The 18 Best Happy Hours In Philadelphia - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"When: Monday-Friday, 4-6pm, Saturday & Sunday, 12-2pm The Deal: $2 Off Draft Wine By-The-Glass, $6 Off Carafes, and 20% Off Champagne (Sundays) Solar Myth on South Broad may not have the cheapest happy hour deals in Philly. But their wine is always interesting—the kind of thing you don't see elsewhere around town—so any discount feels like a win. Snag a spot at the bar or bring a date to listen to vinyl through the speakers and drink something surprising. Solar Myth also has regularly scheduled experimental jazz shows, which require tickets." - candis mclean

The Most Fun Bars In Philly Right Now - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Solar Myth on South Broad feels like a wine bar met a music venue and lived happily ever after with their vinyl shop baby. During the day, you can come with a laptop for coffee and tomato pie from Mighty Bread Co. Then, at night, the vinyl gets cranked up and groups of friends split nice bottles of cinsault. Come at midnight and there's a chance you'll see two people making out on a banquette in the corner. Solar Myth also has regularly scheduled experimental jazz shows, which require tickets." - candis mclean

Google
Comfy indie wine bar with vinyl music, delicious wine, and chill friendly vibes. The venue in the back is great for small shows and the staff and patrons alike are music and wine lovers you’ll want to stay around and spend time with. An easy place to work, meet, or simply hang out any time day or night.

Google
Amazing natural wine list, and didn’t even get to touch the Amato list, which was a whole separate page on its own. Loved the staff, very cool vibes inside. Laid back, and perfect place to get lost in good convo with an excellent drink to accompany.

Google
Heard my music mentor perform there. Did not try the food. Atmosphere was lively. Music stage was in the back. I could hear the bar crowd from inside the performance area. The sound system was okay but not first class. I'm speaking as an audiophile. I don't feel that a small business like this one can afford to have sound equipment and facilities for top-notch sound. It was adequate, but there are limits to what amplification can achieve in terms of preserving sound quality.

Google
Small space. Small vinyl shop in front, then food/coffee/wine bar, then event space in back, all laid out shotgun style. Event space is small with decent acoustics. Staff was unfailingly polite, friendly, courteous. Will definitely return next time someone I'm interested in seeing comes through.

Google
great atmosphere and tunes. Philly doesn't have many cafes that are open late. solar myth is the perfect place to hangout. also they have Tomato Pie slices with spicy honey. it's awesome.

Stopped by Solar Myth for drinks while walking up Broad with friends. Didn't quite know what to expect but came away impressed. The vibe is very hipster, but a more chill, inviting hipster vibe that I can spend some time in. Had a great wine selection, cool vinyl selection, and very impressive beer prices. Will be back.

Google
Great place. Outstanding avant garde selection of records to purchase paired with a cafe, bar, and live music venue. Incredibly friendly barkeep who only added to the experience. Stop in to listen to a rotating selection of vinyl records whilst having a pint of local beer. Or just have a coffee. Wonderful space which deserves a hat tip.

Yelp
Probably one of my favorite spots we explored in Philly! It's a little isolated from other popular places but worth the trek. I love the fact that they kept the original signage from the bar that was here before. The inside is full of character and charm. They serve coffee and pastries during the day and natural wine at night. They also have a music venue in the back with shows happening all throughout the month. They have a huge vinyl collection and only play vinyl while you sip and enjoy. This particular day, a few folks were working remote from the cafe tables. We were on vacation and decided to drink some wine. The bartender was so friendly and allowed us to try a few really unique selections. They had natural wine from Uruguay, South Africa, and plenty of other places. The South African wines were probably some of my favorite -- sooo unique and like nothing I've tried before. They also have a small bottle shop where you can make purchases for takeaway, which we ended up doing ourselves. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend this spot to anyone who's a fan of coffee, natural wine, or vinyl!

Yelp
I can only speak to the coffee/record shop vibe but I came here for a little work from shop date with a friend and it was so great! Plenty of seats and plugs. Chai tea latte was great. I loved the overall record shop/bar vibe and the worker was playing great records and was friendly. Food option is just tomato pie and spinach pie so def keep that in mind. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Came to a pop up event SolarMyth hosted with @chibanos_philly. SolarMyth replaced the previous bar that was there and I've loved what they've done to the place. They serve coffee, have a large wine selection (mostly New World), live music sometimes and lots and lots of vinyls. Ambiance creates a fun modern vibe. I just love the atmosphere. Also enjoyed talking to the bar staff. Come in for a cup of coffee or a glass of vino. I hope they continue having food pop-up because Chibanos sandwich was delicious.

Yelp
Pros: It was easy to find parking nearby, it's a big open space that doesn't feel cramped. It seems like people can comfortably hang out at a leisurely pace. It looks like they have a nice LP collection behind the bar but I wouldn't know because they did not have a reference list out, (so I can only assume they had an interesting collection). Anyway it looks nice. Cons: We went in there on a Sunday afternoon w/ hopes for a good jazz vibe, & there was actually no vibe at all. We stood at the bar for awhile, during which time the 2 young women behind the bar w/ blank expressions didn't even acknowledge us (even though there were probably only 5 customers in the whole place). One of the woman behind the bar was (s l o w l y) making someone a coffee & the other one was (s l o w l y) pouring a glass of wine for someone. Neither one of them spoke or acknowledged us. Finally one of them stuck 2 menus in front of us w/o even looking at us (we actually didn't ask for menus of course because no one spoke to us, so no words were exchanged...). So....we just left, which is funny because one of the young women finally did then glance at us w/ a look of mild surprise on her face, which in turn made me laugh, because if that's the best she can do personality wise, tending bar, it's probably all downhill from there.... The most amusing part of all this was that we were there w/ a very well known jazz musician to check the place out & the experience fell totally flat. Needless to say, we won't be rushing back....

Yelp
Popped in for a midday drink on a Sunday and this place, while super unassuming, is pretty cool. It's an intimate space where some people are doing work on laptops. There is bar seating with couches along the sides. Behind the bar is an impressive collection of records that are in rotating use. The shop area in the front has some vinyls for sale by artists I truly had never heard of and some interesting books matching the vibe. We were super pleased that they offered a happy hour on a Sunday, with $6 off wine carafes. We got their tap house red wine for ~18 and it was about 4 glasses, which was a great price. Was it the best wine? No, but can't beat the price. And it was worth it for the environment. They offer shows/events so I would consider coming back for one of these.

Yelp
Great ambiance late at night! Definitely a wine lover's place in the evening with few other options if you're not interested in that. Have not tried this as a coffee bar, but it seems like a nice space to hang out during the day. Worth checking out :)

Yelp
Fun place to grab a glass of wine before dinner. Natural wines from all over the world and the bartenders are very helpful in assisting you pick a wine. Vinyl here and live music as well. Great vibes and great wines.

Yelp
First time here to the old Boot and Saddle bar/music venue (that sadly was a victim of COVID) now transformed into a jazz club/bar/jazz record shop. It's very cool. Clean, with a friendly staff. They serve drinks in actual glasses, not plastic cups. Love this! There is a long bar and several small round tables. Lots of record publications and jazz vinyl. Jazz plays during the day on the turn table. Saw Orrin Evans Quintet. The room is small, perhaps 200 folding chairs. Sound is excellent. Audience seasoned jazz aficionados. Very pleasant experience.

Yelp
The myths are true, Boot and Saddle has been rebooted as a cafe, wine bar and jazz venue! Big shoes to fill so I hope they don't myth! Went on a Saturday night around 8 and was able to snag a table for 6, but as soon as the show got out it was very busy! The vibe is chill and the clientele is very mustached. You can buy records, and it wasn't too loud. They put some work into it since Boot and Saddle and it looks cool. The wine list has glasses for $7.50-14, carrafes for about $22-$27 (you can get 3 large glasses out of 1), and bottles $65-150. Sparkling, reds, whites, rosés, and skin contact wines from all over. There were some beers on tap, some cans and bottles, and amaro and vermouth but no cocktails. They had some non-alcoholic options too if you're doing dryanuary. We ordered at the bar which didn't take too long. Happy hour 4-6 M-F and 12-2 on weekends. It opens at 8 am or 7am as a coffee shop. Right now the only food they have is mighty bread pastries around coffee time and tomato pie and giardinera, hoping they expand their food options. Looking forward to saddling up to the coffee bar and jazzed about checking out a show but so far Solar Myth is looking like sunny skies ahead!

Yelp
I came to Solar Myth a few Fridays ago with a colleague to get some work done. The vibe was much warmer than a cold, sterile, dusty office. Actually, the vibe was so warm that it warmed up my fingers and I typed much faster than usual. My colleague and I sat in the back so we could chat without disturbing the other folks who were also there getting work done. We had an incredibly productive co-working meeting and caught up on a lot of important stuff. The service was excellent. I felt welcomed and at home in this space. I'll be returning to Solar Myth next time I need to get work done but don't feel like working in a stale, sterile office. Solar Myth is a great option for when you get bored of WFH. Sometimes all you need is a change of scenery to really get the creative juices flowing. Bring a coworker with you so you can brag about it on your Slack status.

Yelp
Love this place. I wouldn't have thought that there'd be a big market for this, but I often underestimate the awesomeness of Philadelphians. Interesting wines, coffee, tomato pie, and vinyl. This is my kind of place. You can hang out and work remotely by day. Came for a show in the back, and the room was great. Seating is a bit cramped, but the sound was good and performance was excellent. My husband was making plans to return before we even left. If I lived closer, I'd be a regular.

Yelp
One of the best bars I went to in New Jersey. The music was absolutely incredible and not too loud so that you could still hear your friends talk.

Yelp
Really neat cafe located where Boot and Saddle used to be. Very, very chill vibe, lots of room and seating, great place to study or do some work. They serve coffee and limited pastries as well as alcoholic drinks. I came here in the afternoon on a Thursday and it was very quiet. I ordered a chai latte and it was delicious and creamy, not too sweet. I would come back for the ambiance and even though my drink was good, it was not special enough for me to return just for that. My friend ordered a cold brew and a croissant both of which she said were average but she agreed with me about the relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. I am not sure what this cafe/bar is like in the evenings but during the day it seems a great place to meet with friends, hunker down and get some work done.. or even bring a book, grab yourself a coffee and read! I found the staff to be friendly and helpful as well.

Yelp
If I were a local, I would be a regular. Musically literate clientele, comfortable venue, small curated group of records for sale, bartender spinning vinyl. When I entered Zambia's W.I.T.C.H. was playing. What a great backdrop for a glass of wine with friends.

Yelp
Came here for live music, and didn't try its food or drink, but thought this is a cool spot until later I realized this is the reboot of Boot and Saddle....good job

Yelp
I love this place! It has a such a cozy, almost moody vibe. I stopped in here for a happy hour on the weekend (Sat & Sun 12-2) and was a happy gal. The deals are good but I do wish they had more food options. The staff was super chill. As a bonus, they have free wifi so I'm definitely going to be back here to work during the week when I need a change of scenery.

Yelp
Light snacks served with a wide variety of wines. Workers were friendly and accommodating of us I love the vibe here!

Yelp
Incredible service, wine list, music and the best fucking tomato pie ever. Sophia is a gem

Yelp
Too expensive for a wine bar on South Broad Street! Staff is rude and almost condescending! Supposed to be a nice Jazz bar but the music they play is so bad! Do not recommend it!

Yelp
new favorite bar! I love the von trapp dark ale on tap. good for a date night or a small group get together

Marissa R.

Yelp
EXCELLENT place to do quiet work on a laptop. Wordless music lends a great ambiance for thinking. Too quiet for video calls or meetings. Coffee and tomato pie doesn't break the bank if you just want to get out of the house regularly.
