We had my brother’s wedding dinner at Socarrat, and it was wonderful! Mila was so helpful in planning the event, which we had in their private upstairs room. And Luis was the absolute best waiter who took the best care of us all evening. The whole staff was kind, accommodating, and gracious. And the food was delicious!! Highly recommend

Best Spanish meal outside of Spain! My husband and I love it here and make a point to visit whenever we’re in NYC. Tonight we had the squid ink paella special & the dark chocolate mousse. Both were phenomenal!

The squid and rice dish provided a delightful culinary experience, but the highlight was undoubtedly the lamb shoulder, noted for its remarkable tenderness and rich flavor. The garlic shrimp also deserves special mention; it is rightfully one of the most sought-after items on the menu. The combination of this dish with crusty bread created an exceptional harmony of textures and tastes that enhanced the dining experience. We celebrated a birthday at this restaurant, and as a thoughtful gesture, they offered us complimentary champagne, which added a memorable touch to the celebration. It was an extraordinary occasion that we will not soon forget!

I loved this place so much! Definitely recommend it for a date night or a get together with friends or family. The atmosphere, the music, the food & drinks were amazing! Our service was immaculate thanks to Arturo, he guided us through the menu and made sure we had the best experience. I would definitely come back!

4.5/5 stars. We discovered Soccarat while exploring the neighborhood and were drawn in by its appeal. Since it was going to rain, we skipped the outdoor patio and were warmly greeted by the staff inside. We ordered a few beers, a glass of wine, and two cocktails - the Oxacaqueno and Mezquino, both of which were well-made. The small plates were a highlight, with the patatas bravas, chorizo con garbanzos, datiles, and coles de bruselas all being great. The pulpo a la Gallega was tasty, though it could have been less chewy. We also shared two servings of paella, which was plenty for our group of four. To top it off, the host surprised us with complimentary desserts - the flan and churros were delicious. Given the amount of food and the happy hour deal, the price was a great value. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. It’s great for big groups. Kids allowed.

Cozy place and nice spanish cuisine experience , food is the main character today! , we started with some appetizers( Tapas) , main a beautiful tasty paella Alicante style ( good socarrat ) , and finished with amazing churros , planing to coming back !

Arturo was awesome! The service, chats, and food were all great. I loved it there; the food was so good, especially the paella. We got a nice Moscato on the house. Great place!

Sararrat was just what we needed--great food and good conversation. The paella was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The "endless mimosas" offer at $29 per person for an hour felt a bit steep, especially considering the price for paella was $35 per person. But overall, the food was good and the service was warm and attentive.

My family came from out of town and we wanted some authentic Spanish food. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered a healthy number of tapas and three paellas. The Arroz Negro Paella was definitely worth it. The other two were ok. The tapas were great and came out fairly quickly. I really did enjoy the croquettes and the chorizo. If you're in the area, and want a place to grab a drink during happy hour, give this place a try.

i've been to this location multiple times and every time I absolutely love the food and the atmosphere. This location has two floors the first floor, which is a little bit smaller and then a top floor, which is great for big groups (they even have an outdoor patio perfect in the warmer weather!! I always get some tapas to start and you really can't go wrong with any of the options and a paella to share which is so delicious. the staff is very friendly and accommodating to any dietary restrictions and the one thing i love about here is on their menu they specifically call out gluten-free dishes - so unique compared to other restaurants!

First time here...had lunch special. The salad was good...the standard paella was tasty, but a lot of "burnt" in the pan that gets scraped and eaten...I'll assume it's okay to eat the charred rice, or whatever it is. I'd probably go back, and try a different paella.

Yikes... underwhelmed? Go somewhere else. Especially for restaurant week. $70 for a paella that serves 2, ours came with a large portion stuck to the pan. Too much stuck. We had no leftovers, and we eat small portions, and this came after 2 shared appetizers. Shrimp app and chorizo app were decent, but underwhelming. The bread they were served with was way too soft to dip, and neither were anything special. That being said, the shrimp app was much better than on the seafood paella as the shrimp was severely overcooked and dry. Scallops were the only thing good. The last thing for restraint week was 2 desserts, so we did 2 churros as we're not fans of flan. They were wildly small and the chocolate was nothing like Spanish chocolate. At the end, they offered to put us in a raffle for a free brunch.... But we don't want brunch here after a bad meal. Sorry.

This Socarrat location is the best of them due to the fine staff, excellent atmosphere and wonderful paellas of a wide variety. 2.5 years living in Madrid, and many visits to Valencia, means I miss Spain. Soccarat is a good reminder of how great Spain is. Happy Hour there, into dinner, is a great plan for ASAP!

I really enjoyed this place. The food was really good. We especially loved the pan con tomate and the paella. The shrimp and calamari were standouts too. The place is really cute and it was pretty quiet on a Saturday night. Definitely a good spot when you need a last minute reservation. I think the menu is a little on the pricey side, but I would definitely go back. Staff were very nice too.

A friend and I came here for the winter 2024 restaurant week lunch special for $30 per person, toward the end of the restaurant week event I made a reservation in advance and am glad I did even on a weekday. We were seated right away and it seemed like there were only about 16 seats at the tables. I did notice staircases toward the back but not sure if there's additional seating on another level. The restaurant week menu that was linked and posted directly on the NYC official restaurant week showed a 3-course $30 lunch special. But when we went there and were given the menus, the restaurant week menu only showed 2-courses for $30. When we asked the first waiter about this, he had no idea what we were talking about and said it's only 2-courses. I flagged down another waiter to ask and he knew what about the mistake and apologized saying that the wrong menu was posted online. This was disappointing. Food: The garlic shrimp was delicious. It was sizzling on the hot plate as it came out. The shrimp sat in garlic and oil, which paired well with the bread. The last time I had paella was in Spain about a year ago from dining here and I did not recall paella being a particularly salty food. The paella we ordered here tasted way too salty. The amount of seafood was also a bit disappointing. I'm not sure if they skimped on it because we were there for restaurant week.

I rate as 3 stars being average and we go up and down from there based on the whole experience, not just the food. If I'm giving a 5 star review it's because the experience was exceptionally above average from start to end and everything in between. It's NYC Restaurant Week (NYRW) and I was out to try a new place that was work lunch location friendly for my date and I. In the list of places I found online Socarrat Paella Bar (they have 3 locations) in Midtown East worked perfectly for us and I was craving Spanish food/tapas as I was in Spain this summer and missing the food. The NYRW selection for lunch was very reasonable at $30 offering one tapas of your choice and one paella. PLEASE NOTE: for this NYRW deal, if it's just you they will make an individual paella BUT if you are more than one (min two) you have to select the same one and they bring out a huge paella to share. I would assume if you are 4 people they would bring out 2 different choices but as there were only two of us, I can only speak for our situation. For the appetizers we ordered the gazpacho (chilled Spanish tomato soup) and the croquetas (crispy balls with a creamy interior). The croquetas of the day for 8/21/2024 were chorizo sausage. I didn't try the soup but my date seemed to enjoy every last drop of it. The croquetas we shared were okay but nothing I (this is just me) would get again. The texture was great and as it should be but I think I was expecting more chunks of sausage whereas it seemed like the chorizo was almost liquified into the creamy middle. It was okay, nothing bad, just not what I was used to from eating them anywhere else or in Spain. We shared the Paella Socarrat (free-range bone-in chicken, chorizo, shrimp, white fish, squid, mussels, cockles, fava beans, peppers, tomato sofrito). The menu we were handed didn't mention saffron but the waitress did and this paella was 100% a proper Spanish Paella with saffron and I will tell you in all sincerity, it was one of the BEST paella's I have had so far in NYC! I was instantly transported back to Barcelona with every bite! I find that many places in the states overload the dish with the rice (Bomba is the rice of choice in Spain but many a medium gran substitute) and then the paella is wet and you miss getting the best part with is the SOCARRAT! Valencia is the birthplace of paella and there is no good Valencian paella without a good socarrat, the burnt rice that remains at the bottom of the paella when cooked. Without the socarrat you are just eating a rice dish, it's NOT a paella. ;) T's #FunFacts talk over lol! The name sake paella at Socarrat was not only the most perfect homage to the restaurant name but more importantly to the dish. Outside of Spain, the paella I had yesterday was not only THE BEST I have had but it was also so beautiful. The shrimp they used was perfectly cooked and having it with the head and tail on is so traditional. Real talk - we all know we take pix and post for 'THE GRAM' and their plating (I'm assuming updated as all of the pix on here the shrimp looks unimpressive) is pure eye candy #FoodPorn and makes for an amazing Instagram photo! So in the end, I have no understanding on why their rating is not higher (Aug 2024 it's at 3.7) as I am telling you, as a regular visitor to España that their socarrat was perfection on the paella! I highly recommend stopping by whether during NYRW or just in general but you MUST try the paella. I'll update on the other items on my next visit(s) as I will 1000000% be back for more! Saw this place next to our dinner spot. Saved room for some churros with Nutella or hazelnut. I reality wanted to try their gazpacho and some sautéed mushrooms too. Most known for their paella, it seems. They took the gazpacho off the menu, must be because it's cold outside and nearing winter. No seating for walk-up's except for the high tops, the long counter along the bar counts as part of the high top, also the bar is available as well. It's good we are here early. Most folks are better off with reservations for Saturday night dinner. We settled and decided to order the tortilla, churros with Nutella or hazelnut sauce. $26.13. The tortilla was super disappointing, mushy and not good. Didn't taste freshly made, but reheated and nuked in the oven, since it was scalding hot. Nothing like what I have eaten when living and or visiting Spain. The churros was crunchy, chewy and nicely seasoned with sugar. Went well with the Nutella. I could eat more.

Locate in midtown East, this is one of three in the city. They have two floors here, and the ambiance is mostly dark with sunlighting in the form of yellow bulbs around you. Tables were a bit tight but they were able to fit our party of seven on the second floor. We came here wondering about the restaurant week deal of three courses for $45, but was told our party was too large to do so, and the servers recommended the regular menu anyway because of the additional choices and the portions being larger. You have a choice between the $65 and $99 pre fixe meals here, we ended up going to $65 where you could choose four tapas appetizers, two paellas and a dessert. For the four tapas we chose: - brussel sprouts were grilled and slightly sweet and spicy, this was a favorite of the table - a tomato covered bread was actually quite refreshing as it was a cool spread - the croquettes and potato and chorizo which one of our party couldn't eat pork, so they brought out what they said was spinach croquettes but ended up being more chorizo croquettes, ah well - gambas al ajillo was shrimp with olive oil and garlic, they brought plenty of this out which was good with the bread Paellas come out on giant flat cast iron pans, and we had two split four and three servings. In the future we know we need to specify which one should be bigger since we were an uneven party. - the pescado seafood what's okay, but was soggy rice and I had a clam that was completely cold so I'm not sure it was cooked well or thoroughly - the soccarat paella was the table favorite, The chicken and the sweet and savory sauce was excellent, although the crispy rice at the bottom and edges was hard to get off, had to have one of the servers come and scrape for us For dessert we chose the flan which was okay, slightly better than the separately ordered churros with chocolate which didn't have much of a cinnamon or sugar flavor with the crispy, thin churros. They were more like churro loops rather than the long churros you see elsewhere. Overall the food was okay, I've had better paella and tapas, but the service definitely was very good, the lady was totally willing to banter back and forth and make fun of the group for not finishing all the rice. So that part was cool. Come here to enjoy the atmosphere and grab a few dishes to share with friends, they have a pretty reasonable wine list to help with any celebration over dinner. They also didn't rush us out even though we were one of the last tables. They do close a bit on the early side, they are not a late night space even with a bar downstairs.

Was looking for a nice paella place that does it properly which is super hard to come by so decided to give Socarrat a go. Walked in on a Friday night without any problems. Got some padron peppers and gambas to start. Both were pretty good. Standard stuff. Nothing different but both done well. The paella takes a while as it always does and asked them to make it xxxtra crispy with that socarrat. Overall, a decent paella. Came with generous seafood which I appreciated. Is it the best I've ever had? Nah, can't beat Spain in that regard but this is probably better compared to most places. Would have loved it to be even crispier but otherwise pretty good. Would come back. Taberna vibes and they do paella pretty well. Has the og classics that one would want in a tapas bar too. A great neighborhood spot. Service was also pretty good.

I came here with a friend (and my dining companion besides my husband). She also likes to try new foods and go to adventurous places with me when my husband refuses. It was restaurant week and I was in the mood for paella and found this place on the restaurant week list. I got here first and they sat me upstairs where it was hot and then cold, and then hot again. It was not super busy at the time we went so it wasn't too noisy. Service was good and quick. Since restaurant week typically has pre fixe menus for a set price, you pick and choose off of a special menu for the time. They also have the regular menu too if you don't want 3 or 4 courses. Appetizer wise I got the chorizo and she got the bacon wrapped dates or figs or scallops. I don't remember what the bacon was wrapping. But both were very delicious and the chorizo wasn't too spicy. It came with a guacomole(?) side which has a cooling effect and cuts through the richness of the chorizo. For entree, we were there for paella so we had to get paella. The paellas are shared, meaning you have to agree on one of them and that's the one you eat. We chose the squid ink seafood one and it was a good decisions. It tasted not too salty or briny, which squid ink can do sometimes, and the seafood and vegetables on top were fresh. Plus it looked cool against the black rice. Finally for dessert we both got the churros which was a lovely way to end the dinner. We were both so stuffed by the end. Lovely spot if you haven't tried it and the paella is authentic. Would highly recommend and also return.

The board of meat and cheese was very good. Good portion size and great olives, among other treats. What really set everything off, however, was the grilled octopus. I don't even know what it was called on the menu. The bartender recommended it and I just agreed. It was the best octopus I have ever eaten. Pair it with the board and an excellent wine selection (again from the bartender), and you have a special dinner.

I came here for lunch with my mom and it was a nice discovery. It wasn't too crowded and there was outdoor and indoor seating and bar seating as well. Servers and hostess were very nice and accommodating. The food was delicious. We shared some dishes which were all delicious. Definitely be back.

Socarrat Paella Bar in Midtown is located at a very convenient area to get to. It's only about a 7 minute walk from the 48th St & Park Ave Grand Central entrance. I came here last week to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were 15 minutes late for our reservation and they still seated us quickly. The service was fantastic. The food was alright too. Although I couldn't try the Paella for religious reasons, they were all pretty full and said it tasted delicious. There were 4 people who ate a 3 serving paella. I'm not sure if I would visit this restaurant again since my main source of protein is chicken & there wasn't many options for me, but it was a good experience. Definitely an older crowd.

Un poquito de España en Nueva York! Probamos las patatas bravas (muy buenas) y las croquetas de hongos que estaban espectaculares. Y para terminar la paella de carne; el arroz estaba en su punto y tenía muchísimo sabor. hemos probado alguna otra paella en la ciudad y sin duda alguna, la de Socarrat merece mucho la pena. Volveremos seguro!!

I stopped by with a friend for happy hour on a weekday and we were seated right away. Happy hour runs daily from 4-6pm in the lower level. I had the sangria and my friend had the margarita, both were pretty standard. We tried the garlic shrimp which came out sizzling. The garlic, olive oil and shrimp all went well together, especially when drenching a slice of bread in the sauce. The tuna was nicely seared and seasoned. The place itself feels semi casual and the staff were pretty friendly.

We arrived and had a huge group for lunch. We rented the private room upstairs. It was already a pre fixe menu for the group with tapas and paella. The wait staff was attentive to all of our needs during the meal. However my low rating was mainly due to the price that we were charged in and the amount of food was not balanced. For brunch, you would think since they even had a pre-fixe menu that it would not be too much far out. However the group was charged 3x the pre fixe brunch menu plus NO drinks included. Total ripe off! For the amount of food, was also not worth it. We had shishito peppers, mushrooms, croquettes and the potato brava for tapas. And two different paellas, the black rice seafood and the meat. I must say the paella was good, and much better than other Spanish restaurants (such as Boqueria) that we've been to. The rice was cooked tenderly. But again the amount of food vs the price paid makes this spot a completely ripe off for me. I'll be on the hunt at other places for good paella.

We ordered the pulpo and braised short rib and topped it off with the churros. All 3 items were very good. The octopus was perfectly cooked. So good we ordered it twice. Service was excellent and the ambience is perfect.

We went for restaurant week. The wine was good and the croquetas were delicious, but topped with some garlic aioli that was more mayonnaise than anything. Of all the places to eat in NYC I probably would pick this again. We had the paella de Negro which was various seafood in a squid ink rice. There wasn't the characteristic crunch from the rice. It was alright. The churros were laughable and the chocolate sauce was bitter. Overall, glad we tried it for restaurant week, not sure we'll be back.

Overall nice experience. We had tortillas and croquetas for appetizers. It was great but I wish we could mix the flavors of the croquetas to taste more than 1. Paellas were also great. There were socarrat in both. Arroz negro was a bit too greasy for my taste but other than that, it was really tasty. Service was also very good and professional.

Craving some Spanish tapas, we dropped by for a Wednesday afternoon lunch. We ordered off the restaurant week menu which had more options than the online restaurant week menu. 29$ for a tapa and entree was a deal! Paella de dia: paella of the day - the paella that day was chicken with zucchini and broccoli - a non traditional combination, but a tasty one. There wasn't as much crisp on the rice as I hoped for. Churros con chocolate - a classic Spanish dessert done fresh and well! Gambas al ajillo - shrimp in olive oil and garlic. At first this tasted bland, but when I ate a piece of sliced garlic, the flavor finally filled my taste buds. Service was a little unattentive - it took a lot of effort to flag down a server for our check and to order dessert. It was not packed in the restaurant. Socarrat brings a small piece of Spain to NYC and does just enough to remind those who have been to Spain of the Spanish classic tapas/plates.

Nice and crispy Socarrat, however, lacking a bit of flavours. We asked for some fresh lemon and chilli which seemed to help. Deep fried artichoke dish was addictive. Overall, good experience.

The short rib paella had an excellent crunchy bottom thanks to the wide pan they used, overall the flavor was tasty without being too oily or salty. I'd consider trying a seafood paela next time. If you're not that hungry, 1 order of paella is enough for 2 people for dinner, though I ordered the tapas that resembled a breakfast hash, which I enjoyed a little more than the paella, excellent flavor with an over easy egg. The tapas could have been slightly less oily, the sausage gave it the salty flavor, which was needed.

WINTER RESTAURANT WEEK 2022 REVIEW ONLY I came here with 3 other friends for NYC Winter Restaurant Week 2022. When I first looked at the menu for this tapas bar online, I immediately knew that I wanted to try it because 1) It's such a great deal at $29 for a 3 course meal, 2) I've always wanted to try paella. So, we all were very happy to get a reservation for lunch. When we got to the restaurant, we got our vaccination cards checked and we were seated immediately. We got a table upstairs. We knew we were solely here for the restaurant week menu and pretty much knew what we wanted, so we got started on the orders fairly quickly. APPETIZER Since we are a group of 4, we decided to do family style and order one of each appetizer except the salad. So we ordered 2 of croquetas del dia, 1 order of the gambas al ajillo and 1 order of champinones a la plancha. My least favorite was probably the croquetas because I didn't like the filling inside. But it mentions "croquettes of the day", so my opinion may not matter for another day. In general, they were all very small tapa plates and weren't anything too special. I'm glad that I was able to try a bit of each thing. [Recommendation: Each person order different things and share] ENTREE Since the paella is 1 per 2 people, we were able to order 2 paellas to split among 4 people. We got the order of the paella socarrat and paella arroz negro. It was such an abundant amount of seafood and food in general. The rice is quite filling, but surprisingly we were able to eat a majority of the food without too much leftover. I honestly preferred the paella arroz negro. It's pretty unique cause it has the black color due to the squid ink, but doesn't taste any different (just aesthetics). What I did like more about the paella arroz negro was 1) the rice was more chewier/crunchier, 2) the scallops were amazing! The paella socarrat was very similar to the arroz negro except it had no scallops, included mussel, chicken & chorizo. The chicken has bone inside, mussels were small & wasn't a big fan of chorizo. [Recommendation: Paella Arroz Negro] DESSERT When it comes to the dessert, we got 2 orders of the churro and 2 orders of the flan. To be honest, I think flan is definitely the superior option. The flan tasted so soft/good - I wanted more! The churro was nice, but very average. It was a small piece and everything wasn't as warm as I expected. [Recommendation: Flan] In general, you can't beat the price (considering the paella itself is quite pricey from the standard menu). For restaurant week, I would highly recommend coming here! You will leave full and satisfied. For my first paella experience, I enjoyed my meal.

Felt like I was in Spain! Started with a pitcher was red sangria which was made beautifully. Then for the star of the show was the paella. We ordered the Soccarrat Paella, which came with an assortment of fresh seafood and seasoned rice. This was all that was needed for a party of 3. For dessert, we got the churros, wish they were crisper. But overall great spot!

I stopped by this evening with a large party of seven and we were seated outside past the curb. It was a bit dim and somewhat windy, but we managed. We ordered a ton of appetizers off the menu as well as a pitcher of red sangria to share, but the highlight of the meal was definitely the squid ink paella. Though I've only had paella a handful of times in my life, I really enjoyed the paella from Socarrat. There was so much umami in the dish and there was no shortage of seafood scattered throughout the dish as well. I really like that waiters will help stir up your paella for you and scrape off all the taste charred bits off of the pan so you don't have to. This is the best part of the dish. In addition to the squid ink paella, we also ordered the vegetarian paella. This one was a lot more tomato forward and I did not like it as much. The veggies sprinkled on top didn't add much to the enjoyment of the dish either. I wish our party had skipped over this paella and gone with one of the other options. Overall, pretty decent meal. Bill came out to about $300 for our party.

I have a weakness for crispy rice, so trying the paella here was a given when I heard about socarrat. I ordered the restaurant week menu. The croquetas of the day (chorizo) stood out - they were crispy on the outside, soft inside, and just each a delicious bite. The seafood on the paella was fresh and tasty, but I wish the paella rice had a hotter and crispier bottom. Rounding out the meal, the churros were just average. I would have like the hot chocolate to be hotter (it was room temp). Service was good as was the ambience. I would come back to try another paella!

Stopped by for brunch and was very happy I did...now I need to go back for some of their delicious paella!

Great service, comfortable seating I have tried a couple of their paella, IMO the arid negro is by far the best one - absolutely delicious First time here for brunch, the unlimited sangria/mimosas for $22 was great, rarely saw the bottom of the glass The tortilla espanola was good, well seasoned potatoes with some creaminess from the egg, great with the guacamole on the side Croquettes of the day was filled with a blended chorizo - crispy and delicious Not a typical brunch, I would return, but I defiantly love this place for dinner

Love the socarrat paella and the happy hour specials on appetizers are a great deal. An early dinner here is a real treat.

The service was great and the food and drinks did not disappoint at all! The restaurant had a great vibe and we will definitely be returning again.

TLDR- Save your money and go somewhere else Came into this meal with such high expectations but was sorely disappointed by the quality of the dishes. The croquettes were the only redeeming part of this meal. They were warm and crunchy with a solid filling. The paella however was one of the worst paella's I've ever had. It was tasteless and not properly cooked. The flan dessert was also a huge miss with a curdled texture.

A bit pricey but the food is worth it. A group of 6 of me and my friends went for restaurant week. - The space: it's a two floor restaurant that's pretty narrow but long. It's designed pretty nicely and perfect for a romantic date. - The food is delicious: I had the croquette of the day (ham and cheese). It was delicious. I forgot to snap a picture because it was so good and I inhaled it. The outside was perfectly fried and crispy. The inside was soft and packed with flavor. - We then had both the paella socarrat (chicken and seafood) as well as the paella arroz negro (seafood with squid ink rice). I preferred the arroz negro, made black by the mixture of squid ink. The rice of the arroz negro alone was so flavorful that even without the protein, I would have enjoyed it. The seafood was perfectly cooked and provided a good balance of texture. The paellas have to be an order for 2 or more people. Then at the end, the server scrapes the bottom of the pan where all of the crispy rice is (the socarrat) and the new texture is almost like eating a new dish. - I ended with the churros and the chocolate dipping sauce which was delicious. Crispy and sweet on the outside, and soft and warm on the inside. - the most "ok" thing we had was probably the red sangria. It was a bit too sweet, but still ok. Definitely recommend.

Have come here w groups, and 1:1 w my partner or a girlfriend. It never disappoints. Just plan your meal accordingly because some of the tapas can be filling (and they're not cheap!), and the paella is a minimum of 2 servings. Love the Socarrat, black squid ink and vegetarian one. I love when they have mushroom croquettes (for vegetarians) but they also have plenty of vegetarian tapas and a vegetarian paella. Didn't get it this time but the gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp), octopus, and papas (potatoes) are delicious! Yummy wine and sangria selection too.

I like this place. The sangria is really good. I've had better tapas but it's still solid. The garlic shrimp was my favorite. Probably wouldn't recommend the chorizo.

Came here for restaurant week with a few friends and was pleasantly surprised. I went to the downtown location a few years ago and really did not like it but Midtown east was a stark contrast. The meal was delicious. We did the set menu which came with an appetizer, entree and dessert. We had the shrimp in garlic oil, seafood paella and flan. The shrimp in garlic oil was amazing, the oil was so flavorful and was the perfect dip for bread. The paella was perfect, seafood was all cooked well and the rice had the best crispy bottom. The flan was okay (I'm not really a big fan of flan). We also got two pitchers of sangria. They were objectively good drinks but they were not worth the price. 2 pitchers were $100. I would go back for the shrimp and to try a different paella!

The food is sooooo good. Came here for my birthday with friends & they did not disappoint. The food is to share (well except the dessert, I don't share desserts) and the drinks were on point. I loved the dark atmosphere too & the waitress was awesome. She made my day that much more special.

Solid brunch, but nothing extraordinary. Service was great, very attentive. We got a pitcher of the Sangria Roja to share, which was delicious. I got the Huevos a La Flamenca, which consisted of eggs, potatoes, artichokes, fava beans, and chorizo in a tomato sauce. It was good, but probably not something I'd come back for. l'm guessing they're really known for their paellas though, which we didn't try, so would come back to try that.

Paella was subpar. It was rock hard and lacked flavor. I wish it was as good as anticipated

This review is difficult to me and is actually a 3.5-star but I round up. The paella here is delicious! Some of the tapas are winners and some are losers. Winners: Paella! Any of them are good. Very authentic and reminds me of Spain. Octopus!! Cooked to perfection and charred just right! Losers: The fried artichokes were not that hot in temp and were under seasoned. The croquettes had great flavor but were served room temperature-ish (probably because the waiter took forever to do anything). That deserves a ding, I want those HOT. The waiter that wasn't very approachable nor attentive and didn't make us feel too welcome, instead he was just there doing a job.

The mixed paella was delicious, the service was great and tapas options were delish as well. I love the small balcony seating on the top floor

Such a fun atmosphere. It feels classy, but also really authentic and fun. We got the fried artichoke tapas to start which was fantastic and a great size portion! We also got the paella for 2 and didn't even finish it. We were debating which pitcher of sangria to get and the guy next to use leaned over to recommend the red. And it was also fantastic. The pitcher was also a great deal for 2 people. It looks small, but don't be decieved. We each had a solid 2.5-3 glasses. And despite being a small and long restaurant, it felt breezy and well ventillated.

We were here for happy hour on a Saturday which was a great deal. Their happy hour runs until 6:30 on weekends, with half price tapas, $7 draft beers, and $9 sangrias. They had a good list of tapas which were reasonably priced for happy hour. It may be on the pricier side outside of happy hour. We got 4 tapas for 2 people which was a nice portion size. Our favorite was the grilled squid (Calamar a la Plancha). It was bursting with flavor and tender! Squid can be over cooked easily but this was perfectly done. Our second favorite was the mussels (Cazuela de Marisco) which came in a good sauce for dipping the side of bread. The Albondigas were good and I would get it again but not too special. Finally the Dátiles which were bacon wrapped dates was very heavy. I see why there's only 4 pieces. It was our "dessert" but a bit hard to finish because of how heavy it was. In terms of COVID, they had outdoor seating that were spaced with plastic barriers and overhead heat lamps. The staff had masks on at all times. Overall a great happy hour spot especially for a weekend. Would love to come back for more!
