The Mission Lunch Guide

"The Mission is full of great food that you can only get in the Mission, but that doesn’t erase the fact that sometimes it’s just a Souvla kind of day. It’s easy to stop into this Greek spot and know exactly what you’re going to have with no chance of anything going haywire. Get some lamb and juicy potatoes, and if the day also calls for it, order a frozen Greek yogurt and pick it up on the way out the door. You’ve made enough decisions today, and sometimes the easiest choice is the best one." - taylor abrams, jess basser sanders, will kamensky

Delicious food and friendly service! We tried the chicken, lamb, and vegetable wrap which was all so good! Limited seating area (it's popular so there was a ~10 min wait time) but so worth it! Greek fries were delicious too, I want to come again to try the frozen Greek yogurt next time!

Google
Love their frozen yogurt, not too sweet, has the original notes of sour yogurt, and has a slight bite. Chicken salad is great, a little little pricey

Google
We got both the pork wrap and the veggie wrap. Both were very good, but surprisingly we both enjoyed the veggie wrap more. The flavors were more complex and tasted more Greek. It’s not a very authentic Greek experience, but it’s still very enjoyable. The yogurt is also delicious & sour.

Google
Two of us came for lunch. The service was fast and we got outside seating right away. While the menus is classic the execution is more fusion than Greek. We got the grilled chicken sandwich. The wrap came with a little bit of vegetable and even an orange but the chicken was cut so fine and dressed so heavily it was more like a chicken salad sandwich than a classic Greek dish. It was tasty just not what I was expecting. The fries were fine. Portions are good but it’s an Al a cart menu so order your sides accordingly. This is a order at the counter style service. Makes for a good fast lunch.

Google
Super friendly and attentive service. Answered a million questions and flexible with menu items. Delicious salads, the roasted sweet potato with walnut is my favorite but if like lamb, go for that one! The soup can be a bit salty. The frozen yogurt is a petfect dessert! Atmosphere is upscale for order at the counter spot. Clean and pleasant. Will go back!

Google
Delicious food, friendly staff. Chicken sandwich and salad were fresh and tasty. Keep the sandwich in it's wrap, it is juicy. No fault of the restaurant. I ended up wearing some home! Nice flavor and sauce. Very light. I tried a cola drink. Real cane sugar but very small size. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Great for a casual lunch or a meeting with friends! Not too loud and feels welcoming inside. Order at the counter and get a number. That's the 4 vs 5 star difference.

Google
After enjoying tacos in the area, we came here for some soft serve Greek yogurt, which was yum. Their best seller was the Greek yogurt with olive oil and salt. I tried the baclava one, which was sweet and very delicious as well. Depends if you prefer savory or sweet. You first order, find a spot, and the servers will serve you once your food is ready. They also have a pour your own water station.

Google
This is the best frozen yogurt I've ever had! It's sour, creamy, super refreshing for a hot summer day walk around Mission District. I also liked the Baklava as it nicely balanced out the sourness.
google avatar

Yelp
My friend and I came here basically for the frozen Greek yogurt. YUM. I could probably eat an entire cup by myself. We tried the baklava crumbles and honey syrup topping. It had the satisfaction of nice, cold ice cream or froyo without the guilt of excessive sweetness. The seating is first come, first served and can get busy.

Yelp
It's so okay. I got the veg salad, and it was overdressed and didn't have a protein. The sweet potato was good but really nothing special about the salad. Greek fries with average and weren't as good cold. Charged extra for ketchup. Cute vibes and wasn't rushed if you lingered. Could skip.

Yelp
Holy wow is that chicken salad AMAZING!!! Fries crisp, service good. That cherry sauce with the frozen Greek yogurt is something I dream about!

Yelp
I live down the street and always see this place has a line so I decided to check it out. I got the chicken option as a salad and it was extremely refreshing. I would just say they skimp a lot on the meat. For dessert I got the honey and baklava yogurt which was tart but sweet, probably would try a different flavor next time! Overall it's a cute place just also not a unique concept so very similar to cava, nick the Greek, etc.

Yelp
Got their baklava greek frozen yogurt - I love that it's sour and they gave us plenty of baklava crumbs. We came here on a thursday night and this place was pretty packed. The line was a bit confusing and disorganized but not a big deal. They also serve other food and drinks! Will definitely come back for their other frozen yogurt flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
Ehhhh. Maybe bc I doordashed it while standing in line waiting for an author to sign my book, but their salad wasn't very good. It was bland and quite frankly tasted stale. We for their yogurt and ate it in line and that was pretty good. Idk, maybe I didn't order the right item or maybe people hyped it up and I had higher expectations. I still prefer Nick the Greek.. prob wouldn't come back esp since I live in the South Bay. Way better options out there.

Yelp
The chicken salad here is one of my favorite local salads. It's not a typical Greek salad at all. It has chicken, kale, fennel, orange slices, pea shoots, mizithra cheese, and Granch dressing (their version of ranch dressing). It's like a spiffied up Greek salad a la ultra-healthy San Francisco style. I mean, have you ever had any other Greek salad with *kale*?! The one menu item that I did not like was their pork sandwich -- it was dry (1 star off). The pita bread was good, but the pork was not. You can actually get any of their meats in either a salad or pita sandwich form. Be sure to end your meal with a frozen Greek yogurt. It is real Greek yogurt -- none of that commercial Greek yogurt thickened with corn starch. It tastes like pure Greek yogurt. I like the sour cherry and olive oil toppings, but would suggest holding the salt for the olive oil topping. Needless to say, salted Greek yogurt would not taste like a sweet dessert ending!

Yelp
If I am close to a souvla, I will always come by and get the Greek yogurt with baklava crumbles and honey syrup. It is my favorite dessert ever since being introduced to it during Covid and I'll never forget how it can always make my day better. My friends got the Greek yogurt with cherry syrup and they enjoyed it as well. I am biased for the baklava crumbles tho Something new I learned is that souvla has dog toys!! I got my dog a Greek yogurt squeaky toy to match my obsession for the dessert. It's a bit pricey at $20, but I'd say it's priceless if I can share souvla with my dog. But it gets even better, if you ask, souvla has little tiny cups for dogs too! While only service dogs are allowed inside, there is seating outside for you to bring your pet and get them a little treat while you eat as well!

Yelp
Casual and quick spot - you order at the front, but staff will bring your food to you after you order. The chicken salad was good and the ingredients are fresh, and the Greek frozen yogurt was really unique and delicious as well, and not too sweet!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here for dessert because I really wanted to try their greek yogurt. The inside is nicely decorated and brightly lit. I was surprised to see there weren't too many tables. I ordered at the counter and my dessert was ready really fast. I got the greek yogurt with baklava. I loved the consistency of the yogurt, but it was very tart. I thought it was going to be a little sweeter. The baklava was really good, i do wish that it was mixed into the yogurt instead of just on the top and bottom. Overall, it was really good and I'd come back!
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped by today for a quick snack. I had their chicken wrap, frozen yogurt, and fries. Let's just say my eyes were bigger than my yummy! I really enjoyed the fries and the frozen yogurt. The chicken wrap was ok. But the fries! They were perfect!
google avatar

Yelp
I like the ideas of a fast and quick bite. Not too expensive for the neighbourhood it is. The place gives the food a contemporary feel. Mostly a self service place. I ordered via a screen with an individual. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. Plenty of water. Got the chicken sandwich and the fries with the granch sauce. Sauce was tasty and nice. Overall good. A little greasy but that's okay. The mandarin orange was a unique hit; gives it a modern fresh taste. Not a big fan of the cheese used. The seating is spacious. Plenty of public transport options to get here and bike racks are seldomly nearby.

Yelp
Still loving their fro yo! Its quick, and generous portion! I highly recommend this tasty treat

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place for a while and decided to come in for a quick lunch! The place was bright, clean, and had plenty of seating both inside and outside! The menu is clear cut and the worker up front was friendly and informative since it was our first time. We ordered the lamb sandwich, chicken sandwich, and potatoes to share. The sandwiches were good but I did find that a couple bites were drier than others. The hot sauce at the table was an in between of Tabasco and tapitio and went well on the sandwiches. The potatoes were the highlight, they were silky and had so much flavor within each bite. I'd come back and try the salads instead next time! We were too full to try their Greek yogurt but definitely will be back for it.

Yelp
I've always had a great experience at Souvla - whether it's busy or quiet! There's always plenty of seating and the staff are very cheerful and kind when assisting you. There was one time I arrived about 30-40 minutes earlier than the rest of my party and they were fine with me sitting wherever until my friends arrived. Another time, I had accidentally left a gift bag at my table and was almost home when I realized it. I drove back with maybe 5 minutes left until their closing time and the staff had saved my gift bag behind the counter for safe keeping in case I came back! These scenarios may be small but are meaningful and leave a lasting impression - TY Souvla! In terms of the actual food, I usually order the chicken salad, greek fries, and frozen greek yogurt with baklava crumbles and honey syrup! The portions are huge so I always have leftovers for later which is a plus for me (two meals for the price of one).

Yelp
One of my regular restaurants in SF because of the quality and taste of food for the price point. Where else can you get a nice sit down meal for $20ish? Get the lamb pita. I think the salads here are a waste of time (mostly because it can be so easily recreated / it's nothing special). Also get the froyo! I don't care for the froyo toppings, but I love the tanginess of their froyo here! Fries with feta is also good as this combination always works. House white wine I didn't like much. I love the staff who is pretty open about the retail prices of their bottles and how you can go to the bi rite market and get it for cheaper.

Yelp
Came here for a quick dessert. I've been wanting to try their frozen yogurt with baklava and honey syrup for a while because I love baklava. I do have to say the frozen yogurt was a lot more tart than I expected. It wasn't bad, just different. The baklava crumbles were delicious and went well with the frozen yogurt. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it wasn't disappointing either. If you like baklava, frozen yogurt, or both, make sure to check out this place. I'm also curious about their regular food menu, so I'll have to come back and try it. They also had a basket of bread set out while we were ordering, and I had a slice. It was very good bread. Quite sweet, but seemed like a pretty good indicator that all of the food they have is good. Great location too, and overall good vibes.

Yelp
If you're after delicious Greek food with a laid-back, cozy vibe, Souvla is the place to be! Known for their amazing rotisserie chicken and refreshing Greek yogurt, this spot is perfect for a casual date night or a fun girls' dinner. The Greek frozen yogurt is a must-try here. Creamy and tangy with just the right sweetness, it's a great way to end the meal. They offer a variety of toppings, from honey and baklava to fresh honey, so you can customize it to your liking. It's a light but satisfying dessert that adds a fun, sweet note to your night.

Yelp
I've been to Souvla many times before, but usually just for the froyo. Which is phenomenal, by the way. The veggie salad was DELICIOUS-- we all couldn't stop eating it. The wraps/sandwiches were both very solid. It's a relatively quick & affordable bite, with multiple locations in the city. Great place for a casual lunch or even dinner!

Yelp
I went this last Sunday after a long day. Ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and a side of the harissa dip. The chicken sandwich was juicy and well seasoned and the fries were crispy and perfect. This place is perfect to meet up a friend for a casual quick bite and pretty straightforward menu.

Yelp
Finally came here after hearing so much hype about this place! We got the pork salad and side soup (an egg lemon soup). The pork was so flavorful and pretty tender -- I've never had pork in a salad before, but it was surprisingly a great combo! The rest of the salad felt a little too monotonous for me though; I wish it had more punchy flavors and interesting textures. It was a lot of lettuce and kale, with a few tomatoes and pickled onions, but not much else going on. I really liked the greek yogurt dressing they use though. Overall this place feels healthy and the portions are very filling. One salad was around $17 after tax. The service was also insanely quick -- we got our food within minutes of ordering. We had to try the famous frozen greek yogurt here -- we tried both the olive oil and the baklava flavors. The olive oil yogurt is doused in olive oil and quite salty from the sea salt -- it's very savory and didn't feel like a dessert to me, so it wasn't my favorite. I liked the baklava one though! It had a very cinnamonny flavor so it was almost like pumpkin spice. The yogurt was nicely tart and creamy, which I really appreciate -- it feels healthy because it's not super sweet! There's a good amount of seating inside, but even though it can get packed, it moves quickly since it's a pretty fast casual place, so seating isn't too hard to find.

Yelp
Every time I'm in San Francisco I look forward to eating at or ordering from Souvla! Usually, the lamb salad with spicy sauce on the side and the frozen Greek yogurt with Baklava are my favorites. They also serve wine. This time we ordered through Door Dash. The food came promptly and was the correct temperature. Since I will likely eat here again this trip, I ordered the pork salad for the first time. It was good, but missing something. More feta? More dressing? I'd add dried cherries and walnuts, myself. I also had the fro-yo with cherry syrup, and wished it had some tart Michigan cherries. First time for the Greek fries, as well. I added salt at home, but would have asked for more feta and spices. No pita with our order but maybe that must be requested. Otherwise, the food is always fresh and feels like a healthy meal.

Yelp
With my PHD in eating french fries, I approve of these Greek fries ($5)! Perfectly crispy, lightly salted, soft on the inside, warms the soul. Paired with their garlic greek yogurt dip (+$1).. chefs kiss. I think the garlic Greek yogurt adds such a unique taste to each bite. The garlic is not too overpowering. It's very subtle. I also heard many great things about their Lamb Salad ($17) and since I was in the area, I could not pass on it. The lamb was surprising very flavorful and super tender. It definitely took my by surprise. I also had no idea what else was in the salad besides lettuce and lamb. I was not expecting kale to be in it but surprising I LIKED IT?? I'm still in denial that kale could taste so good lol. The only thing I didn't like were the radishes. Wish they were pickled like the onions. Pro tip: you can ask them to make it Greek style for an extra $1 and they will throw in some fries on the salad. Trust me. Game changer. Overall, 4/5. Prices are a bit on the higher side but you're paying for quality.
google avatar

Matt D.

Yelp
The Place is really nice and classy but also a warm feel. The food tasted pretty good and the price wasn't that bad. The workers are also nice and helpful.

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday around 2pm with my boyfriend and it was a nice and relaxed experience. We ordered a pork salad, chicken salad, juicy potatoes, and finished it off with a honey frozen greek yogurt. This was my first time having the chicken salad and it was decent. The salad itself was good. I really like the kale, sprouts, and orange. It's definitely a very dense and satisfying salad and lasts me about 1.5 meals. The chicken itself was a little mushy and mealy if that makes sense, which I've noticed can happen with rotisseried chicken. Overall decent, and pretty generous amount of chicken to make up for it. Juicy potatoes were super tasty as they use the drippings from the chicken but then again yukon gold-type potatoes always taste good. The froyo was delicious as usual. Super tart and flavorful and the sweetness and chewiness of the cold honey is such a great complement. Don't forget your lactaid and try it out!

Yelp
Overall- definitely my go to for healthy salads in the mission. Food - 8/10 - always excellent and feels healthy and fresh. Appreciate the options to put dressing on the side etc.. Don't sleep on the frozen Greek yogurt! Also consider buying their entire rotisserie chickens to-go for cooking at home. Service - 10/10 - left my bag here which had an iPad and speaker in it. Would have been quite the sad loss for me. They held it and returned it without issue. Manager even asked me to make sure everything was there. They say they hold lost items for about two weeks. Very appreciative. Price - 7/10 - it's not cheap but you get a lot of food and it feels high quality. A chicken salad will run you $17. That's pretty steep but I could see how it could serve someone for two sittings. I'm a pretty big/active guy and I find it is a very sizable portion. I almost wish I could pay less to get a smaller portion. Ambiance - 8/10 - I'm not sure what could be improved with their small space. Perhaps more outside seating (pending city regulations and stuff)? I like Souvla's for casual dining before and/after the park.

Yelp
I visited Souvla around 8:00 PM and ordered the lamb salad along with the yogurt for dessert. While the lamb had good flavor, it was slightly dry. However, the salad's dressing and toppings were excellent, complementing the dish well. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, we managed to find a table, and the service was impressively fast--our food was served within two minutes of ordering. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, though I'd prefer the lamb to be a bit more tender. The restaurant had a nice ambience to it, it wasn't too loud and felt cozy.

Yelp
SERVICE - located in the mission off of Valencia road - mostly street parking nearby - indoor and outdoor seating - takeout window for online orders - good for casual meal - self service water - order at counter and then find table - food served very quickly MENU - Greek inspired wraps and salads - some vegetarian options with vegan modifications - average price ($16 per entree) FOOD - veg sandwich (6/10): roasted sweet potato, olives, walnuts, pickled onion, and pea shoots wrapped in a thin grilled pita bread. I removed the garlic yogurt and the cheese to make it vegan. I liked the combination of flavors from the sweet potato to the umami walnuts and the salty olives. I added some of the table hot sauce since it was not very spicy. I was expecting more filling in the pita since it seemed a little empty to me. I would have also liked a substitution for the yogurt and cheese to add the creaminess back to the dish. WOULD I COME BACK? If I was looking for a quick meal then possibly.

Lillian P.

Yelp
usually love their food but today we got a salad with dressing on the side and the lamb salad's dressing was completely molded over. Yuck!

Yelp
Souvla is going to become an essential. Hear me out, the quality of the food is amazing and the options are fantastic. With a relatively simple menu, they do what they do perfectly. The freshness of their salads is addicting and I find myself craving their lamb salad often and paired with their fries you're in for such a good time. Just be sure to also get the "granch" their garlic sauce. IT IS AMAZING, and don't worry if you're on a date get the granch too, if your date doesn't like it you've saved so much time because they're obviously not the one. The location on Valencia is phenomenal, the staff was kind and accommodating, with an incredibly clean bathroom. he location had incredible lighting and a calm vibe making it great for lunch with friends, a date, or even some alone time. I am a new Souvla fan!

Yelp
3.5 star review: I love their Roasted White Sweet Potato sandwich with fries inside for an extra $1. $15 is the going rate in the neighborhood for food, but it's so good and satisfying if you are hungry. What surprised me was their Greek iced tea. I thought it was a Greek tea made in house, but it came in a bottle for $7! I never heard of Tuvunu before but $7 for "greek" tea is mind blowing especially since it came pre-made in a glass bottle. Since I already ordered it and the nice lady at the cashier opened it for me, I had to drink it. The tea itself was OK. It said lightly sweetened with honey and lemon but it was quite sweet with 12g of sugar. I would definitely come back to Souvla because I haven't found anything that compares to their sweet potato sandwich but I'm definitely skipping the tea!

Yelp
bones in my salad??? used to love this place because the macros are online but totally icked out by this

Yelp
Having Souvla these days brings back memories of when I used to spend more time in SF and it would be the go-to dinner option. I didn't know they had a location in Mission before but I was starving and had a huge craving for Greek salad. And it was also one of the first results that populated on my DoorDash, so what more did I need. This time I got the Greek fries, Souvla side green salad, and vegetarian salad. I've had the Greek fries a couple of times before and I wouldn't say that they're out of the world but they're always done well, as long as you don't leave the box closed for so long that they get soggy. Remember to request ketchup on the side if you're into that. I would've preferred if the side salad was completely a standard Horiatiki salad instead of having romaine on the bottom but it blended nicely when mixed together with the vegetarian salad to save as leftovers. The vegetarian salad is something that I've grown to order out of habit, but it's really nicely balanced and filling given the lack of meat. As a non-vegetarian who is passionate about my protein, I approve of this salad. The sweet potatoes are always done well and it's the kind of salad that doesn't invoke diet vibes, is low in calories, and doesn't leave you feeling hungry. It also lasts in the fridge nicely as leftovers to be eaten the next day. This is a really great spot to DoorDash pickup from because in my experience they will usually have your food ready before the estimated pickup time. The prices on DoorDash are also the same as the menu prices in restaurant, at least as far as I could tell, which is another thing that I always appreciate.

Yelp
My go to spot for a quick, healthy meal on Valencia. The lamb salad and the roasted potatoes are to die for. To top it off, I typically order the frozen Greek yogurt with sour cherry syrup for dessert or as a walk-by treat. Whether you dine-in or are picking up an order to go, I recommend this Souvla location!
google avatar

Linda Y.

Yelp
The food is pretty average (I usually get the lamb wrap and it feels pretty healthy, but sometimes a bit dry)... but that baklava froyo is to-die for. It's fast Mediterranean, so you order at the counter and get your food quick -- but there's also only a few options on the menu. I've been to multiple Souvla locations (Mission, Hayes, Marina) and the quality has been pretty consistent across shops. The inside atmosphere is nice -- clean tables, self-serve water, usually not super packed and easy to find a seat. All in all a good casual spot when you're looking to grab something quick either alone or with friends
google avatar

William H.

Yelp
I haven't eaten there yet but enjoy their soft serve. Not really too sweet, tart and not too cold for my teeth-- good portion for the price. The cashier serving was really sweet. I enjoy sitting outside and people watching while I enjoy me soft serve on a hot day.
google avatar

Lemon C.

Yelp
On a 65F day, they had their doors and window open yet inside was hot and funky. This puts a damper on the eating experience. There's only one table outside and you are allowed to sit there as long as you want, even long after you finish eating apparently. It's self service for water and you order at counter and then find table. They charge for sauce for the french fries - strange. Wine is $16 a glass. I got the roasted white sweet potato as a salad. I liked the combination of flavors from the sweet potato to the umami walnuts and the salty olives. The greek yogurt with baklava was tarte, I haven't had real greek yogurt soft serve like that in a long time. Located a couple blocks from Dolores Park.
google avatar

Audrey L.

Yelp
I always love Souvla! This is a nice, fast casual spot for Greek food. The baklava froyo is the tastiest treat, and the food is pretty great too. I tried their new plant based lamb and it was pretty good! I was surprised at how spot-on they got the lamb flavor. And as always, I had to get the baklava froyo. The sweetness of the baklava goes so well with the tartness of the froyo - this is a must try!
google avatar

Salam A.

Yelp
I think Souvla has some of the best french fries in SF. I wish they would put a bit more cheese on it though. I don't love the granch as it's very tart and doesn't pair with the fries as well as I would've wished. T The salad was delicious, I enjoyed the addition of kale and the mandarin oranges although I wish there was more so that the flavors would be more balanced. This was probably the best salad I've had in SF so far and it lasted me 2 portions although the $17 price tag kinda hurt.
google avatar

Isabelle M.

Yelp
I love Souvla for a quick lunch or dinner to go. - Chicken pita: 4/5. Sooo good and I love the citrus and the sauce in this! - chicken salad: 1/5- I don't know why but somehow when you take away the pita something is so off. Will never get this again - avgolemono- 5/5. Hits the spot!! - Greek fries- 2/5 but I may be biased bc I've only ever gotten them to go so they weren't very fresh - Greek yogurt soft serve- 5/5 SO GOOD I go get this all the time. Sour cherry is my fav but baklava one is delicious too

Yelp
Upon arriving with my partner, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that this spot was a full-service restaurant, as we had only heard of it for their frozen yogurt. Despite this, the overwhelming number of positive reviews for their Bakkalava Frozen Yogurt piqued our curiosity and we were thrilled to finally try it during our visit to the city. Baklava is a Greek dessert consisting of layers of nuts, honey, and phyllo dough. Having it alone was undeniably sweet, but when paired with the neutral frozen yogurt, is a match made in heaven. The yogurt itself was unparalleled in its taste and texture, featuring a distinct Greek yogurt aroma and a thick, creamy consistency. Truly such a unique dessert that cannot be found elsewhere. Although I reside an hour away from the city, I will undoubtedly return in the summer to indulge in this delectable treat once more. In fact, I'd probably order one whole cup for myself rather than sharing it with my partner :')

Yelp
We've been wanting to try Souvlaki for awhile, and finally went with a Doordash delivery. We got a chicken and lamb sandwich, Greek fries, and the baklava frozen yogurt. Unfortunately, everything but the fries were pretty disappointing. The lamb and chicken in both the sandwiches were dry and the flavors were mild and not very tasty. Having been to Greece and having eaten the gyros there, my standards are probably unfairly high. However, I've had better gyros in the states and this is one of the poorer ones I've had. The fries were pretty good, they were crispy and had a nice flavor to them. The baklava frozen yogurt was very strange. The baklava has a ton of cinnamon and doesn't really taste like a baklava. I've heard the salads here are good so maybe that's the way to go, but I sadly cannot recommend the restaurant and will not be eating here again.

Yelp
I've always enjoyed this greek restaurant. I do wish they had more seating. Service is average. Depending on how busy they are, it could take a while to get your order. We ordered two pork salads. I wish i had known how much kale there was i would have asked for it to be replaced with romaine. I ended up picking out most of the kale. If you don't love kale ask them to sub it out. Otherwise the veggies are fresh, the pork is tasty and the dressing is excellent!

Yelp
Heard so many people rave about Souvla so I expected a lot. Got the pork salad to go, and it was kinda disappointing. I appreciated how generous they were with the pork, but it tasted a bit too porky and gamey in not-good way. That gamey taste practically lingered around the entire time and I hated it. Aside from that, the salad was a bit lackluster. The gamey pork taste overpowered everything. The salad needed something more. Something else. More texture. More freshness. Also added in a pita and their pita was practically like cardboard - not much taste and fluff. The yoghurt dressing was good though. Overall, I'd say skip the pork salad. Idk if I just made a wrong protein choice (I heard a lot of people say that the chicken was dry and that the pork was killer), or if Souvla overall is really just overrated, overpriced, and blah. Honestly you'd be better off going to another place for a salad.

Yelp
Ordered a chicken sandwich and lamb sandwich for pickup to eat at Dolores park. Highly recommend as a picnic meal since the food is neatly wrapped in a fluffy pita. We ordered Greek style which we found out meant added fried inside the sandwich. Most likely won't get Greek style next time but overall it was very delicious and meat was juicy and flavorful.

Yelp
I love this place. So much so that I have ordered the black sheep salad three days in a row!! I have recently given up red meat because of gout and the black sheep steak bites are a perfect alternative for me. Thank you for having this option for folks like me. I was afraid I would not find a meatless alternative I'd like. Turns out I love it!

Yelp
I could honestly eat the chicken salad at Souvla everyday because is it THAT good -- a winning combination of crisp greens, fresh fennel, refreshing navel orange, and tangy pickled red onions, all tossed with a light dressing (*chef's kiss*). Yes, the entrees are on the pricier side (a sandwich is $1 cheaper than a salad), but accept no imitations! While the Souvla in Hayes Valley gets a lot of hype, I'm personally very fond of the Valencia location. Service is extremely fast and seating isn't too big of an issue, even on the weekends. If it's your first time ever, the frozen Greek yogurt is a must!

Yelp
Friend recommended the Greek yoghurt soft serve from Souvla and no regrets, it was so good!! We were blown away by how yummy such a simple dessert could be. The honey was perfect and the baklava flavour was delicious too. There portion was also huge! The dessert can become a bit much after a while which is why I gave it 4 stars. Service was impeccable and the ambiance was nice. Very friendly restaurant. We weren't feeling too hungry but the savoury options appeared yummy too!

Yelp
Pretty blown away by how simple, fast, healthy & delicious this place served lunch. The lamb salad was filling for one person and the Greek yogurt is a satisfying ending. Will try their chicken sandwich next time and more varieties of their Greek yogurt (I heard about combing olive oil & baklava crumbles?)
