Yummy delicious ice cream, worker is very polite and is patient with new customers that aren’t familiar with the flavors. You can even add toppings like cocoa pebbles or the TAIYAKI🐟 with choice of ur filling.

Soft-serve ice cream with the option of Taiyaki (fish-shaped ice-cream cones). Choice of about 1/2 dozen flavors along with various fillings for the Taiyaki. Order via iPad, about 5 minutes waiting, expect about $7 per serving, card only. Standing room only inside. It’s good for an informal date or a quick snack. Wish there was more room to sit and enjoy.

Can't go wrong with getting either a lone filled taiyaki or having one with your ice cream! They had our order ready in less than a minute after placing it. Super clean store, staff was so friendly and I would love to come back!

Came here for the first time while visiting Daiso nearby and found a new favorite desert spot for a special treat! Amazingly smooth delicious soft serve with these super fresh fish shaped waffles added which you can add fillings to. The waffle is soft and crispy, the soft serve is incredibly smooth, creamy, and flavorful, so together they are amazing as they sound. We got the dulce de leche and cookies and cream twist and a custard and Nutella filled waffle. The Nutella filling was a touch too sweet for me with the ice cream so I will either get no filling or custard in the future as my husband said custard was better. Highly recommend checking this place out if you haven’t since they are also incredibly fast. Even though they were really busy, from ordering to getting our order, it was only maybe five minutes, if that, so we didn’t even realize they were calling out our name. Such a nice place with great service - will be back soon!

Stopped here to try their upside down ahboong and it was great! I had the cookies n cream with the Nutella filling and enjoyed it. My son really enjoyed it as well. He liked the fish shaped waffle. Service was fast.

I have been recommended this place by many of my friends and I finally tried. I got the Ube soft serve on the Taiyaki (waffle like fish) with nutella filling inside Taiyaki. Topped with coconut flakes. It was amazing. Me and my friends immediately decided we would visit again. The place was super busy but still we were able to order our icecream and pickup pretty fast.

Ube ice cream tastes like real ube instead of taro or purple potato! Matcha ice cream is very tasty too. No skimping on the matcha powder. . High quality ingredients for the price. our 1st time here & we’ll def be back.

3/22/25: The kids and I love their fresh made hot taiyaki here. The taiyaki has a crisp outer texture and a chewy texture.

Stopped in yesterday, easy to order with the screen they have. I ordered the coffee with soft serve and it was delicious! I am tempted to stop back in soon just for that. I did not order anything else this trip but the smell was amazing, and I def want to stop back in.

Such a cute place. The service was quick, the ice cream was smooth and tasty! I got cookies and cream with an Oreo topping and it was great. And the fish cone made it so much better. I can't wait to visit again.

This business was featured in the Frisco travel book. I rarely eat ice cream. Had spouse drive over here after eating and In -n-out and shopping. The fish waffle comes with your soft serve combo. You pick soft serve flavor, I chose matcha Ube, you choose a flavor for fish waffle cone, I chose custard, then toppings. I chose cotton candy( think it was nerds) and Graham Cracker. I took a photo before eating and kept the cool spoon. This is Korean ice cream. Yummy! Spouse even liked the custard fish and ice cream. Definitely stop in if you get a chance! Review 14 in 2025.

I love this place. Perfect spot for a quick dessert. Favorite is the ube ice cream with upside down taiyaki with red bean filling. Price is reasonable and employees are quick and efficient.

Went on a Sunday afternoon afternoon fortunately no lines. Loved the ube flavored ice cream in a cup and topped with toasted coconut crunch bits. Price is fair for the amount of ice cream you get! Standing only but not really a space issue. Most people are in and out very quickly. If I had more room, would have gotten the Taiyaki on top. My friend loved this flavor as well.

Surprisingly good value!! My wife and I ordered on the kiosk/tablets and got the upside down ahboong and it came out super fast! I got the banana milk and coffee swirl and my wife got the matcha. The flavor on both was on point! I love banana milk and the coffee flavor ended up balancing trout the swirl perfectly. Matcha had a rich flavor and wasn't bitter. There was no seating but it wasn't a problem for us personally. The quality for the price was really good and I'd definitely come back!

I crushed this dessert place ordering matcha cookies and cream soft serve and filling my cone with Nutella and dusted with Oreo. Not to be dramatic but it changed my life is was sooo good. The service was super quick and you order on an ipad which made the process go so much faster.

Red Bean & Custard Taiyaki Love somisomi!!! Super creamy soft serve, and I adore their taiyaki! So fluffy and chewy and wonderful and the filling is not too sweet!

My family loves SomiSomi, it is a nice spot to grab a dessert with the family. The interior isn't large so you'll have to eat outside because there isn't any actual seating inside, but it is so worth it. The interior is always super clean and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The ice cream comes in unique flavors such as Ube and Matcha and there is also vanilla for the less adventurous. The fish shaped waffles pair well with the ice cream. You can get the ice cream with or without the fish shaped cone. Orders can be placed at the self service kiosk as they can get extremely busy especially on weekends. We have had positive experiences each time we visited and will definitely recommend them!

Fast service and easy to order on kiosk! You order first then it gets made right in front of you. At the end they ask which toppings you would like on it and you can pick multiple toppings. I got the matcha custard and the matcha icecream and my hubby got the banana & coffee icecream swirl with matcha custard. The custard on the inside was just okay to me not very special or amazing so next time I think I'll stick with Nutella or red bean. The icecream was very good and on point to all the flavors. I really enjoyed the fish bread on top it tastes like a really good waffle crispy and sweet.

Ice cream is buttery soft and flavorful! I got the banana milk in a cup - so good! It's very loud inside and children running around everywhere which was unpleasant.

It imitates the shape of tai (鯛, red sea bream), which it is named after. The most common filling is red bean paste. Other common fillings may be custard, chocolate, Nutella, cheese, or sweet potato. I got two Nutella, two custard, and one Hotteok filled. Hotteok is Hotteok, a popular Korean sweet pancake, is typically filled with a gooey mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped peanuts. I also grabbed a Cold Brew and a Strawberry Milk. Cool, fun little treats!!!

Somisomi is the good dessert place. Never disappointed me with their quality. However, for this location, they don't have seating. You will kind of just ordering for Togo. The inside is not well kept, quite messy with trash on the floor when I m visiting.

This place is the best! A friend and I stopped by after working at a nearby boba shop for a small, mid-day snack. It wasn't very busy, and it was super clean. They have screens that allow you to order and pay on your own, which gives you time to look at the menu! We got the waffle fish filled with cheese (though they have other options, including sweet fillings like nutella). It was a sweet and salty lover's dream! The employees were very nice too, and it came out fast. I had previously only been here in CA, and I was surprised to see they were in TX! I will definitely be back, and will get this again as opposed to the soft serve ice cream.

In town for vacation and was craving something sweet so we ended up stopping at this place and definitely don't regret. I ended up ordering the upside down with matcha ice cream and red bean in the taiyaki and a sprinkle of coconut flakes. So delicious. Service is pretty quick. You order from the kiosk and within a few minutes they work on your order.

Regular at this place, I love the taiyaki! I think it's the best I've had in the area. You can get 5 taiyaki for ~$10 which is a lot of taiyaki and it's so good! They make it fresh and the dough is crunchy on the outside, but chewy and piping hot on the inside. It is so good! I usually get the custard and red bean filling. Both are good, but the red bean is a little on the sweet side. Perfect for me since I love sweets! The service is top notch. They make it fresh in front of you, and the guy who made mine was very attentive to the fish and shape. Everything is fast and fresh, what is there not to love? The only warning is that it can get busy, but otherwise it is so worth it!

Love this place! I always get the upside ahboong. The service is fast and friendly. My go-to is the taiyaki with red bean paste and custard. The outside of the taiyaki has a waffle-like crunch, while the inside has the softness of a mochi donut, making it super satisfying to eat. Paired with any of their ice cream flavors, it's perfect!

This was my first time at Somisomi and their desserts are so cute! We got the upside down ahboong with matcha and milk soft serve and custard taiyaki. Honestly, the matcha and milk soft serve was just ok (it was kind of watery and flavorless), and we enjoyed the taiyaki a lot more. If I come back I would just get the taiyaki. We also tried the taro and mint Oreo taiyakis, and I still thought the custard one was the best. The taro had a really artificial flavor to it and I think the mint Oreo was just a little too strong of a flavor for me, but if you like mint Oreo then you'll love this flavor.

Fair warning this place is BUUUUSSSYYYY!!!! You walk in and order on 1 of 2 kiosks, the line is usually outside the door with people trying to place orders. I had the upside down ah-boong which is a fish shaped waffle cone on top of soft served ice cream in a cup. The swirl flavors vary by location but I had mango and pink guava. I was pleasantly surprised how the mango was not overpowering with its flavor. Everything was delicately sweet. I did add vanilla custard to the inside of the fish cone and sprinkled graham crackers on the ice cream. Perfect size for one person but can be shared. You can fill your fish with Nutella, custard or red bean and you can even get the fish stuff with a flavor and eat without ice cream included. Reasonable prices and highly recommend. FYI it is too small and too busy to try and eat inside but there are benches on the outside to sit and enjoy.

Quick come and grab machine ice cream place with available online ordering while you enter the place. Good service with a pleasant smiles. In and out and 10 minutes even though there was a line. Very clean inside with customers wondering waiting for their name called for a pickup. Noticed only two types of ice cream available from the selection. The advertised "fish" is a waffle based (not crunchy) and is pretty filling.

My wife and I visit SomiSomi almost every week these days - mostly for the taiyaki and once in awhile for the soft-serve ice-cream when she sees a flavor she likes. This SomiSomi location in Frisco is much smaller than the Carrollton one; there is no place to sit, but the tall tables provide an option for customers to eat on the spot. As for service, the SomiSomi staff are always friendly and super helpful, and patient in explaining when there is a new flavor too. Since we both prefer something that is less sweet, my wife would always request her taiyaki to have less fillings. There is one particular young lady in the weekday afternoon shift who always makes perfect-shaped taiyaki. It can be hit and miss depending on who makes them thou.; the attached picture is a not so good looking batch (they all taste good, but if you are ever giving them as gifts, let the cashier know ahead of time). LOL

Hip music playing, self ordering or if it's your first time you might want to ask for help, I know we did. We ordered the matcha swirl, chocolate strawberry, and custard and Nutella filled. The taste was so good and the fish was crispy cake.

Went here for an afternoon snack and it didn't disappoint. The place was quiet & clean on a Sunday afternoon. Easy to order at the kiosk with options such as less or more ice cream, and then the item is made to order. Today, I got the upside down with matcha soft serve & vanilla custard filling in the taiyaki, my friend got the milk soft serve with matcha filling, both were really good for something basic. The matcha has really decent flavor whereas the vanilla custard was just that, plain vanilla, it wasn't too sweet though so that was nice. I love the fish shaped waffle, it had a nice crunch on the edges to balance out the smooth texture of the soft serve. Customer service was fair- only interaction was what toppings I wanted. It's a decent serving size for the cost of it too so overall, I would come back! Also note, there's no seating in here so you'll have to go through the back door that connects to the neighboring restaurant and borrow one of their tables.

I am in love with this place! So glad they opened here! The soft serve here is nothing like your typical chocolate and vanilla, and no waffle cones here. This location has 6 flavors, you can get an individual flavor, or try one of their weekly swirls! The flavors are black sesame, ube, milk, milk tea, matcha, & Oreo. My favorite flavors are ube, black sesame, & milk! Ube is a must try, and swirled with black sesame is the best! Also the milk and black sesame swirl is killer! I love that the swirls update weekly, so you can always try something new! The taiyaki is the game changer here! There are 3 ways you can order your soft serve. In a cup, in a cup with a taiyaki fish on top (ah-boong upside down), or in the taiyaki fish served like a cone (ah-boong right side up). Taiyaki taste similar to a pancake, and it is poured in a fish shaped mold, with an opening at the mouth for filling and soft serve. Getting the soft serve without taiyaki, is just empty, cause they compliment each other so well. The taiyaki gets lined with a filling before the soft serve goes in, my favorite is taro, 2nd best is custard. I found the Nutella to be over powering and didn't go with the other flavors very well. Ordering is super simple, you pick your cup or cone style, pick a filling for your taiyaki, then pick your soft serve flavor. Once you get served, so can pick toppings like macrons, strawberries or sprinkles. The shop is pretty small, and when they get busy and can be hard to tell where the line starts, ends, and who is just waiting for their soft serve. But it is kept really nice and minimalist, and very clean. It's close by other shops, so you can walk around once you get your soft serve, or find a table outside. I got the strawberry Bingsoo and it was just absolutely amazing. This doesn't taste as sweet as it looks and I really like that. They don't play around with strawberries. There's a whole bunch of strawberries on top and then Bingsoo and then more strawberries on the bottom! The strawberries are so fresh and refreshing. A splash of condensed milk with mochi on top makes this a great dessert to hit the spot! Friendly service, clean and modern interior, and great music!

I love this dessert!!! I usually get an upside down filled with custard. I like how their ice cream flavor menuchange seasonally. The texture and mild level of sweetness is ice cream perfection. The fish waffle is always perfectly crisp on the outside and delicious. My kids really enjoy the taiyaki filled with Nutella. There isn't a lot of seating around this restaurant so be prepared to get it to go.

My friend and I tried the milk tea & matcha swirl and milk tea & ube swirl Ah-Boong. It's a fish-shaped waffle cone filled with your choice of filling and topped with soft serve. My taiyaki had Nutella filling and the soft serve had fruity pebbles toppings, which added a nice crunch. You could taste the flavor in each bite and it was just so yummy.

Soft Serve Ice Cream - Good! Taiyaki - oh, so good! Smash them together and you're in SomiSomi! Get them separate, get them together and it's always a treat! This location is narrow and patrons crowd around the front. It's usually busy on the weekends, but the staff moves efficiently and quickly. The longest I've ever had to wait for my order was between 5-8 minutes. Fillings for Taiyaki are delicious, however on few occasions I had experienced where there was more cake than filling. But still a yummy treat.

OMG, I am hooked! Their ice-cream is sooo creamy and smooth. On our recent visit in TX, we went for SomiSomi twice in one day! We got the Matcha cone and Ube in a cup after lunch in Carrollton location. Then after dinner, we went to Frisco location and tried the Pink Guava and Cookie n Cream flavor. All 4 different flavors were so good. I am always a fan on Matcha & Ube, but the Pink Guava flavor is definitely winning my heart as well.

SomiSomi is a must visit if you haven't been before! I love ordering the ice cream in the fish cakes. You order from the kiosk and there's different flavors and toppings to choose from! I recently got my fiance into the "fish" desserts (Korean fish shaped sweet snacks!), and he loves the ones filled with red bean. I bought a 5 pack to bring home so the family could try different flavors including the taro, custard and nutella filled. I love the soft serve options too, but since it was a 100+ degree day and I had a long drive ahead of me, I opted for the filled fishies. They were so warm and chewy, I loved how they were made and how they tasted! My favorite was the sweet red bean because I'm a traditionalist and it brings me nostalgia. Will come here again and again!

First time trying SomiSomi and I loved everything about the experience. It was so easy to order what I wanted and they had a couple different flavors to choose from as well as toppings. The shop itself was a little small so it is difficult to stay in and eat but there are a couple of tables outside for you to enjoy your treat which was nice! The staff was so friendly and very efficient as well, we got our treats very quickly which I was pleased with!

My favorite ice cream. Every time I go i get ube with the custard filling taiyaki. Have not met anyone yet who disliked this place.

I love their tayaki's. I apologize for not taking pictures of them so you know what they are but they're just puff pasteries that come in a shape of a fish filled with a wide variety of fillings. I only like mine stuffed with the red beans fillings so yeah. That's the Korean version of boonguhbbangs right there. They always make them fresh when ordered so you can actually see the whole process of making them. I'm sure every SomiSomi place does too but I'd thought I'd mention. The place was also spotless of trash and dust so that's always a plus in my books. I wouldn't mind coming again if I was in the neighborhood :)

Dang, I was craving a treat after getting a new job, and Somi Somi hit the spot! I had been craving something oreo flavored, but I didn't want just regular bluebell! And here is where I ended up! The Tayaki was nice and warm and fresh, and the ice ccream was so creamy and delish! I'll have to come back and try another flavor soon, they said they change their swirls every week!

I've been meaning to try this place for a while seeing all the long lines to get in and I finally did. Let me tell you about my epic experience at Somi Somi! This place is like no other with its unique twist on ice cream. I tried the taro flavor, and it was out of this world, seriously, like nothing I've had before. But wait, it gets even better - the cone! It was this delightful, mouthwatering treat filled with custard, taking the whole ice cream game to a whole new level. And let me just say, the vibes were on point! The restaurant had this cute and cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The service was top-notch too - friendly and attentive, which just added to the overall awesomeness of the experience.

Honestly, I wished they opened on in DALLAS! I would definitely go a lot more. Since this is outside of Dallas it will only when we or I are in town. LOVE LOVE Somi Somi. The concept is so simple. UPSIDE is the way to go! Pick an icecream flavor, and then the fish itself and toppings afterwards! The texture is so good!!! I always seem to get the cookies and creme with red bean filling or nutella. I have tried the taro and it was also good. I have yet to try the custard. Of course red bean and taro are an acquired taste. Love that they have self order kiosk for customers if it gets too busy. Skip the line and straight to the kiosk! I also ordered the fish itself with filling. So yummy! OKAY so can you open in Dallas?

We were visiting the Dallas area and stopped here on the way to our Airbnb in Little Elm. We were looking for ice cream options in the area and this did not disappoint! I got the Matcha and Cookie Butter swirl with the cone on top and chose taro as the filling. We ordered 2 other ice creams and also the taiyaki and everything was good. The ice cream was so smooth and creamy, and the flavors were terrific. I had read other reviews about the ice cream flavors being too subtle but the matcha and cookie butter stood out strong in mine. The service was quick and easy (you order and pay at a kiosk). There wasn't really anywhere to sit and it was cold out that day so we just took it to the car. Now I'm just wishing we had one of these back home! Will definitely return if we're ever in the area again or anywhere with another Somisomi location.

Pretty solid, you order on a screen which is different compared to the last time I went to the carrollton location. Got the custard filled taiyaki in a 2 pack and it came out steaming hot and very yummy. They did seem to have an interesting organization inside the store though because some people had issues with the self service and it was pretty crowded. Overall a yummy experience.

I'm really sad that Somi Somi isn't in more states. I got this delicious soft serve ice cream in Frisco, Texas! It's soo cute, aesthetically pleasing. One day I will try the fish pastry with it but everytime I come here I have eaten before hand and this is my desert haha! I wish I lived closer so I could try all the rotating flavors. Ube is hands down my favorite!! My sis loves the milk tea one. It might not be milk tea but it's milk something haha! It's a little on the pricey side but who cares. It's beautiful adorable extremely photographic ice cream with unique flavors.

Traveled to Texas on business and always on the look out for new experiences. This place was pretty amazing! If you like ice cream and enjoy getting away from vanilla and chocolate you gotta try SomiSomi! I had Ube with Taro (exactly) which I truly enjoyed
