The 26 Best Restaurants In São Paulo - São Paulo - The Infatuation

"With three hyped chefs behind it, Sororoca Bar is the star of São Paulo’s burgeoning Amazonian food scene. It’s steps away from the thumping Vila Madalena nightlife, but the front almost feels like a laid-back beach bar. Menu highlights are the grilled fish mains, including a huge slab of sororoca, or Spanish mackerel, meaty and blackened on the grill and served alongside corn cuscuz and pirão, a fish and cassava purée. Seriously, it's so good they named the restaurant after it. As for drinks, the cocktails, made with Amazonian fruits like seriguela, a sweet-sour cousin of the cashew, are stellar." - tome morrissy swan

Beautiful restaurant & cool vibe. I got the ceviche, gyoza & açaí fish bun. The ceviche was delicious. The gyoza & fish bun were good but not great.

I had a great time at Sororoca Bar. Food is really interesting. We had the squid causa (awesome), fish crudo (interesting, but not really outstanding) and fish bao (awesome as well) as starters. As main dish, we shared two grilled fish of the day (prejereba and xareu fin) with white rice, moqueca stew, farofa (fried manioc flour), and jambu pirão (fish stew with manioc flour). The fish was outstanding, as well as the pirão. Jambu is a leave from North Brazil that brings lots of flavor, but also some numbness. There is a cool ambience, very relaxed. Service was pretty good, even though our waiter was still in training.

What a hidden gem! This cozy restaurant offers an authentic taste of Brazilian seafood cuisine, with beautifully crafted dishes bursting with flavor. Every bite was delightful and paired perfectly with a refreshing glass of Riesling or a classic caipirinha. A must-visit for anyone seeking a unique and flavorful dining experience!
