They gave us a free hand treatment which left out hands feeling amazing!! You can personalize a lot if not every product to your liking and they have great deals. Great for gifts! I recommend the polisher and the tobaccco & caramel scent.

A perfect place to create your own perfume! I absolutely loved discovering my very own scent crafted with care by the kind and skilled perfumer. It was such a delightful experience spending time together to find the perfect fragrance. Honestly, I wish I could customize multiple perfumes because everything was so amazing! Gem of a shop, hidden in meatpacking/west village. I’ve randomly been into this shop a few times over the years and always find sweet little gifts. They give you a free hand wash in a vintage bathtub sink. It’s a cute and quirky place with beautifully handmade products…very only in New York. I love all their scrubs especially their creamy ones it leaves me smooth as a baby’s bum! Also love their body washes and their candles smell wonderful and last forever! Pro tip: I bring back my glass containers when buying new ones and get a little discount, plus it’s more sustainable. The staff are nice and knowledgeable. It’s my go to shop whenever I need to get a personable and unique present. Everything looks expensive but is quite affordable. I always love supporting small businesses.

It was my first time in New York and I was spending Valentine's Day with my Girlfriend. We were looking for Bath Bombs all day and decided to let the universe bring it to us. As we were walking around my Girlfriend spotted Soapology. Thank goodness she did! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a wonderful smell and a great vibe. Dina kindly asked us if we would like a hand wash. It was a 5 step hand washing routine. The Cleaners, Exfoliaters, and Moisturizers left our hands feeling amazing! Dina then showed us their many options of bath bombs. We left with a bath bomb and a soy based massage candle. We were VERY pleased with the Products and Service at Soapology New York. 10 out of 10, I recommend!

Obsessed with this store. Stumbled past it on a hot girl summer walk and was immediately greeted by Olivia and treated to a free hand wash which included four products that were both soaps and exfoliants. Heaven. You can try the different scents and their body wash can be used as soaps too, so if you're looking for liquid soap then you can expand your scents. You can also CUSTOMIZE? I got the yuzu body wash (to use for soap) and I wasn't going to add scents but Olivia added verbana and oh baby! Incredible. The bottle was affordable at $21 and completely tailored to my wants. Roy helped out by finding me a soap pump to go with. I'll be getting my hand soap here from now on!

Found this gem on Yelp. Didn't realize it was a block away from the route I walk to work every day either. What a sweet store with kind employees. The woman working today wasn't too pushy and let me roam while still quickly showing me why their candles are special. I love this type of customer service. Bought a $50 brass bird dish and a $10 candle snufter. Saw there was a 20% off for new customer Check In Offer which is what made me pull the trigger on the brass catch-all dish plus the snufter that I originally was only going to buy. What a great business you run. Keep doing what you're doing!

A great place to go to feel and smell amazing! I love the team who works at the small boutique!!! From the moment you walk into the store you instantly feel at home and know that you will be taken care of... LOVE the large tub in the back of the shop where you can try out the various cleansing products and lotions. What I like the most is the customization you can get for each of the products to get a personalized scent or simply go for the off the shelf great scents! I like to mix and match! A great place for gifts and just to lift your spirits!

Only certain people seem "entitled" to service here. Walked in with my friend because it smelled so good inside as we passed the entrance. The sales girl told us about the store and seemed very friendly...until the "other" couple walked in. She gave them a similar speech but proceeded to walk them to the sink in the back where she gave them samples to try, rubbing their hands with the products and really getting into it. I found what I wanted and waited for her for a bit. She saw me at the register and said she would be there when she was done. Waited another minute or two. When it was obvious that she wasn't interested in making the sale, we left. So if people like me aren't welcome, that's fine. I saved a ton of money, as I wanted to buy a few gift sets as well. I've never encountered being ignored at Sabon so that's where I'll shop in the future. My money is still green there. I'll bet those people you spent so much time with didn't buy a damned thing. Nice job Soapology.

I walked in last night around 8 with my son. We were shopping for a Mother's Day gift. We were entranced by the delightful scents in the air as we entered, radically different from the odors outside... Alice, the salesperson, walked us through the products and introduced us to some specials. We perused and smelled all the delectable smells then splurged on a bunch of different things! They have a ton of products like glycerin soaps, candles that melt down into massage oil, oil perfumes, bath salts, scrubs, lotions, bubble bath, loofah, and more. I wish they offered the bubble bath in more scents. I only saw about 3 or 4. Still, the scents they offered were really nice. Alice created little packages for us and stuffed the bags with lots of paper so there was 'no peeking' which I thought was cute. She was really engaging and positive which made the experience that much better. ​At one point, there was an intoxicated guy, maybe homeless, who walked in and was shopping for a gift for his girlfriend. She knew he wasn't really there to shop but still treated him with respect and dignity. At the end of it all we left happy. I did notice that I had a thin layer of oil on my face from whatever candles were lit. I was cool with it, I have dry skin. If you're not into that, I'd carry some rice paper wipes in my bag. I'm excited for my next opportunity to go back. I got about 10 products and spent about $100. For me Value 10/10 Products Offered 10/10 Scents Available 9/10 Service 12/10 Atmosphere 10/10

I have been a longtime fan of Soapology's hand-poured candles ($26). They double as massage candles and are made of soy wax, providing a cleaner, slower burn. The wax melts into a luxuriously scented massage oil that you can use to moisturize your skin. Soapology's candles also come in a smaller votive size for $10. I personally love their white tea+ginger, sangria+white peach, and yuzu scents. They also have a seasonal mulberry scent that is very good too. Overall, Soapology is a great place for gift-shopping as they have a good variety of bath/body products, some of which that are expertly curated in gift sets, in lots of great scents.

I was so excited to visit this store on Mother's day with my son and daughter. I love soaps and scrubs...they are just one of life's great pleasures. I was already sold when I walked in the door. That was until the customer service associate started talking to me. Every question I had about a product she laughed at me and made a face like why are you stopping me from giving you my rehearsed lines about this product. I thought it was just me until my daughter said why does this rep keep laughing at everything you say like you have a whole bunch of dumb questions. After having the demo of the scrubs and lotion I really wanted to buy because it felt and smelled good, but the customer service girl was so obnoxious that I just couldn't let her think that she did a good job so I just walked out. I'll just buy a great scrub and cream from some where else. Too bad.

This store is lovely. We were treated to complimentary hand washes with no pressure to purchase. They are generally just excited for people to try their products. When I found a scrub I liked, they customized it for me. If you are looking for quality soaps, scrubs and gifts, please visit. Prices are excellent.

Honestly I'm really in love with this soap shop!!! I have never seen something so naturally relaxing and simply beautiful. Upon walking around the city with my boyfriend we happened to stop at this shop and the man working inside was so kind and allowed us to try SO many products!! We started with the body soap, then I did a coarse lavendar body scrub, a walnut scrub and another lavendar scrub that was fine enough for the face. The coffee scrub was also sooo nice on the skin. The smells that I loved were the lavendar, verbena & they even have a body wash that is tobacco scented!?!? #cool Also their candles are super cool. They are soy based and can be used as massage oil!!! So cool. Love this shop very much. Also get their lavendar lotion!!!

Leena was so sweet and helpful, i look forward to coming back. We wandered upon this shop late one night while roaming the meat packing district. We were drawn in by the sweet aroma and the sale signs. Upon entry we were greeted by Leena and she made some suggestions from the sale rack that were awesome. We ended up getting the body oil and I couldn't be happier. 3 hours later, while writing this post, I still smell the fragrance and my arm is sooooo smooth and supple..... i think I'm going to go back in the morning and get some more before we leave. On top of the massage/body oil recommendation she also gave us some free samples of the walnut polish. I tried the walnut polish and I can understand why it's a best seller. My face was so soft after I used it. It was a great exfoliator, even for my sensitive skin.

Really large selection. Some of the fragrances are extremely strong so shop wisely. There is a large selection of soaps and home sprays.

My husband and I were wondering around looking for the High Line Park, but were distracted by a sign that said $5 soap sale. So, be being the lover or all things that smell lovely, I had to check it out. We were initially greeted by Michal, who was very pleasant and patiently answered all of my husband's questions - as he's also a bath time fan. There are MANY scents to choose from, and they can customize salt scrubs, shower gel and bubble baths to whatever combination of scents you like. Michal worked with me to make a body scrub that smells divine - Jasmine Coconut. We also checked out everything else in the store - your standard fare scrubs, Shea butters, bath bombs, perfumes, ect.. Overall a really great visit, and I will surely be back.

I absolutely love this place. To begin, their customer service is excellent. They are always so pleasant and helpful. I also appreciate that they don't force things on you. They take the time to walk you through anything you wish to try. I use the shower gel, the lotion, and the scrub, all in lavender. My skin feels so soft and hydrated. Next, I will try the bath oil.

I searched on Yelp for a place to get my hands on some lavender scented products and came across this shop. They do carry a lot of lavender scented products- perfumes/ sachets/ reed diffusers/ shower gels etc and in some other scents like water Lilly Jasmine etc. The ladies that tended the shop helped with spraying the scents I was after in pieces of wooden sticks to let me smell outside the shop- the whole shop smelled very overwhelming and strong, other than that they didn't seem to be very interested in welcoming their customers but having laughs and giggles over their causal chats at work

Touted as offering products that are "handmade and natural," this quaint, cute shop has many delights for your senses: soy candles, face washes, lotions, soaps, and perfumes. The service was great--personable but not pushy. She led me to the sink in the bank and let me try their various washes, scrubs, and lotions. I'm not sure whose hand- and face-washing regimen is that involved, but it sure felt and smelled good. They have soy candles in various scents like verbena, tea and ginger, and lavender; they come in two sizes - small ($10) and large ($26). They also have various soaps - either based in glycerin or oil and they run about $8. I didn't get a chance to look at their other stuff in detail, so I'd like to return. I can imagine that if you like that sort of thing or just have a hard time making decisions, you'll be in the little shop for a while. It's definitely not a place for bargain hunters but it was a good experience, especially if the quality is as good as they say.

I've walked by this store all the time and finally had a moment to explore my senses. The staff here are lovely and very helpful. I was looking for something youthful yet sensual and picked three oils that stood out to me... Rose, sandalwood and vetiver. I walked around the neighborhood a bit to see how it settled on my skin and came back right away to purchase. I fell in love!! This beats any alcohol perfume I've ever bought. They have a wide selection of scents to choose from and you can combine whichever ones you like to create your voodoo. I love the girls that helped me, they were so knowledgeable. The only thing I would say is - it would be a great idea to have a guide that can assist customers with which notes can compliment each other. (Just to help narrow down since there are so so many scents to choose from). Also the candles are great - you can use the soy as a massage cream/oil. I love my Yuzu candle! I had a wonderful experience and will be back again!

Very bad service...July 26 2022. 6:35 p.m We went there and the cashier didn't ask anything and when we asked she said that just look at it if you didn't find anything that what u likewe don't have it in the store..very racism...she was so nice to white customer whose was same time with us in the store..even she was bullying that soap soap although we said we r looking for soap bar. Wait, how have I not left a review yet? I'd live here if they let me - all things Vetiver from this holy apothecary. Everyone is so friendly and so wildly interesting, they hire smart, eclectic people who really understand how unique and amazing the products here are. What I LOVE: - Linen spray. I'm telling you, Vetiver linen spray will give you a deep and relaxing nights sleep, but lavender is helpful, too, but I prefer that as a satchel in my pillow. - Body Butter. It is so rich and creamy I'm still hydrated even after getting in the pool. I have mint for morning showers to wake me up and Vetiver for before bed. - Eye Cream. Honestly, I use this all over my face sometimes. I don't know how they get this so satin smooth but it feels like pampering your skin every use. - Walnut scrub. There is no better facial exfoliation on the planet. Buy this in bulk. No kidding. That giant $75 jar, I promise, you want that. - Face wash. It's the olive oil in there that makes me radiate but man is this face wash hard to beat. - Dead Sea Clay Mask. No way to over state this - it will give you a new face. It pulls out every impurity and leaves my face tingly clean and exceptionally bright. I love this stuff. - ALL of their candles. The Tea Rose, Tobacco & Caramel, Yuzu and White Tea & Ginger are all on regular rotation in my house. BIG FAN: - Soaking salt. It just does something to my bath water and I'm always fighting sleep shortly after hopping into the tub. - Bath bombs. They don't fizz like others but they make the bath water something mythic. It's a creamy bath filled with essential oils and it's like stepping back in time. - Night cream. Like the eye cream it's ridiculously smooth and I often put this on in place of a regular day time moisturizer. - Shower gel. Nothing particularly special about the gel itself other than the oil/scent you pick, but it stays with you all day. - Massage Oil. I prefer this to the perfume oil which can be incredibly strong, but the massage oil has the added benefit of serving as a moisturizer as well. - As much as I love the coffee scrub and recommend it, I actually love the sugar scrub more. It's a pretty powerful exfoliate and easier on the drain. Seriously, I could go on and on and on. I love this place. If you stop in, tell them the Vetiver girl says hello. And they're online, too (thank God)!

This place deserves a 5star rating for their amazing scrub and wonderful service. We had lunch in the neighborhood and as we were walking past the Soapology to walk off some calories, the fragrance coming from the store instantly caught my attention and I had to stop by. - Their candle is amazing. Apparently, it is made with all natural ingredients and you can even rub the oil (it's not the normal candle wax that you expect!) on your skin and it smells and feels so good! - The scrub scrub scrub. OMG. So, the store representative invited us in for the scrub experience, and we tried out a bunch of their scrubs such as brown sugar, coffee, Creamy Bath Scrub Verbena & Ginger, and the AMAZING walnut scrub. Their walnut scrub is the best scrub I've tried and I had to purchase a large jar. You don't need to use a lot so a small jar will last you a long time and it is finely grated that it feels so heavenly against your skin. - Ask for samples. I got fragrance oil and soap. The soap was very smooth and melty, but I liked it. I am not really a soap bar person, but it felt pretty good. I didn't realize that there was a yelp check-in promotion going on, but yes do take advantage of that 20% coupon!

My wife and I went to Soapology. She picked up several items, and I questioned since my skin is dry and itchy. I had gotten to the point of taking antihistamines and various moisturizers to calm this nightmare. Soapology came to the rescue with olive oil-based soaps. After 2 showers, the itch was gone; no additional moisturizers. Thank you very much. I placed an order last night with a great salesperson, Rachel, who went above and beyond helping me with other olive oil-based soaps.

When you're a single lady around Valentine's, few things cure self esteem like a good pampering and retail therapy! Take care of two birds with one stone and head to Soapology. When you walk in, you are treated to a lovely hand treatment to try all their signature products. The smooth shower gel, the salt/sugar scrub, the walnut body polish, and the buttercream lotions. Soapology also carries bar soaps, soy candles (which double as hand lotion), massage oil, and perfume. But the BEST part about Soapology is the custom scents. Soapology carries shelves of essential oils which can be blended into a custom perfume - Kelly R. and I spend a hour here every year crafting the next year's perfect scent. (This year was a midnight orchid and white ginger amber blend for me.) While some may feel that a bar of soap should always come in a pack of 6 for $5, I'm a strong believer in handmade and paying for the amazing quality. The soaps are moisturizing and creamy and I live by the walnut body polish exfoliant. The customer service is the best - shoutout to Kate! and I'm a very happy repeat customer. Thanks Soapology!

Super cute little store full of soaps, scrubs, candles, lotions, and bath stuff. We stopped in this weekend since we were in the neighborhood and my sister has one of their products and loves it. The staff was super friendly and they walked us through a whole experience of their products. We all washed our hands in their body wash, then used a scrub, then another finer one, then lotion and then finally dabbed a bit of their candle oil on our skins, which the lady said is massage oil and their candles are low burning so the oil won't burn your skin. My hands have never felt softer. It smells amazing in the store. The hard part was picking a scent to buy since they have so many great ones, and of course which product. You could really spend hundreds here! Check in on Yelp for a 20% off coupon, that def helped!!

This place is the bath bomb! Really, it's amazing The sales lady knew her stuff and was so polite and not pushy. She offered a free sample of several products and was able to explicitly explain the benefits of each product. In addition, a consumer can create their own bath salt,scrub or lotion by adding a variety of different scents available. This was such a pleasant place to visit and shop.

I go to soapology everytime when I am in NYC. I am a huge fun of Verbena Ginger butter cream! Skin feels soft and smooth. They have lots of things that would make great gifts. Best part is that products are all natural and smell awesome. I always recommend this place to everyone. I'll be back to try out some other products.

AMAZING!!!! My custom made perfume oil has lasted me 9 months now and I still have some left. I did not get sick of it ever like I normally do with perfume and will be buying more when they re-open.

Me and my guy spent about a good 2 hours in here just looking for a diffuser for his room. The ladies were so helpful. Especially Rachel! We were looking for a scent that matched us both and complimented our favorite scent notes while being practical about it. Lol She walked us through all the diffuser scents and oils. She even helped us decided on customizing our favorite ones; while making some of her signature ones. We didn't even expect to come in and stay long. We ended up getting a diffuser for him. A customized scent for myself and another for his mum. I'm defiantly going to come back here for all of my Christmas gifts for family and friends. The staff is so friendly and really know there ish when it comes to mixing oils!

I've been passing this store for years; they often have someone standing outside handing out samples of soap, and I always take one. (The scent haunts me for days!) They also offer a free hand treatment, which I've only done once; basically, they scrub your palms with one of their aromatic cleansers, then finish with lotion. It's really neat. Today I got a jar of the Walnut Polisher, because I needed a scrub for my face. It's just great, with ground walnut shells as the active ingredient; a little more than I wanted to spend, but with Soapology I know all their products are vegan-certified, and I can pronounce all their ingredients. I was feeling a little extravagant, and I figured hey: you only have one face. It's great stuff.

Anastasia was super helpful and informative about all of the products. She did a demonstration with my sisters and mom. Their scrubs and lotions are amazing and the soy candle can be used as a body oil. The water lily scent was our favorite :) thanks Anastasia!

this beautiful shop is chock full of vegan, handmade soaps. there are plenty of samples to try out along with complimentary hand treatment by knowledgeable staff. i ended up getting a big bar of black soap for only $5 as well as some lavender soap as a gift for my roommate. definitely worth stopping in!

I ordered mini soaps for wedding favors here. I was planning on ordering something similar off of Etsy and happened to walk by Soapology. I stopped in expecting it to be too expensive, but they had comparable prices to any other shop I've looked at and the workers were all very friendly and helpful. Most of our guests are traveling to NYC just for the wedding, and I love the idea of giving them a locally made product. They were ready for pickup after a couple of days (I expected it to take a couple of weeks) and I absolutely love them!

The place looked like it had some amazing products, however, the employee (possibly owner) made us feel so uncomfortable. She just wouldn't leave us alone. We were kind, said thank you plenty of times to all the things she was telling us, and had told her if we have any questions we would let her know...but she kept going on and on. Then when my mom went to smell one of the candles on the shelf the employee practically scolded her and said "if you want to try anything out you have to let me know as you're not allowed to open any products. I completely understand...they don't want the product to break or whatever the reason is. I'm sorry but I'm not going to ask the employee to smell every single candle until I find one I like. Maybe some people don't mind having that type of experience...but I don't want to interact with you unless I actually have a question. They should seriously consider making TESTERS like any other beauty store out there has. After we were "scolded" we immediately left. Unfortunate, because the products are priced very reasonably and we probably would have ended up purchasing something. This owner has to realize that not everyone wants the same shopping experience... a "Hi, how are you. Let me know if you have any questions." is more than enough. If you're such a conversationalist...then go make friends instead of bringing it on your customers who don't want anything to do with you. Stop scaring away customers by being so pushy.

Nice lady, nice store, but would not honor 20% Yelp discount. A bunch of double talk, she grabbed my phone with great intensity, then shrugged her shoulders helplessly saying she doesn't know about Yelp discount. Oh well!

We found this place while we were walking around. We enjoyed the free hand scrub treatment. They really go all out with the scrubs, oils and lotions during the hand treatment. Even my finance enjoyed. Afterwards we bought a diffusor. The staff were very helpful reviewing their products. You can chose different scents or create your own. We picked white tea ginger. The staff informed us it's oil based so it last much longer. They also recommend to flip the reeds every once in awhile to ensure the scent diffuses evenly. We've had it for over 4 months and it's barely a quarter evaporated! It is worth the $35 as it last a very long time!

This is a really cute shop with quality products. I loved their scrubs. I got the brown sugar and my mom got the coffee...they made our skin so soft! The girl working was super informative and helpful! Would definitely recommend visiting!

I work in the neighborhood and walk by this store every day on my way to work. It always smells so great in there and I always want to check it out but never can because I'm headed to work. This evening however, after dinner with a friend, we walked by and i excitingly said, "omg i've always wanted to check this out." We went in and first thing, the sales girl was on her phone. No greeting at all. We showed ourselves around as she continued her conversation on her cell phone. after showing myself around I really wanted to purchase on of the scrubs. As I said to my friend let's try this one out the sale girl goes, " In case you haven't noticed, I'm closing the store. you can come back tomorrow." ARE U KIDDING ME!!!!! I replied by saying, exactly that. She then tells me to get the eff outta here, trust me I can not make this up. Mind you when I walked out the store it was 9:44pm and I was told they close at 10pm. How could she be closing at 9:44 and then have an attitude with me. This place will NEVER see my business. In addition, whom ever the owner is seriously needs to get rid of her because she clearly has no interest in making you money.

I walked across town yesterday to use a Soapology voucher I bought that is about to expire. When I arrived at 1:00 pm, the lights were on & I could see a jacket on the chair at the register, but the door was locked. There was no sign on the door, but I figured the saleswoman was in the loo or grabbing lunch. Given I live 30 min away, I walked around for a bit, walked back to the store & still no one was inside & the door was locked. I walked around for another 20 minutes, walked back & I saw a young woman at the back of the store. She came toward the front register & I thought she was walking to it to buzz me in, so I tried to open the door again, but it was still locked. I continued to wait at the door & a few seconds later she walked toward the door & stuck up four fingers. I looked at her in a confused manner because I had no idea what she was trying to say. She finally opened the door to say unapologetically that the store was closed until 4:00 pm (hence the four fingers) and shut the door. Taking a trip out of my way to find the store was closed is a stroke of bad luck, but what really irks me is: 1) there was no sign on the door to indicate the store was closed - this would not have saved me the trip, but it would have saved me the half hour I wasted waking around waiting for someone to open the store 2) the saleswoman was extremely rude I returned today to find a different salesperson who was friendly & helpful. When I asked about why the store was closed yesterday, she told me the register had stopped working & so the store was closed for an hour or so (not 3+ hours as I'd been told when I was there yesterday). Despite my more pleasant encounter today, I won't be returning to Soapology because of my initial experience plus the fact that there was nothing particularly special about it. The candles smelled nice. The walnut polisher I tried on my hands had a nice texture, so I bought it, but since leaving the store the backs of my hands have felt raw all day, so I definitely won't be able to use it on my face as intended.

I am always a sucker for nice smelling soaps, candles, lotions, etc. So while wandering around the West Village this weekend, we passed by Soapology and decided to stop in. For a small store, they really have a lot to offer. The sales ladies are very sweet and informative. Without them, I would not have known about all of their fragrances that you can customize. Like other reviewers had mentioned, they offer you a free hand treatment in the back of the store over their clawfoot tub. The hubby and I participated, I tried scents like lavender and brown sugar, while my hubby went for the coffee and tobacco scents. We were blown away by how soft our hands felt afterwards. We spent the rest of the day rubbing our hands and commenting on how good our skin felt. I walked out of there with the walnut polisher, which according to the other reviews sounds like the fan favorite. But I am still kicking myself for not getting one of their soy candles that melts into massage oil. Seriously? Its the craziest thing I have seen! (ok, maybe not the CRAZIEST, but still pretty cool) If you are out walking around this neighborhood, Soapology is definitely worth stopping in.

Honestly, the products in this place are wonderful. The smells and atmosphere are so delicious. I have to be honest and say a major downfall is the saleswoman. She is WAY too aggressive. Like beyond. She won't stop talking or give you the opportunity to think and browse. She is forcing products on you and trying way too hard to over-sell you. I would have bought some stuff yesterday but she just overwhelmed my friend and I to the point where we had to leave. This place smells amazing! Soaps and candles in every color and smell imaginable. Service is very friendly as well. We were offered a hand-washing demonstration with various soaps and boy did our hands feel great afterward! There is also this cool candle where you can pour the wax on your skin to moisturize it (it's not that hot!) We left without buying anything (it is pretty pricey) but the friendly salesman loaded us up with free candle and scrub samples on our way out!

I was walking by this store yesterday and caught a wiff of the aromas inside....so of course I stopped in. I love nice smelling candles, lotions, etc.. THe problem with most of these yummy smelling products is the scents never last long enough.... but finally an exception! I bought a body spray that I can still smell on my clothes... and I love it! The prices are high... but totally worth it! I'll be coming back to buy the body scrub and lotion.

So for any of you keeping score at home (and why would you), I'm a dude. This means that it's at least relatively unlikely that I'd end up lingering in Soapology...but thanks to dessert lover and some time to kill on my recent trip the New York, here we were, face-to-face with a European accent, a giant rinsing tub and possibility. Apparently, it's a more than a name...there appears to be science at play here, and somewhere between the various varieties of scrubs and exfoliants, rinses and processes at play, a funny thing happened. My hands became, and this is not a metaphor, ridiculously smooth. Like a 'baby's butt would be jealous of how smooth' smooth. If you're wondering, that's like ridiculously, almost criminally soft and I can see how weaker individuals might walk out with a precipitously light wallet...almost floating. And that didn't happen to us. We got the one exfoliant that the dessert lover couldn't do without. But we also stared at our hands for two hours. And that's more than weird...it's a little revelatory.
