For a truly authentic taste of Mexico try Sol y Luna and you will not be disappointed! The service is above and beyond from the time we walked in the door. Make sure you get the table side guacamole it is wonderful. Margaritas are superb, not some cheap tequila. Did I mention the size of the lime slice? Huge. Our table had a selection of menu items drinks through desert. We were throughly happy with our experience, with the exception of walking to the parking lot in the rain. When does it rain in LA? Apparently today.

Chips and salsa, delicious. Drinks, on point and consistent. Food, I’m looking forward to coming back. There is valet parking, which was helpful. And also the other side is that coin is there is only valet parking. Overall great vibe, good place to with friends, date night, or to celebrate.

The food was great, the service was alright, unfortunately, we kept getting forgotten. We sat toward the back at their patio....which was still cozy... They have heaters... but it was a nice night... I said yes!

Sol y Luna Great ambiance, good music volume, good service, GOOD HORCHATA! lol. Chile relleno burrito came in: 1. Wet (I didn’t ask wether it was wet or not but it’s ok) 2. Melted Mozzarella on top, good size chile relleno inside, it still had the top stem, pieces of avocado inside and loaded with beans (I got black beans) 3. The server was polite and excellent with his timing checking in 4. Parking is valet only or you can park in the street, parking can be a problem front busy hours 5. Total price without tip $21.68 All in all good experience but the chile relleno still lacked flavor, I’m thinking if they added a little more flavor to the sauce this would be a perfect burrito and visit. Also, they give you delicious chips and salsa. You get a very good amount of chips and you get a red Molcajete salsa and a green one, I enjoyed the red one the most.

Google
Cheers, Soy y Luna, this was a delicious raspberry margarita. Sat outside in their covered patio, which I prefer as it's a bit less crowded and not as loud as the restaurant. I have been here a number of times with my husband, family, and friends, and keep forgetting to write a review. Finally, here we are late and overdue. First, the fish ceviche is absolutely delicious; I crave it. I have had their potato and beef hard shell tacos, and again, yum. My husband usually orders the burrito, and it takes effort to finish it. The burritos, according to him, are delicious and very filling. Neighborhood spot, nothing fancy, and won't break the budget. The staff is always friendly, and the wait time is never too long, no matter what day or time you dine.

Google
It is always a good experience here besides the long wants to be seated, but all in all, the wait is worth it! The food is delicious, and they have yummy cocktails/margaritas!! 😋

Tableside Guacamole 🥑: 10/10 Cadillac Margarita 🍹: 9/10 good, not great Potato Hard Shell Taco 🌮: 10/10 (one of the best Potato tacos) Beef Tamale 🫔: 8/10 (beef was a bit dry) Chicken Enchilada 🐔: 3/10 (chicken was super dry!)

The food was delicious! We had the molcajete and fresh guacamole, and both were amazing. The service was top-notch—I’ve never been to a place where they check in so often to make sure everything is perfect. Our server, Julie, was awesome! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Sol and Luna is truly an amazing place to dine, any time of day! My favorite spot is definitely at the bar, where you'll find Mr. Francisco behind the counter, ready with fantastic menu suggestions, expertly crafted cocktails, and the perfect spot to catch the LA Dodgers on the TV screens. It really doesn't get any better! We always look forward to returning here. The food is absolutely authentic and delicious--no matter what you order, it's a winner every time. If you want great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a bit of local sports flair, this is the place to be!

Yelp
The restaurant took me back to the old Mexican restaurants of my youth with the large mural, decorative booths, and dark ambiance. I was told that the table side guac was a must, so I ordered that, a chicken tamal, and a side of rice. The tamal came with a side scoop of guac, so I got to taste the difference between the fresh guac and the 3-oz scoop on the menu. The table side was so worth it. When I cut into the tamal, the fresh corn smell really hit me, and the masa was very moist. I somehow ended up with mole on top, and it was a bit too earthy for me. The side rice was cooked perfectly and was a nice addition to my meal. The restaurant got busy very quickly as the lunch crowd arrived, so service felt a little inattentive. I never got a water refill and no one checked in with me between bringing my meal and bringing the check. I don't know if it was that I was sitting alone or if I was just so quiet that they forgot about me, but it would have been nice if they had asked if I needed anything else. Would I return, though? Sure.

Yelp
My husband and I had a rare opportunity for a day-date and decided to check out Sol Y Luna in Tarzana. We came in around 3 PM on a Saturday, and to our surprise, the place was packed! Right away, we were greeted with complimentary chips and salsa, which were super fresh and flavorful. We also ordered a small side of guacamole, and it totally hit the spot. I tried the coconut blended margarita and it was a 10/10. The texture was smooth and icy (not watery or chunky like some places), and the coconut flavor was delicious without being overpowering. For our mains, I ordered the coctel de camaron, which was fresh and full of lime & veggies, and my husband had the chile Colorado burrito, which he enjoyed, but felt it was over-salted (which is saying a lot, because he is obsessed with salt). The food overall was tasty, and our server was friendly and attentive. That said, we did notice that our food took much longer to come out compared to other tables around us. It seemed like our order may not have been put in right away, which was a bit of a bummer. Still, the atmosphere was fun; the decor is colorful and festive, and there was upbeat music playing that added to the lively vibe. All in all, it was a great experience, and we'd definitely come back... maybe just not when we're super hungry!

Yelp
AMOR y MARGARITAS Aquí Just stopped in for a drink - but can't WAIT to come back!! The drinks are awesome and the menu looks phenomenal!!!

Yelp
Always a nice place to go and wind down with their fabulous guacamole, drinks and food. Warm and cozy ambiance with minimal noise level. Service was amazing all around. No wait time to be seated. There is street parking and valet.

Yelp
Nice sit down restaurant for Mexican food. I've been here many times and it's always consistent. They start off by giving you chips and salsa that are so addicting lol I go through baskets of them. For my entree, I got the hard shell taco and cheese enchilada for a little variety and it comes with rice and beans. I also shared the molcajete which imo is the best entrée on the menu and you can always take leftovers home. Of course you have to get the guac made table-side! There's valet for parking or metered spots. You can usually find an open spot relatively close by. Enjoy :)

Yelp
Went with family- I had an old fashion and I was having great conversation and accidentally ordered the wrong thing. Turned out all to be great: the tamale and taco plate, comes with rice, beans and a small portion of guacamole. I wanted to order the enchilada and taco. The tamale was chicken and the taco was fish. Huge portion, I couldn't finish it. Reheated the taco and some beans for the next day- all still delicious. The service was on point- we opt for outdoor seating, the decor was lovely. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
This is a great restaurant in Tarzana if you want some good Mexican food. It's small, cutely, decorated, amazing service, and guacamole made fresh at the table side. My only critique that might be negative is that it is very loud in there, which makes conversations a bit difficult, but rather than that, I had a great experience.
google avatar

Shawn F.

Yelp
As always they serve the best quality food and great margaritas. Servers and bartenders are the best.

Yelp
-Solid Mexican restaurant, great food, drinks and service! Been coming her for last 6 years, chile relleno is delish, they offer grilled veggie in lieu of bean, al dente and seasoned perfectly.

Yelp
We stumbled on this place and wanted to try it out. We were a walk in so we were told we have to wait 30min but they did open up a bit sooner as we agreed to sit outside. Inside is kinda dark but works with the decor. Service was a bit slow but the food was good. I would probably try it again to try more food options as what we had was good.

Yelp
We visited here for the first time this last weekend and just have to say-the food was stellar! Really flavorful and fresh! The service was incredibly nice. The ambience very fun! We ordered a combination plate and shredded beef burrito. Both were great! We also opted for the table-side guacamole! Only drawback is the bogus valet parking in the back on weekends. Any way,When you're in Tarzana again, do yourself a favor and stop in!
google avatar

Yelp
Sol y Luna was nothing short of amazing on our last company dinner. It was a large party and they accommodated us beautifully. The staff is extremely friendly and fast. What stole the show was the guacamole, they make it table side! Loved everything about this place, their menu is extensive and bar is even more appealing! Parking is tight but they do have Valet in the back. Don't miss out!

Yelp
So we usually really enjoy this place, but after last night I need to reevaluate. We were wrapping up a pretty good dinner when the busser at the table across from us dropped something (not sure exactly what) but it resulted in an abundance of green salsa flying at me and my husband. My dress and hair was covered, so was his shirt and he even got salsa in his eyes which were burning. The busser ran away (which is weird but fine, I don't blame her) but no one seemed to care. The waitress said "this happens all the time" as if it's normal to cover guests in salsa other people have eaten from. The manager I guess brought us napkins? But then no one looked after us again until they brought us the check. They didn't remove anything from the bill for the inconvenience. Not a care in the world, meanwhile I'm still finding green in my hair at the table. We paid our bill and left, and won't be back.

Yelp
First and last time here. The good Atmosphere amazing. guacamole fantastic. Chips were delicious. The bad 2 out 3 orders were wrong. Waitress didn't believe me when I said I ordered cheese enchiladas. She checked, came back and said yes I did and she would fix it. What was that. Lol I think I should know what I ordered. I tasted the chicken enchilada and the chicken was very dry and tasteless. The red salsa tastes like gym locker B. O.

Yelp
This is hands down our new favorite Mexican spot in the city. Walked in and right away noticed how clean everything was, which I always appreciate. The decor is beautiful, there's a big mural, and all these sun and moon art pieces that give it a warm, cozy vibe. While we were there, a couple of birthday celebrations happened and the entire restaurant (including everyone seated) was clapping and cheering, felt like a big family party. Loved the energy. Service was great. Our server Claudia was really friendly! Food: The chips and salsa were amazing (we couldn't stop eating them), and they make the guac fresh right at your table which was a really nice touch. We got the enchiladas, tamal, crispy tacos, and shrimp ceviche. Everything was on point, but I have to say... the ceviche blew me away. I never eat seafood, especially shrimp, and I actually loved it. There's parking in the back (might be valet, not totally sure), but we parked on the street and it was super easy.

Yelp
I'm glad I tried it the food was delicious and great size portions! The chips and salsa were good as well. I'm glad to have another option out in the Valley with great service

Yelp
Food - 4 Cocktails - 0 Never arrived but the table of 10 next to us, who arrived after us, did get theirs. Server just said ok like she was irritated with us for cancelling them since we already had our main order . She apologized later but initially acted irritated. Didn't offer them at no cost and apologized as it got close to bill and tip. Our table wasn't checked on at all between appetizer and food brought out. Had to ask for a water refill and she served water to 10 top while we sat and waited even though we requested. Service - 2 We still tipped 20% even though it wasn't a 20% tip service. Bad first impression.

Yelp
Delicious food! And great service. Francisco and Luis are the best. Best nachos in Los Angeles. Very fresh and crispy.
google avatar

Nancy S.

Yelp
Sol y Luna was wonderful! I was so pleasantly surprised! I ordered a shrimp enchilada with mole sauce and a beef tamale. Both were exceptional. I liked the mole flavor, unlike some other reviews. Generous shrimp. The beef in the tamale was very tasty. I like that they have white rice with corn and cilantro, my favorite. The service was so nice, with a couple bus boys stopping by just to make sure we didn't need anything. The decor is eclectic and fun. I will totally go back, what a nice experience. I had to pay a valet $10 to park in the restaurant lot. Otherwise street parking was limited to one hour.

Yelp
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting this Mexican restaurant in Tarzana, CA, with a friend who lives nearby and is practically a regular. She always spoke highly of this place, and now I understand why. They have their no-reservations policy, so we decided to sit at the bar to skip the wait. We started with the ceviche, which is made of white fish. And we also ordered the nachos, loaded with cheese and beans--absolutely to die for! The convenience of parking was a pleasant surprise, with a nearby plaza and plenty of street parking. In short, it was a fantastic dining experience that lived up to all the hype. I can tell from the people waiting outside that it's a trendy spot for individuals, couples, and families.
google avatar

Alex P.

Yelp
Table side guac was the best thing here. We got that and molcajete for two. The shrimp was cooked okayish, steak was good and chicken was eh. The chicken was a little dry for my taste. Service was great tho! They're so fast and efficient. The inside is really crowded and tight. There's no where to move. We did sit outside which was nice. Good to try but not crazy for it.
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
Definitely more "upscale" than your average Mexican restaurant but still delivers on flavor! Everything we had here was solid! Place looks super cool for a special event.
google avatar

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't done a review on this place yet. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the valley. We just dine here recently and experience is just as good as first time I came here many years ago. Meter parking is available on Ventura Blvd as well as valet parking in the back. We arrived just before the dinner rush on weekday and were seated immediately in the main dining area. Love atmosphere...the vibrant wall art, tropical plants, dim lighting and artistic decor are so atheistically inviting. They also have seating available at bar and patio. Quick and attentive service too. Soon as we sat down we were served fresh chips and salsa, which is so addictingly good. They also make fresh guacamole prepared table side. We ordered the crispy beef taco/chicken enchilada combo and beef enchiladas plate which comes with rice and refried beans. The taco was perfectly crisp and so tasty. Pico de gallo and cheese adds a nice layer of deliciousness to every bite. The beef and chicken enchiladas were solid as well. Even the rice and beans were on point. Nothing but positive vibes here. Definitely recommend coming here...

Darlene R.

Yelp
Guys!!! We love you enough to DoorDash you with express delivery! And, we get zero utensils, one bundle of salsas for 4 separate plates and my tacos don't have sour cream! Unacceptable! You can do better!
google avatar

Kristine A.

Yelp
Having a birthday lunch on a Monday.. so bomb . Lunch special is perfect Great price great music choice. They're playing Maná and the food is perfect. They open at noon Monday through Friday. Come for lunch get the lunch special.
google avatar

Melissa A.

Yelp
We came in on a weekday and even at 4 it was packed! No worries though. We grabbed a table at the bar. Their margs are awesome. The molcajete is our absolute favorite! Their rice and beans are delicious and their table side guacamole is yummy. It's worth the wait.
google avatar

Braden V.

Yelp
The food and drinks are good, but you can get pretty much the same food at their sister restaurant, Las Fuentes, for much less. There are times you may want a fancier place for a special occasion and don't mind the extra expense, so go for it, but at this price range, there are other options to choose from with a better dining experience. Their table side guac is really good. Definitely a must if you come here. Their rice is different from the usual traditional Mexican rice, so be ready for that. Their margaritas are pretty good. From a service point of view, it was about average. We had to constantly ask for a refill on chips (many other places proactively keep it full). And just like Las Fuentes, parking is an adventure (if you don't want to pay for valet). Crossing that part of Ventura Blvd is like playing live action Frogger.
google avatar

Sean W.

Yelp
Sol y Luna is an amazing Mexican food gem in the Valley. The burrito de pollo is probably my favorite burrito ever. The burrito is packed with shredded chicken, beans, and cheese and topped with ranchera sauce. Pro tip: get extra beans and extra sauce. The burrito is super filling, and it really comes with a lot of chicken. The chips and salsa are easy to fill up on because they're so delicious. If you're feeling fancy, get the table side prepared fresh guacamole. You won't regret it. The servers are always super friendly and helpful. This place gets pretty busy on nights and weekends. Street parking can be difficult, so you might have to park in their valet lot behind the restaurant.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant. We came here on a Thursday night and decided to sit at a table in the bar. I definitely recommend starting with the table side guacamole. I had the enchiladas and I really enjoyed them. Their chips and salsa are delicious and the margaritas were a hit. If you are looking for great Mexican food and a great atmosphere this is the place!
google avatar

Tracey Z.

Yelp
Food is always delicious and arrives very quickly considering how busy this restaurant always is.
google avatar

Natalie B.

Yelp
Yes yes YESSSSS. This was exactly the type of vibe I was looking for. I was craving a Mexican food that really felt like was made with love and home made and when you come to this place it feels like that. It was so welcoming, energetic, and lively. The waitress was super kind and was excited for our meal to come too. We got some margaritas, the avocado mix, and some other huge dishes. It was beautiful.

V. E. D.

Yelp
Service was slow. Drinks were weak. Food was OK. Long line to get in oh and they have raised their prices..

Jorge T.

Yelp
Great food and great ambience. Service was a 10. Recommend this place. Delicious guacamole made fresh.

Maria A.

Yelp
I went yesterday with my friend everything was so good until Today that I get to eat the rest of my burrito and found a piece of plastic wrap in the middle of it !
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
Food is yummy!! Table side guac, traditional hard shell tacos, queso dip with chorizo, chili verde, chili Colorado - just a few of our faves. It's an upscale version with menu items from Melodies and Las Fuentes - and it's a fun place to celebrate something. We still love Las Fuentes the best!! Green Salsa.
google avatar

Gladys B.

Yelp
Love this place and ambience. Wait can be a while depending on what time you go but they are quick and their customer service is great. Food is yummy and the place just had a feeling of family. Bartenders are great and drinks are also excellent!

Vick B.

Yelp
Terrible Experience, Food & Service use to be good but not anymore. Waited almost 1 hour for our food and only ordered appetizers. On top of that they bring my food microwaved! Stay away from this place
google avatar

Yelp
Was sitting pool side today with margarita in hand .. really was craving home made guac.. decided to order the table side guac with salsa and chips.. First of all, the chips are freshly made and PERFECTLY salted . The guacamole was not to spicy but perfect and so fresh. The home made salsa was absolutely delicious.. The perfect afternoon treat.
google avatar

Sally N.

Yelp
The food was very tasty. A lot to choose from. The server was a bit slow and would forget that you asked for something. I think there was a line forming before they opened.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Service, food, ambiance always 10/10 . This is our go to spot when we are out visiting my mother in law!
google avatar

Yelp
pulled up in a classic car valet had couple spots where i could park but valet guy kicked me out because "they can not afford to pay for a classic car" when they got mercedes benz, audi, bmw and other expensive cars the guy was so rude and told me to park on the street that was already a bummer comfirmed our place on the waiting list with the text message from sol y luna and waited for an hour in the cold outside bench 15min after my place is #1 on the waiting list the girl infront tells me is about to be an hour more because according to her we didnt comfirmed but with the worse attitude worse than if she was the manager or even the owner cant believe this place we always come to would give us such a horrible experience
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
Last night we went with a group and 3 of us are very sick. TMI, but we are throwing up, having repeated diarrhea, or both. The 3 of us had beef and chicken. The rest of the party had ceviche, beans and rice, and guacamole and they are all fine. Beware if you're going soon! Seems like a bad batch of meat.

Yelp
This place is lively and serves excellent authentic Mexican food. On any day of the week you can find locals gathering at Sol Y Luna for great service and a fun atmosphere. The portions are large and reasonably priced. Highly recommend the fresh guacamole made fresh at your table,

Austin C.

Yelp
Sol y Luna lives up to every expectation a Mexican Restaurant should . Chips and salsa are fantastic, drinks are flavorful and come out fast, the ambiance transports you to a Latin vacation, and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I just wish they were open for breakfast too!!
google avatar

Commen H.

Yelp
Great place to celebrate a special occasion. It's is pricy but so worth it. The food is great parking is horrible bring cash to valet. Very dark lit inside. So can make for an intimate setting. The service is decent.
google avatar

Vanessa G.

Yelp
The food was delicious! We had the molcajete and fresh guacamole, and both were amazing. The mojito was tasty and pretty strong--just how I like it! The service was top-notch--I've never been to a place where they check in so often to make sure everything is perfect. Our server, Julie, was awesome! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Marian G.

Yelp
The food is authentic and fresh. We had guacamole made fresh in front of us at our table which was supper delicious. I had the shrimp enchilada with rice. This is a great place for family, friends to gather and have great food and drinks. I had a delicious margarita. The mixologist was wonderful at his/her craft at mixing cocktail. My server was pleasant and attentive to our table. The decor in this restaurant will transform you into an outdoor atmosphere but you are inside the restaurant. The hand painted mural is vibrant with color. There is valet parking available. The price per portion of plate is prefect.

Remelyn B.

Yelp
Definitely better to eat there than order the food to be delivered. We ordered nachos and it tasted old and texture was soggy. The same with the nacho chips that came with the food. The meat on the Plato de Carnitas was tough and the flavor was not there. I gave my review a 2 because my burrito de Machaca and plantain was good. I'm so disappointed because this restaurant is well recommended. Also, it would be good if they sealed the bag when it was sent out for delivery . Anyone can just open the lids and have a little taste. It's a shame first impression is not good. Will look for a different restaurant to order next time the family is craving Mexican.
