"For a sit-down Neapolitan pizza, Song’E Napule in Greenwich Village always delivers. The pizza comes out of the oven consistently chewy and light, with nicely charred edges, and you can pretty much always get a table—even at peak downtown bar-and-restaurant hopping hours. photo credit: Will Hartman The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the street, and colored in the sky-blue that Naples is known for, down to the branded bottles of olive oil on every table. It’s also a little more of a party than the restaurant's Upper West Side location. Loud Neapolitan rap plays over the speakers, and between the signs with Italian quotes in “live laugh love” font, a messianic Diego Maradona looks out from a couple of murals. Order one pie per person at your table, and go light on toppings, even though they have a wide variety to choose from. The crust gets too soggy when burdened by the weight of too many vegetables or proteins. Plus you want to taste the little charred spots on the bottom, right along with the sweet, fresh tomato sauce and milky fior di latte. Food Rundown Napoletana You can’t go wrong ordering a margherita or marinara here. But for just a little bit of a pop, we love the Napoletana, which is a margherita with four thin slivers of anchovy and some Sicilian oregano. The extra salinity and savoriness go a long way. photo credit: Will Hartman Nerano Get this seasonal pizza if it’s on the menu. It’s studded with zucchini, mint, and basil, and showered with lemon zest for some really excellent sweet and bitter flavors at play. Drizzle it with a bit of their olive oil (which you can also buy). photo credit: Will Hartman" - Will Hartman
"“On those nights when I want ‘adult food’ and my kids want ‘kid food,’ this is the perfect spot. I love the baked branzino, and their margherita pizza is delicious. Everyone’s happy here, especially when we order the Nutella pizza for dessert. It’s even better than you think it would be.”" - brennan carley
"Song’ E Napule is a Neapolitan-style pizzeria that adds a Lower Manhattan option, with locations in Rutherford, New Jersey, and the Upper West Side." - Emma Orlow
"This destination for Neapolitan pizza and pasta has amazing desserts, including a tiramisu in a small jar that is layered with care and the same emphasis on select ingredients, in this case imported mascarpone, that define the beloved savory menu." - Andrew Cotto
"Run by Neapolitan expat Ciro Iovine, Song e Napule offers pies with imported Italian ingredients. Known for its margherita and the montanara, a deep-fried pizza finished with grated Parmigiano Reggiano. The restaurant has a strong Italian ambiance with Napoli football club memorabilia." - Zachary Feldman
