I’m writing to express ongoing frustration and disappointment with the consistent lack of quality and care at your Inwood Sonic Drive-In. For the third+ time, I ordered the same meal I always do: the #1 Smash Burger combo with NO onions or pickles due to allergies, a side of fries, and an Ocean Water. Yet again, the service and execution were unacceptable on multiple levels: • Upon arrival, no one responded at the call box, despite multiple attempts. I had to drive up to the window, which was wide open, to finally speak with someone and place my order. • I paid via phone tap, and no receipt was included in my bag. • Most concerning: onions and pickles were on the burger, despite my very clear request and medical need. • Even worse: there was a metal piece found in my French fries, presenting a serious health and safety hazard. • When I called to speak with a manager, the individual who answered was dismissive and argumentative, falsely claiming I never requested no onions or pickles and insisting he made the order himself and saw “nothing wrong” with the fries. This entire interaction was unacceptable, both from a customer service standpoint and a food safety one. I’m extremely disappointed that something as basic as honoring dietary restrictions and ensuring safe food continues to be mishandled. Though to end the conversation, he stated he would replace the order, which is an inconvenience as I am at work and placed this order heading into work. No, I am stuck without eating until lunch due to no food outlets in the area I am in. I don’t even want the replaced order any longer. Additionally, no Peppermint to be found in my bag. I’ve attached a photo for reference and ask that this matter be escalated to upper management immediately. I’d also like to be contacted to ensure this is properly addressed, not only for me but for the safety of other customers.

Believe the ratings. I blame management or the lack thereof. My order was marked completed and I had to ask someone for it after waiting 10 minutes. It was brought out cold and missing items. I requested to have my fries replaced and it seems as if they just dropped the ones I sent back in the grease. They are hard and barely edible. I like soft fries. I'll only be ordering drinks from now on.

When I tell you this was the absolute worst Sonic experience of my life!!!! PLEASE do not come here. Service was slow. Workers had a horrible attitude and acted as if you inconvenienced them by simply existing . The girl taking my order was rude. The older lady bringing the food out was dismissive. And then the food had the nerve to be cold. Would rate zero stars if i could . Also the card readers do not work at the stalls. My card was taken into the establishment and no receipt was provided.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I ordered the most simple order: a burger, fries, and a coke. I watched every single car (probably 30) in the drive-in area get their food and leave multiple times over. I also watched about 40 cars go through the drive through. During this time I checked on my order 3 separate times. Each time I was told it would be out soon. Finally after waiting ONE HOUR AND FIVE MINUTES…yes you read that correctly…I left. Insane. Avoid this location like the plague.

The staff is horrible and by far the worst I've encountered with at a Sonic. I had a mobile order for 2 drinks, 2 chicken wraps, a pretzel and a corn dog. Not that complicated. I will admit that it did get a bit busy and I understand that. I've worked in the food service before so I get it. So because of that I waited 15 minutes after my order was supposed to ready before I tried to get an update which took another 15 minutes to even hear from someone. When I finally did, I told the guy through the speaker that I had a mobile order and before I could even finish my sentence, he rudely interrupted me and said "there's a thousand orders on the screen, yours isn't the only one". Then I asked if I could get a refund and he asked "card or cash?" I said "mobile order" and he said " oh we cant do nothing bout that. " I asked for my order and he dropped the line. No " yes" or "no" just nothing. After another 5-10 minutes my order came out. Oh and the lids to my drink were broken. So yeah. This place sucks.

We went through the drive through and waited for 7 minutes no answer. We proceeded to one of the stalls and the person taking our order couldn't understand and was ordering the wrong items and then she cut us off when we weren't done ordering. We pushed the button and no answer so we left.

Unless this review is about the sonic on Ross avenue, the worst sonic I’ve consistently left with a disgusted feeling that I even bothered eating; otherwise all other Sonic’s are consistent usually across the brand having decent food, great shakes and a ever evolving menu and staff that always keeps me coming back, except the store mentioned above, I keep hoping it will be bulldozed and try again in a new location, it’s a shame too, I’m just not sure where to begin fixing what’s wrong there, it’s terrible every aspect of that store is filthy, and we haven’t even discussed some of the classic errors they’ve made with my order. Some of the things I’ve seen there I have left after a bite of my food and tossed the rest in the drive thru trash can, disgusting.

This is the slowest poorest service I’ve ever had at a Sonic. Wanted a nostalgic breakfast but everything was s l o w. Slow to answer after pressing the button. Slow to bring order. Slow to bring the condiment I asked for in the first place. The payment terminal didn’t work with card inserted, tap, or Apple Pay. The graphics on the screen were flipped sideways. Get it together!

Not sure when it happened but food is poorly put together. Definitely some under trained temps in that mf. Don't bother placing order online they will always forget something. One time they left a whole bag of sides off my $65 order. "Come back next time we'll make it again..." they said lol TRY WENDYS or Whataburger save you the trouble. Even the drinks here don't taste like other sonics.

Pretty mid Sonic. The service although average and inoffensive, has gotten much slower over the last few months. Several of the car bays have broken or non functioning screens and aren't clearly marked, so you might have a small surprise when you pull into an open one to find that it's not working. Otherwise, I don't really plan to come back. The wait for a drink seemed to be super long.

At about 10:35 11/16/24 went to the Sonic on Inwood and Cedar Springs ordered mozzarella sticks ,groovy fries , and strawberry cheesecake shake and I was served with regular fries no shake and the carhop woman stated groovy fries sauce came on the side and not on the fries she sounded like she had an accent and annoyed. I didn't even get a receipt and I stayed all I wanted was the small mozzarella sticks at this point she told me they costed 3.99 the menu states 3.69 price isn't the point it's the customer service at this place. I always have problems with my orders Everytime I come here mostly at night the Service is really terrible Close them down that this point

At 10:56AM I'm the only car in the drive thru. I place my order with a lady. I then drive up as THE ONLY CAR in the drive thru, and am asked if I needed something. I then state "I just placed an order". The employee then tells me that she doesn't have an order for the drive thru..... I just drove off.

I am in Dallas for a conference and lunch was on our own. I ordered in the app and when I got there the only stall number I could see on the poll kept giving me an error message. So I did the pick up inside option. I go towards the restaurant and there was no inside option a lady coming out said to push the button. I got my food and on the way back checked the bag, fries were cold, greasy, and chewy like they were old and there was no ketchup in the bag or on my burger when it was on the order. It literally was burger, fries, and ketchup. This was right around 12:30 and I got there in 5 minutes. Very disappointed in the service and quality.

horrible service at the sonic connected to Texas Roadhouse. we asked for our drinks multiple times after not getting them, we had them on our receipt and watched the cashiers write them down. they simply weren't going to make our drinks. please fix this issue. it is unnaceptable and ruined my night. After being thirsty and just wanting a refreshing drink from sonic, I was denied because someone didn't want to do their job. (i would LOVE for sonic management to contact me about this please.) I'm not the type of person to leave a review but I have NEVER seen this before in my life. My girlfriend and I come here quite a bit and the food is good. We came around 3:55 p.m on Aug. 30th. As we are ordering a carhop comes out and starts cussing out loud, not sure what about but it's important to the rest of the story. The same carhop comes to our car to hand us our food. In his words I quote, "I wanted to come out here and smoke this really bad" then proceeded to offer it to my girlfriend. By "it" I mean a THC marijuana vape. After she declines he wants to further question why she doesn't smoke. In NO way is this professional or decent. Breaking the law right by our car, (THC pens are charged as a felony due to the concentration), but is also poor customer service and a total lack of respect for both the company and it's employees. I am disgusted at the way he went about this and am appalled Sonic decides to hire men like this to go up to young women's cars. I wish I got his name but I can give a really great description of the guy! (African American, 5'11, 130 lbs, dreads/braids, long-ish hair). I will be reaching out to corporate about this. No customer should have to encounter this employee and I hope something is done to make it right.

I went to Sonic on 8/30/2023 at 6:53 pm CST, located at 4880 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas, TX. I was eager to try the advertised Bacon Pepper Ranch GC Burger and Tator tots for $3.99. When I opened the package, I immediately noticed that the toasted slices of bread looked very small. I opened my burger, and the ground meat patty was smaller than a breakfast sausage at McDonald's! I'm very disappointed in Sonic because the burger I purchased does NOT look like the Bacon Pepper Ranch GC Burger advertised all over TV. This is highly misleading, and I would need to eat 3 or 4 of those burgers to actually get full. I should have returned the burger to the restaurant and demanded a refund.

General manager Gomez was not able to have my watery Sonic blast remade. He said that that was how it was made. The problem was that I have no eaten this item too many time from various locations. I will be contacting customer service to report the quality of his service.

I visited sonic today for lunch and the food was exactly as I expected. the wait was not terribly long, the staff was very friendly and helpful. This was during the day. The parking lot was relatively full of other customers and my service was decently quick with a total wait time of around 10 minutes or so. The parking lot was easy to get in and out of was very clean and maintained.

Worst place to place an order. Called twice, thinking it was on my end on the phone and as I was placing my order. They kept hanging up, asking for my name on the order. When I called the third time they picked up the phone and hang up right away. I hate to place a bad review but this place really has no shame.

Sonic can be hit or miss at best. And I'm sad to real drive in restaurants like Ace in Joliet. But I was riding by and thought about their happy hour commercials. It was 100 degrees in the shade here in Dallas and figured a slushy was a good idea. I got a grape slush with strawberry mix in. It was refreshing but not much strawberry. And oddly enough, as bright as the sunny day was, it was dark at the Sonic

We always stop here for drinks and they are always good. We decided to order food the #10 and #11. Both were not the best in food quality. It seemed like both had been sitting out all day and tasted dry. I won't get food here again. The sonic lady was very nice!

Pulled in to this location at 8:30 this evening. Drive thru lane was closed but several cars in the stalls and a couple of carhops serving orders. Pulled in to stall #19, pushed the red button to order, waited 10 minutes and got no response whatsoever. I would have been late for work if I didn't drive off at that point. Thanks for nothing, Sonic.

This Sonic Drive-In is so sad... I'll start my review by first saying that I worked at Sonic for 2 years when I was in high school and I know the basics of how things work in this establishment. Now I'll tell you about all of the crappy experiences I've had here (not sure why I keep coming back). 1) Came here once and ordered the chicken sandwich meal. Got to the window and they didn't know what my order was. Ended up leaving with a footlong coney meal. No idea how any of that happened... Moving on... 2) TRIED to order a strawberry cream pie shake. Was told very confidently by the person taking my order, "It only comes in coconut or banana ma'am." ... Ummm, don't add either of those and put freaking strawberries! (Sorry, I was triggered). I used to work at Sonic + I've ordered this 1000 times + it's not rocket science.. so the drink could've been made. I wasn't in the mood for a fight so I left... with no shake... Moving on on... 3) Ordered a butterfinger blast. Can't mess that up right? WRONG! Got a medium butterfinger blast (that's 20 oz. ladies and gents) with about a 1/2 teaspoon of butterfinger.... saddest day of my life (jk)... but what a waste of money and carbs. These are just the worst experiences I can think of... doesn't include the ridiculous wait times for simple orders. I've learned my lesson and I'm never coming back.

I placed a mobile order for a Diet Coke, and checked into a stall number via the app. Sat there for 15-20 minutes checked in, and no one came. Finally clicked the button, and the guy says they are doing drive Thru only. When I asked why they couldn't have told me that via the intercom, and he just said "oh well". I am honestly shocked at this experience. Avoid this location.

Rude staff & horrible customer service. Pull up to stall to order and told by employee they will be right with us. Over 5 minutes later I hit the button again to only be told they are only accepting drive thru orders. With two teenagers wanting dessert, I pull around and into drive thru to only be told they are out of milk. We don't live anywhere close to a Sonic and while in the area for a college tour, we were looking forward to it. Never would go to this location again.

At one time this place wasn't bad, had their act together. The last couple of times I've been there like 6:30-7:00PM and can't get them to answer the drive through order speaker. Eventually I pulled into a stall and waited 5 minutes or so, I left. The next week no answer at the speaker, again, I pull in a stall, they finally answer and ask me what stall I'm at, I had no idea until I happen to look up and see the number. While giving my order it was like they kept talking to someone else, it was a bad experience. It scares me because I worry that the staff isn't on their game and is the food food being handled correctly, are they following proper GMP's. I'm not going back.

I pulled into the drive thru at this location at 1148pm on a Friday night (which I knew to do because if you pull into a stall after 11pm, they usually say to pull into the drive thru). The car in front of me pulled forward and when I pulled forward the person working the drive thru told me they were closed. When I asked what time they closed, the gentleman replied "midnight." It was about 1150pm at this time. I asked - "why are you closed if it isn't actually midnight?" He replied that the system already said midnight, and so they were closed. When I asked to speak to a manager, the young man said, "Sure" And after about a 30 second delay told me that the manager said they were closed. I pulled forward to leave, and watched the girl (Lizbeth, I believe) hand food to the car that was in front of me, who it was now clear ordered right before me. Quite frankly, this is pretty horrible service. If your establishment stops serving food early, it should probably be noted somewhere. I guess good customer service is dead - it's pretty clear that going home 8 minutes sooner is more important than maintaining a customer service centric business or representing a brand. I've probably been to this location 20 times in the past year as I live less than a mile away - it's safe to say I won't be giving them my money again.

Usually when I swing by this sonic I've taken a late lunch and it's happy hour time at Sonic. WIN! I've fallen in love with their mango and peach green teas. YEEESSS. I have no complaints, the drive thru is always pretty swift and accurate for me...and when I ask for extra ice, they never disappoint!

This is the worst Sonic I've ever been to. I'm from a different city and used to waiting MAYBE 5 minutes total in the drive thru during happy hour for just a drink. I've been to this location a handful of times and that was not the case. The most recent time I went, I waited probably 5 minutes just to place my order of a 32 oz Dr Pepper (that was fine). There were only 3 cars ahead of me, so I figured it wouldn't take long to make it all the way thru. In total, I waited 30 MINUTES before I made it to the window. I finally got up there and sat for 5 full minutes before just driving off completely as no one ever came to the window in that time. Not to mention, I could see my drink ready to go (probably had been for a half hour), but no one could even hand it to me? There was a girl with purple/pink hair that literally just looked like she was standing there doing nothing. At every other Sonic I've been to, if people in front of me ordered a bunch of food, I have always been brought my drink through that door next to the window so I can leave. (The people in front of me just had drinks too though, so not sure why the wait was so long). Long story short, I will NEVER be back to this location. It's always an unpleasant experience with ridiculous wait times.

No matter how little I order here I only ever get slow service. The first time I came I was thirsty and there were only a couple card in the drive through and parked around. I ordered just a larger coke, one drink. It took just under 20 minuets. Sat in line I had just assumed someone ahead of me had placed a large order, but then they were handed a small bag and that was it. I pulled up to the window a waited for another 5 mins to have someone come and serve me. I payed, and then had to wait another 5 minuets. After paying I saw the lady pull out the cup and put it on the machine, but then walk away. This place has, not just slow, but bad service.

I just left here and decided to go to Braums instead because I pull in the stall at Sonic the guy does not greet with me at all he only says are you ready to order I told him what I want and he doesn't say anything at all it's totally quiet never heard anything I'm waiting so I could pay even though he didn't tell me the total he did not read the order there's total silence I am lazy I'll probably go back if I get desperate because this location is close but that was pretty lame maybe I'll go back when they're in a better mood LOL and I'm using voice text not sorry lol

I come here when I don't have enough time to cook myself, or when I'm craving a strawberry limeade. (If you get one, be sure to eat the strawberries at the bottom of the cup, they get slightly fizzy from the sprite and are so yummy, don't let those noms go to waste!). The SuperSonic breakfast burrito is also one of my go-to's, available all day/night whenever you want some warm, spicy, meaty, tater tot-ey, carb-ey goodness. This location isn't the fastest, my order of 2-3 items requires about a 10-15 minute wait, and that's when there are only 3 other cars here. I guess if you're the only car here, it's a good option for a quick snack/meal especially since it's pretty close to the med school. 3 stars because for a drive-in, this location doesn't deliver on speedy performance that most people want when they come to dine at Sonic. I guess the wait is good in that it may dissuade you from coming to eat the unhealthy (but pretty tasty) snackage. I'll still be coming back though!

We went through the the drive-through today (7-25-20) at 1:45 pm. The young female working the window walked out to our car to bring us our drinks because there was a line. We were alarmed to see that she wasn't wearing a mask and when I questioned her she pulled the mask up where it was covering her mouth and not her nose. She informed me that she felt claustrophobic wearing a mask. This is frightening! I also thought it was strange when she brought us our drinks that she told us that it was only 10 min until happy hour. I'm not sure why she told us that. We were aware of the time and ok with paying full price. It would have just been nice to see her taking the pandemic seriously. BEWARE OF THIS SONIC!!!

Horrible experience. If you enjoy a 30 minute wait time before demanding a refund and leaving hungry, this is the place for you. The single star is for how easy the refund process was. The manager was exceptional in realizing nobody prepared my order after receiving it but I still left with nothing but an empty stomach and an added stop for food on the way home. Better luck next time. Lol. There are too many nearby options for a next time.

All I ordered was a strawberry limeade. It was overly sour, maybe too much lime was added, but I couldn't taste any strawberry and I took one sip and couldn't take another. The service was fast and my friend's drink turned out fine, but I'm probably never going to come back to this location of Sonic.

I come to this location often because it's down the street from my house. I only order shakes and chicken bites (my favs). The service is always fast and food is always fresh. This location has me spoiled because I've gone to other Sonic locations and was not happy either with how slow the service was, how dry and old the food tasted or how bad the shakes made my stomach hurt. So I definitely recommend this particular location.

This sonic has terrible reviews for a reason - they're awful. We tried to go a couple days ago for happy hour and no one was answering the stalls and the drive thru line was forever long. We went again today for lunch and they didn't have ranch, forgot to give us straws and apparently didn't have bags either as everything was handed to us individually. Their employees are incompetent - steer clear of this location!

Based on other reviews, I must have been lucky for the most part over the years as this is my neighborhood Sonic. I don't know what is going on, but I'll never be back due to the horrible service. Recently, some of the stalls have had signs over the buttons saying closed and directing you to the drive thru. I use the app to order and was forced to sit on the drive thru behind people ordering live while my food got cold. When I got to the speaker he said, "Oh, you could have still checked in at a stall". So this last time, I pulled into an open stall. I noticed that about half of the stalls were now roped off. The sign covering the button said online orders only so I checked in. The screen showed I was properly checked in and my order was "in the kitchen". I waited forever. Finally a girl came out and asked if I had an online order. She took my name and returned with my half melted sundae. There was no explanation as to why things are still not normal and apparently even worse than before. Don't waste your time or money at this location.

Absolutely disgusting. Forgot to give me all of my food, didn't find out till i was back at work, had to go back to get the rest. Hamburger was cold as ice, and the ketchup packets they gave me were all stuck together with something sticky and gross. Absolute trash

It was ok.i came here late. Like most places the closer you get to quiting time the lower the freshest of the food. I grabbed a double cheeseburger and some tator tots. The tots were good but the cheeseburger wa just ok.
