Sound River Studios

We booked Sound River Studios for our wedding of 140 guests in early June after looking for a reasonably-priced, raw open space in the NYC area. We were immediately impressed by the large venue, with a beautiful backdrop of the NYC skyline right by the water as well as the supreme competence of Una who knew every detail of the venue and was extremely responsive to any questions we may have had. Our vision for our wedding was to have a Chinese-American style banquet and Sound River Studios was the perfect venue for just that. The raw open space allows for creativity and versatility. We were able to plan the wedding just the way we wanted it, and Una was very helpful in ensuring our day went smoothly working with our vendors and wedding planners. We also booked the open-bar with Sound River Studios and had the amazing pleasure of working with Tijana. We were so impressed with the open-bar; the drinks were phenomenal, and service was top-notch. All our guests were so impressed with the bar and we heard so many amazing things about the bartenders as well! We also booked the bridal suite for us to have our traditional tea ceremony prior to our ceremony and for getting ready. It was spacious, and just overall perfect for the bridal party & family. We have been getting non-stop compliments from our friends and family about how beautiful the wedding was and the amazing views of the NYC skyline (especially as the sun sets!) Can’t thank the team from SRS enough!! Our wedding was perfect!! Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!

10/10 love working here. I am a wedding photographer based in NC but service NYC a lot. I have shot here for two weddings and I am IN LOVE. This place is a blank canvas and a wedding photographers dream. The staff is sooo nice and communicative and every time I get to work here I am always so excited. The views can't be beat and there is so many unique spots you can use for your wedding photos. Your photographer will love you I promise if you book this place!

SRS was the perfect venue for our wedding. Our families were so impressed with the location, the gorgeous views across the river, and the ability to have an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. Everyone we worked with was professional and responsive and willing to go the extra mile - especially Una! We had the perfect day and highly recommend!!

Amazing venue and great hosts to work with. We held a 200 person wedding here and it was spectacular. The space really allows you to be creative and design the wedding that you want, its a blank canvas with NYC as your backdrop. What more can you ask for? Una and her team were amazing as well and worked hand in hand with our wedding planner to make our day flawless.

If I were to re-do my wedding 100 times over, it would be at SRS! Una, Tijana, and the rest of our vendors (Gala, Creative catering) that work with SRS made our day nothing short of magical. You cannot beat that NYC skyline view and the chance to completely transform a space to have your dream event. Our families were so impressed with everything. 100000/10 highly recommend.

Many of our guests told us this was the classiest event they had ever been to - SRS is just such a beautiful space with gorgeous views. We loved that there were indoor and outdoor areas for our guests to enjoy, there was ample dining space, and a dance floor. The SRS team was really wonderful: Responsive, organized, friendly, helpful, flexible, creative, and made it a seamless event. We had THE BEST time there. 10/10, it couldn't have been better.

SRS is everything you see in the photos, and more. The space comes together so beautifully and is so customizable. Una is kind, responsive, and was super helpful with all the little questions that came up along the way. We had our wedding ceremony and reception with 180 guests at SRS in early September and we were so beyond happy with how it all turned out. The lighting and views in the afternoon/sunset are unmatched! Our guests are still texting us about the space and how perfect it was.

We had our wedding at Sound River Studios on 11/3/2018 and we couldn't be happier with it. All night and ever since, we have been hearing about what a special venue it was. Truly, the view and location cannot be beat. We both have very large families and it was a challenge to find a space in NYC that we actually liked but was spacious enough to accommodate everyone we wanted to invite and as soon as we saw it, we knew that SRS was it. Moreover, although they definitely know what they're doing and have many events a month there, we never felt like we were just another wedding. Una gave us individualized attention and felt like our friend by the time the wedding day came. On the day, she helped us from start to finish and we really couldn't have done it without her. We wanted our wedding day to be personal and unique to us and Sound River Studios allowed us to do that and within our budget - it is truly a hidden gem for NYC weddings and I absolutely can't recommend it enough.

SRS made our day more perfect than we ever imagined it could be. We live in Astoria and frequented Anable Basin (the neighboring bar). We "jokingly," said, "We have to get married here (as in Anable Basin). Little did we know that there was the MOST AMAZING event venue right next door. Sound River Studios and Una made our day a dream -- something out of a storybook. The venue alone, just for photo purposes, is STUNNING. The views are so unmatched that you almost don't need a professional photographer -- literally, every phone photo looks like something that could be put in a magazine. Aside from how picturesque the venue is, Una and the SRS staff are a well-oiled machine. Listen to them, trust them, and give your most precious day over to them -- you won't regret it!

Sound River Studios is a hidden gem. I cannot gush enough about this venue and neither could our guests! My husband and I had our wedding there on November 7, 2021 and could not be happier with the space and the staff! Trust me when I say, book Sound River Studios for your event. To elaborate, SRS is privy to the most breathtaking view of Manhattan. You really feel like you are getting up close and personal with the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, and the skyline in general. Then, there is the venue itself. It is quite stunning with its all white industrial aesthetic and grand size. As you walk in, you are lured by the columns throughout and cannot help but gape at the incredibly high ceilings. It's a blank slate waiting to be transformed but can also hold it's own as a crisp beautiful hall. Sound River Studios really is the most versatile venue. The main floor includes a long entrance hallway, bathrooms, and large kitchen space. The second floor has a spacious green room/bridal suite with a full bathroom and kitchenette. The windows in the suite overlook the front entrance; which are perfect for catching a sneak peek of your guests, or your significant other, as they arrive. We were thrilled to use this space for ease of keeping our things, hair & makeup, lunch, and not having to travel to the venue from our "getting ready spot". The SRS staff is way above par. Una, in particular, is the most passionate, the most caring, and the most professional. She does everything in her power to make sure your event goes off with out a hitch. She even goes the extra mile to make you feel like family. Una's excitement for you is clear from the moment you meet her. The venue also offers the option to use the LIC pier to extend your event (pending city permit approval). Luckily we were able to utilize the pier for our wedding ceremony, the outdoor venue space for the cocktail hour, and the hall for our reception. The weather was perfect for this, however, if the weather had turned, the venue provided the chance for easy backup options that were equally stunning to our original plan. If you're looking for an awesome vendors list, Sound River Studios' recommended vendors list is top notch. We ended up contracting many vendors on their list. Our wedding was absolutely magical. Sound River Studios is definitely to thank for that. Book SRS!

We had our wedding at Sound River Studios last month and it was truly a dream. The view is not to be believed! The space is humongous, and all my guests felt safe during this tumultuous time, which was really important to us. Una and the Sound River team are absolutely wonderful to work with. Would have my wedding here 1000 times over!

Sound River Studios was an amazing venue to host our wedding. We originally looked at the space in 2019 and fell in love. When we had to postpone our 2020 wedding to 2022, we were so happy we were still able have it at Sound River Studios and it could not have been more perfect. The skyline views are amazing and our guests could not stop talking about the view (or taking beautiful photos). This venue gives you a lot of flexibility to create the look and feel that you want. Una, the manager of the venue, is so knowledgeable and helpful and is able to recommend other great vendors to help you achieve that vision. We are so happy we had our wedding there and would highly recommend!

During the wedding venue search, we probably looked at around 15 different places. Sound River Studios was the final place that we checked out and we fell in love with the space immediately. The view of the city skyline is spectacular. It looks amazing during the day and continues to look better as the sun goes down. It's the perfect backdrop for pictures. They have their own private dock in their outdoor area which you can use. We did not end up using it but we did strongly consider making a grand entrance by boat haha. The inside is an empty space for you to design whatever look you want. We especially loved the high ceiling and natural light. Lastly, we worked with Una throughout the process. We originally planned to have our wedding in 2020 but had to postpone due to the pandemic. Una was very helpful making sure the transition to the new date was smooth. No issues with communication whatsoever. So happy that we decided to go with Sound River Studios!

I got engaged in 2019, and planned a whole wedding with Sound River for October 2020- of course, I had to push it a whole year! Sound River was extremely accommodative in pushing our date a full year, and helped ease a lot of our stress. Una, the venue coordinator, is an absolute gem! She is extremely organized, warm, and easy to work with. Our wedding celebration ended up being an absolute blast, and everyone kept commenting how magical the venue was with the NYC sky line. I would recommend Sound River to any friend who is looking to soak up NYC's beautiful sky line in a venue that can be a blank canvas for whatever style you want to go for! The recommended vendor list is amazing, and we used exclusively local vendors. It was an excellent choice! Thank you Sound River for making our day so magical.

My husband and I had the best experience working with Sound River Studios for our July 2019 wedding. We worked very closely with Una who is extremely responsive, sweet, and helpful. It may seem intimidating being such a raw space but you can truly make it your own. Our intention wasn't to impress people but our guests were definitely very impressed! I would get married there again and again :)

We just got married at Sound River Studios on May 1st, 2021. This was the best decision we have ever made. We picked Sound River back in 2019 when we were originally planning our wedding. Then the pandemic hit and Una from the management team was able to guide us and stick with us through 3 postponed wedding dates. We could not have had our dream wedding if it was not for all the help we received from Una at Sound River and we absolutely loved the way our wedding turned out when we were finally able to have our wedding. If you are looking for a venue with a WOW factor, this is the VENUE for you!!!!!! The Sound River Studios team is so helpful and the location is jaw dropping. Our guest could not have been more excited to come to take pictures and have the party of our lives. Between the view and the open space. This is the perfect "modern/warehouse" location for your wedding if you are not interested in the catering hall vibe. I cannot wait to see our professional pictures because even the photos from our guests iPhones were amazing. This venue is spectacular, Highly recommend

We hosted a charity cocktail party at SRS and it was perfect. From the first visit of the venue through the party follow up Steve and the team at SRS was there! They were helpful, professional, and kind. The venue is great, spacious, and has an amazing view. We were nervous to move our annual party from Manhattan to LIC but our guests reported it was the best venue yet. I would highly recommend!

We just got married at Sound River Studios one month ago and every day I wish we were doing it again! Una and Steve were incredibly helpful and always made themselves available when it was convenient for us. The space itself is a blank canvas which was definitely daunting for me, but we were able to create a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony and reception while keeping things relatively simple. There is so much opportunity for creativity in a space like SRS! Our guests were so enthusiastic about how they loved the space and how it was so different than many of the weddings they've been to. We tented the outdoor area so that our guests could spend time there, and even though it was quite cold, many of them hung out taking in the view! My husband and I live in the neighborhood, so having our wedding at Sound River felt very "us", and like a way to share our life together with all of our guests (many from out of town). We just loved it!
