Paul was amazing, he is single handedly the reason I will be returning. While the menu is sure to impress, the atmosphere and staff are what push it into hidden gem territory! We are in from out of town to celebrate my friends 21st birthday and Paul helped expand our pallets. He pushed the experience beyond memorable by recommending bars in our home town for us to explore that he’d personally recommend. Top notch drinks and top notch service.

Great atmosphere and the cocktails are wonderful! I had a cocktail with fresh Thai basil and spice. Delicious! I also tried the hot dog which was good, just fancier than I was expecting.

This place is great! Came here with a couple friends to catch up over drinks and some light apps / food. The quality of both definitely surprised me! Especially the curly fries - those were amazingly crisp. On the drinks side of the equation, I really enjoyed the clarified Long Island ice tea. A cool vibe of a place, definitely gets bumping as the night goes on (but not impossible to hear or anything).

Sonnys opened in our neighborhood and it’s a great spot to grab a late night drink. Their cocktails are decently priced and good. Their food is also good (I recommend the crab Rangoon dip!). Music can be really loud and it gets packed on Fridays and Saturday’s but it’s still always a good time. I’ve even brought my parents!

i LOVE coming here!! hot dog tower fan for life!! i do have one request though: PLEASE make a dedicated mocktail menu printed alongside the alcohol options!! the soft side is one of the best mocktails i’ve ever had in my life and i almost didn’t hear about it!!! and the arugula soda is so good!! please sonny 🙏💕

Fantastic place with a great atmosphere, often featuring live music. The hidden garden is absolutely charming! But above all, the owners are truly wonderful people, they handled an unfortunate incident of discrimination with exceptional care and professionalism. Highly recommended! (The Pharcyde drink is delicious!)

We had Sam as our server she was awesome! Fast prompt and friendly! They had dollar dogs and amazing crab dip with wonton chips!

Sunday, Monday, Wednesday has a great reverse happy hour. The vibes are great and the quality is what you expect from grace and proper. Mini cocktails are fun and the retro/modern mixup is fun. Definitely a spot to visit again and again

A lot to say about Sonny's. Great cocktail bar with a funky swag and great service. It honestly feels like you're getting a drink at a friend's house. The main room has a pool table so there's usually folks cheering on buddy's. The back patio is where I recommend spending some time. On a nice day, it's perfect for chatting with friends or even a date night. Fun decorations and plenty of seating. Food and drinks were excellent. Can't remember how many Paloma's I had. Very well balanced cocktails. Prince of Southstreet Pizza was incredible. Hot Honey takes it to the next level. I hear they do some hotdog specials during Phillies Gameday so I'll have to come back for that.

Bury me in a pile of their buttery truffle popcorn, please. I enjoyed some time at the bar before eventually heading out to the (stunning) back patio. I had a freezer cosmo, the aforementioned god tier popcorn, half a burger, and some tasty roasted carrots. The back patio is decorated thoughtfully and an awesome spot to catch up with a friend and enjoy some tasty bevs. I will be back to Sonny's again and again for the neighborhood vibes, tasty bar food, and especially that cosmo. Also, a hot dawg tower. Also, a spaghet. Also, more popcorn. Okay see you soon Sonny's and welcome back - ILYSM.

Another Philly jaw dropping WTF is this dive bar doing here! And why haven't I heard more about it? Back yard oasis, check! Retro 1950's vintage seats in front, check! TV's with sound for game watching, check! Brick Face, check! Kind bartending, check! Fair prices, Check! Check!Check! It's a great day to be part of Philly culture!

Needed to post an update, cause this place just keeps getting better and better. It's become my go to spot for a fun evening with friends. The staff is amazing shoutout to Jordy and JJ! I previously only had some pizza one night, well I had a bunch of food today and I couldn't believe how good it was Shishito peppers - amazing. Corn dog - fantastic. Crab Rangoon dip, my God is it good, very decadent and packs a punch but so flavorful. And THE BURGER. 10/10, and it is only $10 which I thought was reasonable for the size and how good it is. Best burger I've had in a long time. I also went 5-0 on the pool table ....all in a days work.

The first thing that caught our attention was their cheap draft option. We got it expecting to not like it but it was pretty decent. It's nice to have that option in case your not feeling like filling up on beer or spending a tone. The atmosphere was pretty good with some warm lighting, pool, and good bar spots. The beer is general was pretty decent but also nothing that I would go out of my way for. As for the clouds, we got in just in time to snag a seat but we were probably the last.

Loved this place!! Very fun vibe with pool tables and different seating options and still room to stand by the bar too. There were good bar food options like the dawg of the day and yummy pizzas. They had cocktails as well as their own beer on draft. Everyone working was nice and made sure to check in whenever needed and let us know of specials. There is a little outdoor space too.

we come every weekend. manager said she lost my card. when I was upset, she grabbed my drink out my hand demanded we leave. the drink spilled all over me and she did the same to my friend. also said some wildly rude things.

New favorite spot ! GREAT ambiance with awesome decor. Perfectly lit and an awesome covered back patio. Dollar dogs during home Phillies games. They also have $12 Hugo spritz and $4 Sonnys draft beer called "Sonnys cheap ass beer"

Very creative and tasty cocktails as well as solid food. The atmosphere is unique and enjoyable. There are all kinds of chairs, some tiny (not size inclusive), however there are a number of options that could fit a larger individual such as myself.

Ev is my soulmate. I love him, give him a raise, give him a crown, give him a Paloma. The food has saved me multiple times. Get the crab Rangoon dip it is a holy experience. Their sauces I would like to bathe in. Thank you for reopening whoever started the fire above you should be arrested.

Sonny's Cocktail Joint has replaced The Cambridge, although it's the same owners. The place has a nice lounge like vibe to grab a few happy hour or after dinner drinks with friends. The food options are limited to basic bar snacks and leave much room to be desired. However, as far as a hangout joint there is a beautiful "backyard outdoor" area, outdoor sidewalk seating as well as the indoor bar and tables. It's certainly a cool spot to kick back with friends for some drinks.

I was luckily able to get a sneak peek of Sonny's Cocktail Joint this Wednesday night at their Media Party. When I heard that the empty space next to Wine Dive was finally going to open, I was so excited! My first visit did not disappoint. When I arrived, I entered through Wine Dive and was able to walk through to Sonny's as they are connected inside. While the decor of each space is uniquely it's own, they both share and upscale eclectic vibe. To drink, I had the Bangarang Frosé and after the first, I could not order anything else. YUM! I'm usually not a fan of dry frosé, but this one was different. Not too dry but not at all sweet. It had a more tart taste (definitely the cherry flavor) and it was really delicious. To eat, I tried the insanely delicious hot dogs and dunkaroos. I'm honestly still in shock at how good the hot dog was... I don't even like half of the toppings and decided to go for it anyways. The flavors work perfectly together. The mini chocolate chip cookies in the dunkaroos were perfection and the buttercream icing was delicious. The staff was very kind and attentive, despite the place being packed! I'm looking forward to their official opening on Friday, August 6th.

Awesome food, great ambience, incredible service. Not only would I recommend people to try it out, but I would consider renting out the space for a sizable group

I came here for a private party that offered half the bar blocked off for us from 5pm-8pm Saturday. The DJ saved my life was on the "free" drinks offered for the party and it was quite good. After looking at their menu I see it is now offered as a shot for half the price and would recommend the shot version over the drink as it does have a lot of sugar in it as my blood sugar rose like a rocket (being diabetic I was able to see it go to the moon using a glucose sensor). This spot is right near Bob's and Barbara's which I really love as a dive bar however if you don't mind spending the extra money as Sonny's cocktail joint gives off the dive bar vibe but definitely not the dive bar prices I would definitely make this a go to spot. I will most likely be back if I win a sports bet to spend some cash and try some of their food items. As always people SYOY!!!

I truly enjoyed Sonny's -solid old fashioned, honest bartenders, a cool crowd and good vibes. We got bougie popcorn that wasn't the freshest but the drinks were strong and the menu was fun.

Sonny's cocktail Joint is the newest chill spot in South Philly. I was able to get a sneak peek of the place last Wednesday night for their media party. It is connected to Wine Dive Philly. Sonny's has the perfect Restaurant + Bar + Backyard views and it did not disappoint. It is laid back and a great spot to hang out with friends for happy hour, on a weekend, and to even host birthdays, celebrations, or any other event. The backyard is beautiful: has Jungle vibes: it's warm, has mixed elements of thrift finds, artwork & paintings, jukebox, checkered floors, vinyl, and plants all over (which obv I was a huge fan of being a plant lover). There is an extensive list of aesthetically pleasing cocktails and a collection of wine as well from Wine Dive Philly. It is perfect for all my cocktail & wine lovers. Plus they have frozes and beers on draft. The drinks I tried & highly recommend are the DJ save my life & the froze! For Their bite-sized food, I had Mac & cheese bites, mushroom shiitakes, veggie blue cheese sandwich & dunkaroo. Their twist on dunkaroos IS SO GOOD! It included mini chocolate chip cookies with buttercream ice cream; delicious. A must-try. The staff was extremely attentive, polite, and friendly. Even though it was packed, they kept coming to check up on each table to see how everyone was doing. Head over to Sonny's & Wine dive for your weekend plans with friends. It is the perfect hang-out spot! It opened on August 6th & is the newest popular spot in town!

Well I can only write this based on cocktails. But we had four different cocktails between the two of us and they were all original, delicious and not overly sweet. In fact I like this new trend that is utilizing club soda as an ingredient and less sweetness with many of the drinks. Very cool laid back garden area in the back. If you're looking for a cool place to have a cocktail in the South Street area these guys fit the bill.

A really nice spot for after the club or before. Customer service was exceptional and you can tell they actually care about the service experience. I tried the Mac/ Cheese and have no complaints.

I've been here three times now and I'm really grateful to have this place within walking distance. The staff has been super friendly. I also appreciated how they professionally enforced COVID rules. They also handled a drunk guest very professionally and prevented anything from escalating. Food wise- I've had macaroni and cheese. Loved it. It's not overly heavy. The bang bang broccoli scared me when it came out because it just looked like a bunch of raw broccoli but they must have air fried it really good. It was awesome. The hot dog was good, the mustard on it was amazing. My only complaint is that I kept getting wine and when I got to the bottom there was a bunch of gunk floating in it.

Great place to grab a cocktail (or several, they're very good!) We came during their first open weekend and the service was outstanding. I always enjoy a good bourbon drink, and Sonnys had several. The Parkway with bourbon, orange aperitif and vermouth was a perfect after dinner cocktail. The house old fashioned was well executed - I liked that the bourbon blend included rye. Plus, it was reasonably priced ($11, compared to $14 for other bourbon drinks) - other bars seem to up charge old fashioned drinks for some reason. Would happily return for more cocktails and food.

This is my neighborhood cocktail place and I love them. They're a super chill but with all the trimmings bar with live music, good food, and a really reasonable set of bartenders. I sometimes show up with a book and sit at the bar just to read and be around people. The bartenders make sure I'm good but aren't always on me, the ambiance is laughter with drinks pouring in the background, it's just a really great spot to get to be your local bar (especially if you're in the area and not at the bob and barbara's level that day)

Sonny's recently opened as the cocktail side to Wine Dive. This is a great place to meet for drinks with a group of friends or impress a first date. The atmosphere is dive-inspired, but very clean and well curated. If you're trying to impress someone with a brand new, just opened, probably haven't heard of it drink spot, this is it! Sonny's has a cute outdoor garden space that is tucked away behind the bar if you prefer to dine outside as I do. They also have group seating out front that is covered. Their cocktails and frosé are delicious! Cheers

They don't do reservations. Strong pours with cocktails. The Negronis are A1 if you like gin. Food was great, everything was amazing -- you can literally get anything on the menu and it's good. I recommend the burgers and steak frites. I felt for our server, they really do need more people on the floor because she had so many tables to cover and it was hard to get another round of drinks.

The cocktails are perfection. I got the 2-Kill-A Jet Pilot and my partner got the House Old Fashioned. We both love really good cocktails and this is it, and reasonable pricing, too.

The bartender Mike is well educated in mixology! Great conversation with him and other patrons on the history of cocktails. The food was was excellent and I highly recommend Sonnys any night you just want to chill, eat well and have great cocktails!

Sonny's definitely has a great vibe for grabbing drinks and hanging out. Isn't too loud so you can actually talk, too. We ordered their special grilled cheese, which was fantastic, and the Buffalo chicken grinder. The grinder was very mild in flavor compared to what we consider Buffalo style. But good portion size nonetheless. For drinks we ordered a beer and an old fashion - which was house bourbon and just ok. On a prior visit just for drinks the tap list was better than this second visit. Worth it for a hangout spot and above average, and more interesting bar food..

This was the perfect early evening cocktail spot. Irma been recommended to me to come back when things get poppin' at night, but I have to say I loved the vibes around sunset having the place a little more to ourselves. I highly recommend all the fun cocktails and interesting twists on bar food!

Awesome service, eclectic vibes, tasty cocktails. I also enjoy the mix of a cocktail vibe, but with the birds on the tv Go birds.

For a brand new spot in Philly, I was blown away by the unkind service. They share a space with their next door bar but you check in at the host outside for both spots. We were inside but opted to move outdoors in the front once someone left, just to be told by a quite rude server that the front outdoor seating is for a different bar and not Sonny's. Luckily it was just that one guy that was apparently having a bad day, cause I don't know what other reason there would be for him to be so rude to new customers. Our server was amazing, food and drinks were great, but I do question if I'll be back. I believe the unkind worker was a manager of sorts and am quite shocked that he was that rude when it's very unclear that the front outdoor seating is not for sonny's but the back outdoor seating is. Cool idea but not really worth it if you have to deal with grumpy pants manager. There are other great cocktail places in the city with better service.

Awful cocktails. Weird segregated outdoor setup in front. Way better places in Philly to drink and dine. Will not return.
