Standout Spots for Brunch in Savannah

"Longtime Congress Street centerpiece Sorry Charlie’s Oyster Bar recently debuted a brunch menu. Oysters are, of course, on the menu, along with classics spun with Southern flare. Ten-grain pancakes, egg white frittatas, crab cake benedicts, and more go down easy with a full-spice bloody mary featuring Sorry Charlie’s own mix. Enjoy them all at the bar, even with strangers." - Kiki Dy

8 Best Seafood Restaurants in Savannah

"Sorry Charlie’s is one of the most reliable, amiable places to get to know the Southern culinary canon, from hush puppies to oyster po’boys. The restaurant offers slightly cheffier takes on the classics without changing them fundamentally; say, adding pan sauce to seared snapper or mussels and clams to the low-country boil. Shrimp and grits are finished with sherry cream sauce; and don’t sleep on the dressed-up oysters, like Rockefeller and Casino. The bar can get a bit rowdy, but the dining room will feel more restrained." - Sam Worley

As an Oyster lover, these are some of the very best I've ever had! We had a great experience at Sorry Charlie’s! The chef’s selection of eighteen oysters was the perfect way to start the meal as well as try a mix of everything they have to offer and paired great with our dirty martinis. We ordered the Po’ Boy sandwich which had a great crunch and bold seasoning. Another standout was the Salmon BLT. The salmon was cooked just right and paired with the BLT. We also tried the steak which was full of flavor! Additionally we tried the Cod and Shrimp Tacos. I would honestly pass on the tacos in comparison to the other entrees we tried. What shocked me most was the real star of the table being the Savannah red rice. It was uniquely flavorful and everyone at the table loved it as a side dish! Overall, for my first meal in Savannah, I would recommend this spot to anyone I know and will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Spare of a moment stop at Sorry Charlie’s Oyster bar. Nice location in City Market, good food and yummy drinks. The first night we had dinner here and ordered my first oyster shooter. I liked it and wanted more. The second night, we went again to kill some time before our dinner at the Lady & Sons, to the second floor to the tiki bar where we has a couple of more drinks like a mock lemonade and a banana drink which I don’t recall the name. They also have a rooftop bar but it was very hot and humid so it wasn’t our vibe that night Definitely make it a point to stop here, the scenery is lively for sure.

We enjoyed some happy hour seafood after our trolley tour of Savannah. The raw oysters were excellent, but the cooked ones were slightly disappointing. The peel and eat shrimp were very good as well. Would have been 5 stars except for the inconsistency of the cooked oysters. They were supposed to be 2 of each and they were not the same.

Google
Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar serves the best raw oysters in Savannah! They sometimes offer a wide variety, but on evenings like tonight, they only have three types available — and they're still delicious! A few people were disappointed because they ordered salads, soups, and other dishes, but we always go there just for the oysters, and they never disappoint. The service is consistently excellent, with all the staff providing top-notch hospitality.

Started off a little rocky - we went up to the rooftop bar on a Saturday right before lunch was supposed to start at 1pm post brunch. Ordered a drink and then was told lunch was going to be pushed until 2pm. Was disappointed and couldn’t wait that long for food, so finished our drink and went back to the main dining floor downstairs. After that hiccup we had to wait to be seated since most people were leaving the rooftop after being told food was not being served for over an hour. Sat and waited at the raw bar counter and the shucker there gave us some oysters on the house to try. That convinced us to stay and I’m happy we did. The table service was phenomenal and the food was spectacular. Drinks were also amazing. Got a few plates to share with a friend and we loved it all. Only complaint was the sauce was very spicy with the first tacos. We loved the sauce used for the crab cakes and they should use the same for the tacos. Also more sauce for the crab cakes would have been great as well but otherwise service, food and drinks were overall amazing!

Housed in the oldest commercial building in Savannah, this seafood house is the real deal. You'll be greeted as you enter the front door with huge mounds of several varieties of fresh oysters from all over the best area. Prime are the local proprietary 'Tybee Salt Bombs'. Fresh fish of all varieties prepared in "nouveau Southern" style will delight. Meat, pasta, and other selections round out the thoughtful offerings. Recommend the boiled peanuts 🥜 😋 fresh oysters, she crab soup and shrimp 'n grits!! Happy Hour is M-Thurs. 4-6p. $1, $2 per oyster and $3 local beers! Outstanding 🏆.

Google
Probably our favorite experience spending a long weekend here. Our server, Jackson, was awesome and we stayed longer just because of him. Grabbed a seafood tower, a few rounds of local beers & mixed drinks, and watched the sun set while some kind of car show happened below us. Great time. No reservations required for the roof, first come first serve, the elevator is immediately to the right when you walk in the front door. Got some to-go drinks before heading to another rooftop bar on the river walk, too, Savannah gets it

Google
We visited The Bamboo Room and it did not disappoint! The oysters were perfection, fresh and delicious. The drink we ordered was called Forbidden Sin— it was one of the best cocktails I have ever sipped; The bartender was helpful in choosing just the right drink and checking on us. A must-stop when visiting Savannah.

Yelp
Yes, yes, and more yes! After a long day of exploring Savannah, my friend and I were on the hunt for some delicious, "treat yo'self" food that wouldn't break the bank, and Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar was exactly what we were looking for. Even without a reservation, we were seated quickly in the bar area, which turned out to be a perfect spot for catching a bit of football while we ate. The atmosphere was lively yet laid-back, and the service was prompt and friendly. We decided to share a couple of dishes, including the oyster sampler, which featured an incredible selection of some of the freshest oysters I've ever had. Each variety was really fresh, packed with flavor, and expertly shucked. I loved the different sauces that were served with the oyster. We also tried the shrimp and grits, which were creamy, flavorful, and had just the right amount of spice. One highlight of Sorry Charlie's is their rooftop area, which we didn't have time to visit but heard great things about so it's definitely on my list for next time! Whether you're in the mood for fresh seafood, good drinks, or just a fun spot to relax, this place is a must-visit. I have zero complaints and would happily return to Sorry Charlie's anytime. Great food, great vibe, and great service...it's gotta be a Savannah gem!

Yelp
Delicious and plentiful low country boil. One of the best dinners I've had between Charleston, Tampa and Savannah. I've eaten upscale at white tablecloth etc but this was excellent. Food was served quickly but with errors. I ordered a beer and got cider. Wife ordered salad and salmon topping. They forgot the salmon and once reminded brought it out naked to be eaten. Waitress missed but all the food was good.

Yelp
Had an amazing meal here with the family. Absolutely a restaurant I would recommend coming to if you're visiting the Savannah area. Conveniently located two blocks away from River Street, and in a square with many other delicious options to choose from while you are visiting. To start our meal off, we had the steamed muscles and hush puppies. The muscles were served in a beautiful wine sauce with andouille sausage and toasted baguette slices. The wife ordered the seafood and grits, while I ordered the gumbo. Both were very well seasoned and absolutely could not stop eating. The children's menu was your standard affair, with your traditional fingers and fries, burgers etc. My son was not too keen on the fingers, and when I sampled a bite, I too found it way over cooked and super dry. For those who like people watching and being outside, there is patio seating, however, the day we went, it was rather on the humid side and wanted to be on the inside. The restaurant is done well and has a nice modern feel. We sat at a high top counter and the hostess was kind enough to provide a booster seat for my s

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food, great service, and a chill, groovy atmosphere! First, let me start by saying we were supposed to go to Sorry Charlie's for the Thanksgiving Buffet. Due to a lack of clientele signing up, they had to cancel it. So sad. I found out by receiving a credit on my credit card and called to get the scoop--I thought it was a mistake. It's not cool that I wasn't sent a message of some sort. When I called the staff referred me to the manager Rob, who returned my call to explain and apologize. I was bummed that it wasn't a mistake...we were really looking forward to it. They still had a Thanksgiving meal, but it was just by the plate. My guys wanted a buffet so we chose another restaurant venue instead (huge regret). In turn, we went here anyway for a meal the day before Thanksgiving. On that note...let me tell you, the food is so good...so good!!! Oh My Gosh...I am so completely bummed the buffet didn't work out. So, if you are reading this...pay attention if you are looking for a buffet next year...sign up early so they can "do it"! If the food they have on a daily basis on their regular menu is that good, I can only imagine what the buffet would be like. Plus, the Chef loves Thanksgiving and really wants this to happen. I'm already looking forward to next year in hopes they can do it. Knowing how good our meals were and the appetizers makes us salivate thinking about it! The menu may seem limited to some, but all items are perfected. The portions are ample and the prices are fair. The service is friendly and fast as well. In addition, they have a wonderful bar for just grabbing drinks and light bites. I really want to give a shout-out to the manager Rob for being so kind to us. I really do wish the buffet would have worked out, but in hindsight...we should have just done the plated meals with a few extras. Live and learn! Shout out to the Chef too for creating such delicious recipes! Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. I know we'll be back!!! Extra Notes: Sorry Charlie's is located on the historic Ellis Square. It is within walking distance of several hotels in the area and the Riverwalk. Moreover, there are garages nearby and limited street parking.

Yelp
Stopped in specifically for a drink and ended up ordering a dozen oysters and the shrimp cocktail. Service was top notch, love a waiter who writes down not only the oysters we had, but ones we should try as well. Recommended 3 amazing, different types, and we loved them all. Tiki drinks were excellent. Shrimp cocktail was seasoned well. I'd come back for a full proper meal.

Yelp
This is a bar with a great view. You can see most of downtown. The drinks were strong and they are child friendly during the day. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable.

Yelp
I've been here a few times before because it's conveniently located near work. If you're coming on your lunch hour be mindful that it can get extremely busy in here. It was a much slower day when my party arrived. I already knew what I wanted to order so I didn't need to browse the menu. I opened for the shrimp po boy and asked that my bread be lightly toasted as it's usually too crunchy for my liking. When my food arrived the first thing I noticed was the bread was not toasted at all. They basically pulled the bread from the pack and made my sandwhich. The second thing I noticed was the fries tasted old, as if they had been sitting for some time. Our server was polite but hard to find. When the food arrived she asked if we needed anything and as my guests was speaking she simply walked away. I'm sure she was ignoring us, but couldn't hear over the music. We waited roughly 5 minutes before she came back over. Overall it was an okay visit. I won't be in a rush to come back.

Yelp
I sat at the oyster bar (no wait there around late lunch early dinner). Other part of the restaurant was packed and busy and a little bit of a wait. I got the oyster sampler and another dozen my favorites and 2 Jonah Crab Claws (served chilled, meat was sweet and perfectly cooked). Food came out at a timely manner. Staff were very friendly and informative with recommendations. Casual restaurant.

Yelp
Every single time I've been to Savannah, I've come here for oysters. They have an amazing platter to try all the oysters. My personal favorites are the James river, but honestly everything tastes amazing. The she crab soup is so decadent and flavorful. I've tried both the Bloody Mary and mezcal oyster shots and both I loved. If you like a Smokey flavor , try the mezcal one. The entrees are super filling and delish. I won't stop coming here. The ambience is just so beautiful, they have a roof top seating arrangement as well for when the weather is good. The staff is friendly and warm. Food arrived soon.

Yelp
I make it a mission to visit this gem everytime I visit Savannah. The staff is always pleasant, quick and attentive. I always opt to sit at the oyster bar and chat with this one sweet older gentleman that works behind he bar. He appreciates a quality oyster just as much as I do. There drinks are delish. I'm a French 75 kind of gal. And I make it a mission to stop here for a dozen oysters. It is kind of a popular spot with the upstairs bar. 10/10

Yelp
Another popular stop on our travels to Savannah during the afternoon and catching them during Happy Hour may end your day... Sitting in the main bar area, they've got an extensive bar, TV's and the vibe is great. We walked upstairs to the roof initially, but it was too hot of day to try and enjoy so we headed back downstairs. Lots of different types of oysters are available (+6) but for Happy Hour, they have the house Oyster for $1 (raw or steamed) on special along with some Beers & bubbly to compliment. We did about 4 dozen in all over the course of 90 mins while we soaked in the cool air and drinks. We mixed it up with going with some steamed, then some raw and then it was like, hey, let's just do another round. Our server was great and offered up great feedback not only on the food, but also around the area. Not trying to go all in with food, we got the Hush puppies & added the pimento cheese to help balance all the oysters & cocktails we had. Had to pay a bit more but the cheese $2. Champagne selection was decent for $5 & the Garden Heat margarita was good, but really needed the mezcal floater to take it over the top. It's $3 extra making it a pricey drink, but good. Lots of add-ons +$'s.

Yelp
On my first day in Savannah I was out for a walk and most bars were closed, but I ran across Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar. Walking inside, this felt like a great oyster bar. The service was attentive and I had a great Gin and Tonic. I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Shrimp Po-Boy. The Fried Green Tomatoes came out a little mushy, but still tasted fine. However, the Shrimp Po-Boy tasted great. Perfectly friend shrimp on a soft roll. I love a good Shrimp Po-Boy. If you find yourself in Savannah at an odd time and are in the need of a snack and a cocktail, head over to Sorry Charlie's.

Yelp
Great Oyster Spot. We did a mix of raw oysters and they were fresh and delicious. I also loved the butter garlic and Parmesan roasted oysters. The blackberry bramble with vodka instead of gin was also really good. Fast and friendly service !

Yelp
It was a restaurant near my hotel in beautiful Savannah. It was open until midnight, so my wife and I had a date at 11 pm. The atmosphere was great, and the servers were very friendly to us as tourists. Parking: There was a public parking lot in the basement, and it was inexpensive. There was plenty of parking. Food: We had already eaten dinner elsewhere and had the Chef's Sampler menu for two. This is a collection of raw oysters from James River, Blackberry, Murder Point, Boomamoto, Little Bitches, and Great White. It was great to experience these six different oysters. Service: The food was delivered quickly. The server explained the sampler menu in detail and a friendly manner. Overall: I liked that the restaurant is located in a tourist area of Savannah, is easy to get to, and has delicious seafood. I recommend it to my friends if we revisit Savannah.

Yelp
This place was neat but I learned I don't care for oysters and the waiter seemed unwilling to spend time with us walking us through the process, despite our obvious desire to chat about oysters and how best to enjoy them; he was clearly not busy but also just not a people person. Not downright rude, but not super friendly, which stood out as most of the servers we encountered in Savannah were the opposite.
google avatar

Chris V.

Yelp
Very good place for seafood. I put my crab soup above my hush puppies. Next in line very good was the oysters, then catfish sandwich. Very fast at lunch, had my food in 5 minutes on a busy Saturday. This place looks as it would be fun at night. Will come back for little jack.

Yelp
We took a girls trip to Savannah and oysters were on the list. We did a quick search and decided on sorry Charlie's. This was amazing and the service was outstanding. We got the 12 oyster sampler to try all the oysters and preceded to order two dozen of the ones we loved. Also one must try is the made to order corn bread add honey butter. No need for desert just try that.

Yelp
Anniversary meal during a rain storm. We made the best of it. It's a fun place. Check out the oyster bar, the tiki bar, and everything else. The food was good, nothing amazing. My wife had tacos. I had a shrimp poboy. Eat at the bar. Afterward, we went upstairs. Beautiful view. Awesome place, and we will be back.

Yelp
The oysters are great, paired with what's on tap makes it GRAND! Located close to the hotel and the shops by the river, it was an easy pick for a night of winding down from work. Trendy atmosphere fit for an oyster bar/seafood pub. The staff are friendly and always checking in on our table. Their shrimp and grits are pretty good too! Portions of food are large and, for me, shareable.

Yelp
Late review! We came in during Veterans Day weekend last year on a Saturday. Very busy. We were placed on the waiting list for a table. We decided to go to the roof to have a drink. Loved it up there. There's a little fire pit with a nice view of the city. Very cute. The menu was limited so we decided to wait for our table which wasn't long. We were seated outside which was fine until people outside of the restaurant started smoking. Not the fault of the restaurant so I won't knock them for that. We ordered the oyster sampler and the salmon dish. oysters were good. Salmon was alright. A little overcooked for my liking. Service upstairs and downstairs was fine.

Rusty R.

Yelp
Went here for lunch on a Sunday because honestly it was the first place we went without an hour wait. We were seated at a hightop at the bar area, and it was fine. Not loud or anything. Shrimp & grits was a huge portion and delicious. Hush puppies were ok, and do not waste your time with the $2 "pimento cheese" add-on, as it's about 1.5 oz of shredded cheese not spreadable pimento cheese. I have no idea what they are thinking, but that's a hard no.
google avatar

Christine B.

Yelp
I loved the shrimp poboy here! Best one I've had in a long time. The shrimp were perfectly crispy and the bun wasn't too big or too crunchy. The sauce was solid and there were good tomatoes considering the time of year. I had Mac and cheese on the side and that was good too and a very large portion. We also tried the peel and eat shrimp but they were not nearly as good. The Christmas bar upstairs is cute to hang out and grab a drink while waiting for a table.

Yelp
My wife and I were on a long weekend trip to Savannah and we were in the historic district and this place had great reviews. It was really busy. We sat at the oyster bar and were promptly greeted by our server. I ordered an IPA, which was delish! There was a plethora for oysters ready to be shucked in front of me, but I decided to go with the crab cakes and the shrimp tacos. The ambience was nice and our food came out pretty quick. The shrimp in the tacos were huge and super flavorful and the crab cakes were wonderful. I would recommend going here at least once while in Savannah, there are a ton of good restaurants, but this hit the mark.

Yelp
After craving oysters for weeks before our trip, my boyfriend was excited to stop by Sorry Charlie's for lunch. We arrived at 11:45ish on a Saturday and only had a 10 minute wait, which would have been none if we wanted to sit outside but it was a hot day. For an appetizer, we ordered the oyster sampler. The oysters were full of flavor and we enjoyed each type. I ordered the grilled chicken Caesar salad for my meal and it was good. My boyfriend had the grilled chicken sandwich, which he enjoyed as well. Despite an altercation between a nasty customer and some very kind staff members, the service and overall experience was great. Highly recommend stopping by here for some of the best oysters in Savannah!

Yelp
Each past visit conditions you for the next...at least that is our experience! Today was another affirmation of this being the best, most enjoyable seafood restaurant in the Savannah area! Food and drinks are always great but today, sitting at the bar, we made another friend (we always do). Ben was our server and he was among the best we've had anywhere. Advice on portion size and flavors, check! Efficient and forward thinking about what we might like next? Check. But more than professionalism and being efficient at the bar-tending position, he was exceptionally friendly and personable. While we were praising the savory boiled peanuts he stated the best description of the item: Boiled Peanuts are the Edamame of the south! Makes great sense--and even greater eating! Same as everything we order here it seems.

Yelp
Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Food: 10/10 My friends and I came here for some seafood and we were all very satisfied. I loved the low country boil! I eat low country boil often and this one was quite tasty. I really liked the touch of cajun season they added to it. I highly recommend their oysters! A friend and I split the sampler and every single oyster from the Rockefeller to the Parmesan one were absolutely delicious and bursting with yummy flavors!

Yelp
Visiting for vacation:11/2024 The Food: I really enjoyed the Blue Crab Cakes--they were delicious! I always take a bite before snapping a picture, so you know they were good! The red snapper, on the other hand, was just okay. They were out of the Savannah red rice, so I substituted with risotto, but the cheese was too sharp and didn't pair well with the fish. As for the veggies, I'm particular about how they're cooked, and these weren't quite to my taste; they were undercooked, and the char came across as more burnt than roasted. Overall the dish was pretty! The Atmosphere: Our server, Jackson, was fantastic! He was patient, attentive, and checked in on us regularly. The restaurant does have a fire alarm that whistles occasionally, but it's easy to ignore once you know what it is. We were seated quickly, and the staff was very friendly.

Yelp
**Review of Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar** I recently visited Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The highlight of the night was the food, but that was overshadowed by the service, particularly from the middle-aged bartender with salt-and-pepper hair. Honestly, his personality could rival that of a dish towel--lifeless and uninviting. Our group was having a lively conversation, trying to include a friend who struggles with hearing. We were speaking a bit louder than usual due to the music and the noise around us. the bartender attempted to hush us and rudely demanded that we quiet down. It was incredibly frustrating, especially given our friend's situation. When I pushed back, he told us we could leave if we didn't comply. Well, that was the final straw. We decided to pay our tabs and exit, leaving him to his miserable demeanor. Every guest at the bar left with us ! Good riddance, pal! Sorry Charlie's could use a serious overhaul in customer service--starting with a bartender who knows how to treat patrons with respect. I

Yelp
5 stars simply for the happy hour because it is truly unbeatable (4-6pm) $5 select beverages (wine/champagne [actual champagne]) & $1 oysters. Get here early so that you can take advantage of the special and preferred seating (we got there around 5 and sat outside, which was fine and there was a fan). Service was friendly, attentive, and made sure that we took advantage of happy hour (giving a last-call for happy hour is so helpful!). When I'm back in Savannah, I'll make sure to stop by again :)

Yelp
We came for oysters and started with a dozen House Oysters (5/5 $18.00) -- sweet, plump James River VA oysters. We also enjoyed the Roasted Oyster Sampler (4/5 $18.00) -- 2 butter garlic, 2 Rockefeller, 2 casino -- and a Crispy Oyster Po-Boy (5/5 $20) -- 6 oysters fried perfectly on a toasted long roll with a delicious tarragon remoulade, served with a side of Collards (4/5). And we didn't just chow down on oysters.  We also had the She-Crab Soup (4/5 $7 for a cup), Savannah Blue Crab Cakes (4/5 $16) -- too much breading for my taste but great flavor profile -- and Red Snapper Ceviche (4/5 $16). We sat at a high-top in the bar, which was very nice.  Noise level was mildly loud.  Service was excellent.

Yelp
We were told to hit up Sorry Charlie's while in Savannah and it didn't disappoint. Great oysters, great service and lively place!

Yelp
Thumps up!!! Friendly, fun and great food. Best shrimp tacos I ever had and my brothers were in heaven over the baked and raw oysters. Tyler and other bartenders were very knowledgeable and able to give guidance on menu. Nice mix of locals and tourist.

Cool happening spot in the heart of downtown Savannah. Met up with friends for a girls night out and this was the perfect choice. Food was great, drinks were better! Service was exceptional.

Yelp
The male bartender only cared to chat with locals. He dropped our menus and said not a word. We had to get his attention to place an order for apps and dinner. Thankfully a female bartender was attentive enough to see we needed help. Any bar I have been to they will tell you that anyone can help you etc but this guy only served drinks to those he wanted to and did not speak to whom he saw as a stranger-clearly. I saw this again and again around me. Thankfully the James River oysters were Devine and the shrimp and grits. I saw in FB that they tweaked their menu recently. The shrimp and grits reminded me of the most delicious southern cream corn dish which was heaven. The sausage was flavorful and the shrimp were large. 10/10. My husband got the chicken sandwich. It was super delicious with melted pimento cheese and the chicken was very flavorful. 10/10. Drinks. I got the Fish House Punch. It packed a punch on me! I don't even like brandy but this drink is really good. It was served in a tiki room glass! Real ceramic. The guy next to us comes there for the boiled peanuts. He said the best of his life. After we went to the tiki room upstairs that was all decorated for Christmas. This place out the tiki room at the Polynesian at Disney to shame. It was dead sadly on Dec 20. But man the drinks are really good. I got the reindeer ginger snap shot. It kicked my butt. Hubby got the Puerto Rican style drink (he is Puerto Rican) it was super tasty and served in a ceramic young coconut cup. You will want to go to just buy cups like we did. I ended up with ith the reindeer shot glasses!

Yelp
Sat on the patio, which was nice and less crowded. They had fans, which kept it cool around 8-9 pm. For an appetizer we chose the Pimento Cheese with Johnny Cake. The jalapeño Johnny cake was nice, but the pimento cheese was cold. I wasn't a fan of the lump of pimento cheese cooling down the hot cornbread. I would have just preferred the hot cornbread and butter. For my meal, I had the She-crab soup and the roasted oyster sampler. The she crab soup was good, but over-seasoned. It was very heavy with Cajun spices which overpowered the crab. The roasted oysters were very good. My husband had a burger and he said it was "slightly above average". Our waiter was nice, but not very attentive. We went for most of our meal with empty glasses. He didn't come check or ask us if we needed refills until we were already done eating and waiting for the check.

Yelp
I believe I have left a review on this restaurant before and it still hold true as a place to hang out with great food with a friendly staff! Thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday with a great time!

Yelp
THERAGINGFORK.com Long time oyster bar...a must visit location while in Savannah Ga. Oysters Rockefeller was amazing and Super tasty... The bar staff was knowldgeable about the different oysters they sell. Beer selection was average but you go for the oysters. The bathroom was spotless and updated. Noticed the manager walking around making sure everything was in order.

Yelp
We ordered collards, hoppin john, and oysters on the half shell. All of it was fantastic. Really great meal and service. We plan to go back for more.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick snack, and it was really good! Not a full meal, but we totally enjoyed sitting at the "raw bar" and tasting some yummy oysters, hushpuppies and crab cakes. We were disappointed that the elevator was not working, we had intended to hit the rooftop. The roasted oysters were quite good, as was the crab cake - it had a lovely bite - not just in the cake but the sauce. It was fun to taste raw oysters and then let the guys know that as Mainers, we get it! They were quite excited that we mentioned it and, the oysters were fab.

Yelp
Hubby and I came in twice while we were in town for the day. The first time we got the roasted oyster sampler which was delicious and the hush puppies which were also good. The second time we came in after a ghost tour for dinner. We ordered the garlic Parm oysters for the appetizer then I got the fried oyster po boy and my husband got the blue crab fettuccine, the waitress suggested adding shrimp to the pasta and the hubby was not disappointed. The service was great both times and the restaurant had a up beat vibe. We did not check out the roof top Or the tiki room.

Yelp
Had an amazing time here that we had to visit it again the following day. We enjoyed $3 Savannah beers and $1 oysters. We had fast and friendly service. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Food was great! My dish got delayed so the rest of my party was done eating by the time my food arrived, but the manager comped my meal for the delay. We grabbed drinks on the rooftop while we waited for our table on the first level which timed out great!

Yelp
Apparently a cut of red snapper was "so thick" that it caused almost a 30 minute delay for them to send it out. This, in addition to a waiter named Tyler who took way too long to bring us out food, choosing instead to engage in long-winded conversation rather than serve us. The manager, after the long delay, came up to me to try to make excuses for their poor performance. And interrupted me in front of my mother and the group I was with. This lady chose not to give us any type of discount, nor did they offer for any assistance with our check. The manager, who introduced herself as "Nancy," continued to berate us for not cutting the kitchen enough slack. And made it a point to insult me in front of my family. "I see a lot of things about you that I'm not going to say," I believe was one of her statements. I've left bad reviews for restaurants before. I have never been treated with this type of disrespect. I don't know if this Nancy woman was having a bad day or what, but let me say to all my fellow Savannahians: do *not* come to this place. The food is decent, but to be yelled at and made to feel even a bit unsafe in a restaurant--in 2024, in a time where there is so much else to worry about--is ridiculous. Go somewhere else. You deserve better, especially in a city with so many choices.

Yelp
We went to the rooftop of Sorry Charlie's Oyster Bar to enjoy a beautiful afternoon with friends. It was hot, but we were able to score some seats in the shade. After a disappointing lunch elsewhere, we ordered a little food. We got oysters (of course), a panzanella salad, and bacon and bleu sliders. Everything was delicious, and we wished we had started there rather than settled on a sub par lunch earlier. The drinks were also yummy. We tried the calor del jardin margarita and the painkiller, as well as different kinds of beer. Our server was very attentive, and we spent much of the afternoon there. We can't wait to return!
