The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week, April 2022 | Eater NY

"I have been fundamentally changed by the fried carbonara ball—generously stuffed with pasta alla carbonara, fried to crunchy perfection, and drizzled with melty Parmigiano—and I could have eaten dozens; don’t skip the pizza at either of their NJ or Greenwich Village locations and order an extra to go (slice a leftover frittatina onto leftover pizza if you like—no rules, just vibes)." - Eater Staff

Second time here, just as good as the first time. First time we came we got pizza, this time we opted for pasta and it was delicious. Service is very friendly and food is great. It was our anniversary and our limoncello shots were on the house. The food is just as good as being back in Italy.

When I think of a place that has delicious authentic Italian food and good drinks the place I want to go to is Song E Napule. I have been her many many times with friends and family. The food never disappoints, the staff is friendly and attentive. Please make reservations because this place is always packed.

Yummmm, I’m not surprised that this place has a good reviews. Delicious food, cute dining room and full-bar. Can’t wait to go back and try their Pizza, I heard this is one of the best Pizza in town. Great job!!

Google
Great place! Wonderful Neapolitan pizza! Ordered Diavolo and Capriccio to go. Both pizzas were very good! They have a cool design and definitely are proud supporters of FC Napoli. The staff was nice and professional!

It's winter time and cold, one of the best times to crave a hot pizza. Here, during my first time, I ordered several items. The margherita was the real test. The wetness of the tomato and mozzarella with fluffy thin dough that is airy and aromatic. Chefs kiss, this is what I've tasted in Napoli pizzerias. Confirmed from the source, everyone needs to visit to try their authentic flavor. Buffalo Mozzerella. Ah, so good. For anyone that hasn't tried mozzarella made from Buffalo milk, you can trust this place to serve some. Richer and creamier, it's nice to munch on. Their bread and olive oil that is complimentary, perfect soak up action match made in heaven. Grilled Octopus special. Any octopus lover will be in for a treat. Served hot, crispy onions pair well with a tender octopus (great cooking yielded amazing texture) and sweet squash mashed to enhance flavor. A definite 👍 and 🤘. It's worth going back.

The workers are amazing and helpful. The food was on point and so flavorful. The pizza was amazing. We will be back!

Google
Really enjoyed eating at this restaurant. Rutherford closed down the street in front of the restaurant so we ate outside on a beautiful day which was very nice. The burrata was EXCELLENT! Probably the best I’ve had. The entrees were good. I had the pizza and thought it was okay, the undercarriage was completely floppy, which I’m not a fan of, so I had to use my fork and knife to eat it. The toppings were good and you can tell they use high quality ingredients. The pizza crust was great. The dessert was also excellent. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
We walked in without a reservation and were seated at the bar. I'd do it again in a heartbeat! The food was amazing. I got a gluten free pasta dish. My spouse got delicious pizza. The wine was suggested and perfect for our dishes. They import most of their ingredients from Italy. Go here!!!!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great service, great food. We go at least once a month, and it always hits the spot. What makes it even better are the wonderful people who work here. Simply the best!

Yelp
Outside seating and pizza, perfect. Just wish they were BYOB. If you're sitting outside, service will be impacted. It was pretty bad service as we waited until we were almost done with apps to receive our first drink. For apps: Caesar Salad, good, hard to mess up. Meatballs were fantastic. Gnocchi was amazing. Pizza: Went with a classic Margherita pie, very good. Charred where it should be. Great taste. The Tartufata was almost too much. I think without the truffle cream on top, it would've been better. It's a lot. We rarely leave any food behind and half of the pie went to the garbage. I would definitely return. Next time, I would sit inside and stick with more basic pies without too many extras.

Yelp
They are the place to go in the area for true Neapolitan pizza. I don't get to eat there as often as I like because, honestly, my wife and I cook at home a lot! BUT when we do go out, they are one of the places to hit. Great pizza, great pasta and the appetizers are phenomenal... especially like the insalata di polpo. All very authentic. Ciro and his staff are great and I've even taken their cooking classes to try and learn the secret of their process. As a first generation Italian, who spends a lot of time in Italy, I can honestly say that they are one of the best authentic Italian food spots in the tri-state area. Go whenever you can. Buon Appetito!

Yelp
Great pizza! The branzino was nice (the sides aren't my favorite) and I definitely enjoyed the calamari which wasn't overly fried or breaded - just right.

Yelp
This was a lovely restaurant. I have been dying to try spaghetti nerano -- Spaghetti from Pastificio Mancini sauteed in a zucchini puree with fresh mint and basil, parmigiano reggiano vacche rosse, provolone del Monaco IGP finished with grated lemon zest It was spot on delicious. With the little sprouts on it. So refreshing. There is nowhere around that makes this traditional dish. Very much enjoyed it. The atmosphere is nice. Bread with olive oil on the table. Odd had to keep asking for pepper but oh well.

Yelp
Love the decor and authenticity. Hands down best Margherita pizza. A great stop and looking forward to trying their NY location.

Yelp
Great food. The pizza is thin crust and very flavorful. The meatballs are also delicious. We've tried a couple of their salads and they were both fresh and delicious. No complaints in the food. You usually need a reservation as it is a cozy little restaurant. They just added some outdoor seating so that's a nice feature during the summer months. We've been here at least 5-6 times and the only downside is the staff doesn't make you feel very welcome. They are polite, just not super friendly. So we come for the food, not the ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
Very delicious Neapolitan style pizza. The service is a bit slow, but friendly. The tables are pretty tight. But if you just want some really tasty pizza, then you will leave happy.

Yelp
Let's talk about fresh food. My friend brought me here and wow! I was super hungry when I got here and I ordered pizza , chicken and a pasta. Everything was beyond any words I could put together. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures because I was starving. The pasta I had was spinach based and I couldn't get enough. I contemplated ordering another one for the road. The servers also were super accommodating and knowledgable due to the allergies in our group so I truly appreciated them asking. The location also is very clean and aesthetically pleasing inside.
google avatar

Disha S.

Yelp
Very elegantly decorated. Right on the Main Street with plenty of parking outside. As a vegetarian I ordered Burrata and their pomodorini salad. It is the same exact base with the dressing- would not recommend both. I wish the server would've told us. Pizza was good however breaks very easily and it was very difficult for all of us to eat especially my 2 year old. Their crushed tomato with crushed pepper spaghetti is delicious. Would highly recommend their espresso martini and tiramisu!!

Yelp
Food is delicious and service is great. The place is nicely decorated and ambient is great. This is a BYOB spot with great food options. I highly recommend this spot.

Yelp
Wow, one of the few places here in the US that I said to myself...this takes me back to Naples!!! Absolutely fantastically executed Neopolitan style pizza and some of the best ragu genovese I've had. Rivaling some of the best in Naples. Restaurant itself is bright, with good service and a relaxed vibe. Had no issue getting a table for 3 plus high chair around 5pm. The diavola was AMAZING. such a good cook. The quality of the ingredients likely imported hence the heftier price tag but I would say without a doubt it matches the quality and value. Pasta was nicely Al dente and the flavor of the genovese led me to recognize it was cooked well and slow. Highly recommended.

Marisa R.

Yelp
I just left the restaurant and I must say that I enjoyed every single bite. This is truly Neapolitan pizza and I can't wait to go back. Grazie! Viva Napoli!!!!

Yelp
Great ambiance and delicious Neapolitan pizza! Also a BYOB! Our server was super friendly. I will definitely go back!

Yelp
2nd time here. Took my parents out to eat. We started with fried calamari (of course) Pizza is a MUST when you come here We all enjoyed our entrees very much and ended the night with coffee and a Pistachio panna cotta. Next time i'm not sharing! Lol Great service as well

Yelp
Love this place! The gnochhi are like pillows of heaven. So soft, they melt in your mouth. The pollo Milanese is light and fresh and the chicken is extra crispy. We were able to sit in their front Service is delightful and there is Outdoor seating if you want to bring your dog, we did!

Yelp
Pizza and pasta are by far two of my favorite foods. Song E Napule delivers some of the best pizza and pasta dishes I've had the pleasure of eating. The pizza is cooked to perfection. Our table shared several pies and we couldn't stop talking about the crust and sauce! I also ordered the gnocchi sorrentina, which was rich in flavor. If you love pizza and pasta, Song E Napule is a must visit for you!

Yelp
The first thing you notice while walking in is the clean design and simple decor. I really enjoy the light mediterranean touches contrasting the plush velvet blue chairs. They are a little heavy handed with the branding on literally everything. However, I suppose when you are dining in a setting intended to whisk you away to Southern Italy and you are proud of your dishes, you want to aggressively remind the diner where they are and who is feeding them. The soft Neapolitan style pizza is its own unique dish. Don't come here expecting the average NY slice. I went on a pizza tour recently and learned about all of the different styles of pizza crust doughs. The NYC quick slice often sits heavy and you can eat about 2 and be done. The reason is that these are quick dough. The yeast hasn't been given the right amount of time to ferment and breakdown some of the sugars that make a quality pizza dough. I noticed the pizza at Song'E Napule does not give you a sore and stuffed stomach feel. The dough isn't overly labored and clearly has rested for an appropriate length of time. The soft texture is almost like a thin French tarte flambee. If you've ever tried Trader Joe's Tarte D'Alsace you'll understand this texture. The pies are smaller with a more sauce to cheese ratio, making the pies, dare I say, fork and knife worthy. Our waiter was very patient and answered all of our questions. They had a considerable amount of staff to handle the number of tables in the restaurant. They only set back was one of our cocktails was considerably delayed. It arrived just as the pizza was being served while the rest of us were half done with our first round. I won't deduct a star because our waiter was incredibly apologetic and continually checked on our table throughout the rest of the meal, which helped having felt slightly neglected with this initial delay and lack of follow up. It seems to be the staff communicated well for the rest of our meal and the dishes came out fairly quickly after ordering them. The dessert options were unique and the Ricotta e Pera was pillowy and fresh. I'm really glad we ordered this. The pear and hazelnut mixture was sweeter than I had expected. For some reason I kept thinking it had a pineapple like quality. Relying on natural fructose for sweetness adds a beautiful quality to this dessert. Pricing is about $20 for one pizza, so do intend on spending a considerable amount for North Jersey. The quality for an authentic Neapolitan pizza and the atmosphere is worth it.

Thomas R.

Yelp
This was excellent! Risotto with scallops. The risotto was perfect, great buttery flavor. Scallops grilled to perfection. Together they made a GREAT combination. Then the cheesecake with berry sauce was out of this world. Creamy, not too sweet, and the berry jam made it perfect. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
My husband and I went to this place after reading a lot of positive reviews, and it didn't disappoint. They have a variety of pizza options on the menu, and the pizza crust is definitely as Neapolitan as it can get. The place has a cute decor and our server was great as well. It's located in the Main Street, with plenty of street parking available even on a Friday night. The reason for the 4 star review is because we personally didn't enjoy the tiramisu that we ordered. The ratio of mascarpone vs the ladyfingers was off, and I've had better tiramisu in other places.

Yelp
Great authentic Napolitano Pizzeria and Restaurant! The octopus salad was very tender and balanced vinaigrette. The marinara pizza with anchovies was also delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant surprised me with how delicious the food was. I liked the atmosphere. It was very elegantly decorated and very modern. The service was decent. It did take a while for the waiter to come. Which definitely gave the feeling of being in Italy lol iykyk lol. The food was a bit pricey but quite delicious! I'd come back for a date for sure or birthday.

Yelp
My new favorite Neapolitan style pizza in the area. It's even better than the pizza than what I had in my recent visit to Naples. We have been 4 times already and have tried quite a few items. The texture of the pizza dough is perfectly soft and light with a nice chew. We have tried margarita, tartufata, montanara, and porcini pizzas. So far, the favorite is the tartufata, which we have had 3 times. The prosciutto is really good quality and it feels really decadent with the truffle cream. We have also had the fried calzone filled with cheeses and meat - loved the flavor of the meat and it was very cheesy - good to share as it is very filling. For primi/pasta, we have had the nerano, genovese, and stuffed carbonara gnocchi, the favorites being genovese and nerano, though a little small for the price. Apps - the meatballs are the softest I have ever had. They melt in your mouth, bathed in a tomato sauce reminiscent of my grandmothers. They use good quality DOP certified tomatoes from Italy. The calamari and burrata apps are also worth ordering. The octopus was tender, but I think I prefer a grilled octopus as it wasn't the favorite. For secondi, we have only tried the chicken milanese, which everyone loved. Would like to try the dry aged ribeye if it comes back on the menu! For dessert - my favorites include the delizia al limone and tiramisu (I'm not normally a tiramisu fan). The ricotta pear dessert and cheesecake cup are also very good. The creamy desserts are all really fluffy and light. The panna cotta itself we liked, but the toppings were a little much - too much sticky Nutella for me and would prefer a less sweet compote instead of jam for the raspberry one. Now that they have a liquor license, I have been ordering cocktails. So far, just the blue curacao spritz with rosemary and the 1926, also with blue curacao. Liked both, but preferred the spritz. There is a $25 corkage fee for BYOB now. The service is always great - they are starting to recognize us. I have been making reservations through opentable, especially for dinner, as it gets very busy. Lunch is less busy, so reservations may not be needed. It does get pretty warm if seated inside, probably because the pizza oven is visible through the open kitchen. There is also outdoor seating in good weather. For dinner they have some specials, typically stuffed gnocchi, prime rib, and different pizza flavors. There is a complimentary bread basket with olive oil and tap water is served room temperature in a bottle. We will continue to work our way through the menu!

Yelp
I came here with a large group for Friday night dinner. I called to make a reservation earlier that day so we were seated very quickly. The place is not very large so if you're coming with a group definitely call ahead of time. Rather than everyone ordering their own food we opted to go family style so we could try several different things. They serve some bread with olive oil to get you started. We got calamari, gnocchi, and an eggplant dish for appetizers. They were all good but I feel like the portions were a bit small for the price. We also got some pasta dishes. Also good but nothing crazy. I won't bore you with details of every single pizza we ordered, but they were all very good. It's difficult for me to pick a favorite. Their offerings are pretty extensive so odds are you'll find something that tickles your fancy. The crust of the pizza was cooked very well. It was airy with a slight char to it that worked well with the different flavors and textures of each pizza. I was very pleased by the pizza and calzone. Also, the place is BYOB if you were wondering. They only have street parking so that's hit or miss. I'd come back but I'd probably skip the appetizers/pasta to go straight for the pizza and calzones.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for lunch. Street metered parking or park further away if you don't have coins. Small little restaurant but inviting atmosphere. They start you off with bread and oil which was quite tasty. We got two pies to share- the bufalina and a white pie with prosciutto de parma (the waitress recommended it) and we loved both. Pies were about 20- 25 each. Big bottle of seltzer was $8. Food was great. Would recommend.

Yelp
Came with a group for dinner on a Friday. We had a reservation, so we were seated very quickly. The restaurant is pretty new, dim, kinda cramped, and very loud. We were given some menus and water, followed by a cute bread basket with their name (Song E Napule) on it, with some oil for dipping. We ended up ordering a few pizzas and a calzone to share. We got the buffalina, porcini, pizza burata, and margarita pizzas, along with a Calzone Song'E Napule. My favorite item was by far the calzone. The dough was light and airy, with a ton of cheese filling. The pizzas were all pretty good too. I didn't like that they were cut into quarters. I asked if we could get the next pizzas cut into 6 or 8 slices (there were 6 of us in the group), but the server said no, stating that "we should have asked before they were brought to our table" (how was I supposed to know that they only cut them into fourths?) For dessert, we opted for the nutella pizza, which was basically their pizza dough baked and drizzled with nutella. It was solid, but i think i would have liked it more if it was more like the light and airy dough from the calzone. We were there til closing, so the lights actually turned on. Wish they kept the brightness at that level.

Yelp
We went here on a quiet Tuesday night, with a reservation. Based on other reviews, it seems like we went on an 'off' night: - We were a party of 3 seated at a VERY small 'table'. The plates didn't fit at all and it was very squished. My elbows kept hitting my other guests. It was a pretty slow night and but they wouldn't sit us at an empty table with more space. No one took those spaces the entire time we were there. - We were told our waiter didn't understand English, towards the end of the night. This delayed our entrees/drinks/desserts since when we gave him the order, he wrote it down as if he understood, but then another waiter had to come back (usually ~10 min later) and ask when we were going to order...which we told him we already did and had to repeat our order. He told us our original waiter doesn't really understand English so that was why there were delays (but did not apologize for it). I would recommend someone following up on the waiter's tables to make sure the orders were put in if you know he is still learning the language. -The food was okay! It definitely was not on another level as the other reviews say, at least for us. We got the Margherita pizza which was fresh, but the bottom was charred. It wasn't the entire pizza, but it was enough to notice/change the taste. I did bring it up to the waiter but was told that this was normal...which I know it isn't. The anchovy pizza was good, but it was mainly just salty without the real anchovy taste. The desserts were very good, but it felt like they were rushing us to leave so after eating for just a few minutes, we got them to go. They also gave us one container for 2 desserts, even after asking for another one. I wish I had the great experience everyone else had, but for the price point, it was just a normal experience.

Yelp
Run, walk, drive whatever you need to do just get here!!!!! We had heard of this place and it being a truly authentic Italian pizza experience. Well it did not disappoint! You NEED a reservation as it is small and packed . Well worth the wait. The calamari was great (although too many actual tentacles for me) and the arugula salad was heavenly . The bread they give is amazing and the dipping oil is the good stuff! The pizza is one of the best I ever had in America , definitely reminds me of the real thing from back home! The broccoli rabe was cooked perfect . Service was good. It is pricey but worth it
google avatar

Yelp
Really solid and cute place. Service is pretty good here as well. The bread was meh, but the olive oil they have is so amazing. We could not stop eating the bread. I think my 1.5yr old had an entire loaf to herself. We ordered one of the mushroom truffle pie for appetizer and it was fantastic. The one slight negative is that they don't cut the pizza very well so the pizza falls apart when you try to break a piece off. I noticed other tables having the same struggles. Seems like an easy fix though for them to make. We ordered two pastas as our main entrees and they were just ok. I got the Paccheri Genovese, and while the pasta was great and well-cooked, the sauce was very dogfood-like and had a pungent taste. I wouldn't order again. My wife got Spaghetti Alla Nerano and similar feedback. The lemon taste in the sauce was overwhelming but the veggies were good. Drinks are on the pricier side. The cocktails are very good. Would come back to try the other pasta dishes. One big negative to the meal was that in the middle of the meal, one of the workers there was cleaning the vents above us and I couldn't help but think that all this dust was falling down on us and into our food. I don't know why they couldn't just have waited till after dinner was over. Lack of common sense in that moment. Other than that, looking forward to coming here again!

Yelp
I've always passed by this spot on Park Ave and noticed it was always crowded, so I finally stopped by on a Thursday night. We didn't have a reservation, but luckily we're seated promptly. I'd suggest making a reservation if you're coming at peak time! We started off with calamari. It was flavorful and a good way to kick off our meal. We got the Bufalini and the Prosciutto E Funghi and added truffle on top. They were both delicious!! So flavorful, and pretty filling considering they're personal pie sized. I'd love to try the other flavors when I can. The only thing I'll say is the price is a bit much, but with the quality of ingredients, I can't complain. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Best pizza in Bergen County prepared in an authentic Neapolitan fashion. There is also a varied menu of other Italian specialties. Good wine list a rarity in Rutherford.
google avatar

Tania V.

Yelp
The food was alright, but the service here was disappointing. Our server wasn't friendly, and there was a problem with their closing time. We had a reservation for 9 pm, but shortly before 10 pm they started dimming the lights abruptly, which made for an awkward situation. If they have a strict closing time, they should either avoid taking reservations for 9 pm or give a warning. It was embarrassing, especially since we were dining with another couple.
google avatar

Abby R.

Yelp
This restaurant came suggested for their pizza, and the pizza was just alright. The calamari was by far the best thing I got. The salad was good, but was swimming in balsamic glaze and oil and needed something to balance out the acidity. I sat at the bar and was nearly ignored for 10 minutes, with the bar tender not making eye contact the whole time (keep in mind I was maybe 1 of 15 people in the entire restaurant). I finally placed my order and the calamari and salad came out fast, and the complimentary bread came after. The inside is small and dark, but would be a fun place to meet with friends, however it's loud so be warned. Also, the meal came out to over $60 for the three items which seemed steep.

Yelp
Owner of all locations contacted me and was the most compassionate sweetest restaurant owner to ever respond so humbly and vowed to make this right with him personally. Even arranging to be at whatever location of our choice so he can join us! He went above and beyond and I felt his compassion and genuine heartfelt apologies and shared some of his personal life with me! He definitely related to us and I am honored he took this so seriously. Beyond humbled by his approach! Lovely owner I will move to 5 stars because the food was never ever the issue. Now this is how all restaurant owners should approach sensitive situations when gone wrong. Grazie mille Ciro!

Yelp
I've wanted to try this place for awhile because their pizzas look amazing. I didn't end up finding them to be amazing, but still very good. We had the Bufalina and the Burrata pizza. The pizza crust was delicious! It was nice and chewy. However, the center of the pizza was soggy. They undercook their pizza. You needed to eat the Burrata pizza with 2 hands because it kept falling apart when you picked it up. Since the pizza is soggy in the middle the Burrata weighed in down. You really needed to eat that pizza with a fork and a knife. We still enjoyed both of the pizzas. One thing disappointing is that they were out of most of their desserts. I ended up getting a cheesecake which was served in a cup. It was mediocre, and I wouldn't order it again. I recommend Song E Napule in Rutherford!

Yelp
We started out with aperol spritzes to start, which I thought was one of the best aperol spritzes I have had outside of Italy. The service was a little odd, our waiter didn't introduce themselves at first and stood there confusing us. Then we were greeted by a second waiter and yet helped by a third waiter throughout the meal. It was very bizarre, but the staff is also foreign so that could've contributed to the language barrier/confusion. The restaurant is Italian / Naples themed which was adorable and very nice to see. It's on the smaller side in there, so limited seating. We started with the paccheri Genovese, which I think was the best part of the meal. It was deliscious and I highly recommend. The meatballs were standard nothing special. The pizza was standard as well. The dessert menu could be better nothing really stood out, so we ordered the tiramisu which was underwhelming.

Yelp
Great restaurant and so glad it's local! The interior aesthetic of this place makes you feel like you're on an island - and the staff is super welcoming and helpful. Ordered a Cesar salad to split. It was a good portion and tasted wonderful. I ordered a pizza with prosciutto on it and my friend had the burrata pizza. I enjoyed it, but did think the center was a little soggy. I prefer my pizza to be a little more crispy, where when I lift it, it doesn't fall apart. This is a fork and knife kinda pizza. But not a huge issue. Aside from that, it was delicious. Huge portion. Had two big slices there and wrapped two to take home. Still great the next day. Plus- Place is BYOB! Will definitely be back for more.

Dasle K.

Yelp
TLDR; BYOB. Cute restaurant. Small portions. I really liked Song E Napule - the NJ outpost. There's a string of Italian places in Rutherford and they seem to all have solid food. We came here for Mother's Day and had several appetizers, pasta, pizza, etc. and almost everything was so good! I especially enjoyed watching the pizza oven as we were sitting right by it. The cacio e pepe was the only dish I was meh about - there was too much cheese. The squid ink vongole was solid, though. Meatballs were great along with all of the appetizers we ordered. The portions were definitely on the smaller side so plan accordingly.

Yelp
This is such a cute date spot -- the interior is inviting, well decorated, and cozy whether you come during the day or night time. While a lot of things are good here -- I would recommend opting for the pizza or pasta over other dishes. I've been here a few times both in the daytime and evening and would actually recommend coming here during the evening time when it is candlelit over the day time. Pizza is always perfectly cooked, delicious sauce, cheese, and topping over a floppy plush charred crust. We also opted for the burrata appetizer which was really delicious -- however I did wish the arugula it was accompanied with was more dressed. Found the octopus entree to be underwhelming -- and I love octopus. It was very similar to a stew but it wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping and the octopus was a little mushy and boiled. In the past, I was always such a sucker for the bread that was served prior to the meal but unfortunately this time was really hard and cold. Olive oil here is always really high quality and the service is really attentive and friendly. Now that I've tried most of the items I've been hoping to try off the menu -- will stick to some basics moving forward.

Yelp
Walking into a place that touts "Napule" in the name instead of "Naples" or "Napoli", I had the expectation of an authentic Napolitano restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. Upon entrance you see the pride in their city with memorabilia from the Napoli soccer team as well as Diego Maradona. The tables are smaller and very close together, giving me a Napoli meets NYC vibe. A friend and I split the Carpaccio as well as a pizza and pasta. The pizza style and taste remind me of the pizza I had in Southern Italy, so definitely authentic. Overall, everything was tasty so I'm happy I tried it!

Yelp
Our dinner was truly a great journey into some new Italian flavors. The service was great. And the ambiance was very trendy NYC. I'm from out of town and can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Got pizza for takeout dinner here. It's right downtown in Rutherford, which is 5 mins from our hotel. Pizzas are personal size and a bit pricey, but they were pretty tasty. I got the capricciosa, and I enjoyed it. Try it out!

Yelp
Located in the food-loving town of Rutherford, this place is a standout. Small to medium sized if the outside tables are open and simply decorated in the Italian kitchen theme. Street parking with a very friendly staff. NOTE: Song E Napule recently made history by becoming the 1st restaurant in Rutherford's history to obtain a full liquor license! The ingredients are superb, top notch! Even the pasta is house made or imported. Keep in mind this place is not cheap, even in today's high cost of everything. You might think that the prices are too high for a casual place like this. I can somewhat agree since some of the portions are not big at all, but again the flavors and ingredients are over the top great. IMO if you leave a restaurant for the 1st time and just had one of the best things you ever ate....that I'm still thinking of weeks later, then you have something special here. Maybe that's the reason there are 4 locations...... THE FOOD: OK, let me start here as I cannot wait to get back to have his again. Paccheri Genovese---Paccheri ( looks like huge rigatoni pasta) from Pastificio Mancini in a slow cooked veal and onion ragú and parmigiano reggiano vacche ross. Served as a Primi ( 1st course) it is small at $24 but the ragu gravy was sooooo good you could make a sandwich with it. Just a HR! We tried a Special Gnocchi (homemade potato dumplings) dish that had the biggest, fluffiest balls of stuffed with cheese but at 8 pieces for $30+, I recommend sticking with the Gnocci ( in red sauce & mozzarella) already on the menu. The Pomodorini Salad with Arugula, cherry tomatoes, shaved parmigiano reggiano and balsamic vinaigrette was a hit. Price was very fair as it was big enough for 3 of us to share. The Pizzas are small ( approx 12") and all in the $20 & up range. But they are from very good to excellent in taste and quality. Our favorite ( and one I wish I had right now was the Salsicce E Melanzane pizza- with Pomodorino del Piennolo, Fried eggplant, sausage, smocked mozzarella from Agerola, organic basil and evoo. And if you like Nutella or chocolate, you cannot leave with trying the Coccole which is a bowl filled with approx 20 of the lightest, pillow like zeppole ( fried dough balls) in a Nutella sauce sprinkled with powdered sugar. Have an espresso or coffee and go to town on this fantastic dessert. The menu has plenty for any true Foodie. Go with others and share, share, share! Cannto wait to go back!

Yelp
The food was delicious. Drinks and atmosphere also great. Service needs improvement . Main dishes served at different times, they didn't change utensils and kept trying to get waiters attention . I will definitely return and hope services is better.

Yelp
Love me a Neapolitan style pizza. Every pizza made fresh to order with the finest ingredients. I've done quick a few times and can't get over the taste. I feel like I'm right in Italy. The texture of the pizza is perfect, not too doughy but not too dry. The pizza pictured is the tartufata which is the truffle cream and truffle oil pizza topped with the freshest prosciutto you can find. Their fried calzones are my boyfriends favorite. The calzones are a very generous size. Enough to feed two. Now that they are the only restaurant in Rutherford with a liquor license, I'm looking forward to coming back and trying their new cocktail menu ! The service is also great here with the staff enthusiast over the pizzas. It does get very busy here so make sure to put in a reservation a head of time.

Yelp
This restaurant is on another level. From the moment that we sat down, we sensed that we were in for a memorable experience. The place is not large, it's not cheap, but it's clean, has a vibrant atmosphere, and you could sense that the customers are enjoying a happy time. I really enjoyed their service, the restaurant logo on their plates, and even had the restaurant logo on the pizza! What a nice touch and very much appreciated. On a recommendation, I tried an Italian, blood orange soda drink (Arrancia Rossa), and I really enjoyed it. Our octopus salad appetizer was amazing. The dressing was zesty and the octopus was the perfect firmness and texture. We received complimentary bread, with a small dish of olive oil. The bread was placed in a cool burlap sack with the restaurant logo embroidered on it! Another nice touch! Now, onto the main event..... the Buffalina Pizza......was one of the best that I've ever had. On the same level as NYC's renowned Keste pizza. You have to try it. We also placed a to-go order for the Paccheri Genovese (Scottish beef, extra virgin olive oil, & pasta) . Once again, they came through with flying colors. It was placed it in a Dolce & Gabbana bag, that is nice enough to frame! I'll leave it here and just tell you to go and experience this for yourself. We can't wait to return, with friends and family, so see their reaction. Just go.......

Yelp
Quite frankly it was disappointing. Went recently at lunch to a medium busy restaurant. We were seated immediately, wine opened, bread and menus- off to a good start. After about 15 minutes I saw the hostess remind Alejandra to check on our table. We ordered the burrata appetizer which was good. By the time we were finished with that the restaurant was completely empty except for 2 people at the bar. Another 15 minutes passed and I could see into the kitchen that no one was working on our order. Obviously some sort of a disconnect between the waitress and kitchen. Our pizza came out first, a good looking pie with a nice chewy crust. About 5 minutes laters the tuna salad came out. As my mom struggled to cut her pizza with a fork and knife ( it doesn't come cut) and I was in search of some of the good olive oil that came with the bread and maybe a lemon wedge for the completely undressed arugula and tuna,. Easy fixes to round out the meal but the server never came back. At this point we were the only 2 people in the restaurant.By this tome I was frustrated that I couldn't enjoy my $22 salad and pushed it aside, to be packed and dressed at home. Another 10 minutes or so until the hostess reminded her to check on our table. Overall the food was good but the service was lacking to say the least.. Very doubtful that I'll return.
