Yelp
I've always been obsessed with Thai food, but I'll admit that I've kept it pretty basic. My go-to has usually been Pad Thai with chicken (medium spicy, of course) or a Panang curry.
And while I stand by both, I finally expanded my Thai food horizons thanks to a visit to SomDee and a fantastic waiter with even better recommendations.
Let's just say:
a) I broadened my Thai food knowledge
b) I had an incredible meal
c) I now know there's a world beyond Pad Thai (but yes, I still ordered it too)
So let's dig in:
What we tried:
Triple Treats - Crab wontons, pork egg rolls, and veggie pot stickers
Shrimp Jungle Jam - Flat rice noodles wrapped with red onion, carrots, and basil, topped with grilled colossal shrimp, spicy sauce, crispy onions, chili oil, microgreens, and mint
Lamai Pad Thai - Stir-fried rice noodles with chicken, egg, sprouts, green onion, and a lemongrass-kaffir lime twist
Shrimp Khao Soi - Egg noodles in a creamy yellow coconut curry with crispy noodle topping, fried onions, cilantro, and lime
Thai Tea - Classic, rich, and refreshing
Pink Sway, Pink Slay - White wine, vodka, lime, strawberry, lychee, and rose
Big Sister - Mi Campo Tequila, watermelon fruitful, soka empirical, and lime juice
Best bites & sips:
The Shrimp Jungle Jam absolutely stole the show as it was spicy, layered, and unlike anything I've had before.
The Lamai Pad Thai was also a standout, with that lemongrass twist taking it up a notch.
And the Khao Soi? Creamy, comforting, and super flavorful.
I seriously can't wait to go back and try even more!
