Cute, cozy traditional Italian cafe. Very old school with classic items like tiramisu, thin crust pizza, fresh pasta and more. Highly recommend for folks looking for Italian food in the south beach area!

So full of promise but so disappointing. Some new blood needed. Displaying Costco bought cookies etc in the plastic container is not inspiring. And maybe put away the boxes and folding tables in the back, instead of where your customer sit? The one plus is that the coffee is very tasty.

Sunny corner cafe with outdoor seating and a view of the water! We ordered the vegetarian egg and cheese sandwich that had the most fluffy eggs. The owner very kindly cut it in half and brought it on two separate plates for us even though we didn't ask. Thank you, we will be frequenting this place more often!

Lovely owners. Great views. A place with a character. The food items seem like a standard breakfast / sandwich (and pizza!) fare, but are made with love - not your usual, generic sandwich. I got a tuna sandwich, served with salad - very delicious. Fast wifi available, though this is not a place to sit and work all day (but good for an hour or two when waiting).

South Beach Cafe has been my 5 star place for over 20 years. Everything on the food menu has been sampled by me. The Cafe is clean, comfortable and spacious. The owner and his wife are very friendly and understand the SOMA culture. The location is on point for people watching, nature, and relaxing for a drink. I recommend the pizza of any style. The sandwiches are made to order and the bread is a type of ciabatta. For a quick breakfast, I usually order the scrambled eggs.

Decent pizza and service but the best of all is the view and fresh air. Had the chicken pesto pizza. It was light and crunchy but the chicken was a bit too bland.

Today I felt like grabbing some pizza with a couple of colleagues and we ended up going to this place. We had a great time and the food was really good. Both owners were very friendly, especially the lady behind the counter. Will definitely come back.

Cool neighborhood cafe, with walk up counter service. Deli style. A small but open interior, with lots of windows and natural light. Closely set tables and chairs and even a few spots out front. It was not busy inside but folks came and went with togo orders my entire visit. After a view of the menuboard(s) I went for the Turkey sandwich (#27), it was made fresh to order and prepared beautifully served with a nice side of fresh salad greens, with evoo. The warm sandwich was really very good and my spot outside on the corner on a sunny afternoon, not bad spot to enjoy it all. A lot of options here for food and beverage and my afternoon visit was really nice and enjoyable. 4 stars a good sandwich at a cool little corner cafe down on the wharf 00946

Food, service and ambiance are great! We will definitely come back again. It's about 45 minutes drive but it's worth the drive.

No bathroom and smoky but the pinsa with prosciutto, stracciatella, arugula, and cherry tomatoes was amazing! Felt at home with my Italian community!

The food was awful! I ordered the scrambled eggs with ham and cheese and I got this mush that was barely edible due to the amount of awful cheese. The plate also came with a microwaved and freezer burned hash brown and bread that was the only thing that was edible. The vanilla latte tasted watered down. After I sat down, the owner stared at me the entire time. I'm not sure if he was trying to gauge my reaction to the food. I also felt unwelcomed, not sure why but it was a crappy cherry on top of the bad experience.

I came in to get a cup of coffee because I was on a break from driving and I wanted some more energy. The second I walk in the guy yells across the room. We don't have a bathroom. He assumed I just came to use the restroom but unfortunately they lost a good customer. They assumed key word and no one should be discriminated based upon an assumption.

Since childhood, South Beach Cafe has been a cherished part of my life, a beacon of unwavering consistency and warm embrace of the Italian owners. Whether you are in the mood for a latte paired with a delightful dessert or craving pizza that goes above expectations, such as the Chicken Pesto or Pepperoni, this place never fails. It stands as one of the crowning culinary gems in San Francisco. For those fortunate enough to find themselves near the Embarcadero, a visit to this place is a must!

This is a special place, the reviewers complaining should go to a hipster spot somewhere else, basically anywhere else SF. The owners have been there forever, which is a gem in the time of absentee restauranteurs and people who have just given up because the restaurant and cafe business is just that difficult. I'd recommend having a coffee, pizza, salad, or whatever from them. Now again, if you're a real fussy person and believe everything should be overpriced and gourmet, don't come here. If you need fake smiles and fake compliments from the front if the house, don't come here. But if you want to have a legit conversation with the owners here, they are it. In that way, this is a real New Yorkers cafe in San Francisco. Anyway, most of us love it. Enjoy!

I got the salmon salad, which has smoked salmon, walnuts, arugula, and bread. I can see that they didn't put in any efforts in making this a gourmet salad.... they just threw in some arugula, raw walnuts, and a few pieces of smoked salmon. Something is off about the taste of smoked salmon, which made me not feeling well after eating it. Definitely not the normal smoked salmon taste you get from buying at a grocery store. It has a really fishy taste. The bread that comes with it are also really stale. I won't come back again given its taste and concerns about their food quality.

I have a ' Feeling ' that if they started selling " PIZZA BY THE SLICE " like PIZZALICIOUS till Late onCastro St. , and Marcello's / Escape from N.Y. etc. PESTO Mushroom & PESTO POTATO etc. - They will get ' packed ' - Esply. on GAME & Concert days since they are near " ORACLE PARK " & " CHASE STADIUM " !!!!

I Went in to get a bagel was met with a rude older man , which I was told prior that he seemed alil bias toward POC , but I wanted to give it a chance and I really wanted a bagel he serviced two women ahead of me (non POC) with a friendly smile . However when I came to the register the smile faded away . "All food will be a 20min wait" , he said. No hi , no goodmorning just rude so I walked right out . No thank you !

Friendly neighborhood place run by a lovely Italian couple. Delicious sandwiches, thin crust pizzas and salads. Coffee is yum too or the Italian sodas or cold beers/wine are a go to on a warm day or after a Giants game or while watching soccer on the TV. Easter and Christmas holidays are special for their imported Italian fruit breads to buy and eat at home. Highly recommend multiple visits

At South Beach Cafe there is indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and patient. They have a selection of a variety of beer and wine. I decided to try the Antonio Pizza. I absolutely loved it and want to go back to try the other pizzas. The pizza came cut into four huge slices which I split with my boyfriend. The saltiness from the prosciutto balanced with the mozzarella well. The basil and tomato added a nice freshness to the pizza.

This place is very cozy and calm! The prices are really good. If they would work on their presentation and the design of behind their glass i'm sure it would be much better. Staff were friendly and clean. Also i ordered extra salmon it doesn't come with that much of salmon.

They got sandwiches and pizza...and it's kind of more expensive. I had not spent time around here and stopped by for a lunch but u should bring your work lunch. Anyway had the tuna and it had some beans and a foccacia bread. It had salad on side. Fun to try near the stadium.

Came here to take a break and had the tiramisu. It was not bad at all, perfect place by the water to have a little treat.

I'm not sure if these are paid reviews or how this place is even still open. Complete waste of time and money for what looked to be a supermarket oven pizza that was just heated up. The owner, the older gentleman, was there today and he is extremely rude and unprofessional. I saw other reviews here talking about his attitude problem, and they were right. Save yourself the misery. HARD PASS.

Ok first will put my compassion hat on....older gentlemen seems like things are not going well...sad. Now down to business. This place is expensive and this dude is outright obnoxious and rude. Hands me a half wrapped breakfast sandwich.... which cost 12 dollars. No thank you's or nothing. You are probably going to get better service and good food at other locations nearby. I recommend you pass.

Good coffee, delicious pizza I am a soccer fan and often desperate to find a place where I can watch my favorite match with like minded fans. South Beach Cafe is one of my favorite destination on match days. They have a good size TV, serve good coffee, beer, wine, delicious pizza and more. The last time I was there watching a match, I ordered a couple of coffee drinks during the game and jumped up and down like a madman so much that I was starving at the end. So I sat down like a semi civilized soccer fan and ordered me a Salmon Salad, delicious! If you are thinking pizza, their South Beach pizza is pretty good.

2.5 STARS For part one of my weekly office lunch, I decided to try South Beach Cafe. Our delivery order arrived via Caviar on Friday, May 25th a little after 12 noon. *Pollo Sandwich: Chicken breast, tomatoes brie and gorgonzola, Served with mix green and arugula ($9) *South Beach Pizza: Prosciutto, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil ($11) I ended up getting the chicken sandwich. I liked the brie and the provided mixed green salad, but I didn't think the chicken would be shredded and made into something like a chicken salad. It wasn't what I was expecting. And a weird texture as I found the chicken dry. Would have been better as a whole piece of chicken as I think it would have made for a tastier sandwich. Otherwise, I adored the pesto and other ingredients. I didn't try the pizza, but my coworker seemed to enjoy it. Just meh sandwiches. Reminded me of something I could get at a particular coffee shop with a green logo. Nothing really special.

Terrible service and the owner is extremely rude. Would not recommend this place and will not be visiting again. Very disappointing since I love the area.

This super cute coffee shop is right across from my friend's apartment in San Francisco and the location is amazing! It is right by the bay and you can see all the boats as well as the pier! We got the coffee as well as two pizzas: the Vegeteriana and well as the Bruschetta pizza! I really liked both of the pizzas, they were fresh and super tasty. I was not a big fan of the coffee because it was a little strong for me, but I'm just not a coffee person in general. They also had really cute seating outside and since covid the indoor seating was closed, but overall the service was great and the food was also tasty! I will definitely be coming here for my snacks!

South Beach Cafe has been consistent for the past 15 years that I've been visiting. They are super efficient and can usually finish up an order within 10-15 minutes. I enjoy the cracker thin crust, meaty prosciutto and creamy mozzarella. I would recommend it and will continue to be back!

I love South Beach Cafe and come here every week to watch soccer games! #TeamBarca My favorite dishes are the beef lasagna, caldo verde (sometimes the daily soup special), Roma salad, veggie scrambled eggs and hash browns, and any pizza honestly! Plus, Consuelo is super friendly and likes to get to know her customers. They make me feel at home in this cozy cafe.

The Woman who works here is nice and makes the food good , on the other hand the old man just never seems to show any type of respect he's a fucking asshole and is rude even though I come pretty Often but today will probably be my last time coming since this guy just never has a positive attitude . If he throws your change disrespectfully on the counter don't take it personal other people have told me he does the same to them Ohh and make sure he charges you for what you order I've caught him charging an extra dollar one time and I'm sure he's done it before I just haven't noticed untill today , I was going to confront him about it but I thought mabe he does it because COVID probably impacted their business so I just decided not to say anything but either way it's still not cool to over charge without letting you know

I live in dubai for the last 15 years! I found south beach cafe 5 years ago through a friend! I believe it is the only place I eat in San Francisco! It is not fancy but best food and location and ambiance! Family run and a great place to watch European futbol or World Cup! Best expresso in SF, best pizza in San Francisco; best salads in San Francisco! ! Gotta drop in if you are ever in the city! Consuelo when are you opening in dubai?

It was obvious that the staff member was not happy to see us. He was very gruff and lacked all hospitality. Little to no effort was put into preparing our food.

So I got the smoked salmon salad which was basically drenched in vinegar and inedible. They were out of the thing that my friend really wanted to have. The owner? Could not be bothered to crack a smile. The house wine was a generous pour and the music was great but I can't imagine ever coming back.

We wanted a quick/easy breakfast and coffee so we stopped in here. I got a mocha and my wife got a vanilla latte with almond milk, both just tasted like scorching hot bland black coffee. We ended up tossing them and going to blue bottle instead. There was only one older guy working and he didn't seem very friendly, didn't say the usual "thanks for coming in." He was also cooking our food without a mask which, fine he was behind the counter by himself. But he coughed multiple times while making our food which, left a bad taste in our mouth (pun very much intended). We are the food anyway and it ended up being decent, so I bumped up one star for that. Hate leaving bad reviews just because you never know what's going on with people or with a business. But the meal wasn't cheap and we didn't have a good experience.

Good dishes and services at a reasonable price. They mainly serve pizzas and sandwiches, both were good. South Beach pizza had tasty prosciutto on a thin crispy crust. Turkey sandwich had a lot of turkey ham. Soccer fans might enjoy eating and watching a soccer match on their TV.

South Beach Cafe is a cozy little café on a corner near the ballpark and with a view of the bay that is excellent for a nice cup of joe. I've found South Beach Cafe to be a favorite place to have a nice chat over a wonderfully made cup of coffee. Despite it being close to AT&T park, the area is rather quiet as it is surrounding by apartment complexes and the bay as opposed to the many businesses just a couple blocks away. This allows the café to be a nice place to relax. It's away from all the busy chatter and lines of other cafés in the area. The coffee here is great and so is the service. They make wonderful espresso based drinks and have been rather consistent throughout my visits here. The workers here are exceptionally friendly which makes the experience all the better. They also appear to be fans of FC Barcelona and air their games here so if you want to watch Messi score some sick goals, this is the place to be! I've found the food here to be delicious as well. The prices are reasonable and the food is quite simple which is nice in a way since many restaurants in the area are a bit pricy and can tend to overcomplicate their dishes to follow food trends. I've tried a bit of their pizza which comes in a nice thin crust and has a homemade feel to it. I've also tried their prosciutto sandwich which tastes fresh and delicious with a perfectly melted layer of cheese. It also comes with a side salad with a vinaigrette and cherry tomatoes that taste fresh as well.

I visited South Beach Cafe for the first and last today. My family's goal was to support a local business and its unfortunate that the business I chose to patron was South Beach Cafe. So, let me tell you why I'm giving it such a poor review. It's all because of the terrible and rude customer service experience that I had. When my wife and I walked into the business, instead of being properly greeted by the older gentleman behind the counter, who was the only employee at the time, we were met with a disinterested scour. The gentleman didn't even ask, "how can I help." I asked multiple questions about the menu and received multiple one (1) word answers. Ultimately, I decided to buy two (2) pizzas. The pizzas here are nine (9) inch or personal pans. The pizza comes with four (4) slices. I ordered a pepperoni and margherita pizza. Instead of asking, "do you want anything to drink, or is there anything else I can help you with," the gentleman lowly muttered, "wait outside and I'll bring it." My wife and I begrudgingly went outside and when the pizza was brought out to us, no words, he just dropped them down, on the bench we were sitting on. Ultimately, I thought this place had potential because its location (Embarcadero), outdoor seating, and local restaurant vibe, but, I was wrong. Customer service is EVERYTHING! I'll never patron here again, and the pizza was "only ok." If you want to support a local business, find another one that values your business.

I had one of the best ham, egg, and cheese croissants ever at this cafe! Perfectly seasoned, fluffy eggs, and flaky croissant. I'll definitely be back!

Very solid eatery with envious footing near the ball park. Close enough that it's a pre-game no brainer, but also far enough outside the mix of overcrowded bars and eateries of 3rd/4th and King. Pizza is the fan favorite here, with one size (almost) fits all servings. One is not enough for two people but 2 is too much- so go in a group. Wish they came with one more topping, but the sauces and crusts are great. The proprietor is a very gracious host that took great care of us service wise with her generous pours of wine. Overall, a place that I would definitely return to for pre-Giants game food and libations, especially when you consider the costs of stadium staples.

South Beach Cafe is one of my favorite places to go watch a match with the OM San Francisco crew. Whether I'm with my family or by myself they have always treated me like I'm a part of their family. I've had their pizzas, salads, beer and coffees and have always been satisfied. This is my go to when I'm in the area and truly recommend coming by when in town. #TeamOM

I'm going to start this review before the food even gets here. First of all. We are in a pandemic. We expect you to wear t Your mask, AND GLOVES while preparing our food!! Now, let's get to your attitude. We walk in, not greeted. We step up, no words. We order and no thank you, no I'll be right out, not did he sound appreciative for our patronage. Instead, we get an angry scowl with an even angrier voice accompanied by my being dropped on the counter, stating, have a seat outside. Drops food outside w no words at all! If you want average food at a high price with poor service and a bad attitude, then this place is for you! We will never come back. But we will make sure that out cycling groups and our meet up groups pass this place by from now on. They are the ones that recommended..

Food is below trash! Service is trash! The man who takes your order doesn't wear a mask and he is the same man who makes your food, doesn't even wash his hands!!! I was DISGUSTED!!!! I'm calling the county next to report him! Worst food ange worst service! This place is tacky! Should be closed down, embarrassing for Italians all around the Bay Area.

Great place! Love their salads and pizzas. Highly recommend to anyone ! Great for pickups during this time and definitely recommend to go out there when they will be open again. This spot is a neighborhood gem. Italian owners, who take pride in their restaurant. They have delicious food and great prices. We had the Margarita and pesto chicken pizza. Great tiramisu! We would 100% come back....thank you!

We are a small group of a French soccer team fans #TeamOM and South Beach Cafe is our home! The staff is so Friendly, nice, the food is tasty, healthy and for a very fair price. The napolitan pizza and the salmon are my favorite dish! Their ice tea is also very refreshing! This is a great cafe run by amazing people!

The food tasted good. Real sausage. The old Italian man was rude and unwilling to make us another another sandwich when I asked if he had bagels he sent us to a different location. Maybe he was having a bad day. Won't be going there again.

I always get the prosciutto sandwich. They toast the bread until it's nice and crispy, and it's a pretty big sandwich. Great deal with the salad for about $10. Decent amount of seating inside, and they even put tables outdoors for the nicer days. The people who run this cafe are Italian and super nice, and it's fun trying out my rudimentary Italian here. By rudimentary, I mean I only know how to say hi and bye. :D Lunch spot staple for sure.
