Soi Thai Street Food & Sake Bar - Review - Sweetwater - Miami - The Infatuation

"Trust the name of this place: Soi Thai is where you should go for excellent Thai street food. We’re talking spicy papaya salads with real dried shrimp, crispy whole fried chicken wings dusted in a tangy seasoning that’ll make you pucker like a pufferfish, and velvety massaman curry that clings to tender braised beef and potatoes. But because this is Miami (specifically Sweetwater), they also do a fun spin on traditional nuoc cham by combining it with chimichurri. It deserves to be doused on everything. For such a small, unsuspecting spot, this colorful strip mall restaurant is setting a new (and very welcome) pace for bold, fiery Thai food in Miami." - Virginia Otazo

The service here was great and we loved the spicy spare rib appetizer and the sake. I can see this place being fantastic if I was between classes at FIU with an appetite for Thai and could afford the prices. The papaya salad was also very good. We also had the beef tallow fried rice but it looked nothing like it does in the photo of the menu and just isn't worth $22; that's kind of an insult to be honest. It was a small piece of beef over a bowl of rice. With sake for 2 people and a 20% tip I spent over $100 (after having the ice cream comped) and that just seemed unjust given the portions and what you could get for $100 at the fritanga a few doors down. The Pad Woo Sen was tasty but barely had any chicken it. Flavors are good but prices are too high given how much protein is involved. A friend said that this was superior to Lung Yay Thai and I could not agree with the statement.

An absolute game changer. An amazing spot to chill and enjoy some amazing authentic Thai food. The flavors and the aromas were unmatched! I ordered the Beef Tallow Fried Rice 🔥🔥🔥 cooked to perfection! Shoutout to the Chef 🙏🏼 I had their Tom Yum Shrimp soup 🔥🔥🔥 definitely my favorite soup! I also had some dessert, I had their Coconut Ice Cream 🔥🔥🔥 amazing!! Service was amazing. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Miami I love it here !! I’m plotting my next visit! Soi isn’t just a meal it’s a Vibe !! The best thing to ever hit Sweetwater hands down!

I had such a wonderful experience at Soi Thai! The food was absolutely excellent — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every dish tasted authentic and beautifully balanced. The presentation was also on point, and the portions were generous without being overdone. The service made the experience even better. The owner and cooks were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind from start to finish. The staff checked in just enough without hovering, and everything came out promptly. Whether you’re a Thai food lover or trying it for the first time, I highly recommend Soi Thai. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite — definitely a place worth coming back to!

What an amazing spot! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is fun and welcoming perfect for a night out with friends. All the food was absolutely delicious, and everything was packed with flavor. My personal favorites were the spicy crispy fish salad and the Tom Yum shrimp both so fresh and full of that perfect balance of spice and tang. The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the dishes came out beautifully plated. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to again and again!

I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. Crispy Pad Thai was perfectly cooked, with a nice balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors, fried dumplings added a wonderful crunchy texture that complemented the meal beautifully. Tom Yum Shrimp was equally impressive rich, fragrant, and spicy with just the right amount of sourness, and the shrimp were fresh and juicy. Crab Fried Rice was another highlight fragrant, flavorful, and generously filled with tender crab meat that made every bite satisfying. On top of that, the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine.

Google
High Quality, portions on the small side. The location is beautiful. Tom Yum soup is absolutely delicious with freshly grilled shrimp and authentic Thai flavor, I just wish there was an option for a bigger size since it was 1/3 of the container and only had 4 shrimp. I’ve had almost all of the Tom Yum soups in Miami and I do have to say this one is the BEST. Sour, Sweet, Umami, and some red thai chilis for a light spice. Get an appetizer to go with this to get full ! Also got the Mango Sticky Rice and this is divine. Also one of my top favs in Miami. Not too sweet, with an unsweetened coconut cream to top it. Fresh, smooth and sweet mangos ! I’ll be back to try all of the menu eventually and i’ll update this 😁🔥🔥

Google
Very delicious Authentic Thai food! Staff is so kind and the food came out so fast I was shocked! Will definitely be eating here all the time. Also love how the restaurant is decorated and the waiters uniforms are very cool!

Google
I will be returning to this establishment and try out their other dishes. Some things that they need to improve: better cutting in the pork ribs, the cartilage is too hard and getting one in every bite is annoying. Fix the sauce as well. It has too much of one ingredient, not sure which one. Cut the spring rolls in half. Saves people from having to wait to eat them and burning their mouths. Fish chicharon was on point, good job. First time I’ve seen it in a Thai restaurant here in Miami. Well balanced and extremely tasty. Kai soi is missing depth, it has good taste on the curry. But everything else is slacking. The braised beef over powered the dish and it’s just not balanced yet. Very fatty and just not what I expected. The coconut kat (forgot the name sorry!) was… just not my style, I’ll leave this to personal preference. The crab fried rice was on point. That was awesome! I will try this again.

Yelp
Looking for the best Thai food in Miami hands down its here. When I first looked at the address I was like this can't be right, but it was. Small strip shopping center with lots of parking. From the minute you park you smell the aromas seeping thru the ventanita turned into a take out window. The restaurant is small but has a super nice vibe. What takes it to a different level is the service and the flavors. Not your traditional Thai restaurant with huge portions and kinda small options but definitely worth it. My suggestion to the chef add my favorite Thai dish panang curry with bamboo sticks congratulations on bringing taste and quality without breaking the bank.

Yelp

Yelp
SOI Thai Street Food is my new favorite Thai restaurant! Nestled in a strip mall by FIU, you'll find SOI Thai Street Food making really delicious food for excellent value. I have gone a few times and find the food terrifically consistent. Where do we begin? Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls - These actually come crispy with a delicious vegetable filling that is soft and a savory bite with the chili sauce. Sauteed Morning Glory with Congee - I always look for some greens with Asian cuisine. Cooked with a nice sauce their morning Glory will have you nibbling on the garlicky greens. Crispy Chicken Thigh - I haven't gotten the chicken wings here yet because the crispy chicken thigh just rules. Super crunchy, flattened and sliced, the crispy chicken thigh represents good cooking and another delicious offering on your plate. Shrimp Pad Thai - Classic Thai dish now if you want it really spicy you can ask them for some of their chili oil and eat with proper heat! You won't find overcooked shrimp here - they know how to cook! Beef Tallow Fried Rice - This dish surprised me because of the quality of the cook of the sliced steak. Mid-rare with some egg: AMEN! There are restaurants in the world where you want them to succeed. The team works hard and cares and the kitchen is spotless!!! I will gladly bring anyone here to eat and have been telling people to come. Go today and find delicious Thai Street Food and you won't have anything to complain about because they rule!!

Yelp
Hands down most authentic tasting Thai food I've had in Miami. I visit Thailand frequently and am always disappointed when I come home and want a fix but no one can quite match those street Thai smells and tastes. Soi Thai hit the mark! Found this place while searching online for a place to eat a few weeks back and finally had a chance to stop by. The place is small with a few tables inside to sit down and eat. They have a bar serving up drinks and sake. The walls are decorated with fluorescent pictures of elephants and Buddha much like what you find in the streets of Thailand. The staff are also really friendly. We had the papaya salad and morning glory to start. The moment the papaya salad came I was transported back to Bangkok. I have never found a place in Miami serving morning glory due to its shelf life and it's my favorite vegetable so my heart and my stomach were non doing a happy dance. For the main course, I went with the Khao Soi, my favorite northern Thai dish and the flavors were immaculate. I lived their version the crispy chicken thigh. The holy basil with beef was also fantastic. If you're like me and enjoy the Thai heat in your food, you will need to ask them to make it more spicy since most of the dishes come with light to medium spice to soothe the locals lol. We topped off the meal with the mango sticky rice and a Thai coffee. Another delicious choice with my only complaint being not enough mango in the dessert. I love the big pieces you get on the streets and these were a little small. Overall this was a great find and my new favorite spot for delicious Thai food. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
We love Thai food and we found Soi ! We are very glad to have found it ! Soi is in my top 2 Thai restaurants in Miami. The place is cool, well decorated with art and lights that give you the vibe that you're in a hip area in Bangkok. They have a sake bar, which I plan to try in a future visit. But the star here was the food. We ordered the shrimp Pad Thai, and the Khao Soi. The shrimp pad Thai was very flavorful. It was sweet tangy and just delicious. The Khao Soi was warm, spicy, and full of flavor. Overall a really wonderful experience. The food, the friendly and quick service, together with the vibes make this a spot to visit time and time again.

Yelp
I'm so glad a delicious Thai spot finally opened in Flagler! The menu is packed with bold, flavorful dishes. Since it was my first visit, I ordered the Fried Pad Thai appetizer, and for my main dish I had the Khao Soi, my all-time favorite Thai dish. I was genuinely blown away. The flavors transported me back to my time in Bangkok, with the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and acidic, like a little dance for your tastebuds. The customer service was warm and attentive, which made the experience even better. Can't wait to come back and try more! They offer dine-in and takeout. I am a HUGE FAN!

Yelp
I loved the Spicy Fish Salad. The Spicy Fish Salad is FIRE. Really spicy with lots of good fresh fish flavor. Restaurant is beautiful with a delightful menu of selections. The best Thai streetfood I have ever had. Nice employees, and good food. I cant wait to come here again and try the other menu items.

Yelp
Best authentic Thai restaurant in Miami. I always like start my dinner with a delicious Tom Yum Shrimp soup. Absolutely a must order to start your meal, as it is by far the best Thai soup I ever had in my life. Afterwards pick any entree from the menu, as you will always discover something incredibly delicious that will make you want to keep coming back to taste other dishes. The chef, Ono, who happens to be a partner is highly passionate about his craft along with his joyful assistant, who cooks with a big smile and with lots of love, Titi. The server , Heng, who happens also to be partner, is quite a character in a good way ... always jolly, charming and eager to serve you. Cheers!

Yelp
Came for dinner it was chaos but worth it. The food is amazing. Flavor bomb and authentic. Must have masaman curry. Portions are on the small side so not great for sharing. Unless you want to go crazy sampling. It was busy and many items were sold out. But they just opened 5 days ago. Will definitely come back and can see myself ordering takeout on a regular basis. Service was excellent despite the craziness. Super cool neon lights and decor. I enjoyed every moment. It was an experience.

Yelp
Hands down the best Thai food I've had in Miami. As someone who has had Michelin star Thai food, this place stood out. The Khao Soi was delicious and had the right balance of spice and creaminess. The Pad Thai tasted authentic and not overly sweet like many Thai restaurants make it. Also, the Thai Iced tea was very tasty, I just wish it was a little bigger size. The service was quick and very kind. Overall, I would highly recommend checking out SOI.

Yelp
Delicious food and great vibes. Khao Soi was elite. I will definitely be visiting again.

Yelp
Best Thai food in Miami. I almost don't want to write this review cus I don't want the restaurant to be packed every time we try to eat there. Small, well decorated. Good service. Parking spaces are small but who cares.

Yelp
Great spot! Food was extremely tasty and service was great! The place is a bit small and for dinner there was a bit of a line but that tells you how popular this place is. The rice was very delicious, the pad Thai was perfect! We will definitely be coming back!
