Stopped by to escape the rain while killing time for a dinner reservation. The wines and the beet cashew dip were perfectly what we were looking for! Lovely atmosphere and friendly service :)

Super chill wine bar with surprisingly amazing bites. We had the tuna crudo, potatoes, beet dip and asparagus (all at the recommendation of our phenomenal waitress), and they were all phenomenal. She also recommended such a great wine for us - she was fantastic in general… vibe, knowledge, descriptions… truly made the experience. Highly recommend! Oh, and she made things gluten free for me, too!

I attended an excellent wine tasting with food pairing event, selected by the wine director and owners of Somm Time. All of the food pairings were spot-on to balance and bring out the properties of the wines (one sparkling, one skin contact, and one red). Each course included a different type of cheese, one new to me--Buttermilk Basque--which I hope to find in a market. The skin-contact wine, Sanctum, Leptir Padrauje Slavenia 2021, may be the first orange wine I have actually enjoyed, and the Portuguese red wine was a revelation, tasting of red fruit and wild flowers. Stopped by Sommtime over the weekend for a couple of drinks. The service was meh! But they have an amazing selection of wines and though we didn't get any food as we had dinner reservations - the place smells heavenly with whatever Italian food is being cooked! Hope to be back soon.

Good wines, good bartenders, and very cute ambiance in this small wine bar in LES. I've already been a few times and each time there hasn't been a wait to get a seat either which is a huge win in my books. Haven't delved into the food menu but love the cooking space in the back so one of these days I hope to grab a bite!

Located on a corner within a stone's throw of a few other wine bars, Somm Time stands out for it's amazing service, simple yet delicious menu, and amazing wine offerings. Pro-tips: sit at the bar, order the pasta special, and talk to your neighbors--I always make friends when I come here. The bar is cozy and fills up quickly on busy evenings, but everyone who comes here is friendly, and possibly works in wine, which means you'll get a little bit of education along with your nice pours. I can't remember every wine that I've tired here, but I've never had a bad glass. The folks behind the bar are happy to make recommendations and let you taste their offerings before committing to a glass. The food is also made we care and inventive--the first time I visited I had the tuna tacos and the pasta special, which always changes (which is why it's always worth it to order). The beet hummus is also excellent. Really glad I started coming here--it feels like your neighborhood spot even if you live in another borough, state, or country.

This was our first time really experiencing New York. Naturally we looked up best wine bars to visit while here. This place popped up on the list and we were in the area so we stopped in. Trav was the sommelier holding down the bar when we arrived. When Trav greeted us, he told us that he was going to let us try some wine that would blow our minds. This is the exact energy we needed and he sure did blow our minds.  We ordered the burrata because I make it a point to order burrata whenever it's on the menu. This one was fantastic. We also had the Cacio e pepe pizza because those are two of my favorite things. Once again, mind blown. It's a must try!  We tried a lot of different wines on this visit and all were delicious. Trav was especially impressive. He navigated several novice wine drinkers to a pleasurable experience as well as my wife, the wine enthusiast, to an unforgettable experience.  The memorable wine that took the night was "the best Beaujolais" she has ever had.  I recommend this place, especially when Trav is working. This guy is a treasure in himself and this place is lucky to have him. If you are in New York and are a new or experienced wine drinker, make sure you stop here.

Some time I drink wine that's just okay. At Somm Time, I drank fine wine. I had my eye on this place for happy hour after a Yelp search and checking out the other options on foot. For $8, you can get a nice glass of wine that's served by someone who knows wine. At the other spots, you can get a $7 house wine by someone who might just be skilled at opening a bottle. We snagged an outdoor table for two, which was a prime people and puppy watching spot. The server ran through a quick verbal description of the four French wines on special. It was apparent that he knew his wine. He also gave nice pours. I'm knocking off a star because we never received a food menu or were asked if we wanted the happy hour foods. The wines are also quite pricy off of happy hour. It was also very loud inside. Somm Time is a great happy hour pick.

We came on a Saturday evening and it was bustling! They have a great selection of interesting wines from different places! I got to try orange wine for the first. It was definitely not what I expected. The great thing about this place is they give you a small tasting before you commit to the glass! We shared the beet dip with homemade crackers. The crackers were really good, but the beet dip was interesting. I thought I would like it more the more I ate, but I couldn't acquire the taste for it. I would come back for the wine and will probably try something else besides the beet dip!

We stumbled across this bar after visiting a different bar across the street. I can't say enough great things about this place! The food, the wine and the staff were all amazing. The food was incredible! We got the pasta of the day, the roasted beet dip and a brisket. I really can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. Maria, who is one of the owners, helped us for most of the night and she was so patient and helpful for our small but rowdy table. She makes great suggestions on what to order and I really enjoyed every wine we got. We will definitely be going back to this spot and trying more wine and food! If we all lived closer, this would most likely be our regular neighborhood spot! But truly can't recommend it enough and can't wait to go back for more!

The nicest natural wine bar people around. Their HH natural wine selection is up there. There are maybe 5 tables 2-3 seaters and a lot of chairs at the bar. They also have a sidewalk shack outside. I haven't ordered a bottle from them yet. One of these days!

Love this place! They have the best service and friendly servers. Candle lit and good tunes. Love the cacio Pepe pizza. Perfect for romantic date or meet up with a friend.

Randomly walked in early Thursday evening to dimly lit and intimate wine bar. The place was still a little empty and so I sat right at the bar. There was a very knowledgeable bartender working. I ordered a glass of Riesling, but they were all out and so she recommended me a similar tasting wine. I loved the wine she chose for me. I also ordered the fries, which was also really good. It came with a lemony dipping sauce that was really addictive. I believe I saw a sign for happy hour, but didn't really pay much attention to those wine selection. I highly recommend if you're looking for nice romantic wine bar.

Went to this place after work for a quick happy hour after being pretty interested in the HH menu. I never have super high expectations for these places, but Somm Time exceeded mine! We ordered a glass of the red and white (both bottles pictured), one taco ($2.50 per taco on Tuesdays!), and the fries. My life motto is "fries before guys" and the fries were soooooo good. They were generously sprinkled with parmesan and chives and there was aioli for dipping sauce - I couldn't ask for more! Would highly recommend for HH!

This is definitely my favorite wine bar in the area. It is located in a great area with a lot of other restaurants and bars nearby. The staff are all really friendly and helpful with recommendations. They always seem to have eclectic wine that is hard to fine elsewhere. Specifically, I haVe been able to try a few types of orange wine as well as a red that is served cold. While some of the wines are pricey, they are definitely worth it. I look forward to continuing to come here.

Amazing service by "Cip" Ciprian. We stumbled by here for a HH and immediately, the ambiance, food and drinks were on point. Despite the hectic crowd, we received excellent service. Ordered the HH oysters from Maine $1/ea, rose ($5) and the fries. So yummy. Would def come back again! Highly recommended.

Spending time here was a marvellous experience! I appreciated their wine selection, food and decor. Chris's wine expertise was very useful. He was knowledgeable without being snobbish, and he was a ton of fun. It was an interesting and calming place to have a few glasses of wine. I will make sure to stop in again. Also, their Burrata with Asparagus, Spring Peas, Herbs was AMAZING!

This is another wine bar on 2nd Ave, right in the midst of some really nice restaurants and bars which makes it a great place to stop for a quick glass or even dinner, as they have a nice selection of food to go with their decent wine list. They have a really nice happy hour with $7 glasses that are really nice and dry selections. Service was pretty decent and we also liked the venue. Definitely a place worth visiting!

I was trying to go to The Smith across the street, but the waiting time for Sunday brunch was 40 mins so we decided to try the small place across the street called Somm Time. I could not be happier with how things turned out. The place is small, with trendy decor and a bright ambiance. Nice music in the background and bright colors on the walls. We were immediately catered to and offered a free brunch cocktail so we got mimosas of course, which were served quickly & were delicious. For brunch, I ordered the grilled cheese. I don't want to be dramatic but this was literally the greatest grilled cheese on the planet. At first glance on the menu it doesn't seem that impressive--cheese with pimientos and smoked ham, nothing crazy. But it is absolutely incredible, and it is served with a hefty side of Parmesan topped shoestring fries...oh my godddddd. My boyfriend got the scrambled egg flatbread which could have easily fed an entire family. It must have been 6 or 7 eggs, caramelized onions onions and and delicious flatbread. Both entrees were $16, which is a great price in itself but considering it came with a free cocktail and the food was impeccable, this deal is surely one of the best. I've brunched in a lot of places, but this one definitely tops the list. Give this one a try and you will NOT be disappointed!!

I bless the day my partner and I found this wine bar .I never had an affinity for wine bars before coming across this one. It's all about the education and the people, Maria is a magician. You can tell her your tastes and she will pick a perfect glass, bottle or flight for you. My partner and I have completely opposite tastes and she is able to find items we both love. She also has curated flights we both enjoy which blows my mind. I think the continual education and exploration to seek out new wines for their wine bar is part of why they are excellent. We gladly schlep across the city to drink with them! The while while staff is lovely and they have also chosen and recommended some great wines. I love Some Time because I like to walk in have Maria make suggestions and 0 thought on my end put into it. I cannot recommend them highly enough and look forward to setting up some classes with them soon.

If you find yourself around Midtown East from 5-7 pop into Somm Time sometime for their happy hour deals ;). HH list includes the attractive options of $1 oysters, $5 beers and $7 wine. Come earlier rather than later for a chance at getting a seat without waiting because this place gets poppin'. This place would get a 5 star rating from me if they allowed our party to get more than a dozen oysters at a time. We were famished and wanted to devour a dozen oysters each but for whatever reason the rule was a dozen oysters a table, at a time. Puzzling. Oysters are quite sizable and fresh, especially for $1 a pop. Garlic fries are crispy, hot, and delicious and very worth the $6 HH price. Flatbread was somewhat forgettable. Ambiance is good and not too loud - great place for a date or a small get-together with friends.

Intimate wine bar with a beautiful hand built bar that is perfect for a cozy date night spot. The owner is sometimes behind the bar and she has a really extensive knowledge of the wines and makes an effort to get bottles to which you have likely never been previously exposed. They have a happy hour which I believes go to 7pm. We tried all the sparkling wines and champagne and have already been back. I highly recommend you checking out this wine bar!

This is not your average Wine bar. Stumbled upon this by accident on a Friday afternoon for happy hour. Nice vibe with great music! The food was good! Very nice place! The decor is so original and super cute! I highly recommend for a happy hour just get there early as the bar fills up pretty quickly.

Wonderful new wine bar with an incredibly attentive and friendly owner who cares about their business and patrons. Walked in New Year's Eve for some early appetizers and a drink; the wine bar was decorated fabulously and festively with balloons throughout. One of the owners was working the bar and enthusiastic to answer questions and give recommendations. Drinks. I had the new old fashioned off their specialty drink menu and it was very good- perfect when she accommodated my request to sweeten it a bit. My friend had the rum punch and enjoyed that. Food. Very good. - $1 oysters. Good but not my favorite, a little fishy - Burrata. Loved the burrata though I personally did not like the flavor of the accompanying squash, green apples and herbs, possibly just my taste preferences. - Pimiento grilled cheese sandwich. Best grilled cheese sandwich I've had. Definitely recommend as a wine bar to go with friends or a date.

I almost never give five star reviews to a place on my first visit, but Somm Time truly is as good as it gets! I passed this place for the first time about a month or so ago while going to another wine bar in the area. The clever name caught my attention and it has been on my list of places to check out ever since. And wow, it did not disappoint at all. The sommeliers here are fantastic. The wine list is one of the best and most interesting I've seen in New York, and I love the fact that they have a very diverse, complex, and intriguing by the glass list as opposed to just having the typical crowd pleaser wines only. And don't even get me started on the amount of great bottles they have... The atmosphere is very cozy and nice and the staff was attentive and knowledgable. I will come back again and again to make my way through this amazing wine list!

My favorite wine bar in the LES, one of their somms Chris is super friendly and helpful and always picks a good wine for me! Wine list is always changing and they often have something new to try. The food is fine-dining elevated. Love the cauliflower. I try to come at least once a week!

I anticipated not being able to score a seat at the bar, but luckily people were on their way out, win! Wine and apps at the bar with my GF is always a good choice. She's been here before and suggested we go here for HH. Great HH wine prices and awesome cheese plate. What more could a gal ask for? 3 glasses, each. Fried cheese curds and a cheese plate $50 ea. Not bad

I don't make it over to the East Side often, so when it comes to wine bars and I'm over that way I have to make a stop at Somm Time. I love this place because the staff who work there are always so knowledgeable and can really talk about each of the wines on the menu. It's a cute date spot, also a great spot to go after work or with the girls for a few drinks. They have wines from all over the world as well as orange wines and some very rare wines you won't find in many Manhattan bars. They offer different themed happy hours every night, so if you want to go just to get a feel for the place first, head over 4-7pm Monday to Friday or 2-7pm on Saturday and Sunday. The service is really good here, just be friendly and the boys working there will take care of you

Half decent wine with some really good food and a wonderful intimate vibe!! Didn't eat much so can't comment a lot on the food but we got the burrata with green apple and butternut squash which was really good and the charcuterie plate which was good but a tad bit over priced. The house red wine was average and although they have a huge selection of wine, it was all too expensive for what we go for usually so maybe another time I will come here to try the more expensive wine which might be better than what I had today

Dear management: please teach your bartenders and staff about polite discretion. I like going to Somm Time for dates. There is nothing more embarrassing than when a bartender recognizes you and proceeds to guess out-loud what you plan to order in front of other people, prompting your date to wonder if you're an alcoholic or something. PLEASE BE DISCRETE, I'm on a date!

I had been to Pullman Kitchen a few times before Somm Time replaced the restaurant, but this was my first time at Somm Time. The decor is nice and they offer $7 glasses of wine for happy hour 4-7pm. They had a white, a rose and a red on happy hour. I tried the red and was pleased with my selection. They have a wide selection of wines of their regular menu. I do wish they had more food options, it seemed to either be bar snacks such as almonds, olives or French fries or larger dishes that were more expensive, but not a lot in between. The server was nice and attentive. I think the setting, service and wine selection is good. However, I would be more likely to return if they had a few additional happy hour wine options and a greater variety of food options. Overall, a nice place to stop by for a glass of wine at happy hour.

Their happy hour red wine was outstanding, as were their appetizers. Food was so good that we abandoned our dinner plans and ate here instead. Their cheese platter includes marvelous handmade thin slices of toasted bread. Their music tracks were also fantastic. Kudos to the staff for creating such a memorable menu and conducive atmosphere! I will definitely return here in the future...

This bar is outstanding! Exceptional service and the most exquisite wines. Try the orange wine - trust me. Plus the food pairings are to die for. Seriously. Get the personal pizza. And the potatoes. And the brisket. Omg get everything. Cannot wait to go back. This is a gem in the city and we're so glad they are open and have a beautiful outdoor seating area too

What a hidden gem, with a perfectly unassuming, intimate ambiance. My husband and I have tried every single wine bar within a 20-block radius, and Somm Time is the only place to which we return...again and again, for happy hours, date nights, day drinking with friends, special occasions, you name it! Chip and Chris are unsung heroes. They really know their stuff. Chip especially has a knack for predicting our every mood, ranging from obscure, funky natural wines to the greatest hits of the Old World. He also helped organize an orange and volcanic wine tasting for my birthday, and it was a huge hit across the board--for my wine snob and noob friends alike. The wine list is ever-changing, and miraculously both innovative and affordable. The beers and cocktails are solid too! My only caveat: skip the food.

My coworkers and I typically grab drinks after work and are always looking for good happy hour spots. There are other bars in the area with good drink specials, but the ambiance is always missing - loud music/tv blaring with super finance bros. This place has great wine specials during happy hour and has a delightful, quaint atmosphere. The waiters are also super friendly!

I've only ever been here for happy hour, but this is such a great spot for that! It's a really chill wine bar. There's tables, sofas and a bar inside as well as a few tables outside. I came around 5:30 on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all. We got a couple of seats at the bar right away. The happy hour is really great. There's $1 oysters, $7 select wines and $5 select beers. My friend and I got oysters, $7 bubbly and a $5 beer. The oysters were really great quality. They are such a great deal for only a dollar. There were other food items on the happy hour menu as well, so I definitely want to go back and try some other stuff sometime. Basically this is a great happy hour spot. It's chill, cheap and has good food and drinks. Definitely stop in if you're in the area.

Simple and to the point, we had a great experience in half an hour. We went to another bar in the area and ordered Tapas and wine and chief wasn't on the floor. Came here starving and told the Barthender. He said not worries. We ordered a burrata, pizza and two glasses of wine which came out really fast. Thank you for make us happy! One of the best brunches I've had in NY City. I stumbled upon this little gem a few nights ago. Small little wine bar open late with great vibes. Today on this beautiful Saturday morning I walked past it and saw a brunch sign out and I walked in. Amazing food and amazing service. I'm pretty sure I'll be there again today for their great Happy Hour Special.

This is simply an amazing wine bar: the wine list is outstanding, with lots of names and some little gems that I love discovering. Most importantly, everyone who works there really knows what they are talking about. I found out they are all sommeliers! Somehow, they always know what I will like...its like going to a wine psychic. Plus, it is so warm and welcoming. I recently showed up there late (around midnight) with three people and the sommelier who was there was so lovely and welcoming. And she recommended a couple of delicious bottles that were...well...memorable. I love being in the area so I can go in for a glass or a bottle! Go...it's the best wine bar in the area...actually in New York City.

Great new wine bar with a fresh theme compared to the other wine bars in the area. They have a great HH menu with reasonable prices. The staff is very helpful and congenial. We were pleasantly surprised when we had a tasty, dry rose´ from a magnum bottle! The cheese plate was nicely presented. One of the bartenders has great music taste!
