Space City BBQ Food Truck

You might have to brave the Houston heat and humidity, but this Texas Monthly Top 100 BBQ award winner is a food truck with real potential. The spot has a lot going for it, even if a few tweaks could land it in the top 50. The brisket was a highlight—moist, delicious, and seasoned simply with salt, pepper, and garlic (SPG), letting the quality of the meat shine through. The ribs had a good pull and weren't too "hammy" for a spare rib, though I found the garlic seasoning a bit heavy. The pork belly burnt ends were a great cut of meat, with a rich, buttery flavor and a savory fat cap. While they were good, I personally prefer a sweeter burnt end with less garlic. The jalapeño and cheese sausage was my least favorite of the meal. The double-grind texture was nice, but it lacked a rich, deep flavor, and the use of a white cheese instead of the traditional cheddar was an unexpected choice. As for the sides, the cornbread casserole was a delicious and mild-flavored classic. The pinto beans were a standout, packed with flavor and elevated by the inclusion of pork belly burnt ends mixed in. Overall, this is a very good barbecue spot, but it leans a bit heavily on garlic in its seasoning. I'd definitely recommend checking it out, especially when the weather is a bit cooler.

Mid food across the board. Comparable to Lubys. Won't be returning. I wanted to try the burnt ends, but apparently they were sold out. I had a brisket plate with potato salad and mac n cheese. The brisket was good, the sauce was great. But the sides were not a hit for me. The mac tasted like cheese whiz and the spiral noodles could have been more tender. The potato salad was bland in my opinion and could've used some sweet relish or something I suppose. My wife also had the sausage which to me seemed overly spicy but the corn dressing we agreed was good. My daughter had the tacos which she said after the first couple bites "it's just alright". Service was very polite and friendly. This is all just my honest opinion and in no means am I trying to offend.

Brisket was excellent. Not cut thin like the wannabe places. Sausage was great..potato salad and Mac and cheese all good. I would definitely say the best bbq in the area and I eat alot of bbq

The best BBQ that I know of for purchase anywhere near Mont Belvieu, Baytown, Anahuac, or Highlands. I seriously believe buying BBQ anywhere else in these areas is a waste of money unless there is some hidden gem that I am unaware of. I’ve had some very good home cooked BBQ and I have had some really good BBQ at a few select locations around Houston, but here locally around Baytown the chains I’m accustomed too have nothing on this establishment. The biggest complaint I’ve heard is their hours make it tough to get there, but I will tell you this, the meats coming out of this little food truck are an experience more than a meal, and completely worth the effort of making a plan to swing by during their normal business hours. Everything is so tender and flavorful, it’s difficult to describe other than IYKYK, and if you don’t, you need to find out!

Finally got to stop in and try this BBQ food truck, it did not disappoint. Since it was our first time we basically ordered a little of everything including some specials. Ordered the Big Back Box which is a sample platter consisting of 2 meats( I did brisket & turkey) a burger, sausage link a boudain link and two sides.( I did mac & cheese and cornbread casserole) Also ordered the pulled pork grilled cheese, peach tea glazed burnt ends and a 1/2 rack of ribs. Everything we tried was out of this world, pun intended. I'd definitely recommend the burnt ends, super flavorful and tender. The cornbread casserole was delicious and not dry at all. The brisket had a nice bark and taste, the turkey had a great flavor and juicy. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone BBQ lovers.

I had heard about this place from a buddy of mine and was fortunate enough to be in the area for work, and boy, this place did not disappoint at all!! I stopped by and got a half pound of turkey, brisket and a sausage link and it was absolutely amazing! It was seasoned perfectly and piping hot. Definitely stopping by again even when i'm not working. Definitely try these guys out! Thanks again!

Great food. Bbq cooked perfectly. Looks like there were 2 people running this busy trailer. Hopefully, one day they'll have a building with all the extras to keep you cool at the end of June. Lol. Brisket was smoky and tender. Ribs were juicy and finger licking good. Burnt ends were top 10. We ordered a taco to try and it was seasoned to perfection. The sides of beans and corn casserole would be even better in the middle of a cold front, but were still great with our three meat order. Y'all get to Baytown and get you some delicious bbq and maybe it will get them off the street faster and into their own place, which they deserve.

Food was beyond amazing. I loved the blackberry crown pork belly and the cornbread casserole was something out of this world will def be back and my wife loved the nachos and my brother demolished the brisket burger. Will definitely be back. 💯

At the corner of 3180 and Kilgore is a little food truck park where Baytowns Space City BBQ calls home for now. Nestled in the corner is the best BBQ in the Baytown area for sure. Already making waves with Texas Monthly and winning Houstons Peoples choice. Space City is definitely aiming for the stars. My buds at Weavers and Chicano highly recommend Space City and I know why. Food is outstanding and the service couldn't be any better. The boudin and pulled pork sammy were fantastic. That frito pie was fire. Perfect for a cold day like today. Hey, do yourself a favor while in Baytown. Look up Space City BBQ and go. Til we eat again.

I wanted to order here a few times before writing a review to solidifying my thoughts on Space City BBQ being some of the best bbq I have had anywhere. It is top tier and can easily hold their own against any of the original Texas bbq establishments in central Texas including Lockhart the bbq capital of Texas and depends who you talk to, the country. The owner/pitmaster Logan has been featured on Texas Monthly recently and trust me he is the real deal! Now on to the food. Space City features Smoked brisket by the half pound at $15. The brisket has an excellent bark and is tenderlicious! They often have plated specials and different takes on bbq quite frequently from items like a bacon jam burger, turkey pork belly club sandwich, bbq Ramen, pork belly burnt ends.Ribs are also a staple everyday. They have also been known to feature blackberry/crown royal burnt ends! They also feature sides ranging from potato salad, bbq brisket burnt end beans, cornbread casserole, and macaroni cheese. I also wanted to point out to any sports radio listeners in Htown, on occasion John Lopez's OG Sauce is featured on the menu infused into Logan's bbq chicken! They do cater. They are not open everyday but as of this writing they are open thurs thru sat 11am till sold out. Don't miss out on coming here you definitely won't be disappointed!

Space City's Pit Master, Logan, is a freaking genius!!! He produces amazing Central Texas Style Smoked meats that are so incredibly and insanely delicious and consistent. If you bring someone from out of state and insult them with some chain BBQ joint while passing that off as a Texas BBQ experience, shame on you!!! Bring them to Space City BBQ and let them leave with an addiction they won't find elsewhere. The brisket, pulled pork and ribs are amazing!!! The cornbread casserole, beans, Mac/Cheese and, the seasonal salad are all sides I can vouch for. They're all fantastic!!! The service is also amazing. Considering this business is confined to a Food Truck, it's a kind and quick experience. I don't work for SCBBQ and I don't personally know or associate with any employee from SCBBQ. I am a person who loves BBQ, appreciates the tradition of and styles of BBQ, a person who has tried BBQ from various BBQ "hot spots" both in and out of state, to include, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Lockhart, Memphis, Kansas City, Alabama and the Carolina regions. I have a lot of respect for these legendary BBQ areas and their brand. I have experienced great dishes all over the BBQ trail. I respect the differences and hollowed flavors produced from meat selections, methods, rubs, sauces (if applicable) and, of corse, wood and/or coal selection. Hands down the best BBQ in the Baytown area. Never a disappointment when it comes to this place. The food is amazing and delicious every time I go. The owner and staff are always friendly and make sure your food is prepared and hot when ready. Definitely a spot to try out
