So the pros: more than enough seating, cute on the inside, welcoming MCs, and the gentleman at the door opens it as you leave which is kind. Cons: there were NO drink specials so don't base prices off social media flyers on their page, the tacos were extremely small, they were out of oxtail, 5 wings cost $18, the hookah didn't come over for literal hours for my home girls, Bingo started late and they didn't play the music with the game (it's took an unreasonable amount of time to finish Bingo, karaoke was disorganized and for some reason when you perform the words are BEHIND the person on stage instead of in front which is illogical, the bathroom smelled weird. Oh and the server wasn't attentive, we had to start going to the bar. I wouldn't go back but go try it out for yourself. Just expect to pay Saturday prices on a Tuesday in a city full of spots with Tuesday specials. Oooooh and the place next door parks car on the sidewalk so it's blocked out so be careful of where you may step because someone may have gotten sick.

I've been here a few times via invite. There are two options for parking: Valet or uncovered, unsupervised parking in a lot around the corner. This place has a lively atmosphere, nice décor and two levels for larger parties/events. It is considered to RSVP a table or booth before you arrive, as seating is first-come-first-served. The highlight would be the live entertainment—talented musicians with high energy that keeps the crowd vibing. However, be prepared to splurge. For what you're paying, you might expect more in terms of quality or size; this goes for food and cocktails. They don’t quite justify the premium pricing.

Visited on Saturday for my birthday and had a great time!! Atmosphere very chill. DJ started out on the R&B side and kept the party going! My server was professional and polite despite her bad knee. Parking is very limited so get there early or you'll gave to valet. I'll definitely be visiting again.

Attended the R&B Vines event here. Facility accommodation were great. Wish there were more tables but we enjoyed the swings. The good and drinks were good. I'd go back!

When we were greeted our hostess her name was Shenica (I apologize if it is incorrect) She served table 16 near the DJ booth. She was an absolute pleasure! When the kitchen sent out my gumbo it was fresh and hot and tasted good. I got the fried fish (It is not catfish) but it was seasoned very well and it was good. My friend got the chicken and sausage pasta, when that plate came to table it was smoking hot!!! The chef moved it from the stove to table quickly 😂 that most definitely was a plus. They have an upstairs with swings for photo ops. If you like hookahs they have that. Oooo the Strawberry Lemon drops were good and they keep coming to the table. The valet parking was $20.00. If you want cheaper parking there are a few paid lots around the area. I will most definitely be back. I do hope the service is the same next time!

I went to this event called Rnb vinyl and it's advertised as an RNB event when only 1/3 of the music was actually RNB it was so ratchet and they over sold so there was no place to sit very disappointed

I celebrated my birthday at The Society-HTX, and we had an amazing time. We went on Thursday night/R&B night. There was a live band, amazing singers and the customer service was chef's kiss. We intended to order food but honestly had so much fun that we forgot. We had our own section, I can't remember my waitress's name, but she was a sweetheart and checked on us frequently. I did grab pictures with some staff and singers! I definitely recommend and will return on my next trip to Houston. Thank you so much to the staff for the amazing service.

Went here Friday for a R&B night. I had the BEST time ! I just knew I was gone lose my voice. I had their chicken & sausage pasta & it was so good! Drinks are good as well , a little overpriced but good. Definitely have to hit another R&B event. 10/10 I recommend.

Yelp
BOY WE HAD A TIME THAT FRIDAY NIGHT! Society Kitchen and Kocktails is the ultimate spot for a night out--this place has it all! The drinks were fantastic, perfectly mixed and full of flavor, with something for everyone to enjoy. But what really sets this spot apart is the amazing energy from the staff and hosts. They were welcoming, fun, and made sure everyone was having a great time. The music and DJs were on point, keeping the vibes high all night long. Whether you're in the mood to dance or just hang out with friends, the atmosphere here is perfect for letting loose and having fun. If you're looking for a lively spot to celebrate, party, or just enjoy great company, Society Kitchen and Kocktails is the place to be. Highly recommend--5 stars all the way! PS. It's no photos because a TIME was truly had. IF you know you know!

Yelp
Came here Sunday for our Galentine's brunch. My friend, I was planning it with had been here before and we found out they would accommodate a large party without us having to put a deposit down which was nice. The outside is small, but it's actually a pretty good size once you get inside. There's only valet parking which is $20 and $24 if you're paying with a card. The vibes were nice and they had a DJ playing music when we arrived. Service was fine, but the bottle pricing they had on their QR menu you scan in restaurant did not match the pricing she gave us luckily I looked it up. All the food I got to try was amazing. I'm obsessed with the red beans and rice. Most flavorful I've ever had from a restaurant. I had a fried fish which was two pieces of catfish and fries. You could taste the lemon in the batter it was so good. Didn't get to try the pasta, but my friends said it tasted like jar sauce. My friends said the chicken wings were really good wish I got to try one, but I'll be back. My friend that ordered a burger also said her burger was good. We got to meet the cook she let us know it was her and her husband in the kitchen and they be putting their foot in that food. I'll be back soon just for the delicious food!

Yelp
BE AWARE! The food was pretty good and so were the drinks however make sure you ask for a receipt. It was a group of 5 of us and everyone noticed that when paying the waiter did not let us see our charges. Once I had a moment to calculate everything she gave herself 30% gratuity on each one of our transactions. It's sad that you come to a place for ladies night just to be overcharged.

Yelp
AMAZING! We visited this gem on a Thursday for a birthday party. Didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. There was live music and the singers were great and could actually sing! They knew how to very he crowd engaged! The drinks were pretty good! The service was top notch. Waitresses were friendly and attentive and I didn't feel like I needed to hunt them down when I needed something. This place had a very chill vibe! I ordered the pasta and it was well seasoned and delicious. Will definitely visit again!

Yelp
Ok. I'm trying to be objective but ... I enjoy Thursdays & Sundays here. So I decided to try brunch. Literally everything is way overpriced and the value of the experience is not equal. Paid $73 for a tower of mimosas... the tower is too short for the glass. And it didn't stay chilled. The food was average. Example : oxtails and grits was $40. They force the gratuity too. Overall, I would rate the Sunday brunch a 3 out of 10. I'd prefer to save my hard-earned money for some place that does more than just overcharge... Courtney was cool but not engaging at all. The entire experience fell flat for a total check over $250.

Yelp
Nice spot. Drinks are always flowing. Never had any food but drinks and hookah and I can vouch for. Upstairs is usually more chill... especially on the live music nights. Downstairs is nice and lively. I have noticed drinks prices are cheaper downstairs though... never had bad service, however, if you reserve a table and pay... they WILL give it away to anyone for free if you are even 1 minute late.

Yelp
Came here for R&B VINES event, great venue, the energy is grown and sexy and the everyone is having a great time, drinks were a little pricey. I would come back if it's hosted by the same people.

Yelp
This place has false advertisement. They advertised free sections, but I still paid $50 and they gave horrible seating. I had 4 people and offered to pay 300, but they refused to seat us at a sofa. Hostesses are rude, they serve drinks in cracked glasses, and it's small. Go to Faces where customer service is great. I went here to celebrate my birthday. Worthless...

Yelp
A few of my friends wanted to try a new spot! So, we decided on Society Kitchen and Kocktails to celebrate my friend bday! The food was delicious and very flavorful. And, our greeter was friendly, and the Manager also checked on us as well. Their ambiance was super cool ,and a laid back kinda atmosphere!!!!

Yelp
I went here for a concert and let me just say I will never return it again. The food was not tasty at all, and the drinks were average.

Yelp
2 hr wait for food. It's one of those place that just want to look good and collect money but don't care about operations or their guests. Just turn it into a nightclub. Why advertise it as a restaurant?

Don B.

Yelp
Great night. Came here when they had local singers performing. They have a real stage. I took away one star because the hookah response team didn't get back to me and i ended up leaving sooner because i was tired of waiting on refill. Overall I would go back

Yelp
Been here multiple times and have always had the same issue.you must make a reservation on Thursday night but even after making reservations they will not seat you and will tell you your reservation was not booked.

Juanita H.

Yelp
About last night... Unfortunately, after my very first visit last night, I've been left with a bad taste in my mouth about this place. I made a reservation only to get there and be told, they can't find it, therefore, I have nowhere to sit. Although I showed them the confirmation, I was told that all the other spots were for 'customers who paid for sections/tables' and that they could sit me somewhere, but when the party came, I had to get up. Mind you, there was no option to pay online. Then I was told I could sit upstairs in an empty room alone, and wait two hours for the live band, but when the party came, I had to get up. I told her I was not getting up from anywhere. So this is how you treat your customers??? I asked for a manager but the girl called a waitress over to help. I was told that the online reservation system is outdated and that's why I had no reservation. It doesn't even work! Thank goodness it was only for two people. She sat me in a corner, in a chair by the stairs that was fine right then but once people started coming in, I basically disappeared. I was practically sitting on the floor because all the other seats around me were stools. I couldn't even see the stage and had to maneuver around to get a glimpse. Eventually, I just stood at the bar. The one star is for the people, ambiance and entertainment which is a vibe, gumbo was good and my waitress was sweet. I had been wanting to visit for several weeks and was very disappointed. There are too many other great lounges in Houston and they're popping up daily. If your online system doesn't work, update it if you don't want more reviews like this because you lost a customer. And not just one because I'm basically scouting and will report my experience on all social media apps. I have no desire to return. I've never experience such embarrassment when I go to The Savoy, Quad's, or Rockhouse. I honestly don't see this establishment lasting long if this is how you do business. DO BETTER! Update: Some ignorant person with that lounge messaged me in the most condescending manner!!! I've never experienced such a lack of unprofessionalism. Trash management!!

Yelp
Honest feedback from my 1st and only experience at Society on Sun, Sept 1, 2024. 6 of us purchased a section for a total of $41 per person ($246). Parking was $20 cash (who carries cash anymore?? And $24.65 for cash app, zelle or any other non cash payment...This was worse than Hurricane Beryl price gouging. The first 2 of us arrived and had unnecessary confusion at the door. After them finally finding the name we were given wristbands and told that everyone else in our party would have to pay an additional $25 per person at the door...So now the section total is $346!! WTH? We were told to arrive No Later Than 8:30pm for a concert that was to start at 9pm (flyer advertised B-Day for T. Hart). Almost 2 hours later and the show finally began... SMH. Our entire table ordered drinks and they were OVERLY Strong. I ordered the Aztec Old Fashion and was largely disappointed. The drink is supposed to be served w/1 square of circular ice cube. Only 1. I had several smile cubes as if I ordered a coke or sprite. Ironically, when I asked for water, it came with NO ICE. SMH. Old Fashions are ALWAYS served with Maraschino Cherries! It adds to the flavor of a VERY STRONG & BOLD DRINK. I'm obviously a drinker to order an old fashion... so when I was told that they didn't have anymore (maraschino cherries) because they ran out the night before. I didn't care about that. What the server told me was that they are not prepared and they are not well equipped at the bar. That's an inventory issue. SMH. She never offered to bring me anything else. I've never been out with family and friends and ALL drinks are horrible...bartenders, please go back for training. Davenports and Urban Social have the best bartenders in Houston (in my opinion)! I ordered the following items for food. Gumbo and Salmon. The taste was great. Just a tad bit salty but very very good taste! I would order food from there again (to go) or possibly eat at the bar... My only issue with the food was that my gumbo and main course came out at the exact same time. Why would I need or want the gumbo with my salmon, green beans and mash potatoes sitting to get cold? I was puzzled as to why I had a huge silver spoon for such a small cup of gumbo and No Silverware for the main course. Was I expected to use the gumbo spoon for the salmon and green beans?? I asked for silverware for my food and was brought back 2 plastic to go packs?? Really? SMH. To wipe my hands with, I was given 1 white paper towel. The same kind I would use to dry my hands in the restroom!?? SMH. The server comes to our table and says that a card needs to be on file. I asked why? She said that's what they require. I responded that I wanted to pay for my ticket in full right now and cash out. I noticed that my total was $65. I asked it that $65 screen that she brushed past and took me straight to her tip screen, already included a tip? She hesitantly responded, "Yes"... I had planned on leaving her a $20 tip for the night but since it was already added, I only gave her what she automatically gave herself. The show Finally Started and it was surprisingly good. I enjoyed the entertainment and would go see many of the artists at an individual concert! I must say, the best thing about the evening was the taste & temperature of the food and the entertainment. Would I go back? For me it's a hard NO. The lack of quality service is a deal breaker for me. To pay high-end pricing for low level service is a challenge for me. I will pay for what I want to eat, drink, etc... I will not overpay and receive subpar quality... They simply don't fit and I shouldn't be expected to. My recommendation is to tighten up the drinks, bar inventory, service quality, silverware & actual black cloth napkins. I hope this review is helpful and proves to be quality feedback.

Yelp
Food was really good and seasoned well and and the service is 10 out of 10. We had a server name Jag and she was really knowledgeable and provided great service.
