I have a lot to say 😅 First: atmosphere. We arrived at 8:10pm for an 8:30 reservation. It was the tail end of dinner rush, and we arrived expecting to wait for our table to be ready. We sat at the bar and had a drink while we waited. It was very cozy, hip, inviting. The wine list had lots of Italian options by the glass or bottle. (Sadly, a lot of “Italian” American restaurants do not.) I ordered a Prosecco and my husband ordered a spicy tequila cocktail that was perfectly balanced. Delicious. Our table was ready on time. We ordered several plates, all to share. Beet salad: 10/10 for my taste. Very well balanced, not too much dressing, just delicious. I could eat it every day. (I order the beet salad at any restaurant who serves one, this is now my fav.) Arancini: crispy outside, creamy and well seasoned inside. So good, would order again. Burrata with crispy chili & house bread: 100/10. Whoever thought of this deserves a raise. I’ve never had this flavor combo and now I crave it! Clam pizza (special): I really enjoyed this. The sauce had a slight kick of heat to it. The dough was very good, it was cooked well. Would probably order the Margherita next time since it’s our go-to at pizza/Italian places, but I’m glad I tried this. Ziti w/ragu: my least favorite dish. Anytime I see a “ragu” pasta on a menu, I order it. The ziti shape didn’t go well with the type of sauce (for my personal preference). Also, the sauce wasn’t as rich and comforting as lots of ragu’s I’ve had. It was still tasty and I’m enjoying the leftovers. Just didn’t knock my socks off like the burrata. I also ordered a glass of Barolo for dinner. Delicious. Overall- I loved this place and can’t wait to go back!

Very nice atmosphere inside and out. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Their Monday sauce is full of flavor and unique. Meals are hearty and portion sizes are good. A nice selection for a date night or a night out with friends. Upscale but not overly pricey. I would pass on the Limoncello next time, though. Not sure if it's homemade or if they are working on a homemade recipe. Would try their specialty pizza in the future as it was highly recommended by staff and other patrons.

I had reservations I highly advise you to do the same. My first review is on the Chicken Piccata meatballs. It was very tender and flavorful and the lemony taste gave it an extra kick in the after taste highly recommend it. Now there were three entrees ordered at my table and yes I had a taste of all of them. The first one was the Rigatoni alla Vodka. It was just ok. But I’m not a big fan of alla Vodka. But my mother enjoyed it. The second meal I had was the veal strip loin Saltimbocca. It was very tender delicate and light. Very tasteful. The third meal I had was The Duroc Pork Chop. The chop was very thick and juicy. It was covered in onions and peppers with some sweet sauce It was delicious! It had a sweet and spicy flavor to it that combined to an explosion in my mouth. I highly recommend this dish. Sorella also had a wide variety of wines so if you’re into wine it’ll be great for you. The service was great waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive to our table. I recommend Sorella as a great place to get Italian food in the bay view area

Ate here tonight for our anniversary. Our server was very attentive, and he really took care of us. I had the pork chop, and my wife had the pasta with Cavitali Monday sauce. Cocktails were great, atmosphere was great, pork chop was great. Overall, we had a really good time, and the food/atmosphere was perfect for a nice date night. The desserts were actually the highlight of the meal. Spectacular tirimisu and chocolate cake. Definitely one of the better Italian spots in Milwaukee.

We celebrated my birthday here and had a great time! The food was very authentic. The service was great. Will definitely come back.! Their gnocchi was far above anything else I’ve ever had! I need to go back again soon so we can have room for dessert!

Dinner, service and atmosphere was excellent. Had rigatoni with vodka sauce and a delicious pizza.

Google
Food is excellent. We enjoyed the appitizers a little more than a couple of the entres, but all around really fresh and quality meal. Generous portions and appitizers. The dining area is a little tight and some seating is very close to the door. Our table was pretty wobbly, which makes cutting food a little weird. Overall, great experience and we will return.

Yelp
Sorella is a hot spot that is super busy, but you still get the feel that you are the most important guest dining in. Our server was knowledgeable, fast, kind and paid attention to detail. Our food was served quickly and hot. We ordered pizza, chicken and pasta and we cannot name one item we did not like. The place was dim which gave it the perfect vibe. The dining room is open with many tables and booths. There is a full bar and seating in that area as well. We were pleased that they were able to accommodate our group of 11 and we fit comfortably. In addition there is also outside seating that is heated for the cooler months. I'll add, the washrooms are impressive and I absolutely love the lighting. Most definitely a spot to check out if you're in the Milwaukee area!

Yelp
This very attractive restaurant makes great use of a space and is beautifully designed in many ways. My six guests enjoyed their meals. I suspect that others who planned leisurely meals with friends in tables of 2 to 4 may have rated their experience higher. However, that was not true for us. We were on time for our reservation and seated immediately, actually a couple minutes early. We were given menus and water right away. Then, 15 minutes later, I asked a passing staff member if she could find us a server. When he arrived, he asked if we had any questions! Once I got him to understand that we had theater tickets, things picked up. As mentioned earlier, the food was quite good. But we got out in time for the show because we ate quite quickly, a task made easier by our inability to hear one another in the din in the room. Throughout this, the host stood idly at the door while the place clearly needed some help. I'll wait to return when outdoor dining resumes.

Yelp
We stopped by Sorella for a friend's birthday dinner. The inside is cute and cozy, and bustling. There isn't much room to wait for a table, and unfortunately, even if you have a rezo you'll be waiting. We were seated 20 minutes late, while they were waiting for a table to leave their outdoor tent. Meanwhile there was a table that was empty inside that would have fit us all, that they didn't seat us at. Understood that they may have had other reservations coming up, however, we had been waiting 20 minutes past our reservation. We finally got seated in the outdoor tent. Online they state that the tent is 70 degrees. This is greatly inaccurate. While there is fire and a heater, the outdoor tent was so cold! They leave the tent entry open, which creates a wind tunnel, and the temp was entirely uncomfortable. If you're going to sit outside, you should dress in layers to keep warm. We got seated, and they hadn't even filled water glasses or brought water to the table. We finally got waters another 15 minutes after we got seated. Our drink orders taken 45 minutes after our initial reservation time. Service throughout the night after that was just ok. The great thing though, is that the food was good. We ordered Burrata, arancini, pizzas, vodka pasta, chicken parm, Nutella calzone, and tiramisu. The Burrata was delicious, as were the pizzas. Our friends enjoyed the pasta and chicken parm. Nutella calzone was also good, but it would have been nice if they had provided silverware. Also, nothing special for birthdays here. Overall, our dinner was ok. Sorella is expensive, our bill for the table was around $350-400 and unfortunately the service just didn't match. Food was good, but honestly nothing overly special. I'd recommend the Burrata and the pizza.

Yelp
The food here was pretty good but I personally dislike the whole tomatoes in the spaghetti but that's probably just me. and the service was ok not great but not bad. But the atmosphere was great and very cute over all would return

Yelp
Sorella offers a fine dining experience, but it doesn't quite live up to the hype. The atmosphere is pleasant and modern, with sleek décor and an intimate setting. The space is cozy, making it a good spot for a casual evening out, though it doesn't have the same wow factor that some other local spots deliver. The menu features a variety of Italian-inspired dishes, and while the food is decent, it lacks the creativity or boldness you might expect from a higher-end restaurant. The pasta was fresh and well-prepared, but it didn't stand out in terms of flavor. The sauces, while good, were a bit on the plain side, and there was a noticeable lack of complexity in some of the dishes. While the presentation was attractive, the flavors didn't quite reach the level of excellence. Overall, Sorella is a fine option if you're in the area, but it doesn't offer much to distinguish it from other Italian restaurants in the city. It's a solid choice for a casual night out, but if you're looking for something truly special, you may want to explore other options in the area. Just okay, but not outstanding.

Yelp
Sorella might just be my favorite spot for Italian food in Milwaukee. I had a spritz and split the vodka pasta and D'Angelo pizza with a friend on their patio. The D'Angelo pizza, with its vodka sauce, mozzarella, roasted peppers, guanciale, and scallions, is truly something you can't find anywhere else in Milwaukee. Sharing a few dishes with a friend is definitely the way to go. The ambiance of the patio, with its charming string lights, adds to the experience, and making a reservation online was a breeze. The service was excellent and the pace was just right. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Stopped in for a birthday dinner and sat outside on the patio. Atmosphere was very nice out there, this is a good date night spot for sure. We both went with pasta options, and while both were good, neither were exceptional or overly noteworthy. Drink menu was probably the highlight for us, lots of different and refreshing options. In addition to a nice local beer selection. For the price I think we were a bit disappointed, but still enjoyed everything. It's a date night spot to try for sure!

Yelp
My daughter and had a delicious dinner in the outdoor tented area and absolutely loved the food, service and ambiance. When our extended family came to town, Sorella elegantly served our party of nine in their restaurant. The outstanding food, service and ambiance was enjoyed by everyone - even the pickiest eaters! I highly recommend Sorella to everyone who wants delicious fresh pastas, pizzas, salads and appetizers all accompanied by a superb wine list and large offering of other drinks.

Yelp
It was too cold outside- heaters don't all work and they don't have the door closed. We waited for 23 minutes for drinks- slow, aloof service- heater ran out- we let the nearest staff member know it ran out. Which turned out to be the owner. And sadly had to make a second request as he came out with the next tables wine instead of a new propane tank. Food was great - but the tent was too cold and service didn't make up for the cold tent.

Yelp
We recently moved to the area and have been here a couple times when we had guests from out of town. Everyone was impressed with the vibe and food. The waitress was very patient and had great recommendations. My favorite was the pork entree and the green bean shishito dish. The pork was so tender and delicious, we definitely want to go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Went here for my birthday dinner. I ordered the asparagus gnocchi. It was so fresh and soft. But far the best gnocchi i have ever had. My bf ordered the cavetelli with monday sauce. It was also very fresh and delicious topped with ricotta. Service was fast and our waitress was very attentive. The only disappointment was that the reservation specifically stated we were celebrating a birthday and requested a birthday dessert and we didnt get one. We were offered the dessert menu and so we ordered it ourselves. Upon seeing the pictures posted we saw many birthday cakes given so not sure what happened with our reservation. Overall a great experience with service and delicious food.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at my recent visit to Sorella. To start, I booked my reservation online before they opened and it was super easy and efficient, and my table was able to sit right away upon arrival. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, and the food selection was excellent. I got the vodka pasta and it was delicious! I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.

Yelp
Not only did the yellow building caught my attention, glad the food was tasty. The bday guy & I shared the cheesy chicken meatballs & shrimp-scampi antipasti... & the huge Nutella calzone! Everything was yummy & filling. Grazie

Yelp
Grabbed an outdoor seat upon the recommendation of a barkeep in South Milwaukee. Lovely experience, great food, and the tiramisu is next level fantastic. The Anodyne coffee went perfectly with it. Such a fantastic and romantic evening. And the most impressive thing all night was the front of house lead. He gently but emphatically let the table next to us (who had finished their dinner before we were even seated and were still there when we ordered dessert) that others were waiting for their space. If you have gotten this far, please note that tables at restaurants like these function on a 90-minute timeline. Dawdling past your time means reduced revenue and experience for everyone who comes after you. Oh yes I *did* say that.

Yelp
Great spot for date night! We made a reservation and were seated right away. Our server was very nice and checked in frequently. Food came out faster than expected. The chicken piccata meatballs were delicious. The portion sizes for our main dishes were very generous, so we had left overs. Both dishes were great! The espresso martini was a little creamy, which was amazing. We were too full for dessert but definitely want to try something next time!

Yelp
Wow. My first dining experience in Milwaukee is off and running. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. The atmosphere is perfect. Started with the Kale Caesar...one of my favorite twists on a traditional Caesar's. It was perfect. Next was the . I ordered the sausage and mushroom and added pepperoni. A must try!
google avatar

Izzy B.

Yelp
Food: We had an incredible three course meal! Started with the snap peas, octopus, burrata and kale ceasar salad. And wow the combo was great, hands down recommend the kale ceasar salad and the burrata, which comes with a delicious bread. For main our table had the cavatelli pasta, rigatoni pasta, chicken parmesan and pepperoni pizza. The rigatoni blew us away, and the pizza had the perfect crunch in the crust. We ended our meal with the olive oil cake and the nutella calzone, and WOW we were talking about the calzone way after we finished it. Service: Fast & kind service! Great recs from our server. Ambiance: The outdoor patio was perfect for a summer evening.

Yelp
Made dinner reservations Wednesday night. We got two appetizers, the Arancini Mortadella and Fritti de Mare. Both were just okay. For my main dish I got the Gnocchi Genovese which was very tasty and I really enjoyed the short rib and onion ragu. I tried the Cavatelli with Monday Sauce and I didn't really like the sauce; it was very thick and the flavor reminded me of pizza sauce. Otherwise, I had a good experience dining here.
google avatar

Yelp
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with my pasta the last time I came here. The noodles were a bit underdone, and the sauce was lacking in quantity and a bit of flavor. It was still tasty, but I've had many vodka pastas (one of my favorite dishes), and this one was underwhelming. That being said, I have been here one other time and had a really nice experience! So I'm definitely going to come back at some point and maybe try something new!

Yelp
The experience started off well with the reservation process. I do appreciate restaurants that have online bookings. The location is off a busy road, but we were able to find parking off one of the side streets. The restaurant is nice with a mix of modern and historic feel. I checked in, and we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and helpful. I was a little worried about the limited menu and not finding something I would like... I was proven wrong. For appetizers, we had sausage and mushroom pizza, the octopus, and the arancini. The mushroom pizza was good and something I would order again, but the crust could have been a little more crisp. The octopus was cooked well and not at all chewy. The arancini was OK. What was really good were their pastas, and I really liked the Porterhouse steak special. I usually have my steak medium rare, probably more towards the rare side, and it was cooked perfectly. While the portion was made for sharing and could be shared between two to three people, I did take it down myself. The Porterhouse special came with three sides, and out of those sides, I could choose between half order of their pasta dishes. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka and Cavatelli with 'Monday Sauce' are excellent. Another person at my table had the Veal Chop, which was cooked well, and the sauce was a perfect blend of having flavor but not overpowering. The Duroc Pork Chop was also cooked well but would be a bottom on the list compared to the other dishes. The Summer Gnocchi was also good. The gnocchi was not as dense as others I have had. If you prefer more dense gnocchi. Pretty much everything we had was made well with quality ingredients. It was a nice atmosphere and great food. Highly recommend it and someplace I would go to again. It is a pricey place, so one that could be reserved for a special night out.

Yelp
This review of Sorella is long overdue. I've been 3 or so times now and every time Sorella just crushes it. Food, yes, it's all about the food and here's about everything we've tried so far... The pepperoni pizza with spicy honey is just one of my favorite pizzas in town. The Bomba calamari is some of the best calamari around. The calamari are strips so chunky and meaty laid out on a bed of spicy tomato sauce. I was seriously impressed with that appetizer. The wood roasted beets salad is OMG freaking amazing! One of the best salads and most unique flavor profiles I've had in a while. Sorella also has a T-bone steak that is massive and deserves to be split that is also cooked to perfection. Top all that food off with some unique desserts like the flourless chocolate and peanut cake or the banana panna cotta and you're talking nothing but love here! We will be back as Sorella is just an all-around solid place to get fed. We typically sit at the bar and enjoy the company of the bartender along with solid cocktails. They can whip up just about whatever you crave!

Trinity K.

Yelp
Food was AMAZING. Ordered takeout and the service was good. The ambiance and vibe of the restaurant was neat
google avatar

Carrie L.

Yelp
Underwhelming. I'd heard many good reviews about Sorella, so I was happy to visit the restaurant. The interior is very warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, I was not impressed by anything we ordered. We got a main and a pasta dish, and both lacked flavor other than salt or sugar, and the pasta was overcooked. Our server was very pleasant, but there are better Italian restaurants in town at this price point.
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
Best Napoli style pizza we've had in MKE. The crust was so so good. Outdoor seating nice, but the gravel makes the chairs sit a bit funny. Service is excellent. Our new go to

Yelp
delicious birthday dinner for my wonderful mother tonight! Really sweet that the waitress brought out one of the desserts with a lit candle for her to blow out. I always appreciate a birthday candle! We sat out on the covered patio, which was toasty by the fire. It was a beautiful space. My Mom ordered the amatriciana without meat. She was torn between that and the broccolini but decided on this one because she wanted red sauce. The spice level was good and not too spicy, which she struggles with sometimes like when we get Thai food haha. My Dad got the chicken parmigiana, which came with spaghetti. He liked it but it didn't blow him away. It's hard to go wrong with chicken parm! For the table we started with the Arancini alla nerano & the chicken piccata meatballs. IM OBSESSED. I would seriously go back just for these apps and a drink! The Arancini were so creamy & crispy. The meatballs were perfectly lemony. I could have drank the sauce I swear. YUM. Must order. Another must order is the Nutella calzone! It was a massive portion and did not disappoint. Be careful not to burn yourself though.. the chocolate is piping hot. If we had known the size before ordering we would have passed on the other dessert (which I would recommend you do as well!) Lastly, my partner and I split two pasta entrees-- the gnocchi and the alla vodka. The gnocchi was good with the lamb and veggie combination but personally I prefer my gnocchi a bit crispier. The alla vodka was also good with the spicy breadcrumbs on top, but I feel like I could have made something similar at home.

Yelp
I usually reserve five star reviews for the best in category and the best Italian restaurant in Milwaukee is Tenuta's for both the food quality and consistently good service. And yet, the food here is excellent and the service was exemplary. And the waiter said "Kill Caesar!" when he brought the salad. Well maybe it was "kale Caesar," but that wouldn't be Shakespeare so I think it was the former. They have some very good wood fire pizza, with set combinations of ingredients so I hesitated to ask for an additional topping. I asked the waitress to go ask the chef what he thought about adding anchovies to the ramp pizza special and he approved so that's what I got and it was quite a good experience. The waitress was young but good in an old fashioned way, she paid attention, didn't rush, didn't interrupt, was very prompt and competent. It's a very nice space, very attractive and they have actual hat racks right near the door so I didn't forget my hat. Yes, I'm so old, I take off my hat to eat indoors. The Chief of Staff got a delicious artichoke gnocchi, which I know how to write but really don't know how to pronounce. Kill Caesar!

Yelp
Beautiful place for a nice Italian meal! I had been wanting to try Sorella for some time now and finally had the excuse to go for a friend's birthday celebration. Their menu is on the smaller side (which is why it took me so long to come try Sorella), but it really is the best of the best when it comes to the options they do have! Our table shared the Carciofi (roasted artichoke hearts) to start, and we all raved about the delicious bread that it was served with. I opted for their authentic wood-fired pizza as my entree while my friends enjoyed various pastas. Everyone was impressed with the food! We ordered a few cannolis to finish off our meal -- which I highly recommend saving room for! Can't wait to come back and try out their beautiful patio or bar seating as well!

Yelp
Hands down my favorite authentic Italian restaurant in the MKE area. Coming from an Italian family I'm very picky when it comes to spaghetti sauce and Italian food, but Sorella passes the test for me! This was our second time here and I've recommended Sorella to friends and family and they all leave impressed as well! Both times I ordered their Cavatelli with 'Monday Sauce' Broken Meatball, Sausage & Pork Ragu, Ricotta because it's just like the sauce my family makes and or you'd find in my hometown of Iron Mountain, MI and I've yet to find anything comparable in Green Bay or Milwaukee, other than here! We also ordered their homemade bread for an appetizer which I highly recommend and of course, dessert being a cannoli! Large drink menu as well. Reasonable prices for authentic Italian food! HIGHLY recommend!

Yelp
Stopped by on a cold winter's eve to warm up with some cocktails and pizza! We stopped by around 7pm on a Sunday to find the dining room full and only open to those with reservations. Not to worry! They have a large bar that had plenty of seating where my dining companion and I enjoyed a comfortable evening. We started things off with cocktails. I enjoyed their paper plane cocktail (amaro, aperol, bourbon, and lemon) while my dining companion opted for their take on a classic manhattan. Both cocktails were delish! I ordered their kale salad, which came with the unusual addition of celery and parmesan crisps. It was quite fresh and tasty. My dining companion and I shared an order of their crispy fried brussels sprouts (amazing) and their broccolini pizza (ricotta, fresh mozz, broccolini). The brussels were served with a sprinkling of balsamic soaked raisins, which were a delicious addition to perfectly crispy and delicious sprouts. The pizza crust was just the right texture (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside) and the toppings were unique and lovely. The bartender was friendly and attentive! Get to it!

Yelp
Very attentive staff and beautiful atmosphere indoors and outside in the summer. Seating at the bar tables looks intimate as well.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Our server, Rochelle was wonderful! She was familiar with both the drinks and menu. The sparkling wines were a nice start, as were the mussels and arancini. Pasta was great and the veal divine. Throw in a lovely dessert and complimentary lemon cello and orange cello and it was worth every penny! Will return to try more!

Yelp
Came here with my girlfriend for a pre-Valentines Day dinner. Entered being worried we wouldn't get a spot despite a reservation bc the Open Table reservations made it seem like it was slammed. Got there at 5:45 for the place to easily accommodate 2 plus many more. Started off with the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Can't believe how much you get for such a fancy, elegant restaurant. They were delicious & hearty. I got the Squid Ink Risotto with Shrimp bc it was a special. It was something that seemed amazing since risotto is hard to find at restaurants. The taste was absolutely amazing. My girlfriend got the house special Pasta Verde (or something). It also tasted very good, not the largest portion size but she didn't finish it, got a carry out container. The ambience of the place also adds to the 5* food. Great interior decor. Prices are on the higher end for an entree but I went in knowing that & being perfectly acceptable paying a steep price for a great Valentine's Day dinner with A++ food. The pizzas looked great too & those are very reasonable priced.

Yelp
I've ordered to go from here and the food is always good. The pepperoni pizza with spicy honey is so good! Find lot made the decision to eat here and it was great. The ambiance is wonderful. The chicken piccata meatballs are so good. I may have eaten the sauce as a soup. The chicken Parmesan was delicious. Only complaint is that if you get the potatoes you might want a sauce with it. Loved my gnocchi dish. Definitely get dessert. The flourless cake brownie dessert thing I got was delicious and massive. I have never had leftovers of dessert before so it was fun to have extra to take home. Our server was great. Friendly and efficient. Would for sure come back.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go in the bayview area! It's right off the Main Street and has a nice outdoor patio as well as a lot of room inside. The wait staff is very friendly and the service is relatively fast. They have a lot of wine and beer options. A go to for me is the peroni on tap. They also have homemade limoncello (yum!) I have been here multiple times and have always loved what I have gotten. There pizza is fantastic! It is wood fired so it is pretty light but packs a lot of flavor. I've also heard good things about all their pasta dishes (have no tried myself). I would recommend trying their chicken picante meatballs. Absolutely fantastic! Overall great place for a date night or special occasion as I would say their price rages from $20-40

Yelp
We came out to Sorella for dinner before heading out for the evening. Their outdoor patio was gorgeous and unlike most patios, the chairs were super comfortable! The service was good but we all felt like the server was dismissive once we stated that we wouldn't be drinking there, but she was still kind. My sister and I split the vodka pasta and broccolini pizza and both were delicious! The vodka pasta has spicy breadcrumbs on top that make the dish! Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Yelp
We had such a nice time here as a large group of eight. We made a reservation for Sunday evening and we're sat immediately upon our (early!) arrival. It was very loud inside fyi but still able to hear our table. Every employee was very nice and our server was knowledgeable and attentive . The wine menu is a nice size with a nice variety. The cocktail menu has common items but also jazzy unique cocktails. They food menu has an abundance of gluten free and vegan items too! I didn't get pictures of all the food but we had three appetizers which was plenty for the table. They were roasted broccoli, green beans, and artichoke cacio e pepe. All of them were delicious but the broccoli was a fave as well as the cherry pepper tahini with the green beans. I'd put that on so many things! To eat we had the fra diavolo pizza, pepperoni and sausage pizza, cavatelli with Monday sauce, spaghetti, chicken cacciatore, baked mussels, and pizzeria chopped salad. Everyone enjoyed their food but some good and bad mixed in: the baked mussels were quite bready, the chicken cacciatore was a little bland, the cavatelli would've been delicious had it been served warmer than room temp and the fra diavolo pizza was super floppy from all the sauce and needed a bit more cheese. Still overall a very tasty meal at a place I'd recommend for groups and couples alike!

Yelp
My partner and I wanted to try this restaurant for our anniversary after seeing the great reviews. I feel validated seeing the other (somehow rare) low reviews that describe the same experience we had. The cocktail we had was the Hotel Cristina and it was just okay. We had the rigatoni alla vodka for our dinner and that was pretty bad. The noodles were clearly not made in-house. Fine, whatever. But the sauce was very bland despite being way overly salted. Our server was very nice but I don't understand why we were seated directly next to another couple when the restaurant was 80% empty for the entire time we were there. The restaurant was pretty cute but everything just felt cheap. If this restaurant was honest about what it was, mediocre, I wouldn't give it such a low review. But the very high prices (comparable to Onesto which is fantastic) are completely unacceptable for the low quality. I'm convinced all the people giving high reviews simply haven't had good Italian or they just love bland, expensive food.

Yelp
Family dinner at Sorella! It was all of our first time eating here! We reserved a table for 6:30 and were seated right away on the patio as requested. The fire was nice and toasty on a cooler evening. The service was friendly with frequent check ins and the food came out surprisingly very quickly which was nice and hot! Now lets talk about the food! YUM. We enjoy sharing plates so I got to try a little bit of everything. The appetizers were delicious and i'd come back for them again. My pasta (rigatoni) was so good, the bread crumbs added crunch and flavor, clean plate club. Everything was delicious all around. Food 5/5 for my taste buds, however pasta seemed a little pricey. I got the cocktail called Hotel Cristina it was refreshing! And for dessert we got the Nutella Calzone which was also mouth watering, loved the bread!

Yelp
The veal and chicken parm dishes were tasty. The restaurant was a comfortable and fun setting. The staff were helpful. The tiramisu was one of the best I have had.

Yelp
Loved everything about this experience! Came with a friend at 5pm when they opened. Loved the space - so pretty and open! Started with a cocktail and some appetizers. Make sure to get the artichokes; they are amazing. I loved the pasta I ordered and the dirty martini. Finished with flourless chocolate cake. I was so full and the price didn't break the bank. Our server was kind and attentive. I will definitely return. Great spot to have in Bay View!

Yelp
Pizza was really good! Specially the crust. Best part for me. The center of the pizza gets very soggy which sucked but over all very delicious. Chicken Parmesan was good. I would not recommend the flourless desserts.. very flowery consistency. Just falls apart when you cut into it. Cheese cake was great. Margaritas were very tasty. Place is pretty pricey.. do have a nice outside area to eat.

Yelp
Went here on a date. It's a modern decors in a old building, the Kinn building. Walking in it's a high ceiling and lots of close together tables. Then there's an adjoining room with the bar and more tables. Reservations are a must. Probably not the best place for a large group. Pasta is great. Worth the $2 extra from a lesser Italian place. The special was "an easy recipe" no easy recipe- or complicated tasted like that.

Yelp
We visited Sorella for a weeknight dinner in August. The experience was excellent, with good service and delicious food. It was easy to make a reservation on their website for a table on the patio for our group of four. The servers were masked and the tables well-spaced, which we appreciated. Our group started with the blistered shishito peppers, which was a nice appetizer. It's always fun to see them on a menu. For mains, we had: Pepperoni Pizza - my favorite thing we tried. The wood-fired crust was delicious and the hot honey was so unique! Definitely would get this again, and would highly recommend. Mushroom Pizza - delicious crust, food sauce, overall really nice. Would have liked to see the whole pizza covered in a layer of arugula, I'm a fan! Eggplant Parmigiana - I didn't try this one but it looked delicious and our friend liked it. Especially the burrata! Shrimp Scampi - I didn't try this one either but our friend enjoyed it. I will say the portion vs. price seemed a little off. Housemade Cannoli - I never order dessert but heard these were delicious. So good! Definitely order one. (They're a nice size, we shared one between two people.) The limoncello was also really nice and a good way to cap off dinner. Sorella is a great addition to Bay View's restaurants, and I look forward to going back! (I'll be dreaming of that pepperoni pizza in the meantime.)

Yelp
Sorella is a culinary gem that deserves nothing less than five stars! The pizza here is an absolute delight, with a perfectly crisp crust and a mouthwatering array of toppings that make each bite a flavor explosion. The pasta dishes are equally exceptional, cooked to perfection and bursting with rich, authentic Italian flavors, and the Chianti wine selection adds a delightful touch of sophistication to the dining experience. Sorella is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable Italian culinary journey.

Yelp
Recently worked with Paul to place a catering order for an event we had yesterday. He was very responsive, accommodating and easy to work with. The chef gave us their recommendations for our group based on a few things I said we would like. We have more than enough food and were happy to have leftovers because everything was delicious. The rigatoni was by far our favorite. The Gnocchi was melt in your mouth good. I can't wait to go for dinner. They were very accommodating to dietary restrictions and each guest has plenty of options to choose from.

Yelp
A fantastic spot with delicious food, amazing staff, and a classic yet laid back atmosphere. I came to Sorella on a Thursday night with a group of 10. We had a 7pm reservation. With a group reservation we were required to spend $40 each on food & drinks. To start we tried the broccoli salad, mussels, rice balls, and brussel sprouts. The broccoli salad and mussels were surprisingly my favorites! The broccoli salad was served warm with a delicious dressing that surprised everyone at the table. The mussels were baked to perfection and were stunning. As for drinks there was a menu with their classic cocktails as well as seasonal/rotational cocktails. They all looked wonderful! We all tried a cocktail or two which everyone enjoyed. As for the main course we had orders of the get the chicken parmigiana, sea bass, pizza, spaghetti, and baked chicken. Some of the sides included the creamy polenta, salad, spaghetti, and crispy potatoes. The baked chicken was spectacular with crispy skin yet not over cooked. The sauce really made the dish. It had so many flavors with a little bit of a kick. The polenta was a bit creamier than I am used to but it was still delicious nonetheless. When the crispy potatoes came out I was surprised to see that they resembled thick cut chips instead of the roasted potatoes I was envisioning. I wish I took a photo for you all. Regardless those who had the crispy potatoes enjoyed them. To end the meal we all had some dessert. We ordered some cannolis and cheesecake. The cheesecake was a favorite around the table. As someone who isn't a fan of cheesecake in general I opted for the cannoli and was pleasantly surprised to see the filling stuffed with chocolate and cherries. This cannoli has to be the best cannoli I've ever had! The flavor combination was unforgettable. The filling to shell ratio was perfect and the shell itself was crispy through and through. Overall, Sorella is a fanatic place for any special occasion, date night, or just a nice dinner. I didn't hear a single bad thing from anyone the whole night. Everyone was raving about the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Sorella is one of the best restaurants I've tried in Milwaukee. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND giving this place a try!!! I will be raving about my time here for a good while. I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
We chose Sorella for a recent date night and left happy! This Italian restaurant is featured inside the Kinn Guesthouse in Bay View and offers an extremely enjoyable atmosphere. It's totally stylish modern decor, fun wallpaper, and open-aired kitchen to view, high ceilings, and an overall design that incorporates the old building. Though we sat inside in the bar area, I would definitely look forward to returning to sit on their outside patio. It's very spacious, with covered areas available, and twinkly tree lights offering a great vibe. You'll find a booklet full of wine options here, as well as plentiful tasty cocktails and brews on offer. My husband very much enjoyed his Negroni gin drink that provided plenty of that the sweet vermouth taste he likes. Our server realized I was pregnant and offered the option of a mocktail (not listed on the menu). I was happy to take him up on this offer! He brought me a tasty lemon, basil, and mint concoction that was not too sweet. I'll be sure to get that vodka added in one day ;) On to the food! Date night obvi means we're getting an app to start and damn did we love the Eggplant Parmigiana. It's merely eggplant that's layered with marinara and burrata cheese. Try it - you won't be disappointed. Speaking of disappointed though, we weren't big fans of the Escarole salad. It's ingredients sounds delish (figs, radishes, fennel, lemon vinaigrette, crispy chickpeas) but it ended up being kind of bland and dry. The real winner of the night was the stone fired pizza! We opted for the special, which was a twist on the classic margarita. We both noted that the crust was perfection... nice and thin, doughy yet crisp all at the same time. And you can't go wrong with lots of moz, melty tomato slices, basil, and parm. We'll be back to dig into the pasta menu sometime!

Yelp
If you're looking for drive though dining- is pretty good. Food is great. Ambiance great. What's not great: being told you need to leave your table after an hour and a half with good friends bc they need to flip it out for the next group. Friend made reservations on Open table. We found out AFTER being asked to leave that , yes, they do have a parking meter on your table. You can only stay for 90 minutes ( less time for less people -beware). if you have four people. They will tell you to leave the restaurant after 90 minutes (1 hour if you only have two people). Stupidly we assumed we could visit when friend made reservations so we were all somewhat horrified when we were asked to leave after 90 minutes. Friend said that there was something written on open table about this -to be fair- but who in the world does this? Friday night dinner. Friends we haven't seen in months. Drinks. Food. All. 90 minutes - "YOU'RE OUTTA HERE!!" So off we went and took this place off the list forever. Can't do a place that kicks you out after 90 minutes. Btw- line had 2-3 groups/tables. They weren't lining people up around the block. Give them a cocktail and make everyone happy. Ironic bc their website says "Visit " in big bold view when you open it up. So- visit. But just for a limited time. If your plan on zipping on and out- sure. Go. If you want to visit -Avoid this place bc they will kick you when your meter is empty. Here is the language on open table Open Table: "Your table will be reserved for 1 hour 15 minutes for parties of up to 2; 1 hour 30 minutes for parties of up to 4; 2 hours for parties of up to 6; and 2 hours 30 minutes for parties of 7+."
