"Sogonggan is a double entendre that can be read as “a small space” or “a space dealing with beef.” Its thoughtfully crafted menu is rooted in Korean cuisine. The chef spent many years perfecting his Western cuisine before making the switch to its Korean counterpart. He says the switching has made cooking more enjoyable and comforting as if he were finally wearing a tailored suit. Indeed, his sense of happiness is genuinely reflected in the fare. With Sogonggan’s elegant plating, original dishes, and refined Korean menu lineup, such as beef bone soup simmered in-house for 48 hours and pot rice, the “small space” moniker is unquestionably a misnomer." - Michelin Inspector

The 29 Best Restaurants in Busan, South Korea | Eater

"Sogonggan serves beef in various styles, covering Busan’s greatest, meaty hits. Well-designed dinner courses might start with small bites of seafood and vegetables. But then comes the meat: grilled tenderloin, sirloin, beef soup and rice, and optional additions of coveted beef parts, like rib-eye cap, depending on availability." - Summer Sun-Min Lee

Absolutely fabulous experience tonight at this lovely restaurant. Already noticed by Michelin, it’s well deserved as the food and ambience is excellent with a great wine list to accompany. The chef combines classic cookery techniques with modern and ancient Korean authentic flavours, and it was hard to pick a favourite dish. They were all so good. We sat at the chefs table/kitchen counter and he took the time to explain each dish to us in detail (we were interested in the origins of the Korean flavours). Also excellent value at the price point as the build up of courses is deceptively filling! Come hungry. We had the special cut of Hanwoo beef in addition (and extra veg) and we were rather full by the end! Highly recommend this experience if you enjoy fine dining but without too much stuffiness. I wish Chef all the best for his future endeavours (and he’d be most welcome in Scotland should he ever visit- he could do wonderful things with our seafood!).

I thought this was a great dining experience, bringing in some really great flavours and ideas into each dish. I find for the experience that it was well priced. I liked everything and didn’t hate any particular dish. Definitely there were standouts too. The most surprising part of the whole experience was how absolutely delicious and smooth the coffee at the end was! We ended up buying a couple of the bottles, we were obsessed.

I went there with my family and had a very nice time. I was very pleased that they allow children to dine here and have a special meal (beef bone soup, rice, dessert) planned out just for them. The chef comes by to explain all the courses and is very personable. The tilefish and hanwoo beef were just top notch. Come hungry as the tasting menu is quite substantial. I hope this place gets more attention and business as it is very deserving of it.

We recently visited a Michelin Elegant and Fine Dining restaurant in Busan to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had made a reservation a month in advance since we were a party of seven, and we were really looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, due to heavy traffic, we arrived about 20 minutes late and couldn’t return to the hotel to change into more suitable attire. We immediately apologized for our delay, and the staff was understanding. Overall, the service was good, the food was fantastic, and the chef was very friendly, explaining each dish in detail. However, one minor downside was that the staff asked us to keep our voices down, even though the restaurant wasn’t crowded that evening. There were only two tables occupied: our group of seven and another couple seated at a distance. While we understood the restaurant’s fine dining atmosphere, it did dampen the celebratory mood a little. For those planning to visit, I would recommend dressing more elegantly and suggest keeping your group small—no more than four people—to avoid being too loud. Also, be mindful of the corkage fee if you plan to bring your own wine, as it’s on the pricier side. That said, you'll surely enjoy a delightful Michelin dining experience here.

Great first fine dining experience in Busan. Chef Park Ki Sub explained each of the dishes. Atmosphere was classy and ambient. The morille mushroom, buckwheat noodles flavour, and quality of the beef were the highlights. Definitely one to check out in Busan

Korean beef and the buck wheat noodle were awesome! Pricing wise I’m not sure what’s the typical fine cuisine pricing in Busan, dinner was 145,000 won per person and we also ordered a bottle of wine.

Fantastic fine dining experience! We tried their Spring Lunch menu in May 2024, and fully enjoyed ourselves! Extraordinary service, nice atmosphere - and most importantly - great food!

We had an amazing dinner! Everything was delicious and served with perfect timing and attention to details, the staff even noted I am left handed and changed the side of the mise en place. But the thing we enjoyed the most and made the experience unique, was the fact that the chef came to our table for every course and explained to us all the dishes in detail, serving us even the wine. We absolutely recommend this restaurant!
