"Soby’s, with its original warehouse interiors, remains an anchor of going out in Greenville. Crab cakes with haricots verts and sweet corn maque choux never disappoint. The shrimp and grits have been written about a thousand times and there’s a vegetable plate that even omnivores order. Soby’s may shine brightest at Saturday brunch when the brick patio fills up. Also, if a bottle of champagne is ordered at brunch, four pieces of fried chicken with sides will arrive, complements of the kitchen." - Stephanie Burnette

"The restaurant that started downtown Greenville’s meteoric rise is an iconic place for weekend brunch in the heart of the Main Street district. Soby’s brick patio is a place to see-and-be-seen and two of its best entrees are also on the brunch menu: shrimp and grits and crab cakes. Table 301’s flagship restaurant offers friendly, adept service and a wine list that is deep and varied, under the helm of corporate beverage director and sommelier Joe Crossan. There’s an extravagant Grand Mimosa comprised of Perrier-Jouët, OJ, and a splash of Grand Marnier." - Stephanie Burnette

One of my new favorite places for sure! We had a table upstairs which was great for us, a little bit quieter. The waiter suggested a crab cake appetizer and She-Crab soup. So that's what we did. I had the Halibut entree and my husband had the Shrimp and Grits. Everything was on point! The sommelier, Robert, helped us find a bottle of wine to compliment the meal, and the price of the wine was less than we had anticipated. To finish the evening we shared a piece of Banana Cream Pie - it was worth the extra calories. If you're looking for a comfortable setting to have some amazing food then this is it!

First of all, I want to mention that I have eaten here before and have enjoyed delicious food. We think maybe they were just having a bad night (?) For starters, I ordered the fried brussel sprouts with goat cheese, and it was absolutely scrumptious! The best thing I'd had all night. For the main course, I ordered the crab cakes, and my husband ordered the special, which was sword fish. After a few bites, my husband noticed that his fish was raw on the inside. He said it was as if it was frozen and had been heated up. Instead of sending it back, he just ate around the raw part. Before we could walk back to the car, he had an extreme bathroom emergency and still doesn't feel good today. My crab cakes were very mushy and seemed to have not been cooked long enough. It was not tasty at all, and neither were the mashed potatoes or the rest of the meal. We thought our plates came out too quickly for meals that were supposedly cooked by a chef. I was highly disappointed as this was my birthday dinner. (BTW, they don't do anything special for a birthday diner.) I'm not sure if I'll go back, which is also disappointing as this used to be one of my favs! Total = $145.00

Google
Unapologetically delicious. We started with a bowl of she crab soup, went with the trio for the main (shrimp and grits, crab cakes, and braised short rib), and finished with the banana cream pie. It was all absolutely outstanding. And don't sleep on the old fashioned. Its worth very penny.

Google
Soby’s was recommended by many folks. Tried it with friends and had a great experience. Good service, great food. Unique flavor combos in many of their dishes. Great wine list. Recommend reservations esp on weekends. It’s a well established restaurant in the community.

Google
This place was amazing! The food was excellent. The staff was great. Will definitely return here if we’re ever in the area again. I had the mushroom and grits dish which was phenomenal! and my partner had the chicken. Everything that we ordered was amazing.

Google
Cool vibe and great food. The Croque Monsieur (French Ham & Cheese) & Chopped Salad were great. Chicken Sandwich was good...all bit of fat on the breast. The real hit was the $3 Mimosa & Pecan Sticky Bun. Service was super friendly.

Google
10/10. First time here for me and my wife had been here years ago pre-covid. Our wonderful waiter "Soup" or David who has been there since they opened, was fantastic. I had heard thru the grapevine that the shrimp and grits, crab cakes, and fried green tomatoes were essential. So we started with the tomatoes and i ordered the 1/2&1/2 feature. What a great way to split up the best items on the menu. My wife ordered the braised beef short rib. All we can say is wow. That was my first time having shrimp and grits because I just dont like grits. I enjoyed every single bite. The crab cake pairs so well with the sweet corn maque choux. The best crab cake I've ever ate. I cant let my mother in law know. Shes big on the crab cakes from Baltimore but I think if she trys it, she will agree its the best. The truffle mac and cheese was good but just wasnt a fan of the ham so next time we will go with the cheddar Mac and cheese. My wife loved her entree and the collard were delicious. Soup was hilarious and just overall a great waiter. Greg the bartender is fantastic and knows how to make a superior drink!

Google
The food was delicious. The service was efficient. The atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommend to anyone in downtown for the evening. I had the fried green tomatoes appetizer and the braised short rib entree. Both were fresh, hot, and flavorful. I can’t wait to come back again.

Yelp
We've gone here a few times before shows at the Peace Center. It's just a couple blocks away. This last time, as usual, it was packed. We asked for a table for three and we were seated right away. The pork belly appetizer was amazingly delicious. I'd make the drive back just for that. Try it. Really Husband had the short ribs. He got his plate and we didn't hear another word from him til his plate was empty. Grandson loved the crab cakes. I had the veggies. Pretty good! The cabbage was a tad too vinegary but that didn't stop me from eating it. Try this place when you're in the area. Delicious food every time.

Yelp
You can tell that Soby has established itself as a strong withstanding restaurant in the Main St Greenville area. A good restaurant to stop by with family, including kids and grandparents, as there is something on the menu for everyone. While the cuisine, itself, isn't extraordinary, it is consistently good. What we found impressive is their attention to evolve with a) the times and b) the growing diversity of greenville's visitors and new residents. There's action being taken to meet consumers' interests, such as incorporating more local ingredients (like South Carolina Peaches on the French toast) and creative culinary dishes, like the salmon avocado toast. The shrimp and grits had plenty of shrimp, and satisfied both appetite and hunger. While TopSoil in Traveler's Rest had a superb Shrimp and Grits, Sobys certainly met the expectations.

Yelp
I really wanted to LOVE this place considering the reviews but I felt like it was just pretty average. We went twice and both times it the hosts were not very pleasant, and the first time our server was super dismissive. I will say the second time our server was very sweet and attentive! The food was good, we went for breakfast one day and then did dinner another night. The breakfast/brunch was fine. Coffee was good, and our server was saying how amazing their French toast was, I thought it was underwhelming at best. The presentation is beautiful but the actual flavor was a bit bland. The shrimp and grits was a hit though, highly recommend!

Jake P.

Yelp
Excellent experience in every aspect! The service was stellar and classy. The food was absolutely delicious. I had Brussels and shrimp with a bourbon Bloody Mary. What a southern brunch! The interior space is awesome...very well restored and historic

Jeff B.

Yelp
Really good exoerience. We felt a bit rushed by our waiter but he was nice. Food was good. The starters were a favorite with boudin balls and an order of pimento cheese. We would recommend.

Grace E.

Yelp
It was good! Everything could have been a little warmer... our waitress was super nice and quick! Crab cakes were not the best I've ever had, but I still ate it all and left relatively happy. Cocktail menu was great.

Jade W.

Yelp
I thought I shared about my wonderful experience at Soby's. There was a lot right next to the restaurant that was valet and operated by tip-based. The gentlemen were very nice.    I loved the atmosphere. There's outside patio seating, and then the inside is open. They also have an upstairs, which is where we sat. It was small but nice for a small group dining affair. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. They also provided great service.   The crab cake with the remoulade was delicious. It was a good size as well. The caesar salad was amazing, along with the cheddar biscuits. The braised short rib was really good. The macaroni and cheese was okay. Overall, the food tasted great, seemed of good quality, and was well prepared.

Madison M.

Yelp
Sobys is a downtown GVL staple for good reason. Above all though I love their weekend brunch. The shrimp and grits just won best in all of sc which is a big deal!!! They're sooo good with the best Tasso gravy and andouille sausage. The fried green tomato Benedict never misses either. The brunch cocktails are great and you can even get house mimosas or bloody Mary's for $3.01 each. Pretty awesome!

Bre C.

Yelp
My partner & I stopped in at Sobys for a nice cocktail on the patio. Our waiter was amazing! He was attentive and even made wonderful drink suggestions. He even provided us with free bread as we enjoyed our drinks and the local music going on the street. It was such a wonderful night to spend outside enjoying drinks and people watching.

Sarah V.

Yelp
One of my all time favorite restaurants in downtown Greenville!! I have been here several times and always look forward to coming back. They have the BEST She Crab Soup! Everything I have ordered from here has been beyond excellent. They never fail to disappoint. Great atmosphere and top notch service. It is on the pricier side or else I would come here more often, but definitely worth the price for the quality of the food and the service and just the atmosphere. Makes for a great romantic date night spot with your spouse! Love love love! Highly recommend!

Lorraine M.

Yelp
Soby's is always a fantastic experience! The inside is beautiful and inviting. The service we received from our waiter was amazing. He was knowledgeable about all of the menu items and shared which items were his favorites. He was attentive and ensured we had whatever we needed. Of course the best part is the food. I had the crab cakes which melt in your mouth. They rival those I've had in Maryland. We tried the Boudin balls for the first time and they were very good as well. And who can forget the cheese biscuits. Always a must stop when I'm in Greenville!

Jennifer H.

Yelp
The food and ambience was amazing! Our waitress Rachel was so kind, funny and helpful!! We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes for an appetizer and they were to die for! The batter was light and crispy and d the sauce was to die for! For our entrees we ordered the Scallops and the Shrimp and Grits! Beyond amazing!!! It's the best meal we've had so far in Greenville! I'm sure we will go back before our trip ends!

Devi M.

Yelp
Had dinner here recently and we really enjoyed it! Between 2 of us we had the she-crab soup, shrimp & grits, pork tenderloin, side salad and broccolini side. Everything was very tasty. I do wish the she-crab soup was a little larger portion as it was so creamy and flavorful I simply wanted more of it. Good service, nice atmosphere.

Maria-Elena T.

Yelp
Made a reservation on Opentable. Stated it was business on the reservation so was surprised we were seated at a table in the middle row of tables and closest to the station where all the food comes out. Most of the tables were empty when we were seated. Very disappointed and by the time I realized how hard it was to talk/hear, it was too late; the place had filled up. Started with the Lady Diana cocktail which was delicious. It used a fresh cold pressed juice from down the street. I would get this again. We split two appetizers between three of us. The Fried green tomatoes were salty but good. Perfectly breaded. Mushrooms were creamy from the beans and amazing. But also too salty. I was starting to feel full so I only got the soup and a side of broccolini. Plus I had to save room for the banana cream pie, of course. The soup was rich and delicious. I could taste the Sherry. broccolini was cooked to perfection. Loved the pie too. Would get these three again!

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Dinner with friends was lovely. Waiter was attentive and anticipated needs. Fried green tomato appetizer was delicious. Couldn't decide between crab cakes and shrimp and grits, so waiter suggested a half order of each. Perfect!

Denise A.

Yelp
Ambiance is fun! We sat on the patio as the weather was great for sitting outside. Service was great; enjoyed the short rib; looking forward to exploring the menu more

Phillip S.

Yelp
My wife and I went here around Valentine's Day. The wine menu is huge and well priced. The place has a really neat interior and is way bigger on the inside than it appears. Our service was okay which was pretty comparable for the night in general. My wife and I both ordered the short ribs. They weren't bad, but for almost $40 my expectation is higher than not bad. I thought overall the food was okay and at the price points they charge we won't be back.

Elle P.

Yelp
We were in the area visiting several colleges and so glad we checked out Soby's. We tried several dishes such as the pork belly and chips, pork chops, brussels sprouts, and crab cakes. Everything was delicious. We especially liked talking to Brion - he was charming and lovely. A great place!

Stuart O.

Yelp
Has dinner here for the second time - first was a few years back and remember enjoying it. Went back tonight and had a wonderful meal and time. Late spring weather was perfect on the large outside patio with a view of busy Main Street. Had several wines by the glass that were excellent. For dinner; my wife had trout and I had the filet - both well prepared and seasoned. But the show stopper was the she crab soup and the strawberry buratta salad. Both superb. The white chocolate banana pudding was a perfect ending to this outstanding meal. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
This review will be different than most, as I came here on a business trip with about 30 people. Our group took up an entire section upstairs and multiple staff, so your experience will most likely vary quite a bit. First, let's start with the staff: We were seated very promptly upon our arrival, which is always good to see that they have things ready for a large group rather than 30 people waiting in the lobby filling up the doorway. So kudos on that to start with. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Drinks were refilled promptly and bussing was also done quickly as well, which helps keep a large group table clear for the next round. The Food: We had a pre-set menu with smaller choices than the regular menu. We were presented with the Charcuterie Board, the pimento Cheese and the Calamari for our appetizers. All of which were great, but the star of the show was that Pimento Cheese. As a displaced Texan, I was super happy with this dish! I asked the waitress which dishes they were known for and ended up going with the She-Crab Soup and the Crab Cakes. Yes, double crab, don't judge me. Both dishes were amazing, super happy with these choices based on our abbreviated menu. for dessert I chose the Cheesecake, because I'm a sucker for cheesecake. During the time I was visiting it was peach harvest season so Peach Cheesecake it was. With the peaches being so fresh it was quite tasty, no complaints here. The Joint: Pretty cool old building, lots of brick and old world feel here. The kitchen seemed oddly located right smack dab in the middle of everything, which is cool, but as a professional kitchen designer, it could use a facelift and a good scrubbing. Looking down from the loft above where we were seated you could really see the hustle and bustle of the kitchen staff, as well as see all the nitty-gritty. It's cool, but like I said, could use a facelift and a good cleaning. The downfall of such a prominent kitchen is, you gotta keep it looking the part. To cap this off, I really enjoyed my visit here and loved the food. I'd recommend this place to anyone passing through or anyone who is a local.

Jimmy J.

Yelp
Consistent experiences over the years (food quality, service, atmosphere). Overall, I enjoy Soby's; I dine here almost every time I come to Greenville. I would love to see the fried catfish back on the permanent menu... it ranks as one of the best I've ever had.

Ules D.

Yelp
Appetizers: 4/5. Highly recommend The fried green tomatoes and calamari but the grilled octopus fell short in terms of portion. We had 4 small pieces for $18. Dinner: 5/5 we ordered the shrimp n grits, crab cakes and fried chicken. All were amazing. Server: 5/5 Donny was awesome. He was personable, talkative and knew a lot of Greta recommendations.

Michael C.

Yelp
Back in town for a meeting and I'd been hearing the hype on Soby's so we decided to check it out. Not open on Monday, so we set a reservation for Tuesday. We were greeted from a cheerful staff who paid attention to our needs, but weren't hovering or distracted (a great balance for places these days). I can't say enough about the biscuits that they start you off with, so I'll be brief, they are wonderful! The Mushroom app was terrific, with a sherry glaze that really zoomed the flavor of the fungi and the crispy kale gave it a counter balance that was delish. I am such a fan of Pimento Cheese we had to dive in to this unique presentation. While not so much a fan of Okra, the pickled accompaniment was tasty. We shared our main, the Quail, which was enough for us after our starters (and those heavenly biscuits). The bird came with a creamy potato base and had a seasoned cornbread Stuffing. The pearl onions and asparagus were a nice side. Our only complaint was the sour cherry wasn't drizzled on, it was a bit more of a large pour, which overwhelmed the other seasonings and spices. All in all, we would say the hype is deserved and the trip to Greenville more complete because of the meal.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Overall, it was a 5* experience on my visit. I was at a staff retreat and looking for a place to eat for the diverse palettes, and Toby's was recommended by locals and Yelp reviews, so definitely a must try. I was not disappointed with my choice from start to finish. We were greeted immediately with a friendly smile and welcome. The environment is warm and beautifully decorated. I jeard there is a secret room, but dodnt get to view as they jad a private party. We had reservations and were immediately seated. Our waiter greeted us quickly and with much cheer and was full of suggestions for meals and wine. We were all satisfied with our meals. I had the Rivers Green salad and Sherry glaze mushrooms for my entree. Best mushrooms I've had. They were well cooked without being mushy, and the bread with it was crispy and seasoned. other table mates had the short ribs and snapper and were all happy. We ordered 4 desserts for the table and were over impressed. We had the waiter recommended banana cream pie, pumpkin cheese cake, pecan pie, and chocolate creme brulee. All delicious. I am planning a trip just to eat in Greenville with Soby's high on the list. If the pumpkin cheesecake is on the menu, don't hesitate, order immediately.

Chelsea R.

Yelp
Had to grab brunch before heading home from a full weekend of wedding festivities and so much good food. We were at Soby's for the welcome party on Friday but we didn't get the chance to eat here. It was right across the street from our hotel so I wanted to check out their brunch. They have a great patio for warmer weather and they have upstairs and downstairs seating inside. The kitchen is open so it's fun to be able to watch the chefs cooking up the food. What we ordered: Lemon Ricotta & Blueberry Pancakes - Fresh lemon, ricotta and blueberry maple syrup. I got these and they were so light and fluffy. I wanted more syrup but I'm sure I could have asked for it. Fried Bologna Sandwich - Bologna, American Cheese, Fried Egg, Dukes Mayo, Crispy Potatoes. I tried a bite of this and it was what you would expect a fried bologna sandwich, and it was tasty. Crispy Fried Chicken Biscuit- Buttermilk Biscuit, Sausage Gravy, Herbs. I didn't try this but everyone who ordered it said it was delicious. I do wish they'd had a larger selection for brunch. The menu seemed limited to me and it would have been nice to have other options for picky eaters (not me, haha!)

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Food was great and wait staff very attentive. Based on crowd and size we expected it ti be noisy, but we were pleasantly surprised. We had a really nice evening and food experience.

Hannah D.

Yelp
Greenville staple. Awesome wine list - overwhelmingly long but they'll help you through it if you ask. Their fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits are necessary every time you go in my opinion.

Scott M.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place, based on some of the prior reviews. In truth it was just OK, and not nearly as good as other local places for southern style cuisine. I started off with the She Crab Soup. It was thick and sort of flavorless, with just of few hints of thin crab meat. My wife got the Fried Green Tomatoes. She in a true aficionado of this southern delicacy, and has tried samples from over a least 100 different places over the years. She said at best these were at best OK, and would not order them again. For my entree I got the mussels mariniere appetizer with an add on crab cake, as none of the entrees really enticed me. The sauce was thick and without balance and flavor. It needed more acid and spice at the very least to cut through all that cream and fat, as mussels are really a blank canvas. The crab cake add on, was cold, obviously reheated and not freshly prepared, and did not have jumbo lump crab, but rather small crab bits. Definite hard pass in the future. My wife got the fried chicken which was quite good. Her macaroni was certainly nonstandard and inedible. Service was fine, and ambiance is nice.

Lori A.

Yelp
The service, food, cocktails and wine were all outstanding. The boudin balls were the best I have ever enjoyed! The sommelier was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and helped us select a perfect bottle in our price range. We had our 9, 7, and 3 year old children with us, and the service was just as inviting as it would have been for an adults only table. Cannot recommend the shrimp and grits and the crab cake highly enough!

Erika W.

Yelp
High top tables are first come first served Valet parking based on tips You can make reservations Seating inside and out Just one sheet menu

Mike L.

Yelp
Phenomenal service and fantastic food. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful bartender. Fantastic recommendations that were not just the most expensive items but his actual favorites. We will be heading back in the future.

Mandi B.

Yelp
The best of the best in Greenville. Everything is always spot on. Tried one of their new apps last night, pork belly, blue cheese sauce, balsamic and green onions on kettle chips OUTSTANDING. She crab soup is awesome very intense sherry flavor and there is a good amount of crab in it. My husband and I both got the tyger River salad with chicken, mine grilled and his fried and they were both delicious. We didn't save room for dessert but we've had some of them before and know they are good. The place is always packed but its comfy and warm inside. A must try when in town!

Christine B.

Yelp
Delicious food and outstanding service. We had had a rough afternoon walking in (long "Murphy's Law" story: challenging/unforeseen issues which led to multiple missed events, dropped credit card, etc.). Our server, Eric, went above and beyond to ensure our time here ended on a positive note. He and Kyle gave us a nice perk at the end of the meal to stick the landing for the evening. We'll be back for sure.

Sylvia T.

Yelp
OK peeps here's the scoop. I'm from California and I absolutely love this place. My daughter lives here and she had never been here either so we thought we would take a stroll and we came to Sobey's. The people there are so friendly. The food is absolutely delicious beyond @10+ plus plus. Our server Alicia was the best and very intuitive. We went there for our birthdays month ,both of us and she treated us so kind and the desert was to die for. We also had the pleasure of meeting Ken who gave us a secret tour of the wine cellar. Let us not forget to mention the playlist that they have is so fun from the 70s . Guess where I'll be going for my actual birthday. Wether you live here in Greenville or you're visiting you need to come here

Alexandra P.

Yelp
Delicious food and great ambiance! We made a reservation here for a Friday night for 4 people. Our server, "Soup," was quite the character but took good care of us. The biscuits you start with are unreal, I could have made a meal out of those easily. The mushroom appetizer was also unbelievable. I'm not a huge fan of duck, but my husband ordered it and wanted a second helping! I really enjoyed the crab cakes! The wine list was well varied, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Check them out!

Craig D.

Yelp
Server - Amy Excellent. Perfectly timed. Meal - Saturday Brunch What would we order again? Pecan Cinnamon Roll Short Rib Hash Crab Cake Bagel and Lox BUT tell them to cut the tomatoes thick. The tomato's were cut so thin they were mush.

Richard T.

Yelp
I eat there at least once week when I travel for business. The service is excellent as well as the food.

Lori L.

Yelp
We had another wonderful experience here. I made reservations online which is always a good idea! The staff is so friendly! Amanda was our server and she was amazing. Super attentive and sweet. We started off with the brussel sprouts which I highly recommend. The goat cheese was so smooth and creamy and the ham that came with it was crispy and so flavorful. We also got the calamari and it was a generous portion and the breading was so light and airy. I got the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and they were so plump. I added some hot sauce to it. My friend got the fried chicken and absolutely loved it. We got the passionfruit cheesecake and I took a bite. It was very tart but so smooth and creamy. This place is a must when coming to Greenville.

Foodie G.

Yelp
We had the she crab soup which was delicious. Lots of sherry and crab taste. The seared salmon was slightly charred and dry. The white chocolate banana cream pie had chunks of banana and so much white chocolate..... So good!!!

Chris G.

Yelp
Downtown, you have so many choices. The sure fire best choice is Soby's. I have had so much off the menu it's crazy, but there Crab cakes, the shrimp and grits are awesome. If you get a chance you have to have their holiday brunch. It will keep you coming back.

Antwon C.

Yelp
We had only tried Soby's during Fall for Greenville. but we decided to give them a try during restaurant week. Started with she crab soup it was really good. Next had the lamb that came over grits. The lamb was tender and flavorful the grits were creamy. I wasn't a fan of the carrots undercooked and bland.Lastly, I had the strawberry and cream cake. It was moist. I would definitely return.

Shawn B.

Yelp
I was joined by over ten co-workers for a team dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed, food great, and service was great. They also have Mocktails available for those who do not drink alcohol and they taste great! They have vegetarian options which also tasted great. The service we received was top notch and I would highly recommend this establishment.

Linda P.

Yelp
You CANNOT go wrong with Soby's. Attentive staff who obviously enjoy being employees. Varied menu to satisfy any craving. Excellently prepared dishes and lovely presentations. Extensive wine, beer and cocktail offerings. Noise level gets too loud but it's endurable. And speaking of staff: we have our faves. "Soup" which he says is short for "Super Dave" and our #1 character-Keri. She is like one of the family-delightful, informative and just the right touch of sarcasm to keep us on our toes!

Big E.

Yelp
We were at Soby's celebrating my birthday, with my beautiful wife! As always, the food was superb! We had the wedge salad and she crab soup for appetizers! They were very tasty and pleasing to the palette! Oh and we also tried the appetizer, shrimp and grits. For entrees, we had the fried chicken and the crab cakes! We had the peach cheesecake to go! The service was excellent. Zack was very attentive, pleasant, polite and professional! He had a great sense of humor and lots of energy! The ambiance was electrifying and energetic. I apologize that I didn't have more pictures.

Pearl W.

Yelp
The marinated beets & arugula salad was so good that even my husband loved the sample I shared with him. (He never liked beets before, so kudos to Soby's.) The serving of chicken breast was very tender, juicy, tasty but not salty- just right. I would definitely order this again. The salad doesn't come with any meat. I requested grilled chicken breast. His pear, pecan, goat cheese salad with grilled salmon was a generous size, juicy & seasoned just right, not slathered with butter or salt. His salad was delicious as well. The salad doesn't come with a protein. He requested grilled salmon. The peach cheesecake was yummy, sweet but not too sweet. Nice presentation as well. In summary, we plan to return to Soby's to order the same menu items, since they were delicious. The wait time was short to average. Our waitress was helpful & cheerful. Great experience all around.

Yelp
GREAT waitress, the best dirty martini. Accommodated our large group last minute on a Friday. Got us in and out for our peace center show. Will come back!

Yelp
A group of us came to Soby's for dinner. We were celebrating the retirement of a friend and coworker. The inside of Soby's is really cool. I love the wood floor and beams. Soby's was packed for a Monday night, which probably speaks to the restaurant's reputation. Some of the things that stood out to me: A great wine list, top notch service, great, and a bustling atmosphere. We ordered three appetizers for the table. Crispy Ham And Brussels Sprouts, Crispy Fried Calamari, and Grilled Octopus. Of them I preferred the calamari. The brussel's sprouts were (to me) a take on brussel's sprouts and bacon, just not as flavorful as I've had before. The octopus had a pretty nice texture, but the pale, red sauce that it was doused in was missing something (acid). I hemhawed (hawed the hem?) about ordering several items and was really leaning toward the shrimp and grits. I ended up ordering Duck Confit because duck is delicious and not found at most restaurants. The duck came with Sea Island baked red peas, baby arugula, and an orange vinaigrette. The red peas were pretty good, slightly sweet with an interesting flavor. The duck was cooked almost too much. It would have been falling off the bone if it had contained more moisture, but the edges were crispy. Overall it was bland and needed salt badly. The vinaigrette helped add a little flavor, but not enough. At least three others at the table ordered the filet and the consensus was that it was some of the best steak they had eaten in recent memory. The shrimp and grits were reported to be great as well. A few people at the table finished with key lime cheesecake, which I was told was delicious. Lastly but not leastly, the service was great despite the sheer number of customers requiring service.

Yelp
Delicious food. Great service. Beautiful building. This is an easy four star for me. The only negative I have is the ambient noise. The brick walls are amazing and the open dining hall stunning, but the reverberations from all the conversations around the restaurant make dinner conversation a challenge. The food is everything you expect from a restaurant like this. Keep in mind you're paying for it, but the prices here are in range for this level. I was around $55/person including tip. I heard lots about the she crab soup ahead of time and it didn't disappoint. Rich and flavorful. I would go back just for that. My sea bass was equally good. I loved every bite. The crawfish rice was subtle alongside and the green beans had a nice snap to them, not flimsy like most restaurant beans. For dessert, which I did not have room for but finished anyway, I went with the signature white chocolate banana cream pie and that was the perfect ending to a great dinner. My last comment is our server was a delight, charming and funny, he was genuine and took great care of our party. I'm hoping to return!

Yelp
My husband and I ate here as part of restaurant week and it was delicious! We also tried their two mocktails which were delicious! For our appetizers I got the crab soup and he got the brussel sprout salad! Both of them were SO good and we ended up going halfsies! For our entrees we each got the fried chicken which was amazing and I will 10/10 come back for it. It was coated in a hot honey and served with black truffle. It came with two sides: mac and cheese and broccolini, both were delicious! I got the vanilla bean cheesecake which was amazing and my husband got the brown butter pecan pie! Our server was quick to refill our glasses and our food was well paced. The ambiance of the restaurant is elegant and upscale with an open kitchen that you can view from above if seated on the second floor, which is a neat touch! I sadly did not get any pictures. Which I am sad about because it was such a good meal it deserved to be documented!
