"Somerville Brewing, known for its Slumbrew beers, recently closed after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October 2019. The closure comes as Boynton Yards loses another brewery and taproom." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

"Slumbrew is one of the smallest taprooms in Boston, but the brewery itself has been around a while and has a strong selection of beers. It’s a tiny little bar carved into the corner of their facility in an industrial pocket of Somerville. But in addition to the beers, it squeezes in Sushi-making classes, adult coloring nights, and 50¢ wings on Wednesdays. It’s also one of the few breweries that has a full kitchen, but it’s mostly bar food stuff, and you’re better off sticking to the beers and getting dinner somewhere else." - Dan Secatore

They have mostly IPAs, stouts and Browns. I'm a wheat beer drinker so there wasn't much up my alley. I ended up getting 9 tasters and I only liked 3 of them. The tasters came out to $3.50 each but prices do vary for some. The service was good and it was dead on a Friday evening before 7:30 p.m. so I enjoyed that as well. There are 3 TVs, one had a college football game on and the other 2 were on the cartoon channel. I tried their pulled pork pizza (it was good), tater tots (they were ok but the ketchup was supposed to have chipotle and I didn't taste it), and the BBQ chicken tenders (average) but everything was decent portions. Apparently they have a comedy night on Sundays at 8p for $5 that I will definitely check out soon.

Great place to hang out or kill time at. They have gluten free beer and charcuterie boards which are great for people trying to stay low carb (I gave my carbies away). Also, the bartender was super nice and helped me pick a beer that fit my tastes.

You can get nice beers anywhere in breweries and restaurants etc, but I personally think theirs taste distinguished. Now my favorites are newly released my better half (imperial cream ale) and highlander (scotch ale). several sets of samplers are fun to try. Good selections of foods too. Just one thing is that cooking is slow...

Loved the atmosphere of this brewery. The beer selection was very impressive. I had a pretzel while there. The two dipping sauces served were good.

Busy place that has a very hipster vibe and the organization to match. The whole place is at the start of some great ideas for decor and ambiance with classic ADHD execution. The staff is either overwhelmed with serving clientele beers to miss the finer details of proper restaurant management and bussing or they don't have any more passion for the food and service because they've put it all into their beers. The Sour Peach ale is delicious.

I have been a slumbrew costumer since 2015. I have been there several times by myself, wife, and friends. Everything was good until yesterday. I order a IPL, the body was present, the hops were right, and the citrus hit the spot. As Im enjoying this, I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. They bring it to me, and I start to eat. To my discovery, I noticed that the wrap had only 3 tiny pieces of shredded chicken, and it was loaded with veggies. The amount of meat was practically non existent! I am very disappointed that this franchise has taken this lowly path to make the extra buck! I feel that none else should experience the same. If anyone plans to go, make sure that you receive the decent amount of meat in your sandwich. RESPONSE TO MANAGER's COMMENT: If giving me a side plate with shredded chicken counts as remaking a sandwich, then fine it was remade.

Average brewery, decent food, nothing wrong with it just wasn't a fan of the beer... And the pretzel I got was not that great either.

We were visiting from California. When we travel, we like to visit local microbreweries both because of the beer and because of the normally laid back atmosphere. Slumbrew didn't disappoint! When we arrived at 8:00 the place was packed. We circled the small parking lot and settled on a marginally legal spot out on the street. The reason for the large number of people was trivia night. Lots of mostly college age kids having fun. There is no table service here. All orders, including food were placed through the bartenders. Each of the four of us, including the two under-age root beer drinkers, enjoyed our meal. My wife and I shared a flight of Lobstah Killah, Luma Luma, Flagraiser IPA, and one other. All were very good.
