"When Soul Lao, the St. Paul-based food truck known for its pork belly baguette sandwiches, red curry-topped branzino, and fiery khaopoon, opened a permanent location at Sibley Plaza, owners Sabrina Boualaphanh and Eric Phothisanh’s new menu smartly kept its hugely popular O.G. wings. This place is small and for the most part it's take out but there is a very small section which can accommodate up to 5 or 6 people eating. The workers did say that customers can go the next door to the beer garden and eat there for seating. The food was okay. The portions are on the smaller side. The price was above average. Beef ribs 8/10 Beef steak laab 6.5/10 Lao sausage 7.5/10 Eggrolls 3/10 Mamko rice 7/10

First time here. I've never really had Lao food before, but this was an amazing experience. On Wednesday, if you order their whole chicken (I think it was a whole chicken), you get $2 off your beer next door (wandering leaf brewery). We ordered their egg rolls, rotisserie chicken, wings (regular), and pork belly, and it was super tasty. I'd have to say Pork Belly was #1. It is very crunchy, crispy, and juicy. The chicken wings were #2. It tasted like home. The rotisserie chicken was very flavorful and tender. The egg rolls were good too. Def a little on the pricier side, but it was worth every penny. Must try!!

Google
Very good food! I had the rotisserie chicken and the garlic noodle. Their spice level is pretty decent. Lao Hot had a good level of heat. Very small place for seating so it’s better to do a takeout from there instead of seating in. Highly recommended.

OH wow! 🌟💯👍🏿 Soul Lao truly transports me back to my childhood! Where to start… From the relics on the walls to the smells in the air . This is 💯 Authenic Lao food. You can tell , it’s from a Lao family that is proud to share their heritage. Go savor the flavors and labor of love they pour into this culinary masterpiece. Such a gem, not to be missed! beef lard, roast pork, papaya salad, chicken wings, khao nam, highlights for sure! Honestly, everything is exceptional. 🍚💯🙌🏾‼️ Can’t wait to come back, next time I’m in town 🤍

Google
Food was incredible but also incredibly salty. Pretty much just meat and carbs. Very light on vegetables if any. A great snack or occasional meal, but not something you'd want to eat on a regular basis. Food does take a while to come out and there isn't really any seating inside the restaurant other than some high chairs near the window. Even those appear to be for people waiting for their takeout order. You can sit at the bar right next to here. They allow food to be brought in. A bit on the expensive side. Location is also kind of odd. If I come here its specifically to eat here. I can't just stop by on my way from somewhere.

Delicious authentic Lao food but with a modern twist. Super friendly staff. I would definitely recommend Soul Lao to anyone who hasn’t tried Laotian food or anyone who has!

Google
Amazing!! Loved every dish, especially the chicken thigh rice dish (khao mun gai tod). Laab seen was super flavorful. And the mango stick rice was the perfect dessert to end our meal! We took our food next door to the brewery to eat and get a drink. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
The food is fantastic. The staff is great. Wait times have been a bit long, but the quality is very high. The pork belly is incredible, with a crackly skin and ultra tender meat & fat. The lao sausage is true to style with bold lemongrass and acidic brightness. The chicken is well executed and paired well with fermented soy. The shrimp salad and cucumber salads are perfectly authentic, but might be too strong for pallettes unaccustomed to lao food. Overall, the prices are a bit high, but the quality makes a strong case for the value received.

Yelp
Go there! Amazing food, really something else!! A true hidden gem. Pretty much take out, but you can grab a beer or a drink at the Wandering Leaf Brewery and sit down and eat. We were headed for the brewery for trivia night and looking for some good, different local food close by. Yelp delivered :) This place is so cool and the food is really thoughtfully designed. It's different and much more flavorful than any other Thai or Lao food I've ever had. Also, the vibe of the staff is friendly and very accommodating. We had the OG wings, the Naem Khao Crispy Coconut Rice, and the Laab Seen - Charcoal Beef Salad. All were absolute winners. The Laab Seen was very spicy, even though we ordered it at the 'medium' spice level. Very tasty. I'd recommend ordering family style so you can share plates and all of the wonderful tastes. I'll definitely be back. Soon.

Yelp
Went on a Wednesday and ran into their Wednesday Wing special, so I got some OG wings and papaya medium spicy/spicy, and it came with HEAT Service was great, the person in the front helped walked me through the menu downside, their most popular are usually sold out so fast

Mayra P.

Yelp
The Best Restaurant in St Paul award And they have a rotisserie belly plate . Is very delicious

Tippy P.

Yelp
I've visited them once a while back when they had the food truck. I finally made it to their actual restaurant. It's really cute, next to the Wandering Brewery. The guy was very helpful with the menu. I wanted to eat the pork belly and checked to see if anymore was available, he confirm there are. So we added an order of the sausages. both came with a small container of sticky rice and jeow tomato. Spicy tomato sauce for dipping. Once I picked up my order, they were out of the pork belly. He refunded the amount charged and gave me an order of chicken wings to accommodate. They were delicious. Sausage was really good too, full of herbs and flavors.

Shanelle A.

Yelp
I went shortly after they opened. My favorite dish is the pork belly. However, overpriced for the portion you get. I'd support again in the future.

Justine L.

Yelp
Holy crap! How have I not discovered this place earlier with all those 5-star reviews! I drive by this place all the time and it's kind of hidden between the Aldi and the brewery in the W. 7th strip mall. We initially came here to support the owners, who are parents of the same school that my kid goes to. We were blown away. It's takeout, but there are two small bartops where you can eat. The roasted, slow cooked pork belly was out of this world. The coconut fried rice / lettuce wrap was also amazing. Will definitely be back.

Joshua H.

Yelp
As a Boston native I would rate this place about a 6/10 for food. I got the OG wings, papaya salad (thum medium), sticky rice, and jeow mak len (tomato). The wings were salty to my taste, the papaya salad was too salty and didn't fit the trifecta, the sticky rice was perfect and the jeow was salty as well. Overall everything was way too salt for me but if you like salty foods this would probably be a 7/10 for you. Service was great and fast as well as the dining area.

Michaela S.

Yelp
Amazing food, super friendly staff - a must try! I ordered the O.G. wings, Naem Khao (Crispy Coconut Rice), Noakeo's Eggrolls, and Garlic noodles. My favorites were the wings and noodles. Both had a perfect balance of sweet and savory and even a little bit of spice. The rice was good, but crispy rice isn't my favorite thing. Delicious flavor and generous servings. We ate next door at wandering leaf which had lots of seating and I highly recommend digging in there. On Wednesdays, they have a deal where you can get 3 pieces of chicken wings instead of 5 and $2 off a beer for a reduced price. It was a little pricey, but I'd give it a try at least once.

Claire L.

Yelp
This is primarily a takeout place parking is pretty good since it is in a strip mall with a large parking lot. The ambiance for pick up was very good. The place is nicely decorated making it feel homey and clean. There were 2 tables so limited seating, but you can go next-door to the brewery if you want to sit and eat. Service was very good - online ordering was very easy and it was ready when I got there by the time and the food was still hot by the time I got home! The food: Egg rolls - a must get. Perfectly small compact portions that pack a nice flavorful bite. Chicken skewers - this was the best thing of all things that we tried. The chicken was perfectly spiced and was juicy and felt like a good deal for $14 Crispy pork belly - this was very yummy and the green sauce was a little spicy, overall I did not feel like this was worth $23. Pork belly is very rich and fatty and really you should only have a few pieces. It was good and I'm not sure where else you would get this so it's worth a try. It comes with white sticky rice, which was also good but if you just have a bite with spicy sauce, one piece of pork belly and the rice, it feels a little bit dry and bland and spicy! Chicken noodle dish - oh man this was life-changing and if you're going to get an entrée get this great portioning for $20. I've never tasted anything quite like this. The flavors were very bold. Only complaint a little greasy but really amazing and would get this again. There is also a side of sticky rice pictured for $5 and I thought that it would go with the chicken skewers but overall I think you can just skip this.

Yelp
I've had Soul Lao twice while at Wandering Leaf. The food is delicious and unique, but the prices are a bit insane. It's one thing to charge for sauces (which, in my opinion, are needed for the crispy rice dishes), but charging $20 for a portion of rice, lettuce, and tofu seems a bit much. That being said, the food is delicious. I had the Vegan Naem Khao (Crispy Coconut Rice, Tofu, Cilantro, Green Onions, Lettuce) and Fermented Soybean Sauce. The dish had a bit of a spicy kick to it, which was mellowed out by adding a wrap of bib lettuce. I wish the tofu had more flavor, as the tiny sauce cup wasn't enough to soak each piece and give them that boost. My husband had the O.G Wings (Double Fried, O.G Sauce, Whole Wings), they were "crispy as all heck" and the sauce was delicious. He enjoyed the fact that they were served whole as well. When I went to pick up my order, the space was well laid out and cute. There were a few tables for folks to eat in but most of the line was pickup orders. Because the space is so small, I did end up being stuck behind a couple who were deciding on their order, so I think some signage/direction for ordering in versus picking up would be helpful.

Yelp
Wow, just wow. This place is incredible. There IS seating inside. I was extremely confused beforehand whether this was a takeout only spot or not. The food here is familiar, but different. We've had sausage, but not like this. It has so much flavor and seasoning, and spice too. We've had fried rice, but not like this. It has a crunchy texture, but not an undercooked rice... a truly fried rice. The wings were also incredible. They were very crunchy. I think I read that they deep fry them twice? Sounds amazing. This surpassed all my expectations. Not to mention that I drove 35m, and eventually ate most the dishes cold. I can only imagine if they were fresh and hot, lol.

Kedar D.

Yelp
Three stars is not a bad review in my book---it means a place is perfectly fine and worth visiting. Soul Lao is a small place practically attached to Wandering Leaf Brewing. It labels its vegan dishes and I got a couple and brought them over to Wandering Leaf. The khao soi haeng ($20) can be made vegan if you ask to not include the chicken. I liked the dish overall but it lacked a protein (I wish they could have put tofu or mock duck into it). The naem khao ($20) can be made vegan if you choose tofu. I enjoyed this crispy and savory rice dish, though the tofu was bland and under-seasoned. The portion sizes are decent, but the food itself is really expensive. That said, I'm glad they're around and appreciate them having vegan options.

Mary Y.

Yelp
The eggroll was delicious and cook well. It wasnt dry and it was well seasoned. the chicken wings were big and the sauce on it was good, just need more sauce after a bite into the wing it . I really enjoy the chicken with fried egg. That meal was delicious the egg was crispy and the yolk burst really well. The chicken had flavor, not really dry. The drink we have was alright. Not my kind of drink to get. But definitely something to try! It's very different! The service was good. Just a slow day for them. The ambiance was oka, it's a small place so there isnt much to say about it.

Mia C.

Yelp
Ever since I heard that Soul Lao does catering for weddings, I've told my boyfriend that I refuse to have any other food at our future wedding. We used to go to the food truck and sit in line for this food. I was so happy and proud when I found out they were opening a restaurant ! The food is beyond good. The Naem Khao is SO GOOD!!!!! If you get one thing, I recommend getting this. It has crispy little rice pieces, it's a great balance of spice, sour, savory and is a pretty big portion! The wings are a 9/10. Honestly I would stick with the Naem Khao but these are still definitely worth a try. I also love that it's right next to a brewery and that you can order food from Soul Lao while getting a beer ! The owners are super nice and I really love supporting them. Not much space to sit in their restaurant but like I said, there is more than enough seating in the brewery right next door. Please come here and try this for yourself. If they were closer to me, I would get it literally every week.

Kabao Y.

Yelp
Food -- I so so appreciate that Soul Lao has vegan dishes because as a Hmong vegan person, I have such a hard time finding comfort dishes that are vegan friendly, so thank you Soul Lao!! I need to come back for more. PS... can I suggest some boba? Because I was totally craving some boba with this meal. Service is so fast! I love the family run style of this place and it SMELLS like home Nicest people and they really are doing their best to be fast which I appreciate. Not a whole lot of seating inside, it's definitely more of a take out place but I love their whole set up. There is a private restroom inside Soul Lao too! You can order in Wandering Leaf Brewery with the QR code at your table and you'll just pop next door when you get the text that your food is ready. For non vegans -- I heard the Pork and green sauce is delicious!!!

Trina V.

Yelp
I followed Soul Lao when they were a food truck- stopping by at Black Stack or other random spots, so I was pleased to find out that they had a brick and mortar store now, next to another great brewery! I'm a huge fan of the naem khao, OG Oyster Sauce Wings , pork belly (perfect amount of fattiness with crispy skin) and the lao sausage is so fragrant and lemongrassy. I haven't had anything that I didn't like from Soul Lao. Right now, you can order at the counter, online, or from a QR code inside Wandering Leaf. It's mostly take out but if you choose to eat in, there are a couple small tables (but i preferred to take it next door and pair with a beer). Overall, i love that I can find Soul Lao anytime I want now!

Irene C.

Yelp
Here I am visiting from CA, and I'm always looking for a good Asian restaurant. What caught my eyes was a picture of the rotisserie pork belly. The skin was so crispy and the pork was so tender. It was a heavenly bite. We also picked up the OG chicken wings, the Naem Khao, Khao Min Gai Tod, and Noakeo's Eggrolls. Be aware that some dishes or sauces may have a little kick, which is also listed in the descriptions. The restaurant space is small, with only a few tables, but we were opting for takeout. Definitely the standouts for me were the rotisserie pork belly and the OG wings. The OG wings had that umami flavor, I'm still dreaming about it. Maybe I'll make another visit during this trip, but it's definitely worth having any time I return to the Twin Cities!

Markus G.

Yelp
This was my first time here with my fiance and her sister. When you walk in there's a door on the left and the right. The door on the left is the restaurant and the door on the right is the brewery. It's more or less a place to order food for takeout however they do have a few tables to dine in if you choose to do so and the tables aren't taken. I ordered the chicken skewers and the shrimp spring rolls since I wasn't famished. The food was good portions, however it was a bit expensive for the area. Also I appreciate they had a bathroom for customers however it was so small the customers sitting and waiting for their food had to stand up every time I needed to go to the bathroom. But all in all it was a good experience, the staff was very polite, kind and seem to care for their customers.

Tiffany V.

Yelp
Food was good but over price.i can get similar for fraction of the cost. Service was good and small clean little place. Change to a 4 stars because it was over priced for the items. Papaya salad for $16, can get 2 out order elsewhere and it taste as good. I want to go back but I can't afford to eat there. With the amount I spent, around a $100, I can cook myself some.

Marquie J.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious. An order of eggrolls is two XL eggrolls. The main dish was absolutely heaping: enough for two people. This is more of a take out place than dine in, the seating isn't particularly comfortable, but that is the only negative thing I could say. Staff was upbeat and friendly. Absolutely recommend.

Tony X.

Yelp
HEAR ME OUT. This is what Union kitchen should have been. This right here is a beautiful blend of authentic Lao food with American palate in mind. Cannot say enough good things about out this restaurant. The food is impeccable, high quality, made with love and is full of flavor. The sausage is made from scratch, full of herbs and pairs well with their spicy tomato pepper side. Porkbelly is juicy and crunchy and Jesus it comes with a pineapple pepper. Innovative. If you're looking to be introduced to authentic and flavorful Lao cuisine this place is absolutely amazing.

Butterfly C.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Lao food but with a modern twist. Super friendly staff. I would definitely recommend Soul Lao to anyone who hasn't tried Laotian food or anyone who has!

Leslie C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this Loatian restaurant. Located in a strip mall its very unassuming but the menu is full of flavor. We enjoyed the Egg rolls, Khao Soi and the Pork Belly rice bowl. The prices range around 20-30 for a full meal and I would recommend an appetizer in addition to the main course because the portions are on the smaller side. Overall the flavors were amazing and I definitely want to come back to try the wings. It is great to support small family run businesses who are great at cooking. One suggestion I would have is including some lactose free options in the drink menu for their Asian clientele! This location is also connected to a brewery and they let you BYOB or bring food to the brewery to eat which is a great option if you wanted to hang out with some friends!

Travis T.

Yelp
This was one of those restaurants that made me literally say wow, when I was eating. The pork was amazing. The skin was perfectly crisp while still having deliciously tender meat. All of the sauces were so good. They were probably a bit spicy to a lot of people, but I LOVED them. The staff was extremely friendly, and the restaurant had a cute big city feel. While I was in the restroom washing my hands, I also noticed they had free feminine products, which is very thoughtful. If I were local, this would be a very frequent stop for me.

Marissa P.

Yelp
This place has amazing crispy pork, shrimp spring rolls and mango sticky rice! My partner is an Island princess and she loved this place after one bite of food!

Emily A.

Yelp
Visited 5/31/24. Got takeout from here while visiting Wandering Leaf. The takeout system was smooth and easy while browsing on the phone. The only thing they don't do is give you updates when it's ready so just be prepared for this and pay attention to the time provided on your email verification. We all split the veg egg rolls and then my mom and I split the Naem Khao and my sister got the garlic noodles. Everything we ate was very good with a lot of flavor. The egg rolls weren't my absolute favorites but I adored the crispy rice from the Naem Khalid and the noodles my sister got were delish! Overall a perfect spot to go especially for dinner paired with drinks at Wandering Leaf!

Hnou V.

Yelp
Simple and delicious. The wings had a light umami taste to it and can be eaten without dipping sauce. The eggrolls were crispy and fresh. The pork belly had a crispy shell and a soft chewy meat and fat underneath. I just wished it was a bit warmer. The sticky rice was cooked to perfection. We ordered take out since there was only three tables in the restaurant. We sat next door in Wandering Leaf. I recommend pairing the food with the Super Lao Key beer.

Mihir P.

Yelp
once a food truck, now has a storefront! this place just did a soft opening recently. it's located in the strip mall on the northeast corner of 7th and Davern (the one with the Aldi), right next door to Wandering Leaf brewery (one of our favorite spots). we wandered over to Wandering Leaf on a wednesday and saw that Soul Lao was finally open. we'd been waiting for a while, so I decided to have some Laotian with my beer(s). the menu is pretty small, but that may be because this is only a soft opening. the crispy coconut rice sounded fantastic, but i had to go with the pork belly. it was amazing! the perfect ratio of crispy skin, fat, and meat, in bite size pieces. it came with a green curry dipping sauce that is not for the casual hot sauce user. the heat is one of those that lingers well after you've finished chewing. the egg rolls were also very good. think Filipino lumpia, but fatter and with more pork inside. on our next venture over, i will definitely try out the coconut rice. so, get some takeout, wander next door to the brewery, and have yourself a wonderful wednesday (or any day of the week) evening like we did!

Jim M.

Yelp
I've gotten takeout three times now. A couple of times when we were next-door at the brewery. I think the food is outstanding. Off the charts good flavors. My only complaint is that it is pretty darn expensive. We're not overly worried about that, so it doesn't affect my rating. But before warned that it's on the expensive side.

Cleo H.

Yelp
The food is all hype! Not worth the money, at all. Worst $80 I've spent on food. They should really put on their menu if there are certain foods not cooked all the way. Otherwise I wouldn't have ordered Laab for my pregnant 8 month self that comes medium rare- it's not that hard to put on the menu - Medium rare charcoal grill steak. The portion was definitely lacking too. For the price, that half cup of meat and everything else is veggies portion is not cutting it. I'd like to pay for the meat, not for the veggies. The Naem Khao- no taste of coconut and the rice was at least 2 day old rice. That crispy rice is not a good crisp of rice, it's just hard. I've had many Naem Khaos at other restaurants and even made my own and I've never tasted ones that were hard rice. There is a difference between harden days old rice and crispy rice! The eggrolls were way too salty! Salt is to enhance the flavor not be the only flavor! Way too much salt for an eggroll. The wings were crispy. It was decent and good if you like sweet and fish sauce. I didn't mind it. It was the only thing I could scuff down my through. All hype no actual flavor or authenticity.

Joe I.

Yelp
The 13 year old and I had a meal without the female contingent of the family and I really wanted to go to Wandering Leaf and try Soul Lao. They had wings so that convinced him. The wings (he got his with no spice) we're huge and delicious. He loved them. I got the vegan khaopoon (I love mock duck) and it was very good. I didn't get it was a soup - it is ramen-esque. Staff were very friendly. Love being able to eat it next door at Wandering Leaf. I'd happy come back and absolutely will.

Kimberly G.

Yelp
I dream about soul Lao. If I could afford to eat here every day- ngl I'd probably do it. Noakeos eggrolls? Immaculate. Khao soi haeng? What dreams are made of. And don't even get me started on khao mun gai tod!! That garlic rice!! Not to mention it shares a space with wandering leaf brewery, and they even have a specialty beer brewed in collaboration. It's amazing.

Peter P.

Yelp
Ordered online for a pick up. Although there are 3 small tables on premise, take out is a better option I think. Ordered their favorites: coconut rice, pork belly (really crispy skin and tender meat), chicken wings (large size chicken wings and fried to perfection), fried chicken and rice. They are prepared well and I would definitely consider this spot a must repeat place to go to.

McKenzie S.

Yelp
We have been patiently waiting for Soul Lao to open and were so excited when we could finally try out their new location! We went to Wandering Leaf and ordered our food from there. They make it super easy by having QR Codes on all the tables. Then you just wait for a text to pick it up next door. We only ordered the wings but wowza, that's all you need. Well, I'm sure all of their food is delicious but the wings were extra yummy. Crispy with a punch of flavors. Not too salty. So good and would highly recommend for any wing lover! They especially pair nicely with a beer! We will be back!

Mark H.

Yelp
I so desperately wanted to love Soul Lao but I didn't. Any one issue I have could have lead me to overlook the flaw but I can't. I am writing this so hopefully they will improve and I will give it a second chance in a month...and if this day was a fluke then I will update my review. First the pricing is out of whack of the food, portion size, ambiance, location. I respect running a resturuant is expensive but higher price leads to less demand. $19 for a rice plate with chicken on top. Roasted pork belly $19. Not a bad price for a food hall environment downtown Minneapolis. Not here. 20-30% too expensive. The chicken was too salty to enjoy. It was just heavily salted it was HEAVILY salted. I am familiar with Laotian food and am Asian myself. This was not tolerable. Finally their Tock online ordering time estimates are very wrong. Time is money. Estimated time vs actual time the food was ready....+20 minutes to the original promise. All in all support your small businesses but this one needs improvement

Skylor B.

Yelp
I love the authentic Laotian food and service was amazing. The food came out fast and place was clean and nice. Would definitely recommend anything on the menu since it's all very special and made with quality. Prices are on point and portions are just right.

Bill C.

Yelp
Best wings in town hands down. Green beans are fire. Very nice folks! Love it.... Great that you can order ahead and pick up for the brewery next door.

Ashley S.

Yelp
The chicken wings are very crispy & full of flavor. The roasted pork was juicy and didn't lack any flavor and probably my favorite on the menu. The restaurant was small so you have to order to go but they have your food ready pretty fast. I can appreciate that they check your order before giving it to you because I hate when I'm missing sauces that come with my meal.

Eduardo G.

Yelp
Best pork belly in the Twin Cities! No doubt. They service is wonderful, they are invested with their customers, and continue to experiment with their menu, which I think it's awesome! The restaurant is small to actually eat there, but I know they are doing changes in order to accommodate people in their. Otherwise the brewery next door is great to eat your food there.

Derek H.

Yelp
The food and service were great. Some of the best chicken wings I've had in my life. The crispy rice was a little too crunchy, but the Naem Khao was otherwise great. Highly recommended.

Lani J.

Yelp
Have been meaning to try this spot for some time. Everything was excellent. So flavorful and interesting. Highly recommend as carryout and taking next door to enjoy a beer at Whistling Leaf Brew Pub.

Sean W.

Yelp
During my stay in Bloomingdale (near the MoA), this newly opened spot appeared on Eater's hottest new restaurants of December 2023. Given it's close to my hotel and I've never had Laotian food, I'd figured I'd check it out. I ordered there signature Pork Belly Rice Dish (Moo Pin $21), and I must say it was pretty goddamn good! I've had my share of Chinese Cantonese-style roasted meats, but this joint is top tier. Even eaten in takeout-mode, the pork belly is still crispy and succulent, and paired well with their Spicy Pineapple sauce & sticky rice. I highly recommended trying this dish and spot out! I definitely would go again on my next Minneapolis trip, to try the rest of the menu!

EatMe X.

Yelp
The laab is delicious, but portion is stingy for $21. The wings were good, but again so small for $19. Not impressed with the fish wrap either. Too bland and again, overpriced for the portion. I'm sad because I really wanted to like it here. I'm sorry, but with so many good Southeast Asian restaurants to choose from, it'll be an easy decision to go elsewhere unless portions change. The quality here is good, but does not justify the price and we're leaving still kinda hungry.

D J.

Yelp
I love supporting local eats and this place has good food. I will say they are quite overpriced and they need to expand the menu. I think they would get more customers if they did. What I had was really good. I would just like more options.

Ian M.

Yelp
Wow! New crave-able Asian food spot! Discovered this place by accident, surfing Yelp on a Saturday evening. Came to find out it's had a long reputation for some killer menu items like the Naem Khao. So I ordered 4 things: the OG wings, the crispy pork belly, Naem Khao and the shrimp salad. They were all delicious. The pork belly was the crispiest I've ever seen or eaten anywhere before, plus the sauces were delicious. I was skeptical of the wings based on the pictures, but they were incredibly delicious, crispy and sweet and umami. The Naem Khao was excellent and a huge portion. Plus the shrimp salad was delicious, though I should've gone spicier (the most mild option was not spicy, but given it was my first try, I'd rather go not spicy enough than too spicy, ya know?). What's even cooler is that my food was ready exactly at the time the ordering app predicted, and the staff behind the counter was super friendly while carrying a baby :) Overall super stoked and excited to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Food is amazing! The coconut rice with tofu is fantastic and so is the pork belly. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
The service was courteous and prompt. Place is small but there are tables at place next door. They seem to have some type of agreement The food was superb. Really excellent. I get good variety in LA but this really one of the best places I've eaten in a while .

Yelp
Tried this place a week back and had the O.G wings. Service was fast and friendly which is always nice but let's talk about the wings. At first glance the $20 price tag seems a bit hefty for wings but when the plate comes out the price is rightfully justified by the size of the wings. I'm not the biggest wing fan I mean I like them but don't seek them out often but these were very good. Not traditional "American" wing flavor either which I loved. If you're a fan of Asian cuisine and love wings I would definitely try it out but if your like me and just like wings I don't think it's a must try.

Yelp
The whole fried Branzino at Soul Lao is the best dish in the Twin Cities right now. Absolute perfection!
