"Somewhere, a 2,200-square-foot setup in the ground floor of the F1RST Residences, sells coffee from Hyattsville-based Vigilante Coffee Company and pastries from Baked and Wired from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. It offers cappuccinos, lattes, and trendier concoctions like chai or matcha lattes and potent Vietnamese iced coffee. The place also features high-end streetwear and shoes, showcasing brands like Salomon, Marni, and Rick Owens." - Tierney Plumb

"Will Sharp, the D.C.-based designer who co-founded streetwear boutique/Southeast Asian cafe Maketto with chef Erik Bruner-Yang, will soon open another spot that sells hot beverages alongside beanies. Washington City Paper reports that Sharp is leading a team that expects to have a shop called Somewhere up and running in Navy Yard by the end of May. Somewhere will have a clothing store in the back and a coffee shop at the front." - Gabe Hiatt

Google
Working in Navy Yard for years, and I’ve managed to miss this petite coffee shop until today. Coffee shop in the front, designer clothes and sneaker shop in the back. The espresso was very high quality, cannot recommend enough as a great spot for an afternoon pick-me-up. While the clothes and shoes were not consistent with my wardrobe, I cannot recommend them enough for folks who enjoy trying new and upcoming fashion.

The barista was better than the coffee-doing a lot with a little (options). Price was fine. Clothing store and coffee shop is an interesting combination.

What a cute spot near National Park. Great selection of coffee drinks including Vietnamese for those who like sweeter coffee. The barista was friendly and my cappuccino was perfect. Cheers!

Google
oh my glob! I don’t know if the barista put extra love in my latte or they are just always that good. I got the BLUE matcha, not only did it look cool but it was delicious. Accidentally stumbled on this place and I’m glad I did.

I was visiting DC for the weekend and had an impulse to purchase a pair of Rick Owens sneakers. After searching multiple stores, my search was pretty unsuccessful until I was recommended to SOMEWHERE by a friend. They vouched for SOMEWHERE, based on their personal experience, and them to likely carry what I was looking for. I called the store about my inquiry, they confirmed they had the shoe and advised me to out their website for sizing and online order for pickup. I ordered the shoes and headed in that direction right away as it was close to closing time. After fighting DC traffic and BARELY making it, I found that I made the purchase for the other location which, in essence at that time, was already [technically] closed. A total oversight on my end. The staff member, who searched for my order, recognized this and went above and beyond for my rather "urgent" situation as I wanted to wear them that night and I wasn't sure if I'd have the time to get them on another day. He contacted the other location, explained to them my situation, and ultimately facilitated an arrangement for me to pick up my order at the correct store after closing time. The initiative of this particular staff and his ability to go above and beyond possessed me to write a review as he is a direct reflection of what I think this store represents. AMAZING customer service and hard to find high-end street fashion. I am grateful for him (and the staff at the other location to have waited for me). What a FIRE pick up!!!

Google
Fine selection of clothes with helpful and well informed staff! The real bonus is the ability to have coffee there and look around. Honestly, I think all clothing outlets should have a little mini café.

Best chai latte in Navy Yard. Always friendly. Integrated street wear store with compelling clothes.

Somewhere is an incredible, local coffee shop and clothing retailer. I’ve visited this place twice and can’t wait to come back soon. The barista is super friendly and patient while answering questions. They also sell freshly roasted coffee beans with a selection of various processing types and country of origin. Each coffee is finely tuned and tastes delicious. You can also order your drink with the coffee beans they sell. Great for those trying to taste the options before selecting their coffee bag. I got a bag of their Natty Cheffe and look forward to trying it at home. Yet to try their matcha but I’m looking forward to it! They also have a good selection of clothes. Each piece like art: beautiful and unique. Well worth checking them out while you’re waiting on your coffee. Great study spot!

Yelp
This place was not what we expected - we were headed to a different coffee shop, walked passed here, and couldn't not go in. It's such a cool, unique spot. Mostly a clothing shop, very modern and clean. And they just happen to serve coffee. Good coffee. Their menu is simple, but everything you need. And great espresso. A few flavor options for your latte, but nothing overwhelming. Definitely a craft experience, the barista was helpful and made each drink individually. Very cool spot, I'm not sure why it doesn't show up for coffee but I would definitely come here often if I lived or worked in the area.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place with my fiancé while waiting for our Solidcore class, a neighboring gym, to begin. Thought it looked cool but pulled on the door to discover it was closed. The outside has two Ring doorbells on either side, and suddenly, the voice of an overweight security guard (trust I know, he sounded very out of breath). "This is private property, you are trespassing and we will call the police." What? lol. Then a psuedo break in alarm went off for 9 seconds. How strange.

Yelp
Super cute, unique store with cool clothes & sneakers. I came for the blue matcha latte though! Which is actually REALLY good & not just a hyped up drink. Will be coming back to try more of their menu items.

Yelp
Loved the friendly staff at Somewhere! This spot has such a unique, creative vibe. I ordered the blue matcha tea for about $5.

Anthony B.

Yelp
Dope store, cool vibes and art, good coffee, expensive street wear. Definitely a great spot to check out if you're in DC and into street wear or fashion and happen to like coffee as well.

Josh H.

Yelp
Friendly staff, interesting clothing options for streetwear, and a great coffee pop and go. It's basic but I really love their coke brew. Good value for the drinks.

Sarah T.

Yelp
The staff is awesome and the coffee is top quality. Best new coffee shop in navy yard

Hayley G.

Yelp
I was meeting up with a friend for coffee in Navy Yard, and we walked by Somewhere. I never realized before that this is a clothing store AND a coffee bar! The barista was very friendly and the almond milk cappuccino he made me was excellent, albeit very expensive like everything else these days. Street wear is not my style, but I respect the vibe. I think the aesthetic and layout of Somewhere is spot on - I just wish there was more seating inside. Still a great place to go to switch it up in the neighborhood!

Joe J.

Yelp
My friend told me he stumbled into this shop and said it was some sort of pop-up clothing store with coffee. I hesitated because anytime a shop tries to do something with coffee that's not actually coffee, they miserably fail. Well, Somewhere was a true success. Carrying coffee from the Hyattsville-based Coffee roasted "Vigilante", Somewhere's vibe's and energy were just right. I didn't get a chance to take a look at any of the clothes, but I'll save that for next time I drop in near the Navy Yard. I ended up getting a 16 oz. Drip coffee that was Colombian with some earthy tones. I usually enjoy more floral notes but this cup held me down. The human behind the counter treated me like a human and was knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back.

Priscilla T.

Yelp
Excellent espresso and coffee here! I believe they use Vigilante beans (reputable brand). I enjoyed my iced Lavender Latte and some of my friend's Vietnamese Coffee. There's not a lot of indoor seating, but some outdoor. The retail was very Hypebeast and expensive. The barista was very friendly and efficient!

Nikita T.

Yelp
The vibes of Somewhere were good. When you walk in you immediately are hit with the aroma of fresh coffee and they also have sanitizer right by the door. Very hip and happening and trendy, and I love the concept of mixing street fashion with a cafe. The store itself is very minimalistic and open, and they have a selection of some really funky looking high end street wear. The people working in the retail side of the store were pretty nice too, and they even have a little fitting room in the corner. Was not actually as impressed with the cafe side of Somewhere. While it looks and smells great, the barista wasn't super friendly and the system for ordering was really odd. There would be people who had already ordered who were waiting for their drinks at the register since they hadn't paid, which caused confusion about where the line was and who had already ordered. I got the iced matcha latte with oat milk. It was good, but overpriced, especially considering what I was given was an unmixed cup with matcha at the bottom and oat milk on top. I had to vigorously stir it to get it mixed (see my pictures). I also tried a bit of the vegan Vietnamese coffee, which was quite small and actually pretty strong/not as sweet tasting as I'd expect for Vietnamese coffee. But, they did have sip lids and paper straws which I like.

Yelp
What's better than good coffee and good fashion! Somewhere is a one stop shop for quality pastries, a good latte and fashion. Similar to Maketto with fashion and coffee shop/food collab, but this is one floor and more open space. The cafes in the front and the clothing stores in the back of the store. The boutique includes local brands and high end brands from NY/overseas. The staff's helpful and neighborly when you have questions. If your a hype beast, a collector or just love quality fashion pieces and in the Navy Yard area stop in and check it out.

Michael O.

Yelp
Hip place for your street wear and fashion needs plus they have a great selection of coffee and tea!

Damian B.

Yelp
I'm from Nyc, I travel to dc for work or personal time. It's always a delight to see small boutique that has their own sense of style and offers something a bit different to the community. Love this place the barista made us felt welcome within the first 2 mins of talking to her. Overall cool spot reminds me of smaller boutiques in Soho, Ny.

Andrea W.

Yelp
Interesting spot, has a cafe with coffee and pastries as well as shoes and clothes. Grabbed a matcha latte from here with milk, had a ton of ice in it and was a bit sweet, matcha flavor wasn't very strong. For a cup that was $5.40, it was expensive and quality just wasn't there. Both indoor counter seating and outdoor tables available.

Jacqueline E.

Yelp
Wanted to write a review that wasn't just about the coffee. Somewhere was having an event at their Navy Yard location with a local DMV designer. My sister and I arrived to the store about 3+ hours before the event started but the staff was really nice about it and invited us to hang out until. We ended up buying coffee (really good!) doing some shopping and just enjoying the music and atmosphere of the shop. Once the event started the staff guided us to the front of the line and lined up everyone else in the order they came in. Really appreciated that! Somewhere has unique streetwear and are constantly updating their inventory with the latest drops, will definitely be back!

Katie B.

Yelp
Men's clothing store with a coffee shop in it, fun concept. The coffee was fantastic, highly recommend the lavender latte; but could have used a stronger lavender flavor

Austin G.

Yelp
Similar to Maketto on H Street N.E., Somewhere combines fashion with food. In the back of the intentionally bare store is high urban fashion for sale from shoes to t-shirts to jackets. In the front of the house is a cafe selling pastries and coffee. During the pandemic, you can order coffee/food through their website or the Joe Coffee App (which I recommend for its ease). My iced latte with hazelnut syrup was perfectly brewed and very tasty. Out front are a few tables for sitting.

Anna S.

Yelp
Great place with a fiendly and fun team on staff. I was completely blown away with the chocolate croissants. So amazing.

Cass A.

Yelp
Best coffee in Navy Yard and every worker/barista is SUCH a pleasure. So happy I found this place- it's my new go-to! + The blue matcha is so fun. Prices are lower than other coffee shops in the area. Great vibes and the clothes are dope too.

Dona P.

Yelp
So Philz was so packed that our gym friend was like wait there's a new spot !!! There's a high end boutique and coffee shop right around the corner ... all I can say is COME!!! It feels like it's a mini NYC getaway, high end clothes, delish coffee, & a warm inviting space to chill... welcome to Navy Yard !!

Adonay91 ..

Yelp
Ordered some doc marten x suicoke sandals and got the crocodile version instead. When I talked to a manager about the error the pair I ordered was sold out and I wasn't able to get the actual pair I wanted. Prob won't be ordering online again.

Hanh N.

Yelp
NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY I WAS JUST THERE ...Do not buy from here ...They don't do returns or exchanges for anything, they don't have it on the walls nor do the employees verbally say it, It's unacceptable. The owner came in and gave me attitude after the employee told me how sorry he was and that it was his fault he never mentioned it he also told me my argument was legit. Please save your money buy the product you want from the actual store or a place where it's customer friendly

Ricky P.

Yelp
The Service/Space: I really like the vibe of this place! It is a coffee shop in the front and streetwear store in the back. The decor is very minimal and clean with some seating. I can see it being a pretty quiet and laidback place to sit and do work. Seating is pretty exposed, I usually prefer to have corners to tuck away in. The barista was very friendly and I could tell he was spending a lot of time to make my coffee and I appreciate that. The Food/Price: I had a few pastries here which were pretty good, but I think they would of been better if they were heated. I'm not sure where the pastries come from but they had some unique flavors. I had the vegan Vietnamese iced coffee which used coconut condensed milk, which was really good and tasted the same as a traditional Vietnamese iced coffee. The price point was pretty high for everything though, the iced coffee was $6. I think that is the only reason why I didn't give this coffee shop a 5 star because I feel like the prices are pretty inflated for what it is. I would definitely use this place as a "treat yourself" coffee shop, rather than something I regularly visit.

Anita B.

Yelp
This place is soooo amazing. I could hang out here all day. I had the Matcha Lavender Latte with oat Milk and a Black/white cookie. These guys know what they are doing. Super friendly staff and concept is pretty fresh. New Fav Coffee shop concept! Also....the music here is the best!!! Not that spa crap :) Definitely picks me up!

Kenneth T.

Yelp
A great environment for fashion and coffee. The layout is very spacious and open. A great variety of clothes, Merch and the baristas are cool people!

Kalen N.

Yelp
Great cappuccino. Coffee beans from vigilante coffee, which is one of the better local coffee beans I've had. The pastries are from baked and wired and are fantastic. I had the pistachio croissant. They also sell high end clothes in the back.

Jeremy H.

Yelp
You gotta love a hypebeast coffee shop! Good coffee and great clothing - it's the best.

Michael H.

Yelp
This place is super necessary. I travel here from Baltimore to check out rare clothing brands, and to enjoy a latte of course. To say the least, Somewhere is an experience that will only evolve!

Emma P.

Yelp
I. Love. Somewhere. They carry local coffee from Vigilante coffee and local pastries that are always rotating. Their service is amazing and they have really become part of the community in SE. Although I'm not a target customer of the clothing they sell, I love that they try to make street wear accessible, and their store associates are eager to tell you about the brands they carry and why they carry them. Keep it up Somewhere!

Lois A.

Yelp
Somewhere is HERE!!! Great new spot in Navy Yards... Friendly , Good Coffee, Good Bites and a GREAT Vibe. Its the new home away from home
