This place always smells so good when I walk by during lunch. I finally decided to stop by and purchase some items. Staff was very friendly, the items I bought were pralines and white chocolate covered peanuts however they tasted very old. I could taste that the nuts in the candies I bought were stale and old; I eventually threw away most of what I bought. This place has potential if they serve fresh items.

Can we say amazing! I work downstairs and my coworker recommended the dark chocolate....me eat dark chocolate..never. We went to a afternoon snack and I tried her dark chocolate bar...LISTEN, it was AMAZING! The best piece of chocolate ever. Also, their other products looks great!

I was very fortunate to visit the southern candy co on numerous occasions. I worked for the mgmt company in the 1990's. The candy was tremendous but the owner was also tremendous. I'll have to say he was a great golfer. I never did beat him. I really enjoyed the great candy but also appreciated his friendship.

Amazing customer service! Curbside I might add! I had difficulty parking especially with a storage pod on the top of my car. Thank you for making our family holiday perfect with pralines made to perfection!

I tried their dark chocolate covered Oreos, The dark chocolate peanut butter cup, and the milk chocolate truffles. I honestly wasn't very impressed. The chocolate was kind of waxy, especially the dark chocolate. It didn't have that rich dark chocolate flavor that I love so much. I will try the milk chocolate next time, but I was thoroughly underwhelmed this time.

I had a caramel apple in 1995 that was the worlds best. I’ve thought about it all these years. I finally found the name n brochure in my old journal. Yippee. Hope they re open n ship soon. 💗

They make the best Turtles of any place I've ever been. I wish they did mail order, because it's quite a hike for me .

Google
They NEVER answer their phone. I am trying to purchase pralines for a holiday gift and I live out of town. I have tried calling multiple times (8 times) at varying hours during their posted hours of operation with NO answer. Their website does not allow for eCommerce. It is 2018...disappointing.

Yelp
A pound of candy will cost you $18. That's cheaper than See's. Most of the candy is predominantly nut candy. So if you're allergic to nuts, the pickings are few and far between. I had the clerk fill a box of pecan candy - every version there is since this is a main staple. Clerk was friendly. Candy looks fresh.

Yelp
I was disappointed that they didn't have Carmel apples or fudge since they have images online advertising it. I bought some truffles instead and they were not fresh and didn't taste good. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the employee was really nice.

Yelp
Hey a candy store, Its on. Actually the stuff in here was very pleasing to the eye but I opted for just a few squares of their homemade caramel. At like 10 something for a pound I still walked away with a good sized amount for nothing. It was creamy and chewy without being too soft. Delicious. Can't speak for any of the other things in here including chocolates and sugared nuts of all kinds.

Yelp
I'm a New Orleans native and I love my pralines. This place does not disappoint! Anything that I buy from them is delicious - pralines, fudge, chocolate covered strawberries, gelato - you name it! They also have chocolate covered marshmallows, Rice Krispie treats, and Oreos. Their customer service is top notch. The owner is a delight. I'm so happy they moved into the building. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Was looking for some praline before we left town. Let me just say it took us about 12 minutes to actually find the place and both of us are pretty good with directions. It is inside the mall and the mall is completely torn up. Everything they sold looked pretty tasty but I think what we purchased made me sick. Service was quick and friendly. Counters and surrounding area's were pretty clean. However nothing in that mall looks very well kept at this point. Overall: nothing to write home about but praline was decent.

Yelp
Praline, praline, pralines!!! That's all I have to say. Samples, watching homemade sweetness come to life. What more do you want? Okay, so a box of pralines is $12+ but ... so... :P

Yelp
Best pralines I've ever had , Hands down better then the ones in New Orleans & savannah

Yelp
Traditional chocolate shops where they make the products right there in front of you are a dying breed, and I can't understand why. The smell of warm chocolate and sugar as you approach the storefront evokes mental images of hot fudge being pulled from an oven, or taffy being stretched out on a table. The piles upon piles of candies, chocolates, nuts, and combinations of all three should make you feel 5 again, ready to reach up as high as you can to grab a particularly tasty-looking treat from a shelf three feet off the floor. The Southern Candy Company can do all that and more, and I applaud them for sticking around in a world filled with the mass-produced mediocrity that we call candy these days. Whenever I'm in Atlanta, I make sure to stop by here and fill up on some of their homemade fudge creations or chocolate-drenched nut clusters. The Rocky Road Fudge in particular is heavenly, I would gladly buy a whole tray if it didn't cost quite so much. I'm even tempted to go back a second time during this stay, as I have yet to try the pralines and my curiosity may get the best of me.

Yelp
I was surprised to find this little boutique while walking around the Underground Shopping area. Upon entrance, I was a little disappointed that I asked for samples and none were offered nor given. On top of that, I asked for suggestions because I wanted to bring back treats for friends and family in California, and no one really serviced or helped out much. I ended up grabbing a bunch of stuff and left semi-satisfied. The chocolate cups were mediocre...the chocolate flavors here are weak and just taste sugary and super sweet, not much great cocoa quality here. Their best treats are the ones with the pecans and pralines. I think the best treat is the turtle (caramel with pecan nuts) in the glass case, or the brittles. Skip the chocolate cups..very heavy and just taste like syrup. Fudge is okay, too.

Yelp
Coming from a candy aficionado, I think these guys make the best pralines in town. Great customer service as well.

Yelp
The pecan pralines are to die for! Perhaps the best candy I have ever tasted (coming from someone with a refined sweet tooth that says alot) You can get like 6 saltwater taffy for $1. My fave flavor is strawberry.

Yelp
The flavored popcorn was good but a bit overpriced. I really wanted to try the blackberry one but it wasn't there. I got the mixed fruit one and the cherry one. The banana in the mixed fruit one was not a pleasant taste but the cherry one was my favorite. I would purchase more if I'm back in Atlanta.

Yelp
Bought two bags of Peanut Brittle and $8.95 a bag and ask the Manager to replace the bags and she became very rude and Hung up on me will not be getting no more of my Business!!! the candy is to High any way!!! have been coming there very years!!!

Yelp
Yah, If I happen to be at the Underground I definitely stop by and grab a few chocolate strawberries (1.00 each), a couple pralines (really tasty) and a few milk chocolate pretzels! You will follow the smell all the way up into their store. Lovely little candy shop!

Yelp
While vacationing in Atlanta...as a stop on our site-seeing we went to the Underground. I have always loved carmel apples w/nuts so I stopped into the candy store to get one, assuming they had some. The store was very nice and just as some of the other reviews have stated..they were well stocked in a variety of different treats. I asked the guy about a item that was layed out and drying. I thought they were carmel..and he informed me they were pecan pralines. I never had any and the employee was very nice and gave me a sample. I left the store apple in hand and decided to try the pralines as I looked around the rest of The Underground...as I bit into it..I couldn't believe how delicious it was. I wasn't at all what I expected. Needless to say I went back and bought some. I am from Ohio so we don't have any stores that carry those.. Being that Ive learned they are a southern favorite. I give the place 5 stars. If your ever in the area definitely stop in and try the pecan praline's and the carmel apples too. I wish they had an on line store have been craving those pralines since Ive been back home in Ohio!!!

Yelp
The chocolate tastes very cheap, like its made with low quality ingredients. It's mostly worth a stop in for the prepackaged items made elsewhere.

Yelp
Everytime we go to the Underground, I stop by for my White chocolate dipped oreaos. It smells so good in there. A little sweet piece of home. :) All their selections are yum!

Chris K.

Yelp
Very cute store with amazing homemade candies! Me and my sister always get like a pound of their saltwater taffies, and eat them on the drive home. I'm not a fan of Underground ATL, but this is one of the few stores I frequent whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
I was in Atlanta this weekend and I stumble in this candy store it was like I just landed in candy heaven! I try all the sample bought some chachollete for my son. The pecan is to die for. I wish we have this in Austin.

LaTonia W.

Yelp
THIS IS THE BEST CANDY SHOP I HAVE BEEN TO! Everytime I go to ATL I can't leave until I stock up! I take a cooler to keep my chocolates cool until I arrive back to Louisville, KY! Best service, no samples needed, just buy and you will LOVE EVERYTHING THEY HAVE TO OFFER!! Samples don't come free!!! ; P

Yelp
I was in the A on my tenth wedding Anny. and we went to the underground to look around. I went in the candy store and I feel in love there is so much GOOD SMELLING CANDY and CHOCOLATES in there. The service was great and the candy was the BEST HOMEMADE!!!!

Yelp
i love this place the people are great . the candy is to die for . i love the people that runs the place.

Yelp
Poor customer service. The chocolate was not the quality I've come to expect from boutique candy shops. The items in the cases looked as if they had been there for a while. It's a cute little shop with tons of potential, but I believe they are ripping off the clientele with sub par ingredients.
