We arrived for our 5:30 reservation at Sorellina Cucina Italiana, got our dinner around 6:30, and left by 7:10. The inside of the restaurant was nice, clean, and had a cute style. It wasn't crowded when we got there, but it picked up over the next hour or two. Overall, the service was a bit slow, but since we had appetizers and were enjoying each other's company, the wait wasn't too bad.
Our waiter answered all of our questions about the menu and was very knowledgeable about the dishes, which we appreciated. We started with drinks--two of the girls ordered Mimi's Tiramisu and one got the Dirty Bambino. From what I heard, everyone enjoyed them. While bringing our appetizers, my sister's drink was accidentally dropped on her and the glass broke on the table. Mistakes happen. They offered to comp her a new drink, which she declined, and nothing else was offered beyond that.
We had the Mimi's Ca Coots, which was really good, along with their complimentary bread and butter. For our entrees, we each ordered our own since we had read that portions were small, but we still ended up taking leftovers home. We didn't completely indulge in our meals, mostly because the food didn't quite hit the mark for us. My Campanelle Al Pesto was just okay--it tasted a bit bland, though I did like that you could add protein. I added shrimp for an additional charge, and it came with three.
The olive oil cake they brought out was definitely the favorite part of the meal. It was dense, moist, and packed with flavor--big enough for the five of us to share.
When the check came, it was for a different table, so we had to wait a bit longer while that got fixed. Overall, it was a decent experience. The restaurant is still relatively new, so they're probably working through some adjustments.
