"Soma has an inauspicious exterior—an unmarked door and a bouncer—that descends into a cool metallic bunker of 007 nature. The impressive oval bar acts as a giant sharing table and there’s a short but excellent list of remixed, and sometimes even improved, takes on classic cocktails like the enticing kumquat zing of the mezcal margarita. "Soma is our favorite bar in Soho. It has a lot in common with this area’s other popular drinking dens: it’s underground, it’s relatively small, and it’s got well-dressed clientele. But the thing that sets Soma apart are the smoky, inventive takes on classic cocktails. It’s from the people behind Indian restaurant Kricket and you can expect remixes like a Negroni with burnt cashew, and a thandai butter take on an espresso martini.
