I contacted society bakery for a gender reveal cake. My twist was that I wanted this cake German chocolate flavored (which Susie Cakes refused to do 🤦🏻‍♀️) so I ended up using society bakery due to multiple referrals. Let me tell you, Society Bakery exceeded expectations, and were an absolute pleasure to work with! They accommodated all of my requests in record time. They executed perfection in roughly 36 hours! My husband claims Society Bakery German chocolate cake was the best he had ever tasted! 100% recommend for ease, taste, and creativity!!!

What’s going on with the food and service industry?? I first came to society bakery when they were at the old location some 12 plus years ago. I recommended their key lime cupcake if you can remember that far back. So today as I’ve come to take a few cupcakes to a family member visiting from out of town, I expected great treats and better service. Instead what I got was a worker who couldn’t be pulled away from her task of folding boxes long enough to give me a popular suggestion. Her reply to what’s popular these days was a dry “everything is”… I overlooked that although I was annoyed and proceeded to order what I like. There was not a thank you during the entire transaction nor a real show of appreciation for having stopped by to spend $15 on three cupcakes that have shrank over the years. Please for the love of God just show that you care when someone stops by. The shop is out of the way for someone like me who lives an hour away. I won’t be back but for the next customer, kindness and appreciation go far.

I had my baby shower here over the weekend and let me say I was extremely picky on the location and Society Bakery and Tea Room met every need/expectation. The food was AMAZING, it was clean upon walking in to set my event up, very well decorated, I had 50ish guests all standing/sitting and we all fit very well, very helpful staff, the owner was there and active at my event, she boxed up my leftover food for my guests to take home. I also got a cake from the bakery side and they had it brought right over for my event. They cut and served it around to each of my guests, which I found to be so helpful so my guests weren’t having to stop what they were doing to try and find a slice!(I added my own flowers) If you are debating to get a cake from here…DO IT!! It was the best cake I’ve honestly ever had, it was so soft and the icing was fantastic and I am not an icing fan 100/10!!

I went to Society Bakery today for the first time around 12:30 this afternoon. It was lively and just the right amount of busy. The caramel latte was so dreamy and smooth. My husband had the tuna melt and said it was the best he’s ever had. I loved everything we had here, especially the cinnamon roll! We ordered tea at the end, and it even came with a cutie little tea timer to let you know when your particular tea was steeped to perfection. Tara came by our table and made some excellent recommendations. The service was Excellent and I will definitely be recommending to others!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Restaurant 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Food 10/10 Service 1000/10 Food was so delicious and everything was made fresh, in house. The French onion soup was to die for! I will be dreaming of that yummy bowl of soup forever! The restaurant was beautiful, the cake we ordered was hands down the best cake I have ever eaten. Our server Maria was so adorable, attentive and thoughtful. The manager as well as Maria made sure my daughter’s birthday so special with the personal service. Everything was absolutely perfect! We will definitely be back!! Thank you for going above and beyond!!

We had a baby shower luncheon at the Society Tea Room and it was amazing! The food was delicious, the service amazing and Tara was instrumental in making sure our event was perfect! The venue is lovely! I would highly recommend this for any event or just stopping by for lunch! The pastries were out of this world!😊

A year or two ago my friend bought cupcakes from here for my birthday celebration and I have been a devoted fan ever since! This is my go to bakery for any fun celebration where baked goodies are needed. If your goal is to have everyone rave about the cupcakes you brought to a party, Society is the place to go! Going to have the try the tea room next!

I adore this tea room. It transports me a bit to quaint restaurants in Manhattan, San Francisco and European cafés. The food is delicious and filling portions. The tea is high quality and the desserts divine. On some days they have events and it can get quite loud in one room or the other - if you're looking for quiet, maybe call ahead and ask. Also, I'm a mom and understand wanting to bring children places, but I encourage you to let this be your time away to relax without them (unless of course they are well behaved). Truly, this is an East Dallas gem.

Maria was a great server to me!! Gloria is always helpful and friendly when I enter the bakery...I love this place (p.s. the froot loop matcha is the best!)

FOR THOSE WANTING TO ORDER THE VINTAGE HEART CAKE The frosting does not hold up. So disappointing. I wanted to cry! I ordered this cake for my birthday photoshoot, followed the baker's instructions to refrigerate it upon arriving home. I then transported it to the photoshoot location and when I opened the box, the frosting had fallen apart! My photographer and I tried to salvage it by pushing the frosting back onto the cake, and we managed to make it work for a few pictures, but it continued to fall apart over time. Eventually the cake was left with only frosting on top! I ordered from Society Bakery because it was affordable ($90), but I should have chosen other bakers charging $120+ for a higher quality cake. The frosting should not have fallen apart so easily, especially in room temp. After reading another review on Google, it's clear I'm not the only one who had their cake collapse on them.

I don't know where to beginSociety Bakery is the restaurant where my daughter-in-law chose to have her baby shower. We visited the bakery about a month before the shower & were assisted by the manager Stephanie, who was very knowledgeable and informative. About a week before the shower, Nina & I went back. We had lunch & once again met with Stephanie to finalize the menu. She worked with Nina in designing the menu & made suggestions on choices. She even personalized the menus with the attendees names, which were then placed at their respective seats!! Today, the day of the shower, we arrived to find the room where we were having the shower all set up!! The table placement was just what we asked for with extra tables for gifts. Everything was perfect & beautiful!! The teas were fabulous!! The tea sandwiches were excellent!! The scones, cupcakes, & petit fours were "to die for!!" The service by the staff & the oral description of what we were eating & drinking were fantastic!! I will definitely be returning to Society Bakery with my lady friends for lunch and tea

Ordered a banana chocolate chip round 9inch cake for mom's bday. Not much to work with for design selection so I pulled something off their photo gallery. The decoration was sparser than the original so it was a bit disappointing. The cake was too sweet with chocolate chips, hardly any banana flavor. Expected more for an $80 cake from a bakery that has gotten rave reviews.

1st visit stopped by to pick up some treats. The store is clean and really nice staff. Picked up a few cupcakes and a cookie to share with friends. I tried a bite of the chocolate Brooklynn Blackout - chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and a dollop of chocolate in the middle. The cake was okay not as moist as one would except for famous bakery.

This is my favorite bakery in Dallas! I started coming around 15 years ago. Moving to two different states over the years never stopped me from picking up a cupcake or two on my visits to Dallas. The decor is so cute and love that they've add a patio space with tables and chairs. I've also enjoyed the service I've received when going in. They are always thoughtful and friendly. Today's visit consisted of my picking up 4 cupcakes. There are also a variety of cookies and other desserts that can be purchased. They looked great as usual but I was on a mission for what takes me to my happy place. I ordered one of the following- pink champagne, strawberry, german chocolate, and vanilla. I had the pink champagne for dessert after dinner. And it was just fantastic - fluffy, soft cake and that icing... You can not go wrong with a visit to Society Bakery.

My husband and I placed an order for a gender reveal cake. I went in to pick up and was showed the cake and then the girl stated "and it says it's a boy inside." At that point, I pretty much spaced/wanted to cry. I didn't say anything and left. My husband emailed the bakery to notify them of what happened and more as an educational moment for the team. No response whatsoever. The cake was nice and tasted good but it's pretty disappointing when you clearly state gender reveal and you are revealed the gender before you are even home. Word to anyone considering this bakery, make it WELL known in advance to notify everyone that you DO NOT want to know the gender in advance. I would like to note that if the bakery had acknowledged the wrong doing via email, I would not have written this.

I am over the moon with my wedding cakes, I thought that I would have a lot of cake left over but needless to say we all loved it.

I have used Society Bakery for birthdays and showers for a while and always love the taste of the cake. Recently, they did my wedding cake and the cake / experience was so good I decided I should finally leave a review. The cake will taste amazing and the customer service is awesome. Delicious cupcakes from Society Bakery! Larger than average size cupcakes, but more expensive than I am used to (about $5 per cupcake). Check your order before paying! Miscommunication caused me to pay for an extra cupcake I did not order.

Amazing, my Moms cake came out beautifully! We ordered graphic and placed on top but the cake looked and tasted divine!

I don't know what's happened since they moved from Greenville Ave but the cupcakes have shrunk to almost half the size. A few of us that use to frequent often agree that there is a significant size change.

Society Bakery has been part of our family for over 25 years. They have made wonderful birthday cakes, anniversary cakes, and any kind of celebration. We need a cake. Glad to know that they are moving. They desperately needed more space. Good luck on your renovations, and I will be calling in September.

Hadn't been back for awhile and wished I'd stayed away- the cupcakes are so overpriced and they don't have the quality to stand up for it- on of my cupcakes was half mashed -looked like a muffin top- see pic for reference. And the only flavor is sugar. Overly sweet, overly priced crap.

Loved the strawberry shortcake cake I had custom made from Society Bakery for my aunt's 60th birthday. It was delicious and not too rich. Not too sweet, very light and airy cake texture. I simply called 3 days ahead to place the order and picked up from the front of the store for their social distancing protection. The cake was beautiful and a huge hit! I'll make Society Bakery my bakery of choice!

So happy with my Society Bakery cake! The online ordering process was seamless. Saw this $22 one layer heart cake on their Instagram and fully customized it! Pickup was just as easy, and the employees were nice. Highly recommend

There's a reason this place is consistently ranked the best bakery in Dallas (Dallas Observer and Voted Top 10 Cupcakes in America by AOL and the Ellen DeGeneres Show, plus so many other places). They were also featured on the Food Network Channel on the show Dallas Cakes. I walked in to try and get a last minute cake, but they only had ONE available as the few ready-made cakes had already been claimed. It was a very small plain white 6-inch cake and they were only able to write on it with icing, no other customizations for a whopping $40! Totally overpriced so I went for their cupcakes instead and tried Oreo, Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, and Funfetti. Cupcakes are $4.00 each, large in size, and totally worth it!! Everyone loved the cupcakes! The cake it self was pure perfection that I didn't hear a single complaint for my friends as we tried all four of them together. I asked how long it takes to make a custom cake and was told they needed ONE WEEK NOTICE. But on their website, it says they need THREE WEEKS NOTICE. That's insane! But they're definitely very busy and have tons of orders to fill. I went right when they opened on Saturday Morning and again, they only had that one plain cake available for me to walk out with so definitely PRE-ORDER if you need a cake. The place is very beautiful and pretty inside (and outside!) It's located off Greenville Ave and parking is sparse but they have two reserved spots in front of their store. It's first come first serve, but you can call and give payment over the phone to reserve if you're really desperate.

Society Bakery is our go to bakery for all our cakes and cup cakes! I got my sister in laws baby shower cake, my baby shower cake, my husbands birthday cake and my daughters 1st birthday cake from Society Bakery... I just love their Vanilla Salted Caramel and Pink Champagne flavors!!! The staff is so nice and professional and the decorators listen to the customer and deliver! They were running a little behind when I went to pick up my daughters cake, but the wait was worth it and they gave me half a dozen cupcakes for waiting! They didn't have to but they cared for my time. The cake was BEAUTIFUL! Exactly what I wanted!!! I will ALWAYS get my cakes from Society Bakery! Also the renovations look great!

Goodness comes in the form of cupcakes and cookies many times and when it does, it is served up by Society Bakery. This is a fun place on lower Greenville Ave. to get a nice treat. These are pretty much my favorite cupcakes in Dallas and I would be shocke by anyone who says they do not blow GiGi's and Sprinkles out of the water! Seriously, these cupcakes will make you forget those places even exist...

Excellent treats! I got 4 cupcakes for $14 dollars. They were moist, sweet, and yummy. The decorations cause the cupcakes to be a bit frosting heavy, but I think they were done special due to it being Valentine's Day. Nonetheless, everything was great. I will be back.

I'm on the late start today, had to drop off some cupcakes to my kids school for teachers week! Love them so much for all the wonderful things they do everyday. Hope they enjoyed all

An early and hard morning had - need a pick me up - ooo, a whoopie pie at Society Bakery came to mind - drove out of direct way home in the rain! It's 2:30pm on this Monday - cool, parking in front - no line inside - been ages - very cute exterior - hmmm, austere is the interior - excited of the treat! Unfortunately, service was LAME - only one other customer and she was done buying, was shooting breeze to person behind counter - another cashier actually walked away rather than helping the other! Would have walked out - but, there it was: their Bread Pudding Whoopie Pie - can't turn back then - finally - decided to buy two, $9.00 total - whoa! Well yes! - sometimes "good things does come in small packages" - HEAVENLY SWEET TREAT IT WAS - with a cup of coffee, 1/2 of one was more than enough in satisfying my craving - aggravation of service subsided - all's good! Cheers!

I mean, look at the photo and I need not say more! This story book cake I requested for a baby shower was made entirely without fondant and is so amazing! I was hesitant at first because I didn't think it could be done without the gross, yet beautiful, use of fondant but this bakery did not disappoint. I bought the little figures on the cake and it was such a hit. The bakery is on the pricier side as this cake was $330. However, it was so worth it and went a long way! I will definitely be back.

1. This bakery's manager (Chris) hung up on me when I asked if she handles all problems with asking customers to take down their reviews for a store credit. Basically she is bribing me. 2. I didn't even have a chance to delete my facebook review because someone else had already deleted it. Hmmm...I guess Society Bakery can't take constructive feedback. If they are able to delete reviews it makes me really think if they really deserve all those stars. 3. I called a different bakery because I wanted to talk to a manager, not a decorator. The store I was at, only a decorator was available. 4. A person shouldn't have to go to bakery 3 times to get a correct order. It should have been done right the first time. And the fact that they tried to give me the first batch is just embarrassing. 5. I declined a delivery because after two failed attempts I couldn't trust that it was going to be down correctly. By the third time the cookies came out much better. However, what a stressful Saturday afternoon. I wouldn't count on this place for anything special, especially in regards to customer service. Was it that long ago that a customer could expect that if a mistake was made, the company would simply apologize and make the mistake right rather than take part in a petty back and forth argument and attempt to bribe the review away?

Dumbest process ever! I kept hearing about this bakery so I drove from Frisco to give it a try. 1. Dining room is closed due to covid, ok makes sense. 2. You can't order anything from the pickup window. Why not? Because you have to order online and then walk up to the pickup window. That's dumb! 3. Oh well that's not an option either because your order has to be placed at least 90 minutes in advance. That's dumb! 4. I call to ensure I'm understanding the process. Sure enough the lady who answered the phone confirmed all of the above. I asked, so is there not a way to just buy one since I'm already here. "No, you can try another day". Rest assured that won't happen. Dumbest process ever!

Giot my wife's birthday cake at Society Bakery and it was pure greatness! Everyone loved it. It was ready on time, as promised, and the girl who took my order on the phone was very pleasant and helpful.

One of my fav cupcake places in Dallas. The cupcakes are so so moist and every flavor is delicious! My fav has to be the vanilla and pink champagne. They also have cookies and cakes. Cakes do need to be ordered in advance. The size of the cupcakes is pretty big. You can share the cupcake with another person if wanted.

Submitted an order online. Received an email on 10/1 saying to call by 10/2 in order to secure the order. Called on 10/2, they said they had to "look up my order" and they'd call me back. Took down my Number, said they'd call back. Never did. So I call them today, 10/3, and they refused to take my order "because I never called", when I did. Ridiculous business practice. Ridiculously poor customer service. Take your business to one of the other kind bakeries in town. Not this one.

Love this bakery. Mother always got me birthday cakes from here and I just got my baby her first one. Moist and delicious always. I love the banana chocolate chip! Make sure you call weeks ahead for a custom cake, I didn't and had to get a signature sdesign but it came out super cute.

Walked in a 4:03 with my twin 3 year olds. The staff let me know they closed at 4 no exceptions. Other patrons were ahead of us still waiting. No signage mentions their hours. It was very disappointing and unnecessary.

Tried the tippy taps doggo treats which are human grade. To the say the least it was definitely a good snack to eat while I was waiting. Wouldn't mind getting a full order from here as well.

My neighbor shared a piece of her red velvet birthday cake with me. I'll eat red velvet but it's not my favorite. Well it was the best cake I've ever eaten! From society bakery - don't confuse this with the far less superior celebrity bakery across the street! Fortunately society bakery has a nice selection of cupcakes (yes better than sprinkles) so you can have a sampler. My favorite- pink champagne! Light vanilla flavor and beautiful buttercream frosting with pink sprinkles!

This is our go to cake place, as we buy more cakes than we need to! And they up the unicorn cake for us year over year. Now, with that said we did receive the wrong cake this year for one of the birthdays which sent me over the edge and I had to provide picture proof so they believed me. We received chocolate as opposed to red velvet which is the ONLY cake we ever order!!! I asked them to pull up our account for historical references and was told one does not exist. The manager was rather gracious about the whole thing and made it right, however the ladies who answered the phone the 4 times I called were rather curt and not helpful at all. It just makes customers more irate to deal with when they are given the brush off and I am no exception to this rule.

Hands down the best cake I have ever eaten. I was planning a bachelorette party in Dallas and saw that Ellen named Society as having one of the best cupcakes in the U.S., so I placed a custom order for a cute bachelorette barbie cake I had seen on Pinterest. Society was very easy to work with to achieve the exact design I was looking for. I shipped them the barbie and they did the rest! The cake was funfetti and it was absolutely delicious. The look of the cake was a big hit with our group and so was the taste. They delivered the cake to our hotel, which was very convenient, and it arrived in perfect condition.

By far the best coconut cupcake I've ever had! The cake itself was super moist and it had a cream filling with coconut flakes on the icing. I tried to save half for later but that didn't last too long. I went in about an hour before closing and they only had 5 cupcake options and one type of cookie which was a little disappointing. The inside is small but cute, not a place with seating to linger and eat. The woman who checked me out was curt and didn't make me want to get more than I needed. I would return to try more items and hopefully they'll have some more options that are equally delicious!!

Used to be our go to for birthday cakes but this last cake was a $47 disappointment. Bland tasting, not actually red velvet that we ordered and they spelled my son's name wrong. Will seek another bakery next time. I love sweets and didn't even feel like finishing my slice.

Ordered a birthday cake, 2 layer white with butter cream frosting. $55... good cake albeit a little pricey. The cake was 3 1/2 stars even being pricey. The deduction is for the rude counter service on Saturday August 11th. One of the nastiest dispositions I've seen dealing with the public in awhile. Incredible the manager or owner isn't aware they have an employee so rude. No greeting, obviously annoyed when I wanted a few other pastries with the cake. Maybe it was close to closing time or she had personal issues, but neither would excuse the level of rudeness displayed. Don't put my receipt on the counter, turn your back to speak to another employee & not thank me. I won't be frequenting a business that has employees acting that way toward customers. Good luck with that business model.

HORRIBLE customer service after the line was continuously busy, someone finally answer because she was under the impression she was calling another customer. I told her no I'm a customer trying to place an order. Then she hung up. I will NEVER go to Society Bakery EVER AGAIN......

My negative experience is a result of staff members' poor communication and inattention to detail. I gave specific instructions verbally and in writing, and provided an image of the desired artwork. I made multiple attempts to reconfirm details, but staff members don't answer the phone or respond to email. As a result, the artwork on my cake was incorrect and trim color was wrong (I requested and provided artwork with yellow trim, but instead got pink and white). The quality isn't even close to cakes posted on their website or social media and the entire experience failed to meet minimum expectations. I definitely recommend shopping around before using Society Bakery.

This review is just about the ordering process. I have been looking for a baby shower with a relatively simple design and I contacted Society for a quote. They definitely responded within 72 hours which I have to give them credit for. The reason why I am rating them so low is that compared to other bakeries in the area, they upcharge for things that others include. The picture I submitted to them was a cake with blue frosting, white piping on around the base and a few fondant decorations on top that make the image of a clothesline. On the quote I received from them, they listed the base price of the cake ($47 for a 9" round cake). But, there was a $30 charge for "all over color" and a $15 charge for the border on the bottom. The only reasonable extra charge was the fondant decorations ($25). I haven't seen other bakeries charge for the border or colored frosting.

If you know me, you know Society Bakery is my jam. We decided to use them for our wedding cake needs and couldn't have been happier! We ordered four dozen "rosette" cupcakes (look like little roses on top) and a 9 inch round "rosette" cake (looks covered in roses) for our centerpiece/one year anniversary cake to keep. I couldn't have been happier. The cupcakes were perfect, tasted perfect and even though we had way more cupcakes than people, we amazingly had none left! Really, Society Bakery does special things--if you haven't been here before, you gotta go.

In need for some cupcakes so I decided to listen to my fellow yelpers recommendation on this nearby cupcake bakery. My first impression of the Society Bakery was that it was the cutest little place and it could be the perfect place to come eat lunch at with some girlfriends or I could even come do some work on my labtop. The bakery has free wifi and is opened until 8 pm! Its not open very late but the cupcakes definitely make it all up! The staff was really friendly and helpful when I wasnt able to make the simple decision of which cupcakes to pick. So I ordered the chocolate & vanilla salted caramel; strawberry; and the red velvet cupcakes to-go. The presentation of the cupcakes in my to-go box was really cute and perfect when Im on the go. They were all REALLY good except for the strawberry cupcake. The strawberry cupcake was plain and didnt stand out much when comparing to the other cupcakes in my box. If I had to pick only one favorite cupcake, it would definitely be the red velvet cupcake! Personally, I'm a huge fan of the red velvet cupcake itself so my opinion might be a little bias ;) Overall: I will definitely return to this super cute establishment for more cupcakes! I recommend everyone to at least try this cupcake joint AT LEAST once. I love the outside patio sitting area. **TIP: Dont refrigerate your cupcakes because the cake will loose its moisture and will make the cake a lot more dry. I had to learn this the hard way and thought I should share this bit of information with everyone!**
