Had a fantastic brunch at Café Society with two friends, and I can’t recommend it enough! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a laid-back weekend catch-up. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and quick without being rushed. We started with a pitcher of mimosas, which was the perfect way to kick things off. For food, we had the olive oil pancakes and the steak and eggs—both were fairly delicious! The pancakes were light, flavorful, and had just the right touch of richness, while the steak was well-cooked and paired perfectly with the eggs. Overall, a great spot for brunch with friends! Would definitely come back to try more from the menu.

Very nice place and a really good option for a weekend brunch. It was easy to book and we booked on the same day. The entry is through a hotel (not directly on the street). We had the "Olive Oil Pancakes" and the "Market Omelette". Both are good options, they were very good. The "Latte" was also good, I am not gourmet but I like a good cup of coffee. Service was great and the place is cozy and nicely decorated.

Stopped here while visiting nyc. The decor is beautiful. They had no availability for tables but we snagged seats at the bar. We ordered from the brunch menu. I got the chicken and waffle sandwich. The flavor was good but the waffle was a bit too hard. The sandwich was huge so once I reheated it, the waffle softened up and was much more enjoyable. I'd definitely go back.

Our bartender Victor was absolutely incredible. He greeted us so warmly and had great energy. He was super informative about the menu and provided great suggestions. He recommended drinks he thought we might like and they were absolutely incredible. He checked in with us often and made us feel taken care of. I would be absolutely delighted if we came back and he was our bartender. It’s the small details and intentionality that make all the difference. Amazing experience.

It's a cozy hotel restaurant that offers a good variety of breakfast options. I had a chocolate croissant and eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Surprisingly, the food quality exceeded my expectations. I really liked the ambiance and design. It's a great spot to visit with your family.

Visiting New York for a few months for work, stumbled across the Walker Hotel right next to where I’m living and I cannot recommend enough. After a long 13h day in the office, I needed a relaxed environment to unwind and it was the perfect place. I sat at the bar to grab some bar bites and a drink and Pablo was amazing. Exceptional service, attentive and looked after me. It’s really the little details in the service that give in and Pablo was the one to provide them. If you visit this place for the night/drink/dinner, say hello to Pablo!

Surprisingly delicious food for a hotel restaurant. Booked a last minute reservation here for a group of 6 since I was in the area already, and the place was wide open. Had low expectations, but was surprised by how cute the space was and how delicious the food is. The pizzas had a great crust. The chicken and octopus dishes were tender and flavorful. The carrot cake at the end was sophisticated and yummy. All in all, would go back again. When we left, there was live singer in the hotel lobby.

Society Cafe is a best kept secret of NYC. One of the best happy hours in NYC. Slipped in here on a casual afternoon and was served by Pablo who makes the absolute best cocktails. Be sure to ask for him! He made espresso martinis that were out of this world I can’t recommend coming in here enough. Even at non happy hour rates the service and quality of the cocktails is unmatched as stated previously asked for Pablo! He exemplifies service in all ways and is clearly an excellent cocktail maker.

My color scheme! Lovely service and atmosphere. Great food. They should bring back the chicken breakfast sandwich that others posted on Yelp...it looked really different (standout) and good. I was sad they didn't have it so I settled for what I usually don't eat -- pancakes since they came with fruit. I had to take 2 of the pancakes to-go AS THERE WERE 4! lol that's a lot! Ultimately, I thought it was clean inside and a professional, relaxed environment. Some ppl were working on laptops, most others were dining, and chatter was all appropriate to-table level. The restrooms were very tidy and not too tiny. This is a nice, secluded place...pricey, but nice. Go, enjoy!!

I came here for breakfast at 9am on a Thursday. The entrance to the cafe is through the lobby of the Walker Hotel. I thought it would be fairly empty at this time, but most of the tables were actually full so I'm glad I made a reservation. They had a great selection of hot teas. I tried the ginger tumeric. It had a pleasantly light taste, but the tumeric flavor definitely came through. The tea was served in a small metal kettle that I would have expected to hold cream or milk. To eat, I had the avocado toast. The dish was topped with cucumbers and sun dried tomatoes, both of which detracted from the toast itself. I would've preferred a bit more avocado instead. The bread was fairly easy to cut, not overly crunchy like some toasts can be. It was served with a side salad and breakfast potatoes, which were slightly crispy. My friend ordered the truffle BEC and said the eggs had a bit too much truffle flavor in the them. Service was a little slow. The decor in the cafe is very elegant. It'd be a good option for a business breakfast.

Finally grabbed dinner here and the overall experience was positive. Unfortunately the entire main dining area was closed for a private function but the very few tables in the lobby area (this restaurant is in the Walker Hotel), were available. We missed the happy hour drink deals by just 2 minutes! as we were seated at a comfortable table. I browsed the menu and enjoyed the live Big Band music that kicked off. The ambience resembled a speakeasy or library which translated to cozy, charming and sultry due to the dim lights.. The dinner menu wasn't as extensive as the brunch menu and I found it a bit difficult to make a selection. Since I don't eat red meat, it left me with three choices from the main section: Risotto, Halibut or the Organic Chicken. Not feeling any of those selections, Pizza was the choice for both of us. As far as drinks were concerned, i was craving an iced cold can of Diet Coke with my pizza. Unfortunately, they only carry the draft variety which I really don't like so I was forced to order an unsweetened Iced Tea since I was going alcohol free. There were some good wine and beer choices on the menu. Next time. Before the pizza arrived, two hot and flaky mini brioche were brought to the table. These were SO good and irresistible. Starting with a carb knowing my meal would be rich in carbs wasn't my intention, but these delightful rolls were complimentary and too good to pass up. The Margarita pizza arrived shortly thereafter. Six slices/12 inches in diameter and excellent. Great balance of cheese to sauce ratio with a nice thin crust although I wish it had more of a crispy hold to it since the slices kind of flopped down. Truth be told, I wish we chose an appetizer and shared one pizza because it was quite big for me but Id recommend the Margarita ($20) as an excellent choice. I'd like to return again to try other selections on the menu for dinner. I lean towards favoring Society Cafe when it comes to Brunch but overall, this is a great spot for a delicious meal at any time of the day.

Located inside a cute hotel, it's a charming restaurant. Service was excellent but we all felt the food was average. I ordered the lamb meatballs appetizer and it came out room temperature / cold. For an entree I had the porcini risotto which was fine. Needed salt and pepper. All the cocktails were great. We definitely would come back to hang out at the bar and have drinks.

Cane here last year, for a special Gemini themed dinner for my birthday. When I walked, I noticed the sitting area, and the inside was very nice and cozy. There's a bar towards the back. The staff was great. Along with the Gemni dining theme, a fortune teller was included , and i had to indulge. The dining area is towards the back, and the chef did really well with the menu. Everything was tasty, and I enjoyed the moment as well as the event. All of the birthday guests were given a souvenir bag to take home with Gemini trinkets. I would def return.

We booked for a Valentine's dinner (Feb. 13) at 9:30pm. Unfortunately, the waiter served every table except ours and after 20 minutes, we were able to flag him down. We told him that we were waiting and he apologized and then excused himself for a moment. He never came back nor did he take our order lol. We just got up and left around 10pm after waiting and went somewhere else. I'm sure most of the time they're on top of it but man did they treat us like trash.

Beautiful space. Dimly lit. Greeted by Sara who took care of our first round of drinks!! Thank you Sara. Came here for the astrological dinner for Aquarius. Being that my birthday was last week. What an amazing experience. They had our table set up so beautifully with little trinkets and small gifts that leaned towards the Aquarius. Amethyst stones. Nice scented perfumes. An Aquarius Book. Very nicely put together. The chef came out and explained his choices of dishes to us. Everything had its very own acquired taste to it. The drinks that we had to pay for were so good. I had the Society no.5 which was a bourbon cocktail. So good. Overall a great memorable experience! Had a lovely time here.

Comfortable seating, nice staff, good pancakes, and I like that they don't rush you. It's a pretty spot within the Walker Hotel.

Society Cafe is tucked away inside a hotel and has a very nice and cozy vibe! I loved the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. The furniture was all very sturdy and comfy. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The food was not bad. It was by no means mindblowing, but pretty affordably priced. While the berries and whipped cream on the Olive Oil Pancakes were great, the pancakes themselves were soggy and floppy. I wished they had a little more structural integrity and didn't become mush once I took a bite. It's a great option for a casual brunch.

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUSLY DELICIOUS ‼ I ordered the steak & Eggs breakfast and a latte. The staff was amazing, the decor was inviting, the atmosphere was buzzing. I loved it.

I had brunch here and absolutely loved it, one of the best brunches I have had in New York. Tried their market omlette which came with salad and potatoes which was delicious. It tasted fresh and light. Their chocolate croissant was average and orange juice was very smooth without any pulp (but was not worth $8 in my opinion) The interior was very classy and well-lit. The service was great, very attentive throughout the meal.

Came here with a friend and my husband for dinner. Beautiful interior, it looks like a lovely hotel. We ordered and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the pasta, the chickpea fritter appetizers, my husband the burger, and my friend the fish. My pasta was delicious and was great for leftovers the next day. Chickpea fritters were also really good too. The highlight was the free bread that we absolutely gobbled up two orders of. The butter was so rich and creamy and the bread paired with it beautifully. I would go back just for that bread. The nibble of the burger and fries were good and my friend enjoyed their fish. Overall, would definitely come back. Nothing really notable but an extremely solid place and they definitely do the menu very well.

Ordered steak and eggs and it took forever to get. Service was very slow and somehow the lady to my right (who got in at least 5-10 minutes after me) got her food before me. Nothing was done for this inconvenience. Ended up having to get it to go and not being able to even enjoy the breakfast. Don't think I'll be coming here again. I know it took a long time and it's verified between my check in time on the app and the time I left. Such a bummer because the place was really cute and the hotel entrance was also cute. The lady who got her food is finishing as we speak while I'm sitting here typing this still foodless lol. Going in to work starving now.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. It is downstairs and through the hotel. Made reservations and were seated right away. It was pretty busy. They have a skylight which provides nice lighting inside. The truffle BEC which was delicious. The baby kale Caesar salad which was okay.

I came here for a Taurus themed dinner as part of the Astrology dinner series. It's a monthly themed four course prix-fixe menu that is a collaboration with Executive Chef Nicholas McCann and Lauren Ash, an astrologer from Sanctuary. The chef came out to explain each course and was lovely to speak to Menu Beverage (pick one): - Raging Bull Cocktail: scotch, lemon, mint, pomegranate - Life's Little Pleasure Mocktail: strawberry & mint fizz Amuse: - New Harvest: tuna tartare, pomegranate, green strawberry, nori tuile To Start: - Out of the Ash Comes a New Leaf: jasper hill triple cream, fig, rosemary Mains (pick one): - Spring Offerings: grilled beef cheek, smoked new potato, asparagus, ramps, rosemary - Spring Vegetable Lasagna Dessert: - Dirt Candy: chocolate, fig, strawberry, rose We also got to take some astrology themed goodies home like a tarot card deck from Cosmopolitan, some crystals, perfume. Suzi, the regional director of sales and marketing for Walker Hotels was so nice, attentive, and hospitable throughout the night (along with the entire staff). I had such a great experience!

Honestly wasn't expecting much but was very happy with my brunch experience here. Walking in you feel quite grand, I didn't realize this was connected to a hotel. The interior with the skylight is gorgeous and feels like your dad's library or cigar room. My friend and I tried the truffle BEC and brioche French toast. Wow, both were so rich and hit the spot. Quite heavy, but totally yummy and worth it. Coffee is decent. Service was good. 4.4/5

I was excited to try this restaurant as I had read good things about the brunch. Unfortunately it was very underwhelming. Nothing was bad... The atmosphere is great. Kind of classy mixed with funky. The service was fine. The food was fine. The French toast was pretty good. The potatoes were dry. The Truffle BEC was meh. Couldn't taste the truffle and the bread was super plain. The bacon was dry and slightly burned. All in all a bit of a disappointment

Go for brunch I love this room. But pizza here is not what you want. The staff is so nice and helpful Wish the music is piped into the dining room I'll go back for cocktails on the lobby to hear live music and pass on going for pizza

We drove into Manhattan thinking there would be plenty of parking but that was not the case and some of the neighborhoods we went into. We finally settled into Chelsea and was looking for brunch. We took a chance on Society Café, since we didn't have a reservation. The maître.d said they were pretty booked, but he would try to squeeze us in. He was able to find a spot, but shared that there was a reservation at a certain time that we would have to be done by then. We appreciated that he managed expectations for us, so we didn't feel rushed. We ordered the Truffle BEC and the Brioche French toast and it was delicious! Service was friendly and efficient. The café was quaint with natural lighting through the skylight. We'll definitely be back!

I almost feel bad writing this review because I don't want to give this HIDDEN gem away to the public. I cannot believe I had not heard of or been to this place until last night. The ambiance and setting is absolutely gorgeous, it is quiet in a lovely way where you can hear the people talking to you, and the food and drinks were magnificent. I was shocked at the quality of everything. Service also impeccable. I'll be back here very soon and it skyrocketed on my list of favorite spots.

Great ambiance and food. Came here for happy hour and will definitely be back! The calamari was probably the best I've had at a New York's bar. The margarita pizza and pretzel were also very good!

I loved my experience at Society Cafe! As a vegetarian, I ordered the Chickpea Fries as an appetizer for brunch. I thought they were very soft on the inside but could have been a little more crunchy. The sauce given with them was good! For mains, I ordered the Olive Oil pancakes and Shakshuka Egg which were both very good! The olive oil pancakes were not too sweet and very tasty. The Shakshuka had good flavor! I really enjoyed my brunch here and will surely be back!

The space is every bit as Instagrammable as the photos suggest, with comfortable, spacious booths, skylights and even a fireplace. They take reservations for brunch, and the attentive, gracious service brings your food in rapid succession. The food itself tends more toward serviceable than spectacular; my eggs benedict with potatoes were fine, but no better than any neighborhood spot across the city. I can't recommend the creme brûlée we had for dessert, but the chickpea fries appetizer was an unexpected delight. Overall, Society is best understood as a product of its hotel-restaurant lineage: lush presentation, inoffensive substance, and good stewardship from a thoughtful staff.

They do a really cool prix-fixed menu that is zodiac themed, we went for Aries! It was so delicious, and the chef came out and explained his thought process behind the spices and dishes. I definitely want to go again when I can!

Although it wasn't the easiest getting in contact (call them), when I did, everything was smooth and accommodating. Made a reservation for 8 and the host/servers were able to accommodate according to requests. From running late, to holding onto a cake (birthday), and ensuring we enjoy our time, they all did their due diligence and we were able to have a good time. Food was great - as a table, we shared the Margherita and Society Pizzas (cut into 8 to accommodate our party size) and all got an entree and drink each. The complimentary bread was amazing - popovers with a garlic(?) butter. As for mains, I got the gnocchi and the truffle and mushroom flavor was strong, the sauce was creamy and buttery - everything you can ask for. Had a bite of the brisket burger and it was well executed - cooked medium rare and presented with a good portion of fries. Cocktails and ambiance is why this resturant first came onto my radar and it did not disappoint. Cocktails were well concocted and were easy to drinks and delicious. The ambiance was intimate, moody, and decorated in Christmas decor. Would come again to try their brunch offerings (as the host recommended).

Loved the overall ambiance of the cafe situated inside the lobby of a hotel. Very old English vibes with sun streaming through ceiling windows. The service was also good. My favorite food item was the olive oil pancakes, which were soft and moist. The Avocado toast was plain with barely any avocado, which was a disappointment. They did give us a side of extra Avocado when we brought it to their attention. However, the additional charge for the Avocado took away from the gesture/hospitality. The crispy rice cubes lacked flavor but had great texture. Overall, it had a great ambiance but so-so food.

Fun brunch and dinner spot in NYC that's located inside Walker Hotel in Greenwich. Tucked in the back of the hotel with a nice glass ceiling with natural light. The food is great and perfect for sharing.

Society Cafe is located off the lobby of a boutique hotel (Walker Hotel) in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. Please note, this review is based on my enjoying a cocktail and nosh at the bar upon arrival while my room was being prepared as well as Breakfast/Brunch the following morning prior to departure. First to mention, the space is quaint and warm; the decor and ambiance is classic but modern at the same time. So, first impression is that this place is promising. Next up the greeting, the gentleman who greeted me upon arrival, was welcoming, cordial and attentive. I said that I was waiting for someone and wanted just a cocktail and nosh and bar seating would be perfect ... he motioned me to the bar (immediately adjacent to the entrance). I sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender's friendly smile, he expertly took and prepared my cocktail order, a goose dirty martini, he shook that drink within an inch of its life, served up frosty cold, smooth, and delicious as can be! He too was kind and warm, inviting not quick to serve and move on, my guest arrived, we enjoyed a few more cocktails, a nosh of Chickpea Fries and Blistered Shishito Peppers both perfect portions that hit the spot for an afternoon pick-me-up. The next morning, we were greeted again by the same gentleman as the afternoon prior, he was again, warm, and welcoming, well groomed (we commented about his perfect hair .. LOL) and ready to run the show; by now I gather he is the Manager on staff and with good reason. He guided us to our table, made sure that we were settled in with our menus and ready to enjoy a fantastic first meal of the day! The menu selections are ample, easy to find something for everyone's tastes. We had a tough time deciding but chose to split Market Omelet which came with breakfast potatoes, Murray's Everything Bagel with House Made Lox and a Side of Applewood Bacon ... all portions were perfect and the quality of the preparation on everything was perfect! Our server was attentive and kind, again she welcomed us and treated us like guests in her own home. Society Café is a little gem of a place in the Village, tucked in the back of the Walker Hotel; excellent service and leadership by the Manager on staff (3/23 & 3/24), excellent service and competence by the bartender, he too was there the following morning and excellent service and warmth from our server. I know that NYC has a million places to go, but if you want welcoming warmth, excellent hospitality, and a competent friendly staff, stop here to enjoy it all! I am glad I stayed at the Walker but am ecstatic that I decided not to venture too far beyond the lobby!

Very underwhelming. Ambiance was great - as well as the service. The food, however, failed to impress. Came out a bit on the cooler side with the potatoes having potential to be great - but I had to dig in and find those gems. Otherwise, the potatoes were pretty dry.

Can't say enough nice things about this place. Sought out a lovely little quaint place for my wife to have her birthday breakfast. Did a little bit of research. Saw the pictured ambience and read the reviews of this place and was impressed. Thought we'd give it a try. Apparently it's connected to a hotel and the restaurant is situated in the back. As soon as we walked in a lovely gentleman invited us to take any seat we wanted, and we went over to a small little booth in the corner. Very comfortable and quiet. He immediately greeted us again and asked what we would like to drink. He was so incredibly gracious and polite that I felt I was in a five star restaurant. I love how attentive he was to how my wife wanted her cappuccino, and according to her it was perfect. I asked for orange juice and for the first time in a long time I got something that was not only freshly squeezed, but you could tell was done within the hour. No bitterness just pure fresh orange juice. The menu is not broad, but it is diverse enough to satisfy everybody's palate. The omelette was completely perfect in shape, fluffiness, and ingredients. Fresh wild mushrooms and Gruyère cheese. And I don't know what to say about the potatoes. They were mildly crisp on the outside and incredibly soft on the inside. I would love to know how they cooked them. My wife's BEC was equally perfect. The truffle oil made it so rich and creamy, and the pastry shell was perfectly soft. An amazing combination. We also had a chocolate croissant. Wonderfully fresh. And don't get me started on the whole-grain bread of which I would like to take a loaf home. I think the best part of this experience was the delightful nature of the host who provided our drinks and his continued attentiveness to our needs throughout our visit, complimented by an extremely pleasant waiter, who was equally attentive, along with the fellow who delivered our food, who didn't hesitate to my additional requests of toast and drink. Just an incredibly delightful experience. I will definitely return. And to be honest, for the quality and the ambience it's also a very decent price.

Enjoyed the food and drinks and loooove that they have a fireplace! Also, big bonus -- they have outlets to plug in your devices as you're sitting in comfy banquette seating.

Located inside the Walker Hotel, Society Cafe offers a diverse and excellently priced Happy Hour menu with options ranging from raw oysters to burgers all under $20. Happy Hour is served in the lobby and bar area only Mon-Fri from 4pm-6pm. The lobby area's nightly live music in a modern Art Deco setting adds to the overall experience. A great place to get together for drinks or a night out.

As soon I entered the Walker Hotel's lobby, I absolutely loved this place. I visited it for the first time for brunch on a Saturday at noon. Four friends from school joined me, and everyone complimented me positively on the spot's appearance and chilled vibes. The food and drinks were great, too. I ordered the truffle bec. My friends ordered a waffle sandwich and French toast. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We also shared a pitch of Bellini, and it was delicious. The ambiance is appealing yet not overwhelming. Excellent to spend time with family, close friends, and dates. I would recommend this spot 100%, and I want to return. Let me know how it goes for you.

run don't walk! Chef Nicholas McCann and his team are incredible. I went tonight for an astrology themed dinner and was blown away by the complexity of the dishes, tastes of the local foods and unique twists when it came to sauces, nuts, cheeses etc. I'll be thinking about this meal for many days to come. It's set in a very cute and cozy room as well, nicely decorated. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying the main menu!

Came in on a Saturday afternoon with reservation. The place was fairly occupied, with just several empty tables. Ambiance was super chic and staff were more than helpful. For starter, we ordered Crispy Sticky Rice. Then moved onto Croque Madame Pizza and Salmon Eggs Benedict. Crispy Rice -- it really is sticky, I was expecting slightly less glutinous rice but still nicely fried nonetheless. The spicy Mayo was tasty as well. 9/10 Croque Madame Pizza -- much larger than imagined. I was expected a 6" personal pie, but was pleasantly surprised to see the 8". Really tasty but a bit on the saltier side despite my love for savory flavors. I do appreciate how thin and crispy the crust is. Im not a crust person but man oh man did I devour an entire slice( or two). 9.5/10 Eggs Benedict -- adding salmon (+$5) eggs were cooked to perfection. The hollandaise sauce was a bit lacking in flavor; they've nailed the color though. There were GENEROUS portions of smoked salmon. You really get your moneys worth for this one. The one giveaway is how salty the salmon is. I love salty foods but even I couldn't take how salty it is. Thank god for the side of greens and potatoes. They really helped to wash down the sodium. 8/10 All in all, it was a fairly priced meal. You really get what you pay for. I would definitely go again. 9/10

Food was better than two stars, but the overall experience was disappointing. Perhaps I am fed up with hostesses that are unable to think and reason on the fly. Maybe, I'm at the point where it upsets me that 9 "reserved" tables are empty in the middle of the restaurant while I am told theres no seating and have to eat my entire meal on a ledge overlooking said empty tables.

I've been few times here many years ago. Today me and my wife stopped for a drink. I was retake by the glamor and atmosphere. Great place and we met Victor Gallardo! He recommended me an espresso martini! I was so amazed about his service and professionalism! I'll be back again and again as long as he still my bartender !! Jackson !

Great food, well prepared, good value, lovely staff! The shakshusa was fabulous, as were all the egg and brunch dishes.

So I went here last night with a small group the staff and Bartender I don't remember his name wish I could post the videos was incredible the drinks was on point and very presentable they welcome us with open arms and the food was amazing I would highly recommend and would definitely come again with a larger party big S.O to the bartender I had a blast

3 stars (good visit but not necessarily worth traveling for). Place has good ambiance. The entrance is a lit up staircase leading down to the dining area. All the food was tasty and well executed but the menu is not very adventurous or creative in its offerings. Service was adequate but not very attentive. If you are having trouble getting reservations to a place on a weekend in the city, this is a good alternative choice

I came in for drinks with a large group of friends and my waiter, Joshua, was very accommodating and friendly. The coffee and tea was remarkable and the overall energy of the place was great. Thanks so much Joshua!
