"My grandfather's 86 and he's having a baby. Man, I hope when I'm 86 I can have babies." - Enrique
Eh? Maybe not a good idea, Enrique! After a morning jog of a block lol, and some artisan baked bites later, it was time for some good coffee. I didn't have to journey far as just across the street of where I was bunkered down from the rain, I notice a sign for Snowbird Coffee! Independent coffee it is!
I quickly Yelp pre-entering (mandatory in the new norm) and immediately notice El Spaniard. Okay this time it has nothing to do with Enrique Iglesias, instead it's a Latté with pretty positive reviews. And on a whim I enter and order El Spaniard! The Barista was very social and confidently said I'd enjoy it!
As I wait for my custom El Spaniard, basically a Latté with Expresso and Condensed Cream, to be made, I notice a very cozy interior with natural light and no seating haha, however what it lacks in minimalist furniture, it more than makes up with vintage decor and wicked cool knickknacks. There's also a standup bar near the bay window if need be, or a shared parklet just outside. El Spaniard is ready! Olé!!!
I decide to take El Spaniard with me as I slowly walk back on the avenues. Sipping, stopping, sipping, stopping brought me back to my days in Barcelona. The flavors made me smile thinking of myself sipping Spanish coffee in a churros shop. Ahhhh.
In the end, I'd return to Snowbird Coffee. Yes, it's on par price wise with other higher-end coffee shops, the menu is limited, but what's on the menu is done right. I just wish they had warm churros... oh well.
