Sourire Le Restaurant

"Blue velours banquette seating, old-school bistro tables, hand-picked producers (Galician pink veal, Clavisy Farm lamb): the tried-and-tested formula hits the spot, eg scallops from the Bay of Morlaix, cabbage medley, candied lemon. The lunchtime set menu provides two options for every course. A sister restaurant in the 5th arrondissement serves tapas in the evening and brunch at the weekend… enough to bring a smile to anyone's face!" - Michelin Inspector

We dined at Sourire early on a Saturday evening in July as the Olympics got underway and enjoyed an excellent meal. While seven courses plus appetizers and "sweets" might seem daunting, the portions were perfectly sized and spaced. The chef offered fresh and intriguing dishes that were beautifully presented. Our server was attentive and engaging, yet we never felt rushed. Also, they graciously accommodated my partner's food allergy on one course. We left completely satisfied and at ease.

We had a lovely evening. The scallop dish was so good I still remember after a month. The place felt understaffed though, making the entire dining experience less personal since the employees are rushing.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! 🍽️ The staff provided courteous and smiling service in English. They recommended red and white wines that perfectly complemented each meat and fish dish. The interior was neatly organized and had a stylish ambiance. I enjoyed an elegant time. I thought it was great that you can enjoy the lunch course at a reasonable price. 😊🍷

Good food and nice service ! We tried the tasting menu for lunch. In overall, the food was tasty and the wine pairing is excellent. I loved the fish course and the avocado ice cream. Very nice decoration, warm and cozy. Not so crowded and you can chat with the staffs. Really appreciate how they can keep the pricing reasonable and accessible for everyone. Looking forward to try the tapas restaurant of the chef.

What a marvelous find! We walked in with no reservation around 2pm and they wowed us with presentation of amuse bouche and 3 courses. No idea it was so fancy from google reviews. Best meal we had in Paris!

Marvellous appetisers! Although I personally prefer the food dish from 2021. Nice food but poor service. The server asked if we want coffee after the course. He did not ask what kind of coffee we want. Anyways we only ordered coffee. However, when the coffee was prepared, he served us coffee with the snacks on plate. The cost for the snacks was charged without prior explanation. It was bit out of the blue.

It is a super nice gastronomy restaurant at reasonable price. I have a respect for the only two chefs at the cuisine who made all the varieties of foods for one set menu. We have come back multiple times and they never disappoint us. Highly recommended!!

This place will definitely make you smile. The food and as exquisite and the price was low for the quality. The six courses somehow became 8. Each course topped the last for inventiveness. The penultimate course, cheese, served as a toasted bread crescent holding a warmed cheese spread was delightful. If that won’t make you smile I don’t what will.

Yelp
My wife and I left the kids at home so we could enjoy a nice meal out. We stumbled across Le Sourire through TheFork and chose it specifically because they had a few very well described items on their menu with interesting combinations and had a tasting menu option. What ensued was one of the best meals we've ever had. We decided on the Menu Sourire " 6 Temps " and let the restaurant decide what to do for us. I also requested a wine pairing with each course. Due to the five glasses of wine I received, the exact number of courses I received is hard to recall but we feel pretty certain it was somewhere between eight and eleven Each course is delicately prepared with an incredibly inventive combination of flavors. For example: A melon salad;melons thinly sliced and served as six cylinders; two each stuffed with: pistachio butter, cream cheese and butter nut squash topped with a basil sorbet. I don't know how many trial and error iterations it took the chef to come up with this combination of flavors, but I'm glad he persevered. The same inventiveness can be said for every course. Additionally, each wine brought to the table was described in full with a great explanation of why it was selected and specifically which course it goes with - this was very much appreciated as I love to drink great wine but prefer others to pick it out. I'm pretty sure I heard English being spoken in the kitchen, but I refuse to speak English when in France and the maître/server allowed me to converse with him in French despite the fact that my French is terrible. He was patient and simply a great host. Come hungry and with time on your hands; it took us almost three of the best hours of our lives to fully enjoy this restaurant and its incredible food. Spendy, but you get what you pay for. Thank you, Le Sourire, for the amazing meal.

Yelp
We were staying in the Port Royal in Paris recently (Spring 2019) and only discovered this restaurant because we had to walk by it every day on our way home, and we kept catching whiffs of something delicious cooking as we passed. So we tried it out, on a Thursday evening. It was easily the best restaurant we ate at during the week we were in Paris. Clever and tasty amuse-bouches to start and end the meal, such as three tiny egg-shaped breads brought out on a nest of straw with a side of pork-based sauce. Everything we had we ate every bit of. The proprietor was very helpful and friendly and explained each item on the dish as he brought them out. Not inexpensive, but you're actually getting what you pay for--a comfortable evening of amazing, beautiful, and artfully prepared food.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my meal here! These guys have a tapas bar near Notre Dame that I regularly go to, so I was happy to find out that they had opened up a more upscale restaurant in the 13th arrondissement. And they did not disappoint! It's a fixed menu (you can chose between 4 dishes or 6 dishes). All their ingredients are fresh and picked out every morning. Everything I tasted was delicious - started with scallops and rhum/vanilla sauce (perfection!), followed by forest mushrooms with a perfectly poached egg (another perfection!). The main was a cod loin and the desert: white chocolate ice cream with crumble. Great atmosphere and top notch service (which is hard to come by in Paris!). Definitely recommend :)

Yelp
Wow. This restaurant is spectacular. Food is amazing. Among the best meal I had in France, ever. We took the 6 course menu, every single dish was brilliant.

Yelp
I had a great time at sourire le restaurant... Service was lovely, the food amazing and the place is very nice. You can choose from a 4 or 6 steps menu. Everything is delicious, sometimes surprising, and looks great. Perfect for a birthday, a gift, a celebration, business lunch\dinner... Enjoy!!!
