based on the some recommendations. They have their own parking lot across the street with plenty of spots. Unfortunately they didn't take reservations so we had to wait an hour and a half for a table of eight outside. They had available seating inside but we didn't drive almost two hours to sit inside, so we waited. During the wait Julie the hostess was very friendly and was able to give me a run down of all her best recommendations along with a breakdown of what was busy and slow seasons. While we waited we walked around and they had live music outside which is great to grab a drink at the bar and listen to some tunes by the water. We finally got seated and our server Walter came and quickly took all our orders. It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze outside by the water. Our drinks came and my mojito tasted like it was left at the bar and became watered down. So I opted for a Corona as I at least new what to expect with that. For apps we had Conch fritters, gator bites and the fish dip. The conch fritters were the best of the three basically by default. Gator bites were super small and more breading than anything else, not worth the price at all! The fish dip was ok. Nothing to write home about. For entrees we had the HogFish Dakota style, another HogFish grilled, Shrimp 2 Ways, Fish Sandwich and the Seared Yellowfish Tuna. The HogFish was ok. For 42 dollars I was hoping I could select what my two sides were. Instead you only get to pick a starch and the veggies are automatically included. Well what if I don't want veggies?!? At 42 bucks I should be able to choose whatever I want. And for the record, we were given green beans for veggies (because you cant even choose your veggies) and they were hard and both of us that got HogFish, left the veggies on the plate. The Fish Sandwich also felt lackluster. It was Mahi inside two pieces of sliced bread with some frozen fries on the side. Very lazy. The Shrimp 2 Ways was actually nice but the risotto was not done all the way and it was still crunchy. Overall the food was just ok, the cocktails were eh and what you are left with is the view. And in my opinion it is why people go here in the first place. Would I come back here again? Probably not. Nothing at all said I gotta drive all the way to Key Largo for. But I will say staff was friendly and attentive for the most part.

Danielle A.

Yelp
On vacation with my mom and grandpa and had a great experience here for dinner! Our server Alfredo gave excellent service and was very attentive. I had the fish n chips which were fantastic. My mom had the fish tacos and my grandpa had the yellowtail and both had great things to say about their dishes. Plus the live music duo absolutely killed it! Great start to our vacation.
google avatar

Anna Z.

Yelp
Awesome place! The food was delicious! I heard this place gets quite busy (which is a good sign--it means it's great!), so we ordered appetizers and our main dishes right away. I hadn't even finished my appetizer when the main dish arrived! By the way, I highly recommend the mahi-mahi and baked clam appetizers. The crab legs were fantastic too! They even made me a Bloody Mary, even though it wasn't on the menu. Live music and friendly staff make this place super cozy. Definitely give it a try!
google avatar

Angelica G.

Yelp
The food was very good if you like seafood that is. We had the mahi mahi appetizer, clam chowder soup, snapper, and fish fingers for the kiddo. Just heads up whatever it says is spicy it's spicy . So if you don't like spicy or just a little bit - Don't! The service was great, just keep in mind that it's not that big of a restaurant so if it's raining or about to- Then they'll get crowded and you may have to wait longer to get a table. The ambiance outside was my favorite for the obvious reasons scenery and bar area plus some live music On the inside was a bit more serious but still chill and nice restrooms were clean and spacious. Also plenty of souvenirs at their little shop by the host station
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
One star for oceanfront. I rarely utilize this platform to write a review unless I feel like it's necessary. My family of four with two small children went yesterday at 5pm for dinner. The hostesses were confused about what tables were available, so we shuffled around for a bit. When sat, the waiter couldnt admit the order properly. We asked for a dozen oysters and were given 6, then charged for 12. $38 per dozen btw. I'm born and raised in Florida and have never seen anything like that especially at a dive. $8 tap beer. I ordered a grouper sandwich and instead of normal LTO and tartar, it had frozen carrots and cauliflower obviously from a California mix frozen bag. I'll post a pic. Awful. $140 for a beer, mixed drink, fish tacos, grouper sandwich, 6 oysters, and a hamburger. I live across the street, and love the keys, but avoid.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Mandy, our server was great. We had the fish tacos and cheese cake for dessert. Both tasty! When we visit Key Largo again this will be our go to!
google avatar

Sam L.

Yelp
Food was just ok, coconut shrimp tasted good, but the chili sauce was not great. Biggest issue was the service was incredibly slow. Our drinks came out after our food, which for us defeated the purpose of getting the drinks.
google avatar

Lori E.

Yelp
The food was delightful, I had the clam chowder and it was incredible. The hog fish was very tasty in a champagne sauce (Dakota style). My friend had the coconut shrimp basket and LOVED the shrimp. The hush puppies were over cooked and the drink I ordered was supposed to come with purée but didn't , and it took a bit for the server to bring me some in a glass. Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable experience and I will be back. The ambience was beautiful too!
google avatar

Janice J.

Yelp
Lovely setting on the water. I really enjoyed watching the fish and birds. They also have ample parking which is sometimes hard to find in the Keys. My husband and I came with two other couples. We split two appetizers and enjoyed some soup. The ahi tuna nachos were delicious and made perfectly to split with two people. Their version of spicy shrimp was ok. It could use some more sauce. I cannot remember what everyone ordered. I do know that the shrimp scampi over pasta was garlicky and a little dry, and those who ordered a dessert loved them. The reason for 3 stars is that we were seated at a picnic table right in the center of the deck where every server seemed to go by us or around us for at least 10-15 minutes, my friend timed it, before anyone greeted us or took our drink order.
google avatar

Tiffany F.

Yelp
The ceviche and tuna tartare were both good--fresh and flavorful. My friend and I also split the grouper sandwich, which was good overall, though I wasn't a fan of the pickled vegetables that came on it. The outside seating was a highlight; it was a beautiful day, and the service was great. Great spot for enjoying fresh seafood outdoors!

Yelp
got there, place was packed, i get it. long weekend. well, after waiting so long, the manager said, i gonna give u a table. ok, sat down, waited about 20 min, nothing, the manager saw this and took our drink orders. the waiter finally showed u up and ask if we wanted to order drinks. we, said already put in the order. i said. we just want an appetizer, it was my bday so i just wanted oisters. after 27min of wait, we asked, how much longer doe pur appetizers to come, he said, let me check. came back with my oisters dloating in water becaue all the ice melted. ii could have sent it back, but disnt. igave it 4 stars to be nice. may never go back. will see.

Yelp
**Under New Management** Typically we stay away from restaurants that are transitioning to new owners etc.. We're very thankful we didn't this time. The service and FOOD (thanks Chef Floyd) were excellent! Started with the Smoked Fish Spread, let me tell you what an amazing "spread" it was. Plenty of red onion, capers, banana peppers, olives all served with crackers, sliced cucumber and celery. I then had the "Boston style" lobster roll. This sandwich was delicious, not the old tired seafood salad type roll with too much mayo (the lobster was the star). My lunch date had coconut shrimp, obviously made in-house, not your typical frozen coconut shrimp. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place! Water side fine dining with a completely laid back setting.

Yelp
Poor service, inconsistent food, but the patio and tiki are great. I was a local for ~5 years. We stopped going for about 3 years because the service was so bad. Under new management, not much has changed. Tried it 2x in two weeks..... Poor service - Inattentive and/or incapable bartenders. Its generally tough to keep good help in the keys. They still have a couple of good eggs (Kirk & Arial) but with Kiki gone, the revolving door of poor bartenders continues. Two specific instances in the last two weeks where the tall, dark-haired young lady at the downstairs bar was just bad. Delivering 2 of 3 drinks in my order and then waiting on pretty much everyone else in the bar before pouring the glass of wine?? Then coming back with an attitude that I'm still standing there? Second time (same server) our food comes out 15 minutes after the couple we were dining with. Huh? I asked - yes, our tickets were split when the orders went to the back of the house. That tells me everything I need to know about where the issue is. We only went back because the couple we were dining with are long-time locals and like the place. The view and outdoor space remains great. Too bad they can't get their act together otherwise. There are 15+ places within 5 mins that do it better & more consistently well.

Yelp
Snapper was great ! New turtle club is beautiful ! I had the dove creek grouper & a Jalepino margarita! Best part was our server Amanda !!! We'll be back soon !!!

Yelp
Came on a Monday it was not crowded at all , service was lacking big time , waitress was not attentive at all had to go find her to get check no manager in site checking on things , food was ok at best , if it wasn't for the water front location they would not survive, much better places to check down there

Came here for dinner and stayed the night in one of the 4 upstairs rooms. I ordered spicy chicken nachos from the "tailgate" menu they had and also the blackened mahi bites from the regular menu. I also had a spicy margarita. The bartending staff is very friendly. The margarita was perfectly spicy and fruity. The spicy chicken nachos came out looking like a mountain. They have all the good toppings and none of my chips were soggy. The blackened mahi bites were not dry at all and the seasoning was on point. The hotel room was nothing special, but it was clean and surprisingly quiet considering the location. The view was what really made the room worth it. I woke up for sunrise and had my own semi- private area to enjoy the view.

Yelp
Pros: The view and the "place" is spectacular. The waiter, David, was quite good, though never volunteered any information but fully and competently answered questions put to him. Cons. The time between our order and the time it was served was close to an hour way too long and it had consequences. Two of our party of seven enjoyed their food, the others did not. My fish was hard and tasteless and cool as if it sat under a "heat lamp" for a long part of the near hour that we waited for our food. I would not recommend this place.

Yelp
The ambience is that of a laid-back Caribbean tiki bar, on the Keys. Come here if you're into local, fresh seafood, and gator bites! The bar is great as well if you like tiki drinks.

Yelp
Charming unassuming entrance and dark interior in need of a makeover. But we came here for the food and view so we overlooked the shabbiness. The view is spectacular and everyone was seated outside on fairly comfortable chairs overlooking the water. Since this is not height of season yet we'd make allowances BUT! First our thoughts on the food. We ordered conch fritters...spicy and delish served with a mustardy dip. I ordered triple tail chargrilled and my husband had the blackened mahi. Both were prepared perfectly--moist and seasoned well. Thanks to the staff for delivering the meal dairy free as requested. My steamed veggies were fine as was the sweet potato fries. My companion had okay corn on cob and fries with no salt. Unfortunately the fries arrived mushy, wilted and with salt. Now for the cons. Our waiter was not a seasoned professional and detracted from our overall experience. His many "sorry" responses frustrated us. Such as he delivered a bottle of beer but neglected to provide the glass. I requested a clean napkin that wrapped the silverware as it had a big bbq stain on it. We could not get his attention so we asked the manager to find out why the fritters were taking so long. Turns out they were sitting and waiting to be delivered to the table. The French fries were reordered and delivered hot and sodium free. Manager and chef came over to check on us. That was a plus. The plate is presented with the protein and two sides piled on the oval plate which covers up the fish. I think the reason is to cheap out on the amount of sides served. Comparing the original soggy salted fries to the replacement batch is 10 fries to twenty. My final observation is the market price noted. My 6 ounce yellowtail cost a whopping $55 compared to my companion's $35 fish. So this is on me. ASK about pricing before you order! I'd prefer separate plating. Snappers did comp us the fritters which was a nice gesture. Finally come for the food and ask questions to avoid our disappointment. And I would come back for the fish!!!!

Yelp
This is probably a 3.5/5. While the food was good, it took an hour and 45 minutes to come out. They did warn us that the kitchen was really backed up but two hours without even a comped appetizer is kind of insane. We were sitting at the bar too and people around us stunk of cigarettes and were wasted at nine pm. I think if we had come during a less crazy time, I would have enjoyed it more. The food was really good once it eventually arrived.

Yelp
Great service, good food (& cocktails), and great atmosphere. Would go back. They could use a new musician though.

Yelp
Simply a great water front spot, easy, friendly. It's like your favorite home spot, first time or 100th. Food. Drink. Real people. Live music you want to listen to.
