Loved the kimchi pancake! Nice fast service and great kimchi stew. Everyone was very nice.

I’ve been a customer here for over ten years, and they’ve always had the best Korean seafood pancake around. The pancake is crispy, made with fresh squid and high-quality shrimp. Their tofu soup is delicious with just the right amount of seasoning, and the service has always been fast and efficient. The owner is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend the pancake — even though it feels a bit pricey these days due to inflation, we enjoy it every single time. We’ve tried seafood pancakes at many other places, but we always end up coming back here. No one else comes close

This is one of my to-go place whenever I craved for Asian food in Nashville. Although there is not much variety, yet is still my usual place that I would love to visit especially for the hot tofu soup! I will remember this place and thanks for the service!

Google
This place is old school and authentic! Whenever I have to be at the airport, this is my go to spot. The food is phenomenal and the price cannot be beat. You will not be disappointed. Service with a smile from Auntie who works there. She’s lovely and never let you run out of anything.

Google
This has become our favorite Korean BBQ spot! The short ribs are the best in town, and the staff is always attentive and kind. The atmosphere feels authentic and traditional, unlike many of the modernized restaurants these days. We’ll definitely keep coming back!

Google
The food here was DELICIOUS!! I had the beef bulgogi as well as a few dishes to share with my family who were visiting from Taiwan. They also thought the food was phenomenal. I wasn’t expecting such good seafood from a land-locked city! The atmosphere was very relaxing and inviting to all customers. I felt like I could spend all day at that restaurant. Not to mention the fantastic service. This is a family owned restaurant which means the food is made with live and care. My beef bulgogi was super delicious along with the rice noodles. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant!!

Google
Best Korean in Nashville, a hidden gem. Been coming for dinner for years. The kimchi soup with beef is crave-able. Love the banchan (fermented side dishes) and watching k-pop. A rare treat to not have music blasting and being able to converse easily. Leave with a happy wallet and an even happier belly.

Google
Really authentic and delicious soon tofu soup dishes! They have the usual assortment of side dishes too which is nice.

Yelp
My favorite Korean restaurant in Nashville! They have the best soups, unlimited side dishes, and super efficient service. I love the combo soup, which comes up a variety of seafood, beef, and tofu. Their soups also come with an egg you crack in that cooks in the boiling soup. Lots of other great dishes on the menu, including spicy pork and kimchi bokeum. Indoor seating only, more of a hole-in-the-wall vibe. They play Korean music videos on a TV while you're eating!

Yelp
I'm an Asian from San Francisco and I loved eating at So Gong Dong in Palo Alto CA when I lived there. I came here because it had the same name as the tofu house I'd go to back home and though it's not exactly the same- it's similar enough. It's a bit dark and old inside but I'm not one to fuss over those things when it comes to good Asian food. I need to give this place 5 stars even though it's not THE BEST Korean food because... it's probably going to be "the best" in a place like Tennessee and if there's anything I can do to help this business out I will do it! I want them to stay in business for when I need that Korean craving satisfied (after watching too many episodes of boys over flowers) because they fed me a great meal. Banchan was also 10/10 actually

Yelp
This isn't my favorite Korean food but it'll do in a pinch! It did take awhile to get our order taken, but once it was taken, our food came out super fast. Kind service, just a small staff. Even though it might not be your LA or NYC restaurant, it's important to support these small businesses.

Yelp
Sometimes the most non-descript storefronts have the best food. I ordered the hot stone bibimbap and was delighted by how perfect it was. The rice was crispy, the egg yolk was runny, the kimchi was delicious. So happy to have found this place! I look forward to eating here again.

Yelp
Came on a weekend for dinner and was seated immediately. My husband ordered the dolsot bibimbap and I ordered the galbi combo. Our total came out to around $50 with tip. The bibimbap was worth it and came with a side of tofu soup. My husband loved it. The galbi combo came with a larger tofu soup that I chose. The soup was delicious and piping hot. Super flavorful galbi but it only came with 5 pieces which was unfortunate for the price. Banchan was also yummy with lots of variety including kimchi, fish cakes, bean sprouts, seaweed and pickled cucumbers. I like that they have some other additional dishes you can order that isn't on the menu but written on the board closer to the register. I can't wait to come back to try their jjangmyeon!

Yelp
An hole in the wall place for sure, but don't let it fool you, the food was Very authentic Korean food, you really can't go wrong with this place.

Yelp
A staple Korean restaurant in Nashville. Having been to quite a few in the area (like Korea house), I can confidently say that So Gong Dong offers Tofu Soup that's in the running for being the best in the area. Beyond the tofu soup, the Banchan and Galbi were also great, though the Galbi could've had some improvements in quantity.

Yelp
If you're craving some korean comfort food, this is the place to go. After 4 years in Nashville, I discovered this place with some friends on my last day and now I'm shaking my fist in the air that this discovery didn't come sooner. The soup is very hearty and flavorful. Comes with a bow of rice and you can adjust the spice level from mild, medium, hot, and very hot. Comforting and homey, like a warm hug. What more could you want? Side note: side dishes (not pictured) were excellent as well! I could not stop eating their bean sprouts. We got refills twice.

Yelp
In from out of town looking for a good Korean restaurant and we stumbled upon So Gong Dong. We had the Galbi(short ribs), bibimbap, and mushroom tofo soup. All were great, the service is friendly and don't rush the process enjoy the ambiance. The bibimbap is served in a stone pot and gets the rice nice and crispy.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the service is amazing! Ordered the spicy rib, and it was the best rib I ever had.

Yelp
Samgyetang (Gingseng Chicken Soup) Perfect cold weather for this medicinal piping bubbly hot soup. Includes glutinous rice, jujube, garlic, topped with scallions. Salt & peppers on the side to your preference.

Yelp
Wonderful service. Amazing food. The spicy beef or pork bulgogi is a life changing experience. Loved the personal ambiance of the restaurant as it reminded me of a real homey place.

Yelp
This was recommended when we said were craving for something Asian. This place was much welcomed by us. Ordered Shrimp & scallops, Beef with mushroom/tofu soup, & the "tapas" . Loved the soup but the rest was just ok. The place needs some TLC but all in all it's an ok place when you get tired of southern food.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent. Korean pancake, spicy beef bulgogi, some soup, and a tofu/kimchi/beef dish. This is true, traditional, authentic Korean food. No Asian fusion here. The spicy beef bulgogi brought the heat. The beef was very tender too. My favorite dish was the tofu/kimchi/beef dish. The pickled flavors of the kimchi mixed with added spice from peppers was fantastic. So good. The portions and price were also good.

Yelp
So Gong Dong Tofu House (SDG for short in this review) Some people bristle or squirm at the thought of "tofu"....so let's start off by putting those fears to rest. Yes, So Dong Gong Tofu House does serve tofu...but there are plenty of other options on the menu including clams, oysters, shrimp, fish, chicken, pork and beef - virtually all of which can be custom tailored in spiciness for your tastes. We scheduled our monthly Tennessee Returned Peace Corps Volunteer "International Dine Around Town" at SDG. And Mina, who took our reservation, greeted our entire group politely and enthusiastically as we arrived. Unfortunately, at the last minute (literally as we walked in the door) I received two text messages and informed her we had to reduce our group of 15 to 12 due to traffic woes. Nevertheless, Mina again proved to be a most welcoming and gracious host and told me - no problem - not to worry. Drinks - beer, Saki, and tea were ordered and promptly delivered, along with water for everyone. Our orders were taken, with a bit of broken English interpretation. (However, staff speaks better English than I do Korean, so I have no "beef" with language here.) The dishes around our table - some of which were shared, as is our group's custom, included hot soup for nearly everyone. (Combos are a great way to go at SDG...check the menu and ask your server if explanation is needed.) Nearly all dishes come with an assortment of "condiments" or sides that include marinated Cucumber or Bitter melon, Fish Cake (a personal favorite), rather mild KimChi (another fave), potatoes, shredded beans, sprouts, and steamed rice. The soup (mine was a slightly spicy Kimchi, Tofu and Mushroom) is served in an extremely hot clay dish so you can add a raw egg and stir the pot while it cooks right in front of you. (I've noticed there is at least one video on SDG Yelp photo page showing this.) Also, you can specify the amount of heat from "Very Hot" to "Medium" to "White" (aka none at all.) Main dishes we shared included Korean Ribs - thin, barbecued and fairly tender, seasoned mildly - yet tasty. Shrimp and scallop. (Notice...you get one scallop! I'd prefer if they were a bit more generous with the mollusk part of this dish.) Dumplings - fried nicely. Bibimbap - a hearty rice dish that's loaded with veggies and meat. Chopsticks and a spoon are the set tableware here; you will have to ask for a fork if needed...although none of our group did. Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is warm and, as mentioned at the outset, very inviting. After a delicious meal like this, methinks SDG could easily stand for "So Darn Good!"

Yelp
I just enjoyed lunch at So Gong Dong Tofu House with a friend very much. I had done a bit of research on Yelp and knew I wanted a kimchi soup (thanks for all the pictures that helped me choose, Yelpers!). I went with the kimchi, tofu, beef soup, and I LOVED IT. Spicy, bubbling as it came to the table, with lots of soft tofu, and an egg on the side to crack into the soup. It was delicious. I'd eat it again tomorrow. I also really enjoyed the banchan. Today, we had Kongnamul (seasoned soybean sprouts), seaweed, Eomuk bokkeum (fried fishcake), sweet braised potatoes, marinated cucumber, and kimchi. The fishcakes and sweet braised potatoes are always a favorite, and I definitely asked for those bowls to be refilled once (I won't be hungry for dinner today)! My friend got a chicken lunch special (they had a few written on the dry erase board on the back wall by the TV), which she enjoyed (she asked for it to be less spicy, which they got just right). They have a lot of soups, but they also offer bulgogi, short ribs (galbi), fried fish dishes, bibimbap, kimchi or seafood pancakes, dumplings, and more! The Tofu House is in a strip mall (usually a good start to a meal, right?), and the interior is nice (understated, traditional, comfy, casual). The service was great. And the prices are super reasonable. The Tofu House had been on my list to check out for a long time, and I'm sad I'm just checking it out as I leave Nashville! The food is great, and I definitely should have been eating her for my five years in Nashville rather than just my last few weeks. If you love Korean food or if you're interesting in trying it out for the first time, check out So Gong Dong Tofu House! What a great meal.

Yelp
I got the spicy chicken and barley tea. It was delicious!! I will definitely come back here next time I'm in town!!

Yelp
The short ribs are what I will order next time. Everything is pretty tasty. You can skip the pancakes.

Yelp
This part of Nashville, the Antioch Nolensville area has a lot of ethnic eateries and So Gong Dong Tofu House is one of them. It is run by Koreans and on the two occasions I have been here I have noticed Koreans dining as well Very good. Kimchi was not soggy, seaweed was on point. I had the spicy chicken . Came sizzling hot -duh, it's in a hot plate. LOL They shut down between late lunch and early dinner. Try it.

Yelp
Their beef bulgogi are good, the side dish are also good, service so fast . And easy to find this place. If you're looking for good Korea food this one is one of them.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is amazing, best Korean in Nashville. I judge a Korean restaurant not only by their entrees, but also the sides. Some places sides are bland or taste too vinegary. This place every single side-item brought to your table with your meal is to die-for. I like the spicy bulgoginwitj rice as my entree but the soups are really good, too. The only reason I give this a 4/5 is because the service is lacking. It's impossible to get anyone over to your table if you need anything, like a beverage refill. Wow, after typing this, I can't wait until the next time I get to go here.
google avatar

Yelp
You can tell a Korean place is authentic by the soju posters on the wall. We stumbled on this place after a long day of traveling and were hoping for some nice comforting soup to warm us up, and that's exactly what we got! We split a pajeon (seafood pancake) that was delicious, I was nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy inside stuffed with veggies and seafood. We also CLEARED OUT every last one of the ban chan (side dishes). They were so yummy from the kimchi to the seaweed to the spicy cucumber to the potato salad (my personal favorite) we had to ask for refills since everyone was eating so much of the side dishes. Now to the main course, I ordered the Seafood Stew. Each of the stews comes boiling hot with an egg for you to crack in yourself. My stew was nice and flavorful with a slight kick. It paired perfectly with a scoop of rice and the tofu was nice and silky. It was some of the best Korean food I have had and would highly recommend people check it out!

Yelp
Not much more I can contribute to the reviews except to say we showed up about ten minutes before 2 on a Saturday and were told that they close at 2. I'm not sure if that's official or if that was their way of telling us that they expect us to quickly eat and get out... They still let us dine and didn't hover over us to leave. We tried to order the Octopus/Tofu Bibimbap but they warned us that it comes with non-traditional vegetables. I'm not sure if that was because we know what Korean food is like and they were out of other ingredients or if that is how they normally make it and wanted to set our expectations. Also, we were told they didn't have octopus but they had squid. We still ordered it. :) Both times I've been here, I have ordered the soondubu and kalbi combo so the table can share the meat and not have to order a whole meal. I've also had the haemul pajeon but I personally prefer the one from Hai Woon Dai because it came out super crispy which I enjoyed. SGD's pancake is still good. Overall, it's a bit pricey but considering it's one of the few legit Korean spots, it's well worth a visit.

Yelp
Wow! Talk about a delicious meal. The food here is so tasty, full of flavor, and appropriately seasoned. The service is fast and kind. Anytime I'm passing through Nashville this is a must stop.

Yelp
Authentic Korean food in Antioch. The family was feeling adventurous and the kids had never had Korean food so we all loaded up in the pickup and headed over to Antioch. 30 minutes later we pulled into a strip mall parking lot and found the restaurant next to the laundry mat. This is where the old idiom "Don't judge a book by its cover" is very apopro. We were greeted immediately in walking in and promptly seated there were two Korean families eating already. We took this as a promising sign. Menus are in English and Korean. Chopsticks and spoon set the table. If you want a fork you will need to ask. No bar, adequate east Asian lager beer selection. Soda comes in a can, no refills. We started with the fried dumplings and seafood pancake. Both great. The dumplings are crispy different than Gyoza but served with same tangy dipping sauce. The seafood pancake was sliced pizza style, it was very good especially, liked the grilled octopus topping. Main courses were saved family style with assorted traditional Korean sides (Kimchi, Kongnamool (soybean sprouts), miyeok guk (seafood soup), gochugaru oi muchiim (red pepper dusted lightly pickled cucumbers), gamja jorim (braised potatoes). Beef bulgogi and Beef Galbi were awesome. My son liked the shrimp bulgogi. My son in law enjoyed the dolsot bibimbap. I had the Kimchi Jjigae (stew). It was savory. The tofu gave it a odd texture (mushy). Don't think I would get it again. Probably would try the oxtail soup instead. If it was closer would definitely go back regularly or get take out. However, since so far away will likely be a twice a year place. Entrees were not cheap $15-21.
google avatar

Xuan M.

Yelp
Decent place! My boyfriend and I thought it was a little too overpriced for Korean food. We ordered seafood pajeon, the combination of beef short ribs and spicy combination tofu soup. The pajeon was good, but the galbi was in really small portion and was pretty dry and overcooked. I enjoyed the spicy tofu soup although my boyfriend thought it was a little too hot. The side dishes were good besides the seaweed which was drenched in olive oil. But we enjoyed the fish cake, kimchi, and pickled cucumbers. Overall pretty solid place and pretty authentic, compared to other Asian joints you can get at Nashville area, would come back again!!
google avatar

Carina K.

Yelp
Doesn't look much outside but the food is awesomely delicious.I would definitely recommend this place when you are trying to find a Korean restaurant.

Skate M.

Yelp
I love their short rib and seafood pancake, I'll visit them more often only if they're cheaper.

Yelp
Best Korean restaurant in Nashville. Unlimited side dishes!!!! Which should be your sign to COME HERE. You can ask for more of whatever dish you want and the staff will gladly bring out some more! The soondubu is THE best menu item, in my opinion. The dish comes with a small bowl of rice and an egg (crack the egg into the steaming hot tofu soup). The flavors are pretty much perfect, and you can even choose your spicy level! The seafood pancake is pretty big, but I'd recommend ordering it with a friend or a group. It's pretty big, but also $16. Friendly wait staff. Prices are more on the expensive side, but for the food and what you're getting, it's so worth it. This is my go-to pace when I'm craving my Korean fix. Very authentic.

Yelp
This shop is hidden in a rundown strip mall front that is easy to miss. I was brought here by local friends and they drove by the store by accident. Walking in the restaurant you immediately spot multiple tables of Korean retirees out to lunch, which is good sign. The tofu soup at this place is on par with ones I've had in LA and NYC, and the 6 refillable banchan were good - included kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumber, broiled potato, fish cakes. Service was speedy, 10 minutes from ordering to food arrival (I timed it.)

Yelp
If you like Korean food, go here NOW! I love Korean soup. It's the best thing in the world. Don't let the name fool you. Yes, their main attraction is their tofu soup but they also have other traditional Korea dishes on the menu including BBQ. However, I'm not sure how that is cooked because I didn't see actual grills. But I was not here for the BBQ, I was here for the Soon du bu. So Gong Dong Tofu House is located in Antioch. While it's not the fanciest of restaurants, it's exactly what I want when looking for authentic Korean. We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and it wasn't busy. We were able to walk in and grab a table. The nice ajjumma gave us menus right away. Everything sounded amazing. I knew I wanted Soon du bu but they had so many different varieties of it! If you don't know, Soon du bu is a spicy tofu soup. This isn't your typical tofu so don't be scared if you don't normally eat tofu. It's soft and blends in with the other flavors of the soup. What I really appreciated about this place is that all of the Soon du bu soups were the same price. $10.50 for beef, seafood, mushroom, etc. You can pick what you actually want instead of worrying about saving an extra dollar or two. I went with option #5 which was the beef, kimchi, and tofu. The server then asked how spicy I wanted my soup. Ummm, what?! I get to choose my level of spice?! What a DREAM! I have learned to endure the spiciness of Korean food, but if I could choose, I would tone it down. This was amazing. I asked for low spice with glee. While they have beer and soju, it was a bit early to kick off a party so I just went with a coke. While waiting for our soup, the ban chan was served. They had the typical choices. My favorite is the spicy cucumber. Our soup was out quickly after that and was boiling hot. Literally. Tip: you get an egg with your soup. Crack the egg into your soup and stir it around. The soup is so hot it will cook. The soup also comes with a side of rice. After taking the first few bites and burning my tongue because I was too excited to let it cool down, I knew this place was legit. It was everything I was hoping for. The soup had great flavor, the tofu was so soft and paired well with the spice, and the kimchi added a little something extra. The beef was thinly sliced and tender. I couldn't get enough, yet the bowl was the perfect size. I was stuffed but was able to finish it all. SO GOOD!!! I'm a little mad that I tried this place because now I am going to want it all the time. Especially with this cold front heading our way. 5 stars all the way!

Jasmine H.

Yelp
Delicious, perfectly seasoned, authentic, and the most wonderful Korean restaurant I have had this far in Tennessee. You can tell the meals are made with love and pride! The BanChan is unlimited all were the best I've had for a LONG time. It's fair to say the Best! We have saved this as a favorite for date night or lunch!

Elle C.

Yelp
We had an absolutely phenomenal experience. The customer service was friendly and joyful. The food was a delight and rivals that of LA's Koreatown. I especially loved the crispy seafood pancake and tofu soup. What a hidden gem!

Yelp
First time eating Korean food. It was all delicious. Would suggest this place for anyone. Enjoyed the hot tea and Korean Ribs.
google avatar

Christian S.

Yelp
Kimchi mushroom soup with silken tofu = 5 stars. Same soup, plus beef = 5 stars. The seafood pancake is divine. It's huge, so order for a group. Pickled cucumber is my favorite of the banchan, but most are delicioius. The hot tea is very nice. Such pleasant service. Never a wait. Comfort food at a very reasonable price.

Yelp
My bro and I went to So Gong Dong Tofu House during lunch one day, venturing once again into the Antioch area where it seems most of the Korean restaurants and groceries are located. As usual, it was located in a nondescript strip mall with a humble storefront. What we found inside, however, was purely delicious! I think it's one of the few places you can get soondobu, Korean spicy tofu soup, which is what MM had. And yes, they put the egg in! I, of course, rocked some K-BBQ kalbi ribs. The banchan were plentiful, the service was good, food served sizzling hot and fresh, and I have zero complaints. This was probably one of my favorites in Nashville, right up there with Korea House but closer for me to access via Franklin.
google avatar

Deborah W.

Yelp
This is a very traditional Korean restaurant. Had the blessing of going with a Korean friend who gave me the scoop in what was good. If you don't know, trust the wait staff for their recommendations. Everything was fresh, tasty and satisfying. I'm ready to go back
google avatar

Tran T.

Yelp
Since this place is so close to my house, I always come here for dinner. My to-go choice is the combination of Galbi and Mushroom Tofu Soup. I suggest you order the food the combination list if you want to try their grilled meat (beef, chicken, pork, and fish) and tofu soup (kimchi, seafood, beef, mushroom). The banchan are also good. They are usually kimchi, pickled cucumber, sweet potato, pickled bean sprout, etc. These come with the meal and you can ask them for refill. Parking was never a problem for me. Service was good. They changed management the last time I was there so they do open on Sunday now. 2013/#13

Yelp
Not so fresh mushrooms and lacked flavor in my tofu mushroom soup. She tried to cross sell me an expensive appetizer without telling me they serve those small plates automatically. Similar to nearby Korean restaurant but lacking flavor and freshness will not be bringing me back.

Yelp
Good Food Every-Time And Hard Working Staff.............Thank You!!! Aad Highly Recommended!!!

Yelp
Needed something different tonight, and I got it thanks to you awesome Yelpers! It was cold and this spicy little restaurant had exactly what I needed. I had the combo of Bulgogi and Seafood Combination Tofu Soup. I almost ordered the large tofu soup; I spoke to the lady server, who appeared to be one of the co-owners, and she recommended the combo. The Bulgogi came out sizzling like a plate of fajitas, and it was good with the bowl of sticky rice. Likewise, the soup also came out at a fast boil, and the server indicated in broken english I should crack open the egg that came with the appetizers and put it in the soup. The prequel was 6 small plates of marinated and otherwise spiced appetizers. I recognized beans, kimchi cabbage and kimchi squash(?), seaweed, and cucumber, but I had to ask about the jellyfish, because I did not recognize it. All in all, a tasty start. The soup was spicy and got me sweating in just a couple of sips. It didn't help that I sat in front of a lamp that I figured out was a heat lamp, so I was on the receiving end of a bunch of heat! Soup was loaded with tofu, of course, and little clams and one prawn. Although it was plenty of food, they offered refills of the appetizers. I took a refill of the tea, it was mild and a nice change from the spicy soup. The decor is peaceful and the service was just ok but friendly. Would definitely come back here again, especially if it was freezing or below!

Yelp
This is my go to when it comes to Korean food. Not only is the food authentic and amazing, but you can get A LOT of food for around $22-$25. I always get the seafood combination soup with either Spicy Kalbi or Spicy Bulgogi. The soup comes out boiling so you can freshly crack and cook your egg. And you get all the sides; ranging from kimchi to cucumber salad and more. If you don't want that bug of a meal, of course you can order the soup or other protein dishes in their own. The staff and owners are always very nice. The restaurant is very casual and laid back. And most of the time not super busy which I absolutely love so that I can catch up and have some great conversation when I'm bringing friends. If you're looking for great Korean food, laid back atmosphere, and authenticity...then you'll most definitely find it here.

Yelp
I agree with other yelpers: this is definitely Korean soul food. I got the highly recommended tofu kimchi soup (mild!) and my friend got the combo soup (spicy, but not "stupid to eat," his words). Both were FANTASTIC. The portions were the perfect size as well. The bowls were smaller than I expected, but the soup was so filling that if there had been any more of it I would have felt bad for not being able to finish. By the end of the meal I was closing my eyes and sighing with happiness. The bun cha were delicious as well, and thanks to other yelpers, we knew to put those raw eggs in the soup. DO IT. The soup gets to your table at a rolling boil and it'll poach the egg while you try to figure out how to eat that delectable hell-broth. Our waitress also brought us refills of the bun cha she noticed that we had polished off more quickly. Tip #2: Spoon some of the soup over your bowl of rice to cool and eat it while you're waiting for your egg to poach. I'm sure that if you're Korean you probably know this. I'm white; I learned by observation. In another review, someone said "You know it's good if Korean people are eating here." Well we were the only pair of white kids there. Everyone else was either Korean or the spouse of a Korean, and a few of them seemed to know each other and brought their families and children and chatted with other tables throughout our meal which gave it a very nice familial vibe. I really, really enjoyed my visit to So Gong Dong. It was a little off the beaten path for me, but the detour was so worth it and I will be sure to plot that same route the next time I am in Nashville.

Yelp
I had a guest in town that had never eaten Korean food before so I was trying to pick which Korean restaurant to take him too. Here in Nashville, we have five that I can think of off the top of my head but each one is good for a particular dish. We were in a soup mood so I went for the Tofu House. They are under new management/ownership so I wasn't sure if there would be much difference. When we walked in, we were greeted by the kindest young waiter who showed us our table. He offered good advice as we were ordering. We ordered one seafood tofu soup and 1/2 a entree of spicy bulgogi beef. The side dishes were soon brought out and I really liked their picked cucumbers and daikon (radish). My guest loved the kimchi the best. When we ate all of our side dishes, they gladly replenished them. Our main courses came out hot and tasty. I could only eat half of my dinner and took the rest home. We had a very pleasant experience there and to top it all off- they let us bring our own bottle of wine at no extra charge. They serve beer so they just requested that if we do bring alcohol that it not be beer! Fair enough. I read that they didn't serve alcohol but they do serve beer. They were super kind and it really made me like them more. The food is tasty here. Not the best Korean food EVER but that's hard to beat when I've been to Korea and eaten some of the best galbi of my life. Thank you Tofu House for filling my craving when I do need some Korean food in my life.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner and the food was delicious. My wife is Korean and I have eaten a lot of Korean food over the last 25 years. I won't lie, I've had better, but this was really good and I will go back.

Yelp
So, I had the fish roe soup and it was simply delicious. All the side dishes were fresh. The place is very home-y and welcoming. This is the first time I truly enjoyed eating korean food; there's also great options for vegetarians (naturally because this is a tofu house). If you're wanting some korean food; I think this is the best in Nashville for sure. Many Korean food places aren't that good and overpriced. This place is definitely well priced and very good. I could NOT finish my plate; the lady serving was very polite and honestly this is so worth it. Very hearty. the -1 star is because I personally don't like korean food that much; i think the fish roe was a bit dry and also they don't deliver. But honestly, maybe I'm just being harsh... maybe 4.5 is better ;)
