"Sotto La Luna was the first to open in the World Artisan Market. The housemade pastas and pizzas — like the thick bucatini all’Amatriciana with braised Italian bacon, and the “angel and devil” Neapolitan pie with mozzarella, spicy soppressata, and hot honey — sometimes draw a packed house." - Eater Staff

Everything was delicious and I love that the pastas are homemade! The only critique I have about the pizza is that I wish the crust was crispier, but the flavoring and variety of topping choices were great. The servers were extremely friendly and professional, and the ambiance would’ve been good for either a date or a large group of friends. I would come back to try more of their dishes!

Google
Very good experience. Came here for my birthday dinner and everything was really good. The pizza in my opinion was the best dish of all. The pastas were good and the sauces were done well. If i had to rank best homemade pastas in the city im not sure this would make the list but would definitely get an honorable mention. The kitchen is open and you can watch them make your pasta. It was very busy when we went and the staff handled it well. Would recommend this place for a date night, special occasion or just a night out.

We had a fantastic experience at this beautiful restaurant, full of warm and welcoming people. From the moment we walked in, we were seated quickly, and our waiter immediately informed us about the specials of the day, offering a few spot-on recommendations. We decided to try the bucatini amatriciana, ribeye, and carpaccio—all of which were outstanding. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who made sure we were well taken care of and were very knowledgeable about the entire menu. Our meals arrived promptly and were absolutely delicious. This place is a true gem, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

We've lived in Astoria for three years, and this is our first time visiting this restaurant. The atmosphere is excellent, with plenty of space between the tables, and the music volume is just right. Of course, the food is delicious! We ordered a Sotto La Luna Pizza, fritto misto all'italiana, and paccheri cozze e pecorino. The portions are generous, and the service was quick. Highly recommended restaurant!

We have been sleeping on this place in Astoria. I have wanted to try it for a while but wasn’t certain they had vegan and gluten free options. But after taking another look at their menu, I have been proven wrong! I went with pizza marinara with gluten free crust and vegan mozzarella and I kid you not, it was the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. The crust was “doughy” and chewy and soft. Three qualities that I rarely put in the same sentence with gluten free. Lovely atmosphere. Open kitchen. Good vibes. Do try this place! I already want to come back.

Craving Cacio e Pepe tonight, I decided to drop by Sotto La Luna for takeout. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Francesca, one of the owners, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming. She suggested that I dine in at the bar, and I’m so glad I took her advice. Sitting by the bar gave me a front-row seat to the culinary magic happening in the kitchen. Watching the chefs expertly prepare their pasta dishes was a delightful experience, and the ambiance of the restaurant only enhanced the experience. The decor is tasteful, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. As for the food, my Cacio e Pepe was served directly from a cheese wheel—an indulgent touch that made the dish all the more delicious. The flavors were spot on, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. Every bite was a testament to the quality and care that goes into the food here. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring I had everything I needed. I’ll definitely be returning with friends to explore more of the menu. Sotto La Luna is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, offering exceptional food and a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended!

Took a ride to Astoria to see my friend decided to go for a bite. I was blown away... The decor atmosphere perfect fit for a relaxed and delicious food. Order a few things of the menu perfectly delicious. Steak tartare and carbonara with black truffle is a must! Most impressive for me was watching the chef and his sous chefs glide through the open concept kitchen and do an amazing job at preparing and plating the food. Service on point! Definitely will stop by next time I'm around Astoria to try more delicious food from their vast menu! Excellent experience with excellent food and service!

OMG! This restaurant being honest, is AMAZING! One of my favorites places here in New York, is my first time in the city and when I was walking Astoria I saw it and GOD!! The experience and the food 1000% all the people who where working on the kitchen were faboluos (Jairo was making a pasta a literally was ART) and the Sofia the server was INCREDIBLE she recommended as everything and was super nice! PEOPLE if you are reading this, please GO to this place!!

Yelp
Love this newer Italian spot in Astoria! I really came here for the pizza I saw on their IG (the crust filled with ricotta and soppressata, topped with mozzarella, Gorgonzola, zucchini & pine nuts), BUT that pizza was only on the specials menu and not a regularly served menu item. I got the next best thing from the menu since I'm obsessed with ricotta, and got the soleluna pizza, which is half calzone and half regular, which was sooooo good. We didn't finished it and ate maybe half? It was still delicious the next day as leftovers. The pasta was good also, but I think the pizzas might outshine the pastas. I'd definitely come back. Cute date spot, big space and friendly and attentive service

Yelp
I walked in with a couple of my friends on a Friday and we were able to be seated right away. The waiter was very attentive and made sure we always had water or anything that we needed. I liked the burrata appetizer that we ordered, but in terms of the pasta, they were all pretty salty and the portions were small. After hearing raving reviews from my friends about this place, I was a bit let down. I would go back to give it another try since we only ordered some of the menu.

Yelp
What to say? This place is amazing. I have been here several times but am only finally getting around to leaving a review. We had reservations on Mother's Day. (Pro-tip - Always reserve on any holiday and weekend as they get packed). We were shown to our table a few minutes after our reserved time. They definitely keep tables moving without ever feeling rushed and I appreciate that. I love the look and style of the restaurant, well. The floor plan and open kitchen make for a nice and airy dining experience. I already knew what I'd be ordering as I fell in LOVE with it the last time I dined in. My husband and daughter had never been so they played it safe with a Pizza/Pizza Sandwich. We started with the arancini and burrata for apps. The burrata was so creamy and paired nicely with delicious basil oil and tomatoes. Mouth watering! The arancini, which I had previously was also very good. It comes with mushroom, which I do NOT like but these were THAT good. Didn't taste the mushroom at all, thankfully! I had the Pappardelle Al Ragout D'Agnello. The Pappardelle was cooked to perfection allowing for the greatest bite. I don't eat lamb often (maybe 2-3 times a year?) and this ragout is such a delicious, hearty feel good stew like sauce. Highly recommend. A well rounded bite every single time! Sotto La Luna does Pizza perfectly so you really can't go wrong with simple Margherita style. My daughter ate this one and opted against having cheese. Basil, Sauce, Olive oil and a tasty crust was all she needed. Large portion she wasn't able to even get down half (which made for yummy leftovers). My husband had the Salsiccia Pizza Sandwich (Broccoli rabe, Italian sausages, smoked mozzarella). I didn't try it because I don't eat pork but he loved it and again the portion was so large he only ate half and it reheated very well the next day. We drank wonderful Red Sangria throughout our dining experience and saved just enough room for dessert! While we were quite stuffed from our meals, my daughter had a cannoli, which she loved. Portioned just right considering she didn't get through half of her entree and my husband and I shared the Strawberry Nutella Panna Cotta, which happened to be the dessert special. Sized just right to satisfy our sweet tooth. Always a great dine-in experience, along with fabulous drinks and comforting food for the soul. Highly recommend. Just reserve that table!

Yelp
Cacio E Pepe ($25.50) Salsiccia pizza calzone ($20.50) Half and Half Pizza ($30+) Pappardelle Al Ragout D'agnello ($26.50) - Lamb Pasta Gnocchi Al Lime Con Gamberi Rossi E Burrata ($27.50) This is the perfect date night spot in Astoria. I love the open kitchen concept they have, and it is so interesting to see the chefs make the pasta and plate them. I honestly thought everything we ordered that night was perfect and our server was so nice and she recommended us all her favorites as well. Not usually a fan of gnocchi but I really love the raw red shrimp and Burrata that it came with. The Cacio e Pepe is served with a cheese wheel right in front of you, which is a great experience. It's also surprisingly a lot more delicious than other cheese wheel pastas I've tried. This place is more pricey than other spots in Astoria but for the quality, ambience and taste, I'll say it is worth it.

Elle K.

Yelp
This special dish is EVERYTHING! CALAMARATA CON VONGOLE E PESTO DI PISTACCHIO AL LIME ($27.50) Calamari ring shape pasta with clams and pistachio/lime pesto. From the texture of the pasta to the beautiful edible spring flowers to the unique nutty, toasty, roasty pesto, wow. Memorable dish. I wanted more. I hope this takes its place on the permanent menu. I'll be back!

Suzy P.

Yelp
This was my second time here and I still loved it! The first time was at least a year ago and we ordered the burrata to start (amazing) and Cacio e Pepe pasta. The pasta was so good and cheesy and of course the presentation was great (served right out of a parmesan cheese wheel). This time we ordered the burrata again, and the pizza special ($30) which allowed us to try four different types of pizza. I went with: margherita, 4 formaggi, primavera, and sotto la luna. My favourite was the classic margherita. Next time I will definitely just order the margherita, though I loved the option to try 4 different slices. It's great for an indecisive person like me, especially when theres several things on the menu that look really good! The ambiance is nice, with an open kitchen, and not too noisy. The waiters were friendly and attentive. Tonight they gave free shots of limoncello to all the women in the restaurant for International Women's Day! I thought that was super sweet and thoughtful! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Hands down, this is my go-to Italian food destination in the area. Their interactive cooking style right in front of you adds to the dining experience. Every dish bursts with fresh ingredients and exquisite flavors, especially their impeccable presentation of classics like cacio e pepe. Beyond the delicious food, the service has consistently been excellent. The ambiance is delightful, with ample windows offering charming views of the streets. Parking is usually available, making it convenient for diners. A definite must-try!

Yanne B.

Yelp
I have it 5 stars because of the service ambiance and personality of the place. For drinks I ordered the margaritas. And my fiancé had the Peroni beer. I gotta say, I'm not a beer drinker but give me a nice tasting COLD beer and I'm in. We started off with the sotto La Luna pizza. Nice concept/idea but not to my liking. It's a half moon and half sun. The moon side (calzone) had ricotta and ham inside. The sun side had sausage, mushroom in a red sauce. The crust was a little flimsy. The calzone was a little burnt but my first bite was a glob of ricotta. Then we ordered the the thick ribbon pasta with the lamb ragu. WOW. The sauce... you can taste the seasoning but it's not overwhelming. You can taste the wine but just enough and the pieces of shredded lamb was perfection. We sat at the bar so we watched as the chefs prepared the dishes. I was in awe. The servers were very attentive. Definitely felt like a family. The restaurant has that home environment. Relaxed feel. I will definitely come back to try some other dishes.

Yelp
Nice restaurant in Astoria. It's got a great selection of pizzas and pastas. The service is good.

Eve S.

Yelp
This is a go-to in the neighborhood for Italian food. I have gotten different pastas and they are always good. Sitting next to the chef station is a cool experience near the back if you can. The tiramisu is delicious. We have had the same server a few times and he is always good. It is a larger space, I have seen a few birthday dinners here.

Michael C.

Yelp
This is the best place you can go to for great Italian food with a great ambiance. Whether you want to sit at the pasta bar, a table for two, a big family dinner, this place handles all occasions really well. All of the workers are very friendly as well.

Suzumi A.

Yelp
This has been one of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. The food is excellent (both presentation and taste) and they have a great service and vibes. Not sure how many times me and my husband have been here- we have brought our friends and family and recently had an occasion here. The team is great to work together and come up with delicious event menu! 10/10 I recommend!

Nora F.

Yelp
This particular week, we went from our favorite SoleLuna restaurant, then Sotto Le Stelle and then here. The same team manages all 3, so we know the food is good. We thought about visiting it sooner but it's hard to get a parking space around here, so we landed on Sunday, the no-parking rule day! The place is huge, vertically and horizontally. The high ceiling is noticeable. It lets me breathe better. It's important to find a place where you can breathe in NYC. There is outside seating too. The Chef is the first Soleluna Chef. We had fritto misto, tarfuto pizza, and oysters and tried Chef's favorite rice balls. Don't worry, this is only a warm-up snack because we'll be back, maybe another Sunday, the day we can find a parking spot and will try more dishes on the menu. Perfect service and delicious meals! Recommended!

Yelp
First review of the New Year! I've been driving past this restaurant for a while, and always wanted to try! Finally went last Friday with three friends for NYE Eve! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The vibe was casual and fun, all lit up for the holidays. Servers were warm and friendly, totally joking with us about our choices and drinks. The food was great (we did not take any pics, other than the menu to remember what we ate). I will say the zucchini tartare was a bit flavorless, and a disappointment. But everything else we ordered, we loved. We ordered a few pasta dishes for the table and ate "family style," which was great. The orecchiette salsiccia was delicious, as was the pappardelle al ragout. The braised wild boar special was out of this world! Two bottles of wine and complimentary Limoncello topped off the evening. Highly recommend and will be back!

Dan A.

Yelp
The price puts it in a category with some really great places in the West Village, which is tough competition, but this is the best Italian I've had in Astoria. Food - The Cacio e Pepe was very good, we split a Burrata pizza as well. It was also good, though it could have been a bit crisper in the middle. Service - The service was good, the plating of the Cacio e Pepe at the table from a big cheese wheel was unique. Ambiance - the kitchen is open so you can watch them prepare the food. The decor is modern and refined.

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Delicious pizza and pasta bar in Astoria! It has a very modern ambiance and decor with an open kitchen layout. We made reservations for this place for a Friday evening and it was packed! We started off with the salad and the calamari both of which were delicious. The margherita pizza was delicious, as well as the bucatini amatriciana. Service was very attentive and friendly. We had a great time enjoying our dinner and catching up here and didn't feel rushed at all.

Mei H.

Yelp
Always wanted to try this Italian restaurant when I passed by. Came here on a Saturday night with a group of 7 people. Definitely suggested should make a reservation before coming because it was packed! Service was great and all the waiters served customers with great smile! When we were seated, we ordered a bottle of red wine to start. For appetizers, we ordered: -tuna tartere- this was ok, fresh tuna -zucchini tartere - very refreshing, there was nuts, hummus and zucchini, they made a great combo -Salad- very interesting because it has a taste of wasabi! For main course, we got: -Wheel cheese spaghetti: a bit too salty but very creamy -Truffle spaghetti: my favorites main course, mushrooms on the side make a perfect combo -Pizza tasting which you could pick four different flavors - pizza was just ok, spaghetti stands out more at this place For desserts, we tried: Lemon cheesecake: the sourness even out the sweetness of cheesecake Pistachio cheesecake - house special for today! Tiramisu Will definitely come back to the restaurant!

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Food wasn't bad.. everything was a little on the saltier end for me. But my homemade rigatoni had maybe 5 pieces of mussels in it, all were sandy. Service was a miss, our order was clearly forgotten amongst the parties surrounding us. Our server double checked our order with us 20 minutes after we placed it with her. Ambiance is the only save here, it's a cute date night place for the area-- but mind you, you're just under the N train and it's very loud when you step outside. Lots of other date night places in Astoria we will continue to frequent, regret coming to try this.

Jane K.

Yelp
Food was top notch and service was also amazing! Each dish is very well concocted and presented. We enjoyed everything and wished we had room for dessert! The rustic pasta bar ambience is also perfect for any occasion you can think of (lunch date, dinner date, boozy brunch, family gatherings, etc). We'll be back to try more of the menu for sure!

Sabrina G.

Yelp
I really like it here. I finally had the chance to bring my boyfriend to this location and he has liked it as well! The ambiance is very pretty, there's much space and many tables, but my favorite seating is at the bar. The people working here are pretty much always in a good mood and the chefs joke around but are super productive. Servers and service are pretty fast. I really like their pizzas. Their Quattro Formaggi is my absolute favorite. Yesterday, though, I saw this little gem on their extra menu. The tuna with pistachio and caponata. A M A Z I N G. The caponata was perfect, the tuna was fresh, had a great taste, and the pistachio gave it a good crunchiness. The tagliere was good as always with its warm focaccia slices. My boyfriend had the cacio and Pepe and he liked it a lot, too. Well, of course I'll come back, and I also think you should come, too. Absolutely recommend :) Ps. Try their desserts!

Leslie K.

Yelp
The best pizza in Astoria in great ambiance! Fresh pasta is good as well. I'd stick to those main courses-- did not like the salads.

B T.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit here and there was plenty to enjoy! Service and management were attentive and seemed particularly attuned. The eggplant parmigiana and orecchiette were amazing and flavorful, pasta cooked perfectly. The fettuccine porcini e tartufo was a bit underwhelming and salty. Overall a mix, but certainly worth a visit as there is a wide menu. Other friends who have gotten takeout also felt it was good, but a mix. Ambiance was very loud and busy, a lively place, not necessarily intimate or romantique!

Daniel A.

Yelp
Really really nice ambiance that you notice right away when walking into the restaurant. The open kitchen concept that is right in the middle of the restaurant is really neat and provides a very authentic vibe. My buddy & I started with 2 different glasses of red wine. He had the valpolicella and I had the Primitivo that was recommended by our waiter. Both wines were absolutely incredible and I recommend both to anyone who is a fan of red wine. My buddy ordered the orecchiette pasta with pesto sauce and sausage which we found extremely salty. My buddy couldn't even finish half of his dish. He had me try it as a second opinion and I felt the same exact way. I ended up ordering the spaghetti w/ pomodoro sauce and thought it was good, but not amazing. I'm willing to give this place a second chance and will order different dishes the next time we come.

Ruben P.

Yelp
The place is beautiful but it's lacking something crucial! Portions! Service is excellent but no bang for your buck. I've been to other Italian spots and they managed to serve a decent portion size for the price you pay for. I would've like to have felt full after the pasta. The taste was alright too. Overall okay restaurant.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Amazingggg food! Amazing service!! First time here, we ordered 3 pastas and they were all delicious ! The staff was so nice and attentive. We will definitely be coming back!

Diana C.

Yelp
OMG the caccio e pepe is to die for. They bring it out to your table with this huge cheese wheel and you get to see the cheese embrace the pasta noodles lol Their specials change often enough to make you want to keep coming back. Their spicy diabolo pizzas are the best. They let you choose 4 types of pizzas to put all on one pie if you wish to sample a little of everything. Their drink and wine menu is quite long and I'd definitely come back.

Lilly P.

Yelp
The pizza and pizza sandwhiches are very well done. Ingredients taste fresh and authentic. The prosciutto is nutty and fruity, not porky or gamy at all. I don't care for the pastas, the cook is more soft than al dente. I tried the orchiette and truffle. Orchiette was forgettable and the truffle fettuccine had an unsettling deep mushroom flavor. I will be coming back for their pizzas and pizza sandwhiches, the best pizza sandwhiches in nyc so far

Jovanna A.

Yelp
Best quality of food ever, amazing staff and great cocktails. Had the oysters as aps and the pizza, what a savory dish!

Janet J.

Yelp
The food was amazing!! This place pizza dough is the best I've ever tried so far. They put in a generous amount of cheese in pasta and salad we ordered. But the pasta didn't feel too heavy. Got the "special dessert" and it goes well with their coffee, and I loved that it wasn't too sweet. Great service and high ceiling spacious indoor space !

M D.

Yelp
I love their food. Service is good. They take care of you, you don't fee rushed. Music can be better. If you are craving for truffle infused food...this is the place. This is perfect to have on a cold weather.

Enrique V.

Yelp
Probably my favorite restaurant in Astoria. Very busy but very worth it. The pizza was great and the pasta was even better. Accompanied by a white wine and the night was complete. Highly recommend

Jen U.

Yelp
Food was good. Pasta tasted fresh and flavorful. Space is gorgeous. Very spacious yet full of nicely picked decor. Service brought the score down. Bland. Distracted. No upsell, no suggestions.

Newell R.

Yelp
Situated at the intersection of 35th Avenue & 31st Street in Astoria, Queens, sits the World Artisan Market, a compilation of various eateries & cuisines. https://worldartisanmkt.com/ --- Sotto La Luna https://www.sottolalunanyc.com/ I've been meaning to patronize this restaurant, as I live nearby. Sotto La Luna's cuisine is delicious. Their Frisee salad, with the homemade poached pears, toasted walnuts and gorgonzola cheese dressing is fantastic. Entrée portions are ample and the presentations are excellent. They've beautiful dinnerware. On my next visit, I will most certainly sit at the bar area, which overlooks the open kitchen layout/chef's area. Looks really nice. Pros Delicious cuisine very well prepared and cooked Nice presentation and beautiful dinnerware Sound system with magnificent music A delightfully unrushed dining experience. That's an A+ Cons Restaurant lighting (tables are quite dark in the evenings) No fresh pepper offered Bread basket contents hard as a rock after ten minutes I give Sotto La Luna 5 Stars The pros certainly outweigh the cons, which are little things which need addressing. Sotto La Luna https://www.sottolalunanyc.com/ 34-39 31st St, Queens, NY 11106 One block north of the 36th Avenue N/W stop. Q66 bus stop across the street

Yelp
Great pizza! Pasta not so good! They have other two great restaurants serving great pasta but in this one the pasta isnt the highlight of the menu! They need to improve that!

Christina V.

Yelp
Homemade pasta, cannoli and service get a+ all else not so much. Cacio e Pepe was extremely salty and I'd put salt on cereal if I could. I wanted to love the zucchini tartare. The ingredients sounded blissful but it underwhelmed, lacking flavor. Zucchini needs a boost as it's pretty bland. The beef tartare was fresh but I wanted carpaccio so I goofed. The service was excellent.

Dana H.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this place. The service was great, they let me sit there for almost 40 minutes while waiting for my friend. Their Fritto Misto All'Italiana was really good, but I was not a fan of their pasta. Specifically, their Orecchiette Salsiccia Broccoli E Rabe. The pasta was chewy and perfectly cooked, but the sauce was bitter. The first bite was fine, but as I ate more of it, it became more and more bitter. I'm sure their pizza was great, it looked really good, but the pasta dish I had was definitely not my style. However, I 100% recommend their Fritto Misto.

Tracy S.

Yelp
Great date spot! Came on a Friday evening before the rush and was able to get seated right away. Servers were very nice, consistent with filling water, and checking in when our food arrived. We had their pizza (can't go wrong with any of the options). We liked the pear salad and the steak tartare! We saw many people getting the famous pasta (cacio Pepe) and they dose it in the cheese wheel in front of you. Would come back again for another date night experience!

Erik B.

Yelp
From the outside, this place looks charming. It's also very promising. Upon entering, the hostess speaks Italian and the owner immediately knows what tables are available versus not. There are a ton of families that come here to eat because they have plenty of barstools and tables with easy, delicious Italian food. They have a wide selection of pastas and pizzas. To start, I ordered the rice balls containing tomato flavored rice and mozzarella cheese. They tasted delicious but the portion size was a bit small. The Margarita Pizza had a delicious red sauce and an abundance of mozzarella cheese that felt different and more special than the kind you can purchase in the supermarket. My wife ordered a plate of the vegetarian Bolognese which, for those of you who like impossible burger meat, was a nice surprise. My favorite part of this restaurant were the staff. Even with a three month old infant, our waitress, the owner, and others would always stop by our table to check in and smile. The people make an establishment longer lasting than the food and we were reminded of this yet again.

Annabelle D.

Yelp
Delectable modern Italian food in a bright and clean atmosphere. We came her somewhat full already but wanted to try this new Italian joint that opened up. We tried two handmade pasta dishes, both with excellent quality. Pros: - definitely fresh handmade pasta. The texture in the pasta was perfect, and both sauces were deep and flavorful. Wish we had more appetite to try all the different kinds. - wide variety of pastas, pizzas and salads, all of which seemed innovative and well thought out - execution and presentation of the dishes were seamless. - bright and brilliant decor. Love the concept of open kitchen, where you can see the chefs hard at work preparing dishes. - attentive and polite wait staff - decent variety of authentic cocktails, spritz's, wines Cons - none really. If I were being picky, maybe slightly larger portions for the price, but they were by no means small. Additionally, some of the seating was very tight, and they grouped us all together while leaving other parts of the restaurant vacant. I understand that it may be easier to wait/serve, but they seemed to have plentiful wait staff and it may be more comfortable for the patrons!

Mike L.

Yelp
Came here for the first time recently on a early Tuesday afternoon. Very few customers so we were seated quickly. We had the Margherita pizza, Special tasting pizza with your choice of 4 topping styles, Fritto Misto All' Italiana, and the Lasagna. I didn't try the lasagna but was told it was good. The pizzas have a very thin crust about as thick as a tortilla which makes it very hard to eat as all the toppings tend to fall off when you lift it up to eat. Although I do like thin crust pizza, this was too thin in my opinion. As for flavors, I thought they could have added more seasoning. In general the food was good but nothing that blew me away. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was nice and casual. Overall, a good experience but I prefer to try some other new places before I return.

Katie B.

Yelp
For my birthday, my husband wanted to know how I wanted to celebrate. Without thinking, I told him I wanted to try Sotto La Luna for the first time. It opened recently not terribly far from where we live and it always seems to have a crowd and I was intrigued by the menu. Luckily, it was totally worth a visit! They offer a ton of homemade pasta and pizza. You can even go sit near the open cooking area to watch the chefs at work. We did not opt to do that, instead sitting at a low top table. The decor and ambiance is chic and appealing. We ordered the cacio e pepe and off the specials menu, a pizza sampler. I hope the pizza sampler is moved to the regular menu, because it was super fun and afforded us a taste of 4 different pies! But, you aren't getting the dregs of an old pizza that's been sitting around. They seem to make each sampler pie fresh. It's about 12 inches in diameter and sliced into 8s so that between 2 people you have the opportunity to try a slice of each flavor too. Our pie had slices of the bufala DOP - a margarita pizza with buffalo mozz, the angel and devil - basically a margarita with soppressata and hot honey, the zucca e salsiccia - a butternut squash base pizza with smoked mozz and sausage on top, and obviously had to try the sotto la luna pie - which had burrata on top of proscuitto, arugala, and truffle. They were each delicious and reorderable! The waitress had suggested that we start with the pizza as an appetizer and then have our cacio e pepe (which we also shared) as an entree. This was a great move, though I will mention there was more than enough pizza for the two of us. We wound up packing almost half the pie up to bring home. When they came with our entree - the cacio e pepe, it arrived in a cheese wheel. It was it's own little show! But unlike some other places I've been where it's gimmicky, I think it definitely added flavor and felt cool. They also graciously split the pasta in half for us and served us each our own small portion. It was excellent! For dessert, we tried off of the specials menu the lime mousse. It was good, but next time I might try something else!

Yelp
Amazing. 10/10, the service was fast and the servers were attentive. The food preparation was not only quick but very delicious. My girlfriend and I ordered the spaghetti carbonara from their specialty,m as well as the angel and devil pizza. The carbonara was a bit small in portion and pricey but quite filling since it is very flavorful. The pizza was fire boots, it had hot honey...i like hot honey on pizza.

Yelp
Everything was amazing. The service was impressive, all of the servers were supporting all of the tables. A wine glass accidently broke, they switched our table and were very accommodating during a busy Friday evening. The food was amazing!!! We had the Fettuccine mushroom pasta and a pizza. So good. Great evening.

Yelp
I rarely go out for Italian food. However, when one of your besties is Italian and wants to go out for Italian, you go out for Italian...LOL! Said bestie just moved to LIC and heard about this spot from by going to one of their sister spots. So with the love of trying something new, we were on our way. It's super cute minimal decor, but comfortable. There is a open past a bar so you can see them making some of the food. Food on the table... Cacio e pepe...Made in this huge cheese bowl...OMG! Gnocchi w/ something...I can't remember..lol Spaghettie bolagnase, but made with impossible meat Sotto la luna pizza Angel & Devil pizza Pear salad SANGRIA!!!!! Let's just say we needed to go containers b/c clearly we were ordering with our nose and stomach. We definitely enjoyed the food and plan on coming back, when ever the need for Italian hits.

Yelp
We came here for my mother-in-law's birthday and had a wonderful time. The ambiance feels classy yet welcoming and the service was amazing. BUT THE FOOD. I cannot begin to describe how delicious everything was. My mother-in-law is actually Italian, and she says this is the best Italian food she's had since leaving Italy. High praise! Perfect taste and perfect portions. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Disappointing considering the stellar reviews. We went around 2PM on a Friday and it was pretty empty. We got the burrata appetizer, paccheri cozze e pecorino pasta, and the angel and devil pizza. We also received complimentary bread with free refills. The burrata and bread were the best things we got, aka the uncooked dishes. The tomatoes were sprinkle with delicious flaky salt. I do wish the bread was warm though. The pasta was meh and the portion small for the price. Came with 6 or 7 shelled mussels. The pizza was wet, like it had been undercooked and the slices were so floppy. The taste was there and the hot honey was delicious but the wetness ruined it. The servers were very nice and came by often to check on us, and the ambience and music were great. Just wish the food was as nice.

Yelp
While the pizza was great the cacio pepe wasn't and the wines by the glass (tried the prosecco and white Toscana) were terrible.
