"SOMO SoPhi is our go-to for an early dinner before a concert or game on Broad Street, or a late night drink after the fact. It’s a huge American spot that’s open until midnight every night, and has two separate levels of outdoor seating for when the weather isn’t miserable. It’s probably the most upscale place you’ll find in the area, so if you’re celebrating a birthday or just thought you’d be nice and take your niece and all of her 15-year-old friends to see Justin Bieber On Ice, it’s probably your best bet." - Sydney McElwee

"Last time you tried to get out of the Wells Fargo Center parking lot, it took so long that you witnessed about 20 people drive their SUVs over a curb and down a grass hill in front of a cop car just to get out. You would have joined in, but you’re pretty sure your 1999 sedan would have screamed “HELL no” and died right there on the spot. Instead of giving Deborah (your car, obviously) a panic attack, leave her be and head to SOMO SoPhi. It’s a huge American spot that’s open until midnight every night, and has two separate levels of outdoor seating for when the weather isn’t miserable." - Sydney Mcelwee

"Somo SoPhi is an upcoming bi-level, upscale sports bar with a ground-floor lounge and a cocktail bar and dining room with an open kitchen upstairs. It will also have outdoor seating on both a terrace and the sidewalk. It is located at 3101 S. 13th Street, South Philadelphia and is slated to open this spring. The restaurant is part of the Somo Hospitality Group, with James Morrissey teaming up with Philly native/Green Bay Packers All-Pro guard Jahri Evans and his wife, Takia Evans." - Rachel Vigoda

"Designer/restaurateur James Morrissey is opening a second location of Manayunk’s SOMO, and this one has Philly native/Green Bay Packers All-Pro guard Jahri Evans and his wife, Takia Evans, on board. SOMO SoPhi at 13th and Packer has a sports theme, but it’s not your typical sports bar. Look for a chic lounge on the first floor, complete with a living green wall made of moss, and a cocktail bar and dining room with an open kitchen on the second level. In warmer weather, there will be outdoor seating on a terrace and on the sidewalk." - Rachel Vigoda

We met friends from New Jersey for dinner. Our drinks were very good. I had the abeula tequila drink and the bartender subbed stevia for sugar...it was excellent. Apps were very good - mussels, burrata, hummus - the Brussels sprouts, albeit good overall, needed a few more minutes to soften. Dinners were hit or miss. One, yes one dessert, which we passed on. We'll give it one more try because they're new (opened in October), have a new chef, and are in a convenient location if we're at a sporting event. They do have potential. Ps serve teaspoons with espresso.

The Eggs Benedict came with rock hard pork roll and a rock hard English muffin. Fortunately I was so hungry after an hour and a half wait that I ate it. My friends took advantage of the $28 bottomless mimosa deal... except they could never find a waiter for refills and even after almost 3 hours still waiting for the check did not get $28 of mimosas.

We were here last night. We very rarely review a place, but the experience warranted it. It was awful. When we were seated, no one told us they were out of most of the food on their menu - specifically, there was no pasta and some other key items. My husband was looking forward to the lobster mac n cheese. They were also out of peach schnapps and berries for their signature drinks. We were already drinking our modified drinks, when we started to order our food and the waitress announced that she forgot to tell us about the food issues. It was late, we ordered anyway. Then we waited and waited and waited for a chicken sandwich and beet salad. Food finally arrived after a good 30 minutes (there were only a few other tables) and it was terrible. We live within walking distance but are never going back. Although, given they were out of so much of their staples, maybe they won't be there for long.

We have been to SOMO a few times since they opened and always love their unique cocktails, personable wait staff, gorgeous decor and of course their amazing food! My fiance has the NY strip every time and is always super impressed. The other night, we took a last minute reservation. We arrived to the restaurant with family and the kitchen was backed up. The manager kept us totally up-to-speed and even comped our drinks. My in-laws were so impressed by the food, they didn't care at all about the wait and already want to come back during their next visit. If you haven't visited this neighborhood gem yet, you are missing out!!

I must say that South Philly has acquired an awesome addition. I visited with my family for my grandfather’s birthday. The ambiance and design is amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. We even received a complimentary dish from the chef. The staff was attentive and friendly. I will DEFINITELY be returning. Might I add, the drinks were unique and very pleasant to the palate. I can’t wait to go back.

Don’t waste your time at this place. We had a birthday brunch here for my friend and I feel bad her birthday was spent in such a poor establishment. The service was horrible we waited about a half hour to even order food or drinks. We ordered bottomless mimosas which were 28 dollars a person. The mimosa was 90% orange juice. I haven’t had this much orange juice in my veins since I was a toddler. 2 people actually sent theirs back. My friends ordered a bottle of rose that retails for 13 dollars and they were charged 45. While we were there, multiple tables got up and left from the poor service. The chicken and waffles was straight dough in the middle (it’s still working it’s way down my throat.) I would never go back to this place ever.

First time here and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Steak was a great price, flavorful, tender, and the perfect temp. Tuna poke and octopus were great, a little spicey for my wife but perfect for me. Bar seemed a bit pricey

Don’t bother going. There are too many places in the city that are so much better. They need to get a new cook or they will be out of business within the year. We arrived at 4:45 and didn’t get our food until 6:20. There were only two of us and we only got one entree. The other did not arrive until 15 minutes later. Several large groups just got up and left. They had been waiting since 4:30. The kitchen is an open kitchen. Cook had a terrible attitude. The only good thing was our waiter, Jamal. He was great!
