"For almost a year, this Southwest food truck was the place to go for chicken wings, fried fish, mac and cheese, honey butter cornbread, and other soul food go-to’s. Now you can grab a platter at their Midtown Village location at 11th and Locust St. At the fast-casual place, you can order those same items like fried catfish, collard greens, and banana pudding for takeout, or you can dive right into a plate at the handful of seats in their dining room." - Candis R. "Sooo Delicious has transitioned from a popular soul food truck to a brick-and-mortar location. The menu includes saucy wings, fried shrimp, mac and cheese, fried fish sandwiches, and seafood salad." - Dayna Evans

Very good! I live in Jersey and found this place on line and I am so happy I did! Very good soul food spot! I had the fried salmon, Mac and cheese and broccoli. Everything was so delicious. The young lady who answered the phone and took our order was extremely sweet and even called us back to let us know everything was ready. Amazing Customer service!! Thank you for a great meal on a friday night🙂

The fried whiting reminded of the fish fries my family used to have when I was growing up in Virginia, so props for that. The greens and Cajun rice were yummy as well. Can’t wait to try the yams (they were still cooking when I went). More of a takeout jawn. There are a few tables if you want to eat there, but they’re cramped.

Good food! I ordered two platters. One was fried chicken wings, cabbage and Cajun rice. The cabbage was sweet and a little spicy. The rice was bland and I needed to add salt and the wings were great. The other platter I ordered was fish, Mac and cheese and greens. I haven’t ate it yet but I will edit my review when I do. I have high hopes for it. Will order from here again.

Angel & Aminah are incredible! The flavors incorporated into the Mac & Cheese dissolves you into flavor heaven. The spices distributed evenly. Provides the warmth of comfort of grandma's dining room on thanksgiving evening. The portions are plentiful to share. The collard greens are so so so fresh. Reasonably priced as well. Friendly and cordial staff. The exemplary service was superb. Thank you for the excellent hospitality and welcoming smiles.

I’m not sure how this place got a 4.6 star. The food was not that great, The cabbage had too much salt and garlic in it. The collar greens were So-so I wish they would’ve cooked the greens with smoked turkey that probably would have made the flavor taste a little better. The chicken wings was not crispy at all, more so soggy. The best thing was the cornbread and the packaging.

Google
Lazy Sunday did not feel like cooking so I check Yber Eats and found Sooo Delicious and trust me they chose the right name the food was Just that Yummy. We got the whiting yams and greens, and also the garlic park wings and can’t forget the cornbread both portions were huge, enough for 2 people sorry no picks ate it before I could snap any I already went in. Definitely would order again and look how much is left

I was so excited to try this new restaurant in my neighborhood. I went in around 7, ordered the mac and cheese and the hostess asked me to wait, she went into the kitchen, came out and said we can’t do that. Not sure what the issue was but I definitely didn’t feel welcomed. The attitude, death stare she was giving off was not cute and certainly not one of any restaurant trying to be successful should want representing them. If this persists, like other restaurants in that spot, you will be out of business before you know it. I’ve seen many come and go… I hope it’s not the case, I do wish your business success but the young lady in the front needs to go or be trained how to be kind. Life 👏🏿 Is 👏🏾 too 👏🏽 short 👏🏼. ☮️

Yelp
I stopped by Sooo Delicious to pick up some dinner on the way home from work. I was surprised to see a sign on the door that there was no seating inside, and then even more surprised when I walked in and saw a sign saying no refunds. Certainly, no good restaurant would put up a no refund sign. Many restaurants are actually happy to refund a bad meal. Very odd... It was also very warm inside, as I was there on a nice weather day. Not the best first impression. I ordered the fried chicken wings, with greens and mac & cheese as my sides. I added a slice of 7Up cake for dessert. At first I was told there was no more cake left, but I was pleasantly surprised for a change when minutes later I was told they have the cake. I rushed home so that I could eat my meal while it was still warm. The fried chicken was delicious. Perfectly fried to have that crunch when I bit into it. It was well seasoned and juicy. The greens and mac & cheese were just average though. I've had it better at many black family dinners. The 7Up cake was a nice sweet ending to the meal. I would get the wings and cake again, but switch up the sides. Sooo delicious has protentional but there is still some work to do, both on the inside of the restaurant so that people can eat inside and with the food, to elevate it to that 4 or 5 star level. I am rooting for them, as I would love to have really good soul food within walking distance of my condo.

Yelp
I have tried this place three times, with three different people, and each person (myself included) has immediately said the same thing: SALTY AF! Listen, I like salt just as much as the next person but damn this was just overboard. The greens were so salty it blew out all the other flavors. This is soul food cooking 101: don't fall into the trap of just loading everything up with salt because you think that's what soul food is supposed to taste like. You can make it taste good without all that! Also, this is not a normal amount of salt for a human being to consume! This food made my blood pressure go through the roof. This is part of the reason why sooooo Black people are dying in their 50s and 60s! Our hearts deserve better than this. If they could just chill on the salt then I would give this place a 5! The food was otherwise prepared well, and I could tell it would have tasted great if they hadn't salt bombed it. The only thing not salty was the yams. They were loaded down with sugar of course (lol) but delicious!

Yelp
I wanted to like this place so much but sadly I cannot. I've been on two separate occasions. The first time I walked in and placed an order for honey hot wing dings and an order of regular whole fried chicken wings with greens and Mac & cheese for both. The honey hot wings were just ok. The fried wings didn't taste like anything. I have to drown them in hot sauce smh. The wings were a nice size though. The greens were good this time but the Mac & cheese tasted kinda sweet? It was very strange. The second time I got another whole fried wing platter with the same sides. Same things happened this time except the greens weren't good either and the wings were small. I was so disappointed. Also, the young ladies working the front were loud and unprofessional. They were nice but their behavior while working was (to me) inappropriate.

Yelp
The best damn meal I've had in awhile. The crab cakes were beyond incredible. They were loaded with tons of crab, fried to perfection and best of all they weren't greasy. The Mac and Cheese was amazing, but the collard greens ... OMG, I just can't find the words to adequately explain how Sooooooo Delicious they were. You must experience them for yourself to understand. I highly recommend Sooo Delicious Soul Food. Girls, you rocked it!

Yelp
I don't have any complaints. The food was delicious and plentiful. I ate off my platter all day. I will definitely return!

Yelp
Before using Uber Eats to order from this restaurant, I called them to verify that they had what I wanted to order. They said they did so I placed an ordered. Thirty minutes later when my order had not arrived, I checked Uber Eats and it showed that the orde had been canceled. I called the restaurant to see why and they told me Uber Eats had canceled my order because I had not responded to a message from Uber Eats that they were out of one of the items. I checked my account, but I hadn't received any such notification. So I asked them if they had another item. They said yes, I immediately ordered again and within two to three minutes, I got a message saying the store had canceled my second order. Sooo Delicious Soul Food has lost a customer. They should have been straight forward with me in the first place.

Yelp
As a Southern girl visiting Philadelphia I was over cheese steaks and wanted some good Southern food and Sooo Delicious was just that. Although the restaurant was out of a number of menu items (inwhich almost caused me to leave) what they did have was great. My man had the juice and said it was one of the best pink lemonades he had ever had. The restaurant's service could have been better which is the reason for the three stars. But if I lived in the area I would definitely visit frequently.

Yelp
Ordered a fish platter. unfortunately the sides I wanted was not available. I settled with broccoli and Mac n cheese. I was also a bit taken back by the price. but I will say the food was delicious ! and absolutely worth it! I loved the personal "thank you" on the bag as well! Keep up the great work! I will definitely recommend!

Yelp
In a continuing effort to support black owned businesses, I find myself disappointed this time. Let's start with the wait time: its insanely too long. The rice was overcooked and seemed like it was mixed with undercooked rice supporting my fried shrimp which was soggy from the rice. There were literally 8 fries and the fact that I can count them is a testament in itself. The broccoli was the best thing on the platter which was straddling overcooked. I see the potential and these owners could use some direction.

Yelp
Was really excited to try this place but it did not meet expectations. Fish was cooked well but under seasoned and no sauce/lemon/etc. The mac & cheese was extremely underwhelming. Collards were a little on the sweeter side. Wings were mediocre. Overall the meal lacked flavor and spice. Not worth the money as it is right now.

Yelp
ALL THE WAY FROM SOUTH PHILLY TO CENTER CITY ONLY TO BE DISAPPOINTED I just arrived home from picking up my order. I ordered the chicken wings platter and instead received drum sticks and the winglet part of the wings, both small. I called the store and the receptionist stated they had no wings (which l don't believe) and insisted that she told me that, which of course she did not as I wouldn't have placed an order. They made a choice for me without asking and then denied a refund. On top of that indignity, the food was bland. This place has gone down from the days when they were operating out of a food truck to the now brick and mortor store. And they had the nerve to charge me the same price of the chicken wings . I used to order from them faithfully but that has changed. I won't be patronizing them ever again. They lost a loyal customer. Oh, I wound up throwing the food away. I paid for this lesson of trying to support Black businesses and yes, I am Black.

Yelp
its your own that can disappoint you the most. no air conditioning on a summer day in philly. flies all over. the cashier did not let me know the item i wanted was not availble until i ordered and didnt offer a drink with my order. didnt greet me...i had to say hello to her. the prices were outrageous. finally got my order. mac n cheese was great...sweet potatoes was full of sauce , and i had to search for the potatoes. summary...horrible service, uncomfortable atmosphere, food was delicious.....i will be back!!!!
