Cafe with limited seating supplying espresso drinks, pastries & breakfast sandwiches.
"New School Have you been let down by overcooked eggs, partially melted cheese, and un-sauced bread on a breakfast sandwich? That will never be the case at Southside Coffee, a tiny coffee shop in South Slope where people line up for sandwiches, cinnamon buns, pie, and Counter Culture coffee. Your first order of business should be a “New School.” The soft and buttery scrambled eggs, bacon, and miso-tahini kale on a crusty seeded hero will undo any malaise caused by a subpar bodega BEC. This sandwich is a pleasant reminder that crunch, spice, and greens don’t have to be reserved for lunch or dinner." - willa moore, neha talreja, carlo mantuano, carina finn koeppicus
"A comfy minimalist vibe and primo espresso drinks make this a chill spot to hang out with friends on a couch or tap away on your Mac." - Jason Powers
"Folks in Greenwood Heights/South Slope know that Southside Coffee is the best cafe in the area, and that’s why there’s usually a line wrapped halfway around the block every morning. Order at the window and take your food to the park across the street, since there’s no seating inside. They brew Counter Culture coffee, and the menu of sandwiches and baked goods rotates pretty much daily, with a few standbys. Their scones and biscuits are always excellent, and we love the New School breakfast sandwich, which comes with bacon, eggs, miso-tahini kale, and hot sauce, is one of our favorites.
