Southside Market & BBQ - Austin at Arbor Walk

Texas BBQ doesn’t get better than this! WOW, my third time here (I come about once a year to Austin) and never miss Southside BBQ. I’ve had the Southside Combo Plate twice and absolutely loved it—best brisket anywhere—so I got adventurous and tried the Chopped Brisket Baked Potato (pictured). Double WOW. The brisket melted in my mouth. Highly recommended. Now, don’t stop there because the peach cobbler is out of this world. Even better with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream. Your tummy will be so happy (and a bit stuffed)! Don’t miss this place—I never do.

Super friendly staff, great food, and nice variety. Surprised to see lamb ribs and plenty of dessert options. Mac & cheese was a hit with the kiddos too. They were all delicious. Thank you.

Better than the original, with faster lines and a great spot central to 183 and Mopac! Hearty lunch portions. Always a fan of the sausages. And their zesty sauce is better than most. Prices consistent with all of the other high-end bbq places.

Don't get me wrong. The food is very good for Texas BBQ...that said most Central Texas BBQ is good. The hang up for me is cost. Almost $18 for 1/4lb turkey and 1/4 brisket with NO sides and water. A 2 meat plate is $20+ which is technically a better value but still over $20 is a lot for lunch IMHO.

Best brisket/sausage combination sandwich I've had in a very long time. Even brought home a couple of packs of their meat market special, beef sausages, to enjoy later this weekend while watching college football games.

We walked in, the team was nice and very welcoming. They greeted us they took our order and not rushed us. The sausage and brisket was fresh and hot like always. Later we ate pie and ice cream delicious. Robert was in dining area making sure we had everything, I'll be back soon.

First time checking them out, and wasn't disappointed. Tried the dinosaur rib. It was GIGANTIC. Sides were tasty, sauces were great. There was an 85th birthday party going on which just added to the atmosphere. A wonderful employee (sadly did not catch their name) checked in on us and and was just a delight.

I had the Sausage and ribs. While the sausage was really good the ribs were mid at best. The sides were the usual old school under salted sides (beans, potato salad) The service was excellent very friendly and helpful people. They have some stuff you don't see at other spots like lamb and pork steak. So I will be back.

Never disappoints anytime I come here. Always make a point to come here every time I am in town. Service always good. Place always clean. Always friendly no matter what time of day I come in. Food always fresh and taste good every time

Today as usual I ordered a pound of original sliced sausage with crackers and iced tea and it was served fresh quickly and the meal was great. I've been going to southside market for years always great fresh and tasty bbq and never a line. Come try authentic Texas bbq your won't be disappointed but don't forget the banana pudding it's great.

It's not that the food is bad or that the staff isn't friendly it's just ... there are so many more bbq places that are just better. The burnt ends were good as was the sausage but I just feel like everything was better at Rudy's, Terry blacks or Franklin's. If you go and haven't had any of the others it will still taste good the staff are still nice and probably my favorite part was that they have prepackaged sausages ready to go. Those were probably my favorite thing there.

Look, the brisket is good at Southside, and a quarter pound sandwich tops the scales at maybe twice that, so they don't skimp on meat.... But there is plenty of good brisket in Texas. The reason to come here is the traditional Elgin Hot Sausage, made of beef, and called Hot Guts by the old timers. On the half shell... on a cracker, slathered with the old time pepper vinegar hit sauce... Will transport you to a time and place with your grandpa while he was playing moons and 42 at the Green Frog Cafe. It's just... Texas, dammit. It's taking a bite out of our collective history!

Southside is good for what it is -- a casual bbq spot with low lines, decent food and no fuss. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it, but I've also still come back multiple times. They accommodate gluten allergies and will cut meat with fresh gloves and a clean cutting board which is appreciated -- but not many options are actually gluten free. I'll mainly just get the brisket and a bag of chips, which is a pretty plain meal...but it still hits the spot nonetheless, when that's what I'm craving.

I'm not a BBQ pit master by any means, but this was not up to par. Southside missed the mark on the smoky and bold flavors making this our least of all BBQ joints in the Austin and surrounding areas. All in all, food was bland and lacked that deep, smoked face punch to our taste buds we've all come to expect from Texas BBQ. My apologies for the not-so-good review, Southside.

I was in town for Afro Tech and had to get some TX Style BBQ before I left. I saw this place on Uber Eats and decided to give em a shot! For starters, I love how everything was packaged up. The meats came wrapped in Paper and other items in separate Styrofoam containers. My favorite item was the Jalapeno/Bacon/Cheddar Sausage and the Ribs and loaded baked potato were amazing as well! My pictures below will show what I ate. I couldn't eat it all in 1 sitting so I tripple bagged it and placed it in my Checked Bag and had it for lunch the next day in Atlanta :). My only cons were both BBQ sauces tasted a bit bland and could use more flavor. I ordered the Bold and Hot Vinegar and neither tasted like the name.

I do not normally eat out. But I had a gift card to use. I had the gift card since December. I did not know that it would depreciate the longer i waited to use it. I am biased on bbq. I grew up in a bbq place, so my stands are VERY high. Sub par bbq, the sauce taste like vinegar, the beans contained pork- I know it gives flavor, but pork is disgusting and unclean. I was completely unimpressed and feel I wasted money.

If you're a vegetarian, you can have a potatoes, salad, pickles or soda. Otherwise, go somewhere else! Service was very friendly though!

3.5 We hadn't come to this location before. Usually, we go to the one in Elgon. This one is located in a mall full of stores so parking can be quite tricky, especially in the holiday season. That said we came in yesterday for lunch. To our surprise, the line wasn't long despite being busy. We were able to get our food pretty quickly. I found a table and we had no issues. The food was good. Everything was cooked well and was tasty. The only strange thing was that this location did not put food on plates but instead was served on trays. Meh, not a big deal. The bathrooms were also nice and clean. I'd come back again.

Great smoky tasting BBQ. Chopped beef sandwich with pickles is my fave. Brisket sandwiches and sausage sandwiches, along with sausage wraps are all mouthwatering. Inside is dark and cool, but has a bit of an echo. I usually have curbside delivery after physical therapy. All the sandwiches are overloaded and messy to eat, so take them home to eat. Eating while driving not recommended.

Outstanding BBQ it's always so nice to order and get exactly what you would like and on another note Angie is there now you will recognize her from Quality Seafood tell her hello. The place was clean and floors looked great

3.5 stars - Loved that they offered smoked lamb ribs and the portions were generous for the price. Both the lamb ribs and sausage slammers had areas that were too salty and had to be washed down quickly by cold beer. I would still come back for the lamb ribs since they were juicy and flavorful.

They were out of corn and salad. Food was terrible! Bake potato was over cooked. Chicken was very dry. Brisket had NO flavor. Don't waste your money!!!

I have to say this place has great customer service. Every time I go I receive the highest quality service. I went yesterday to pick up some sausage from the market and Aaron was wonderful and very pleasant. Thank you!

Southside has always been good and maybe tonight was off night but... Rudy's would have been better that the dried out tough meat ribs and brisket we got... we'll assume this was a one off thing so we'll try again. B.A.D.

As a team, we are very grateful to Southside Market for sponsoring us and their employees for cooking an abundance of delicious food. The macaroni and cheese had a perfect creaminess and the sausage was flavorful with a slightly smokey taste. We would recommend this to anyone with a load of hungry kids as a middle ground. BBQ has zero flavor. Normally after eating bbq you can taste it on your tongue for the rest of the day. Brisket was flavorless. Even the burnt end had no flavor. Chicken was fatty and zero flavor at all. Turkey was moist but again no flavor. Sauce has a weird cinnamon note. Banana pudding is just that pudding. No crumbly cookie bottom. Has a weird almond extract flavor. Total waste of $40 and I feel less Texan coming out of that restaurant than I did when I went in. Worst BBQ In the state. I'd expect this if I was in New Jersey but not Austin.

We were going to another BBQ place around the this location but the like was to die for. So we changed our mind and came here. Good BBQ good place to eat. Clean and very spacious.

Love this bbq joint! Just as good as the original location! Staff is super friendly and the management team goes above and beyond to have a great experience. Never disappointed in anything I get! The atmosphere is bbq style and I love it! Overall this place is ran by some awesome people! You won't be disappointed!!!

When the line for the drive-thru is crazy long and you consider not getting in line at the sight of it, you know the food is THAT good. Of course, its worth the wait, so we got in line! I've had their brisket and ribs here, but those aren't too amazing in my opinion. They taste super yummy, but they're usually too fatty for me. The amount of actual meat you get for the price is not great. The real show-stopper here are the birds!! They do an exceptional job barbequing their chicken and turkey. I always get a ton of chicken and turkey here! Check this place out! They're pretty cheap, kind of dive-y, and a perfect stop on the way out of town towards Houston!

Lamb kinda gamey- sausage very greasy, brisket perfect tender and lean, ribs ok. Two kinds sauce, fast service. Fair prices.

Very good BBQ. Love that there is a Austin location and I do t have to drive to Elgin. I love the sausage. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I will be back!

Just stopped in for lunch. Red headed guy taking orders in line was rude and really rude for no reason. Food was mediocre and small portions. Better places to go for BBQ in Austin for better quality and portions without the rude treatment by staff.

Let's level set expectations. I like Rudy's BBQ. It's not the greatest, but it's usually pretty steady. Our last trip to Rudy's up off 183 was a miserable bust, so we gave Southside a try. We got a pound of brisket, half a chicken, and three sausage slammers. The brisket was good. Not overly salty, a little firm, decent bark. The chicken smelled great. It was a little overcooked, but still tasted fine. The sausage slammers should come with a tent to hide in while you feverishly eat them in shameful amounts. It's like a jalapeño popper wrapped in a sausage with a bacon casing. We didn't get any sides this time. Reading other reviews, seems they might struggle with consistency. Considering the sausage slammer alone, I'll be back to find out.

The brisket was awful. Hard, no taste, edges weren't good. The staff was unpleasant as I ordered and my meal was $17. I've had good brisket all over Austin and this has to take the medal for the worst. That said, the macaroni and cheese redeemed the meal. I wouldn't return though.

It was time to check out Southside Market & Barbeque's first location within Austin's city limits. I have been to the other two locations in Elgin and Bastrop so I know what to expect but curious how it would be setup inside. Situated at Arbor Walk shopping center there are plenty of surface parking. Inside was pretty much the same layout but with a smaller take-home meat shop. We were greeted nicely by many employees. This is a bbq place where you stand in line to order meat first and sides. I decided on a Turkey Sandwich and Potato Salad. A quarter dill pickle was included too. There are lots of seating available, and found a table next to the window so we can eat and watch the rain fall. I could have used a fork to eat the sandwich since it was stuffed with lots of thick slices of turkey but held it in place hoping none fall out. The turkey tasted unbelievably good with nice flavor and was cooked perfectly with their unique slices. It was not rubbery or hard but nice and soft. The bread was buttery so it also had flavor. It was a great sandwich and the potato salad was also good. The atmosphere is very family friendly and these guys have been doing this since 1882 so it has been fined tuned to deliver a tasty product in a warm Texas style fashion.

Southside Market & BBQ out of Elgin (that's "ELL-gun" with a hard "g" sound, emphasis on the first syllable, located about 30 miles east of Austin on Highway 290), est. 1882, has recently opened up in the Shops at the Arbor Walk center across the way from Spec's and JoAnn's just east of Mopac and Capital of Texas. It's a surprisingly large space for a strip mall, with barred, zig-zag line control at the BBQ counter, 2 self-serve drink & garnish stations, tons of tables, a gift & to-go meat market shop up front, and parking & entrances on both the south and east sides. We gave them a try for walk-up take-out the other night and really enjoyed our meal, even with a couple of hiccups on the service. We dropped in on a whim at dinner time, realizing Southside was now open, having just been across the lot at the Skecher store picking up the ever more gigantic shoes my now 13 year-old son apparently requires every 4 months. :-/ I wanted a savory assortment to test, so we stepped up to the counter and began rattling off about 7 things. As a native Texan, I've been trained from an early age to have my order ready when reaching my turn with the meat cutter, so as to not inconvenience the large line behind me or annoy the knife-wielding professional before me. Well, this particular gentleman seemed new to the task, as he asked me to slow down and repeat myself so he could write up the ticket on a pad of order paper, and he needed some assistance from the other team member next to him to find the menu items I'd requested. He also missed that this was a to-go order, so some repackaging was needed at the end. No biggie - I'm sure this will get better with time as the new team finds their groove. We ordered the following items, plus fountain drinks: 1 Sausage Slammer ($4), a sausage enrobed, cheddar-stuffed jalapeño, wrapped in bacon & smoked to perfection. This was an easy-to-split appetizer for 2, providing about 3 bites for each person. I love jalapeño poppers, bacon, and sausage, so this one was a no-brainer. Tasty if a little dry overall, but that's preferable to flabby bacon. 1 lb Original Beef Sausage ($14) Not bad, not bad. We've always preferred Meyer's sausage to Southside's when we are stopping for BBQ in Elgin over the years, but this long, snappy link with a natural pork casing and a bit of black pepper bite was a-okay. I just finished off the last of the leftovers on that one and I enjoyed every bite even after a few days in the fridge and a microwave reheat. 1/2 lb USDA Prime Brisket ($10.5), no menu option of distinction for moist, lean, or house-choice. When I made my order, I'd asked for "Moist Brisket" and there was no correction back to me to let me know that they don't do that (apparently). It was a bummer to unwrap this meat at home 20 minutes later & see the total absence of juice or fat - this was definitely a too-lean-for-me cut. I wouldn't order this brisket again. 1 Chopped Brisket Baked Potato ($10), entrée-size with chopped brisket and all the fixins. OMG, I am a sucker for every possible preparation of the humble spud, and I've been known to order hundreds of Chopped Bakers (with smoked chicken) over the years from Smokey Mo's. The Southside version is huge, like one of those Jason's Deli full-sized baked Russets, only covered in lightly sauced chopped brisket like you'd get on a sandwich, plus cheese, butter, green onion tops, and sour cream. Yes, this may hasten my death date, but - worth it! 1 Ranch Hand ($9), layered bowl of cut-to-order brisket, beans, cheese, & diced white onions served w/ Fritos on the side. Imagine the most decadent Frito pie you ever had. The onion level was a bit much for us, but they were easy to push to the side. Delicious! I was disappointed to find that no bread was included in our bag (not sure if we needed to request it or what), so we had to make do with our hippie 8 grain wheat bread at home to make our sausage wraps and next-day brisket sandwiches. I was also bummed that pickle offerings are limited to ridged sour hamburger dill slices - Pokejo's has spoiled me with their superior fermented offerings. Food is great ..large portions ..Mac and cheese is good ..dont care for the potato salad...it's a bit pricey..almost a hundred dollars for 4 people...

We have been customers of Southside for decades. Unfortunately, our last visit was not a satisfactory one. We purchased to-go, among other meats, a beef rib for our grandson priced at 40.80. Unfortunately, 3/4 of the meat part was fat. So, bone plus fat leaves about a quarter of a pound of expensive edible beef (and an unhappy grandson, although his dog was happy.) Lesson: AVOID THE BEEF RIB

Doing some shopping at DSW and could smell the BBQ in the parking lot, so we HAD to go by Southside Market and check out the food. It was lunchtime on a Saturday and there was no crowd - we just walked right up to the meat prep counter and ordered. The BBQ was a little on the pricey side. We opted to split the chopped BBQ baked potato. I asked for lean chopped BBQ, and was informed that they only had a pre-chopped beef, of which he didn't know the amount of fat it contained. But, I could have lean brisket chopped and served over the potato, but that would be $5 more. No thank you. So, we went with the pre-chopped beef and it was fairly fatty, which is what we were trying to avoid. The potato was huge, had some cheese and butter on it, and was $14. I think 3 stars is fair for what we had.

Decent BBQ. Ribs were big and juicy. Cheddar sausage wasn't bad, but not as good as the ribs. Brisket was also good. Mac and cheese and potato salad both had good flavor.

Came here after leaving the airport. I'm a bit of a bbq snob but this was yummy. The ribs fell off the bone. I like baked beans but they served what looked like pinto beans. Still very tasty. I'd return if ever in Texas.

Let me start by saying: "IBC root beer"!!!!! Okay, IBC is my favorite and root beer, in my humble opinion, is the perfect pairing with barbecue. They have it in the fountain. I'd come back just for that. I have never eaten at this location, only the original. The smells are great. Everything looked great. I had high hopes. Particularly since they are apparently the oldest barbecue in Texas. We had pork ribs, brisket, both sausages and their sausage slammer (I think that's the name). For sides it was slaw, potato salad and beans. Let me start by saying this, so I don't have to say this for each item. I was sorely disappointed in that the meat just isn't smokey. Shocking since the place itself smells smokey. And that goes for each type of meat. The pork ribs were flavorful and decently cooked. But they needed more time to get to fall off the bone. The sausage, both regular and jalapeño cheese were also tasty but nothing special. The brisket was actually quite nice. Well cooked and good flavor (minus smoke), the rub is really good. Lastly, the slammer. It is a cheese stuffed jalapeño, wrapped in beef and then bacon. Not bad but considering what makes up this item, I expected it to be bursting with flavor. It horribly missed the mark. Even the bacon lacked flavor! How?!?! For the sides, they were all good, not great. I prefer potato salad with mustard, which this one doesn't have. It is probably the best non-mustard potato salad I have had. I really liked it. I just don't understand why the meat isn't smokey. It honestly doesn't make sense. Is it too much to ask for barbecue to be smokey? Barbecue that isn't smokey, to me, isn't barbecue. It could just as easily be cooked in an oven. Why go through the trouble of "smoking" it in a barbecue. It can be perfectly cooked and seasoned but then it's just well cooked meat that any chef could do.

Arguably the worst brisket in the entire state of Texas! My son wanted to impress me for Christmas so ordered me a mail order brisket from this place,which he was misled to believe was one of the best. What I got was the fattiest untrimmed brisket I had ever seen. For me, brisket is sll about the bark, but the bark had 3/4 inch of fat attached because they were too damned lazy to trim it and charge, apparently, by the pound. When I complained, they did not even care enough to reply to my email, let alone try to apologize and redeem themselves by sending me a better product. Bad food, worse customer service! With places like Le Barbecue and Franklins in town, who would waste their time here?

Place was nice and clean and staff was friendly. I was kind of shocked that I was the only dining inside customer, however I say several take out orders and curb service while there. The bbq was good I had turkey and sausage. Both were a tad dry. The bbq sauce was not to my liking. I did like the coleslaw it was a bit peppery though not sure peppery is a word. The beans were not what I expected, I like a sweet baked style beans these were more of a pinto or ranch style. I actually liked them even though they were a bit plain, not by flavor, they just let the beans go the talking. Overall I think this place is probably better when their busy.

My wife helped me snarf up a 3 meat plate with 2 sides, there was nothing left but a few rib bones. The ribs were very good, the brisket was slightly chewy....4 stars, the sausage was the bomb. The cole slaw was very good...not too sweet, the salad was good too. After we finished our meal we bought some garlic sausage, a small punkin pie and some semidry sausage, we would have bought more of the last item but we snagged the one remaining package, the gentleman behind the counter gave us some ice for our goodies. We've been to the mother ship in Elgin and this location compares well to mom. We'll be back for more, we need to try the Hutto location when it's up and running. Great meats and service.

Stop. Do not eat here. I have had some great barbecue in Austin and around the great state of Texas but, this is definitely NOT the place to go out for barbecue. This restaurant seems to be surviving off the reputation of another location with the same name. Do not be fooled the brisket is poor. Whomever the pit master is shouldn't simply be fired, they need to be stopped from ever cooking barbecue again within the borders of Texas. On the plus side the restrooms were clean and their is a friendly atmosphere. I do not enjoy posting negative reviews however, I went shopping for clothing immediately following my lunch and two clerks who work within a few hundred feet of this restaurant verified without prompting that Southside Market and Barbecue is the worst place to eat around there. It's not just me - this place is bad.

Ok, so Southside is a legit old school Texas BBQ joint, for better or worse. I got the brisket baked potato - it was filling, large portion of brisket, etc. It was good brisket but not great - the brisket was a bit way on the smoky and dry side for my taste. The BBQ sauce was lacking and thin - as is typical with the authentic old school Texas BBQ joints which don't like to serve any sauce, which is unfortunate. If they had better sauce, I would give it four star review. I just wished some of the old school Texas BBQ joints would up their game with better BBQ sauce and better gourmet sides - doing it the old fashioned way is, well, getting a bit old.

I went here with my family for the first time and ordered lamb rib, pork steak, and brisket are delicious. The staff is always friendly and nice when they talked to me. Would definitely recommend eating here.

I went to the Elgin location and when i heard they opened a store near my office, I had to try them. My friends and I came here on a Sunday afternoon, after we drove to a nearby restaurant and noticed how no one was in the parking, we decided to go to South Side. I ordered the loaded baked potato and the sausage sandwich. The potato was amazing, it was loaded with chopped brisket, butter, sour cream, and cheese. It was delicious and made a great side to sausage sandwich. That thing was great, loaded with pickles and onions, i devoured it. The staff is super friendly and the food was so good, i went to lunch today and had a salad. 10/10

We tried the Austin location off MoPac on their opening day, close to opening time at 11am. Food: Southside Plate is sausage and brisket for $14, and comes with two sides. The sausage is definitely the star here. Flavor is amazing, and the sausage meat is almost tender as you chew through the skin, which has a nice snap without it being too chewy. Brisket was alright, tender and slightly smoky. Pork ribs are pretty good. Hard pass on the baby back - the two on our plate was overly dry, and lacking flavor other than the smoke it was cooked in. Mac and cheese is as you'd expect - creamy and cheesy. Potato salad is good, as are the coleslaw and beans. Service: As most BBQ locations, you walk up and line up. We've not been to the Bastrop location, so we can't compare the two, but we wonder if the ordering system is similar. There's loads of people behind the counter, but it's not cohesive. There's an order taker, who may or may not be cutting up and prepping the meat on your plate. They shout out your sides to the folks at the back, and they bring forward the sides to add to the plate. Which makes its way down to the register, where they seem a bit confused as to what you order. Perhaps this is a new location and they need to work out the kinks. Cost: The one and two meat plates are both $14, and both come with two sides. The three meat costs $18. It's not super pricey, but you'll see that you don't get a lot portion wise either. When we went back a second time and got a three meat plate, that was literally 2 slices of brisket, 2 baby back ribs, and 1 pork rib. Overall: Parking is plenty in the shared lot outside. Space is open and clean, but you will come out smoky, as with most BBQ places. Best thing is the sausage, and we'll come back for that if nothing else. Takes cards.

7/3/21- I called my order in . Stephanie assisted me with ordering the right about of food for my family. Stephanie was friendly and knowledgeable. When I arrived to the restaurant I only waited 5 mins for my order. Stephanie explained what was in every bag. She has excellent customer skills and definitely an asset to Southside Market BBQ @ Arborwalk/ Mopac. Our meal was delicious Sincerely, R. Chambers

A chopped beef sandwich costs $17 dollars. i burped that sandwich up for the next 9 hours. I would suggest one of the local favorites as an alternative.

A longtime Central Texas barbecue staple, the Southside Market opened a new location in the Arbor Walk. The space is very large and impressive. They are expecting large crowds and got them today. We have visited the location in Bastrop and concluded that the product is okay but nothing spectacular. That conclusion holds for this location as well. I had the prime brisket and my wife the brisket sandwich. For a moist brisket, mine was disappointingly lacking in flavor other than the smoke and my wife thought her sandwich was dry and also lacking in flavor. One of the things that bothered us at the Bastrop location and seems even more concerning for this location, ordering isn't that straight forward. We were met with a senior gentlemen in an orange hat that didn't greet us, and when my wife started to order her sandwich, she was met with an open hand and a "here or to go". He did ask her for large or small, sliced or chopped. and did she want pickles and onions. I ordered by the half pound and was immediate pushed down the line. He didn't ask either of us if we wanted any sides. I have an idea, try, "Welcome, have you dined with us before, do you need some help with the menu, what sides would you like, would to try any of our meats, would you like to hear about our specials". We were definitely rushed and didn't appreciate it. I conclusion, we found the product quality similar to Rudy's but not quite as good as Pok-e-Jo's. In the future, we will spend our barbecue calories on Stiles Switch.

Wasn't sure about going here after seeing some negative reviews, but it turned out great. Meat was probably the leanest I've had, it wasn't overly fat which I hate (I have only been to one other BBQ joint in the area and it was super fatty that I couldn't even eat). Brisket was good, lamb was good, the pork steak was super dry but edible. All the sides were pretty good. Macaroni and cheese, cole slaw and potatoes salad. But I didn't love the beans, they were whatever.. The service was great, they were very sweet and helpful.

Ok this reviewis not for the company as an whole it's strictly regarding this visit here at Arbor Walk.. I have always made South Side BBQ an traditional stop in Elgin when I'm going to watch my Fighting Texas Aggies in College Station on fall Saturdays.. The meat has always been on point but todaythat was not the case.. I ordered 2 ribs and a sausage wrap. The wrap tasted as they always do but the ribs were not good..The flavor and texture taste new and not like they usually do.. I had a friend who got the brisket and she said that it was pretty dry and not good.. I know that I paid 18 bucks for 2 ribs and an wrap..Seemed to be a little pricey but I never really paid attention to the price in Elgin.. I will still frequent this new location, maybe it was just an one time issue but I do feel as if I wasted some money.
