Sofia's Pizza

A delicious pizza/Italian restaurant in Ozone Park. The staff were courteous and helpful. I had a pepperoni roll with a bottle of tea. The pepperoni roll was loaded with pepperoni, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella. The side of dipping marinara sauce was equally as delicious. I highly recommend Sofia's Pizzeria.

Ordered while staying at one of the near by JFK hotels. Came fast and hot. It was very good and would recommend it

Stayed at the residence Marriott Inn. This restaurant came highly recommended by a locals excellent service grade food 10 to 10 recommend and would go again.

Quality in food has gone down for eggplant/chicken parmesan heroes. Used to taste so fresh. They also stopped carrying that delicious fancy gourmet ice cream that was rightly expensive because it was amazing.

I want to thank Sofia’s Pizza for turning a frustrating afternoon into a great memory. Our small group was headed to Italy when we had a cancelled flight and had to stay overnight in NY. We needed somewhere to go to pass the time until our new flight left. Our hotel recommended Sofia’s and we are so glad they did. Everyone was so friendly, gave us tips on Italy and served up some amazing food. Our trip turned into an absolute success and I feel like this was the perfect start. Salute!

First let me say the service was amazing!!! The staff was so friendly and really took care of us. I would go back just because of them! But the food was also amazing! I loved in NYC for 1 year and I thought the pizza was great. They also gave us a free slice of cake which was super nice. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend!

Awesome authentic meals. Great service from friendly staff. If you visit the Hyatt/Resorts Casino do yourself a favor and go eat here instead of the on site restaurants. Take credit cards but small discount for cash.

We had a late flight and our luggage didn't arrive so what else would solve the world's problems but NY pizza. Truthfully, this was not our first choice but it's what was open and available. We used a food delivery service and that proved to be slightly problematic when our pizza came slid over to the side of the box. Flavors were good. The slices were foldable and soft. Crust was crisp and soft. Just as it should be. I would 100% recommend the pizza but maybe not the bike delivery people.

As a loyal customer, I was quite frustrated with the quality, especially given the price of $3.75. I value the quality of food your establishment typically offers, and this experience was not up to the usual standard. As I got home, my slice was melted and drenched in the bag. From the dough being soggy to the cheese falling right off. (I live 2 mins away by walk)

We ordered from here through the yelp app, which uses Grubhub. We got a large pepperoni and jalapeño pizza and the caprese salad. The caprese salad was delicious! Really good fresh mozzarella. They give you French bread with it too. The pizza was huge! And we ate the entire thing. That's how good it was!

The customer service was cool. The person was really patient over the phone. We ordered a spinach pizza, calamari, and a salad. The calamari and pizza were really bland. They tasted a lot better once I dipped them in them the marinara sauce. We didn't try the pizza yet. We were told that the pizza is really good, so maybe if we ordered a different type of pizza or marinara style it'd of been good. The pizza and salad were really big.

Wow, Long Over due review !!! My most sincere apologies for not Yelping you guys out !!! Been one of our family favorites since the late 90's or so when ya's 1st started out next door you guys wowed us back then and you guys still have it !!! We've always had a great experience with ya's as we just did today Tuesday 2/21/23 around 2pm... Over 15 to 20 varieties of pizza's pies for fast & ready to go by the slice ready & waiting for ya's !!! Always the friendliest counter guys as well as their servers if you choose to dine in which we did and have done numerous times ... Our favorite appetizer's; Fried calamari always seasoned & fried perfectly and their marinara sauce complement it so well.. Caesar salad; always fresh & delicious.... Pasta's; Hands down my favorite is their Shrimp Monacacini, Shrimp in a Marsala sauce, fresh mushrooms, fresh mozzarella over fettuccine super delicious; 2nd Favorite is their penny à la vodka, always delicious .... Entrees; Chicken Marsala & their Chicken Franchise hits just right !! Portions are always on point !!! Pizza; they always have at least 10 to 15 different kind of pies made fresh ready to go by the slice a real deal pizzeria, they toss & bake out pies constantly.... Today they had the perfect combo slice ; Bacon carbonara chicken With built in baby garlic knots on the crust !! Like Wow !!! Love their Eggplant Slice, chicken, marsala slice also their grilled chicken, Caesar salad, slice always fresh and delicious !!! Their lil dining room is always super clean as well as their entire pizza counter selection window !!! Again, we apologize for this long overdue review. You guys deserve this 5 Star review and we wish you continued success you deserve it !!! Highly recommend and yes we would drive out of our way to patronize this establishment..... Just a head up; make sure you have quarters for the parking meters but no worries they take plastic . This pizzeria has been in the community for a long time. They have some amazing unique slices that I really enjoyed eating. The pizza with the garlic knots crust was very enjoyable. My favorite was the squared caprice slice. Also the spinach slice was scrumptious. Aside from pizza they have signature pasta dishes like the money bags. It comes with a creamy vodka sauce and I got it with grilled shrimp. I also tried the chicken cutlet hero. They do get busy during the lunch rush. But they are quick at making your pies and getting your order ready. It's a nice and clean pizzeria. Make sure to check them out.

A Giants fan in New York?!?!?? Lol. This place was amazing. The owner took care of us. The food was amazing! Exactly what I would expect from a secret hole in the wall Italian joint. The pasta... perfectly Al dente. The tiramisu was almost like your get in Italy. The atmosphere was so warm and authentic, we just kept eating, drinking and chatting it up! I will be back. This was overall an incredible experience. Not to mention their delivery folks were so busy! You know that's a great sign!!! Thanks for hosting us. Your hospitality was just perfect! 5+ stars! I tend to be hyper-critical when it comes to pizza and Italian food, which stems from where I grew up and my ethnicity. One of my colleagues who is more familiar with Italian food in Queens than I am spoke highly of Sofia's, which prompted me to bookmark it here on Yelp and place it on my radar. I was in Queens recently for work, and one of our partners provided an educational lunch for us catered from Sofia's. What a wonderful coincidence, and I instantly got excited to check out some of Sofia's offerings. I did a little research and discovered that while Sofia's is primarily a pizza spot, they do cater and have a wide variety of Italian dishes (confirmed of course by my the food that was sitting in front of me). We had a large spread: garden salad with mozzarella cheese, broccoli, lemon chicken with capers, salmon, eggplant parmesan, penne vodka, and a big plate of bread. I tried the salad, broccoli, lemon chicken, and penne vodka. The food was good; taking into account that it was delivered, I thought they did a great job with making sure it was packed properly and that the taste/quality would last as it traveled. The penne vodka and chicken were on par with other good Italian spots I've been to, and the broccoli was really a standout. It was prepared with lots of garlic which it exactly how I like it. Overall, I was impressed with Sofia's, and my experience with their food here has prompted me to check them out in person. I'm also curious about their pizza, so a trip is definitely in order. As my list of go-tos in Queens is pretty slim, I'm glad to add this place to my collection.

This place is spotless clean!!! Amount business they do unbelievable, delivery guys in and out! Very welcoming staff. Their pizzas are on the display, and makes your mouth watery. They have daily specials, gotta try the osso buco over linguini! They also have skirt steak, lamb shank. I had to have their antipasto salad, had a slice of buffalo chicken and pepper steak sandwich.

Had a delivery. This was a pile of mess. Overloaded. Flavorless. Soggy crust. Stuck near airport figured nothing better than local pie. In two words - utter disappointment. Search for pizza elsewhere.

I ordered some food for delivery to my hotel as the hotel recommended this restaurant. After I placed the order I was told it would take 25-45 mins. Later, the app showed my order would take almost an hour to arrive and when the hour came an and went, still no food! Luckily I had a packet of peanuts in my room as the hotel doesn't have a restaurant.

Little old school pizzeria & restaurant with delicious pizza and so many entrees to choose from . Great local place which I traveled to from long island . Worth the trip ! Everyone super nice !

This place is a Gem right across from Home Depot. Offering up Italian dishes and of course good pizza. We had a lobster dish highly recommended by Frankie and it did not disappoint! The lobster was perfect! The fettuccine exquisite. Lovely place. My wife and I also took note how he interacts with the community, a man entered the shop, u can tell he was not doing well, he had no money but was hungry, Frankie fed him. I mean he didn't think twice about it . Good good but most of all the workers , cooks , chefs & owners are decent good people! This place should be on your list to visit. Be back soon Frankie.

I ordered a chicken Caesar salad with chicken and there was a fly in it crawling on the breadcrumbs!!! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!

I was dying for a New York Pizza simply because it's been pre pandemic. I found this place through a recommendation and followed up on Yelp. The pizza was ordered well done and arrived medium, the pizza didn't knock my socks off but it wasn't horrible either. The comparison between New York pizza being better vs South Florida pizza was unfounded. I've had better pizza in S Florida then in New York. This was my 3rd time traveling back home and all 3 times S Florida pizza equaled or was better. Orlando has the best pizza I've had in years. In New York I'd definitely consider this one again.

I eat from here a lot. Good takeout and delivery, the wings and wraps are great. Guys are nice, quick grab and on the go type of spot

A few friends and I ordered from this place when I was visiting them. I decided to order the Penne Fiorentini, which consists of chicken cutlet, spinach, mushrooms in pink sauce, topped with fresh mozzarella. We also got garlic knots to share. When our food was delivered, it came in a pizza carton. At first we thought the restaurant got our meal wrong, but we quickly found that all our food was neatly packed inside the pizza box. I thought this was a really unique and ingenious way to do delivery. My Penne Fiorentini was chock full of deliciously well seasoned, tender, and slightly crispy chicken cutlet pieces, as well as fresh veggies, and plenty of well balanced, tasty pink sauce. All this worked really well with the melty cheese and perfectly cooked pasta. The garlic knots were extremely garlicy, with actual garlic and butter. They were also delightfully soft on the inside, while still having a satisfying crunchy exterior. I also got to try onion rings, as well as the lasagna with sausage. The onion rings were wonderfully golden crispy and mouthwatering. The lasagna with sausage was yummy as well, with the sausage being juicy and flavorful. The marinara sauce combined with a plethora of cheese and pasta were oh so luscious and good! I am happy I had the opportunity to try this place when I did because normally it wouldn't even be on my radar because it's pretty far out there in Queens. I would definitely like to try the seafood or one of the traditional Italian specialties from this spot next time I visit my friends who live nearby.

Great service- fast and friendly. We had the meat lovers, cheese and cheeseburger pizzas as well as the Sofia salad. Everything was fresh and excellent tasting.

Food is always on point. Wait time isn't too long. A lot of staff working and always friendly.

We usually order for delivery. They have an awesome eggplant parm grandma pie and their white spinach pie is also delicious.

Lots of people come and go for takeout, Sam gave them a 10 I gave them an eight so we're giving them an average of 8.5 unfortunately their Credit card machine was down so I had to go next-door to get cash. Also I got a beast patty to go for later.

I am from out of town and visit my grandma often. A few years ago, i was wanting some lentil soup and i found this place. They have the BEST lentil soup. Even better than my homemade. I even placed an order for it for my aunt from Florida to have it delivered to her house in Queens when she was not feeling well. She loved it. I recently went to visit my grandma and ordered pizza & lentil soup. The pizza was delicious! I even froze a few slices and when i thawed it out, it was just as delicious. I will continue to order from this place. they have so many other yummy Italian food i need to try. Kuddos to this place for always being CONSISTENT!

Top tier service! We came in after a long and frustrating day of traveling and were warmly received! In a blink of an eye the staff were pushing tables together to make room for our party of 5. They were personable and charismatic. The open windows and door made the perfect summer environment! Pizza was good! Lots of options- something to please everyone. The friendliness of the staff is reason enough to come here! They even gave us a slice on the house. I asked for a cup of water, but there was an issue with the soft drink machine, so I was promptly offered a cup of seltzer instead! They are problem solvers who anticipate the needs of their customers.

Quality food with quality service. Finding good NY style pizza in NY is actually more difficult than you would think. However, Sofia's does it right! Literally everything on their menu is top notch. My favs are the chipotle slice and their shrimp salad. They also have frozen sangrias and what better way to do pizza than with wine. The sangria packs a punch so don't be fooled, this ain't your regularly slushee.

So we ordered a buffalo pizza with garlic knots as the crust. Big full filling pizza. Try if your around the area.

We visited Sofia's last week and were very impressed. We got an array of slices and a spinach roll and everything was solid. We loved the sauce, I had a margarita and a Buffalo chicken with garlic knots crust, kids had various but their favorite was the chicken with garlic knot crust, vodka slice and the lasagne slice. Super friendly owners and very reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

$25 for a pepperoni pizza is getting out of hand..$80 for 3 pies with Tax. I did like the pizza but not as good as Miss Ellies....

Gotta say Sofia's is one the the best PIZZA in south Ozone park. I literally live few blocks from here so it's one of my go to places. I normally go for the plain slices extra crispy and garlic knots. They are attentive and fast at what the do. If you're ever in the area please make sure and stop by, you'll never be disappointed I guaranteed it.

Good pizza delivered to my hotel, with massive amounts of veggies. This large pie arrived fast. The bread is the classic NY style, the vegetables were all over in plentiful proportions, I never had a vegetarian pizza with this much veggies, and so chunky that the veggies were cut in larger than one inch pieces. The sauce was ok and did not blow me away. The driver didn't offer me red pepper or Parmesan cheese. My only complaint is that pizza was not piping hot, maybe because it's cold outside (42 degrees) and the delivery guy didn't have it in a hot pouch? For that reason I cannot honestly give you the 5 stars. Maybe next time I dine in instead of delivery and I can up the stars.

They have been consistent with their food every time we came here. It is a mom-pop shop and staffs are friendly. Dishes are always delicious and big. Prices are reasonable and all dishes are made fresh. I like them speciality pasta menu, specially pesto, bake ziti, garlic linguini and lasagna.

What an enjoyable neighborhood pizza shop! Menu has it all, portions that will fill you up(aka-a gut buster), in a very complimentary way. Starts w/ the family; with both Michael and Joe there on our visit. Michael (owners cousin) is a joy to be around, and a music DJ, meaning he selects great songs for their playlist. He also knows the joy of great service with great joy. Joe, owners newphew, has it going as well. So you get it...family food, family fun...you become one! I usually get the deep dish meat lovers...spaghetti and meat balls I loved too..great food and and service....even the delivery guys always friendly.

So far every time I order from there, whether it be a slice or pie, the food is always undercooked. dough is still raw, cheese can't stay on the slice and the pizzas are floating in grease. Even the garlic knots were undercooked. Horrible food. I've had better pizza out of a box from the freezer.

7 hr flight delay at JFK so decided to catch Uber and get food. Sofia's was the spot. Ordered pizza by the slice & a couple dinners. All were tasty & hit the spot. Friendly owner & staff. Overall good place to eat

Omgg this pizza is so delicious. It's a little on the pricey side but well worth it. We ordered one large pizza; half pepperoni half buffalo chicken with garlic knots as the crust. When I tell y'all it's so good, mmm, mm good. They accept cards but some of them may come with a 3.5% surcharge. If you're in the area and want to pay for quality, go here!

I live in Brooklyn and I when ever I'm in the area I stop by and pick up a grandma & and an upside down pie that are arguably better than L&B

I ordered some food saturday night since I was way too lazy to cook and the food was some of the best I've had in a long time. The pasta was creamy and absolutely delicious and the slices of pizza were huge. Since it's only me two slices filled me up super fast. There was a good amount of mushrooms and cheese on the pie. Nice thin crust and filling flavors.

We stumbled across Sofia's pizza after our original plan was closed for a month. So glad we did! Sofia's pizza is a small place and possibly family-owned. We heard one woman refer to one of the men as "Uncle." We weren't sure if we could dine in. They were extemely busy packing boxes and to-go orders. But one of the ladies said we could dine in and set up a table for us. We found out that they were packing lunches for people at vaccination sights. How awesome!! She said they do this a few times a week. From an outsider, it looked like chaos. But this crew had the system down pat! As for the pizza! OMG!! So many to choose from! We asked a couple of staff to tell us what were the popular dishes. They said "all." :) So we settled on a buffalo chicken, a mushroom with basalmic vinegar, a mac n cheese pizza, chicken alfredo, BBQ and one with prosciutto pieces. This pizzas weren't all round. Some even had knots as the crust. My favorite slices were the mushroom with balsamic and the mac-n-cheese. One was a little sweeter and the other had enough salt for balance. We loved trying these unique slices. As we were dining, about six firefighters came in to order food. I've always heard that a place is really good if the police & firefighters are eating at the location. People were coming in to get orders to go. Sofia's Pizza has pasta orders too. We were just overwhelmed with the pizza that we didn't bother looking at the pasta. The staff was so incredibly nice. Even as they were packing boxes, they answered our questions and got our pizza orders right. Very hospitable staff. Parking in the area is almost non-existent, just because of the location. So if you're picking up an order, be prepared to walk a couple of blocks. But people should definitely try Sofia's pizza.

Really hate these assholes. This is the second and last time I will be ordering from them. Ordered a large half mushroom half pineapple for pickup and gave them about 20 minutes until I went to get it. Get there and they didn't even start making it yet. They must have rushed it because when I did get it, it was trash. No sorry for the wait, no nothing. Is it because I'm brown?

Stereotype of a "hole in the wall" restaurant, but it is AWESOME! Great service, wide variety of food and everything I've had was a huge portion and delicious. Staying at the Resort World Hyatt nearby, this place is 100% with the walk or a cab ride to get away from the pathetic dining options at the Hyatt. Have had the Walker's special, and the Pollo Saporita. Both were amazing and it is a hard choice to not do them again and try something new. Just go eat there already!!!!!

I was staying at a JFK Airport hotel whose restaurant was closed. I ordered delivery from Sofias and the food was great. Chicken Parm, spaghetti and garlic knots. The food was fantastic, delivered hot and great big portions. I'd eat here again in a NY second. Next time through the area I'll eat at the restaurant to check it out. 5 Stars...!!!!

This place is amazing, I always get my pizzas and grill chicken Caesar salads from here and every time it is delicious!!!! Definitely recommend this place
