I realize everybody has their opinion on what is the best Philly cheese steak in Philadelphia... but I'm here to tell you Dayuuuuuuum! I had a four and a half hour layover and I went to see the Liberty Bell and was blessed enough to have one of these cheese steaks holy cow! As a Texas girl who knows what good food is supposed to taste like this place was phenomenal the vibe was cozy and the staff was hilarious highly recommend go get you one!

The sandwiches were good but not the best I've ever had for sure. Their service was fast and friendly, and their pricing is decent. We tried a different just to see if one was better than the others, but they were all good. Street parking was difficult, but other than that, it's in a pretty good area.

I made a quick stop through Philadelphia and of course, had to get a Philly. I chose this place because it was close to the area I was in and the reviews were good. I went around 7pm and there was no line. The gentlemen at the counter were all friendly and helpful. My “classic” cheesesteak didn’t disappoint. My only critique is it was a bit dry for my taste. So, next time, I would just order extra cheese. I would definitely go back, though. Sonny’s delivers on the Philly’s!!

Overall good, but I’ve had better. The steak was very good quality, but cheese whiz was lacking, and honestly not much flavor. I’m told the best Philly’s have a softer steamed roll. This bread was not hard, but also not steamed and soft. It’s honestly probably all in what you grew up with because I think a good Penn Station Subs Philly is better. Again, not bad, but not what I was expecting either. Just my opinion.

I was excited to try this place but it was such a disappointing cheesesteak- it was dry. I got the cheesesteak with wiz and onion- it mainly lacked whiz and the meat was dry. Compared to other cheesesteak places I’ve tried, it wasn’t the best! Our group also shared mozzarella sticks, fries, and onion rings. The sides were pretty good! The mozzarella sticks had the nice pull apart with the cheese. We all loved the fries, and the onion rings were nice. Pretty cool interior with friendly/quick service! Personally, I just think there are better cheesesteaks elsewhere.

The Steak was a bit chunky but overall hit the right notes (although I needed to heavy hand the salt and pepper). Cheese was adequately melted, lettuce chopped and mayo applied. Overall, Above average steak and cheese. The French fries were the lightly seasoned variety, not bad.

This is a great place to get cheesesteaks while in Philadelphia. They were not busy when I came and I was able to order really quickly. I ordered the regular Philly and it was great. It was a great amount of meat and cheese with a good amount of onions. It was extremely flavorful and overall high quality and a good amount of food. If you're looking for a good place to get a Philly cheesesteak while in Philadelphia, this is a great place to go.

Sonny's slogan is "can't beat our meat" and they are absolutely right!! Definitely the best quality steak and great rolls too . I've tried a lot of cheesesteaks and this is the place I'll come back too.
