The 11 Spots To Make Friends And Meet New People

"Space Cowboy is where adults go to relive their spring break glory days on a brightly colored patio. At The Heights bar and pool, there is no such thing as a stranger, just a friend in a neon bathing suit that you haven’t met yet. Cool off as you sip a frozen margarita made of half tequila and half of whatever ingredients come in a Starburst. And you can always stay to dance the night away with your new pals because once the sun goes down, an EDM DJ set is all but inevitable." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

Space Cowboy - Review - The Heights - Houston - The Infatuation

"The spirit of Jersey Shore is alive and well at Space Cowboy. This Heights bar and pool is where adults go to relive their spring break glory days on a brightly colored patio. When folks aren’t cooling off in the pool, they’re sipping frozen margaritas made of half tequila and half of whatever ingredients come in a Starburst. So grab your most reflective bathing suit and a pair of flip-flops you can dance in. Once the sun goes down at this high-energy summer spot, an EDM DJ set is all but inevitable." - Gianni Greene

5/11/2024 *$10 Valet charge! - No free parking. Arrived in the early afternoon & stayed a couple hours. The outdoor area is available to rent so there was a kids Birthday party happening but no biggie. The area is shared with "The Heights Hotel" as well. The gate to the pool is open so you can arrive in a swim suit & hang out if you wish. (Bring your towels/ necessities.) Menu is very limited but the sampler was good. Plan to pay valet though- it was $10. Or Uber if with a group. The brick wall in the back parking is painted grey now so no more astronaut lady painting. Inside, behind the bar, the wall is a plain pink now. No more cool space/ astronaut theme wall. Cool little picture area by the bathrooms though.

I have been to several events at space cowboy and had an amazing time every time I go. The staff is great and always friendly, even when it gets super busy. The food is above par for "bar food" and never have waited very long after my order to get my food. And the atmosphere is one of a kind. Definitely a place to check out if you have never been.

Google
Space Cowboy is the lobby and bar area of the 50s era redo of a former interstate freeway roadside motor court hotel. It is three stories, has an expansive astroturf area with yard games, a covered outdoor area adjacent to the bar/lobby, and swimming pool area with semi private cabanas. A friend of mine was looking for a day escape from the concrete jungle, and this fit the bill. Wonderful friendly staff, The pool area included inflatable floats of all kinds, including an inflatable tic-tac-toe pool game. The lounge areas in the expansive patio housed comfortable seating with a bar area connected to the main interior bar, a small dog park, and pool-facing cabanas. It has been thoughtfully redesigned from its past life and has been completely renovated.

Google
This was a cool little place, visited 6/16/23-6/18/23. Christa was awesome. She took care of us by the pool during the day and took care of us at the bar during the evening. Very hard worker and awesome person. The food here was surprisingly good as well. Did not know what to expect. The pool was solid especially Saturday afternoon when they had a DJ. But Saturday evening was just dead. I really thought this place was going to be popping Saturday evening but I was wrong. Other than that, it's a cool little place and I'll be back.

Love everything about this place! Beautiful updated rooms, great attentive staff! ⭐Maria (manager) was very accommodating and Samantha is such a great waitress. ⭐The pool was awesome and the entertainment area was lovely! We meet so many friendly faces! We had a great time and look forward to going back VERY soon! 😀😍😁 (it was like a cruise but on land! Great little resort. 😁So much Fun!😅 )Highly recommend!

Google
This place was completely unknown to me until yesterday. I’m still fairly new to Houston and still getting around but there are so many hidden gems within Houston and sometimes you need to know somebody who know somebody to find out about it and that’s how I found out about the spot really cute atmosphere decorations, top-tier Very aesthetically Instagram for photos. There wasn’t a big crowd when I went and I preferred it. That way it’s attached to a renovated hotel. We sat in the pool area. It was a vibe. I would definitely come back here but I would prefer it at the level, I went as opposed to it being crowded.

Google
Had a chill Sunday outing that left all but the designated driver (me) feeling extra fine. A few things to note are that there is no A/C that we could discern, there is no table service, and of course there is a "trendy cost multiplier" of perhaps 3X. . Vibe was cool, people day drinking. Lots of people came, found it was hot, and left immediately. Can't blame them too much since it was 102F outside. . We tried a lot of the food. Some of us liked one dish and disliked another, so hard to recommend something for everyone; it'll be up to each person's individual tastes. . Drinks were good, if small. Packed a punch, so it was fine. . Pretty sure this place will be really enjoyable in October when temperatures drop and when the quarterly bonus hits my bank account.

Google
Space Cowboy, tucked inside a boutique hotel, is the perfect spot for a unique night out. With a pool and a covered lounge area, it’s an ideal place to relax, enjoy time with friends, and take in great music events. The vibe is always on point, with a drink menu that features unique cocktails (Rocket Fuel is my favorite!). The food menu is always evolving and on point—definitely get the wings! Whether you're with friends or enjoying a solo night out, Space Cowboy offers an unforgettable blend of music, drinks, and food in a vibrant setting.

Yelp
I came here for the first time on Sunday Funday for an event called RnB and Ribs, $10 in advance for a ticket. I came a bit early to assess the parking situation before it started. As I drove in, I saw parking to the left and a valet stand to the right. I should have gone with my gut and just parked at the parking lot where there were open spots at the time. Instead, I went left and paid $10 for valet parking. Which seemed unnecessary for a day party? We got inside easily since the party didn't start yet, and went outside where the dj was. They have some tables out on their patio, but mostly open space. I could see the pool to the far back. The entire place is surrounded by their hotel. Interesting concept? Our server was Shelby. She greeted us outside and said we could order with her, rather than going inside to the bar. One of the drinks they didn't have, so first I ordered "Houston We Have a Problem". It seemed like a pre made batch drink, Rita. It came frozen. I wish she would have offered me either frozen or on the rocks option. I would have chosen On the rocks. It was fine. Next, I ordered the Lychee Zypher Gin. It was much of the same, a pre made batch drink that tasted like the Rita I just had, but it was suppose to be Gin. I assumed the Gin drink would be on the rocks. But it also came frozen. And i still was not offered the option of frozen versus on the rocks. There isn't a whole menu, mostly bar food. I ordered a basket of fries for the table. They came well seasoned and hot, and that was a plus. The vibe was fab, great dj, with good music, crowd came to have a good time to dance and cut up. The party was very fun, but would I come back solely for drinks/snacks to hang out? Unlikely.

Yelp
I mean how can you not like a bar with a name like Space Cowboy?! Located in The Heights, this trendy bar is attached to a hotel and has some cool artwork. I've stopped by three times and you can find parking easily in their lot. You can have several different experiences at Space Cowboy. They have a spacious patio with comfortable seating and games like cornhole. You can also sit inside and enjoy the cool decor. A lot of creative cocktails are on the menu, including frozen ones. The food is also solid for bar food and I've had their chips and queso, pretzel, and wings. The music can be a little loud inside but other than that, no complaints! Service is standard.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times with friends and family. We are all black and for some reason everytime we come here we try to give this place another chance to prove it isn't our color that's the issue but the staff (white girl bartenders) always have such distaste for us especially black women! And don't get started on the pool! This particular woman in photo enforces the "whites Only" policy in the bar and the pool....which is really sad because the owner is such a sweet lady and I know she wants the best for her business but the girls she hired has their own agenda while her back is turned

Yelp
This place is a blast from the past with its colorful paint and amazing murals. You can snap some awesome pictures with your friends and make some lasting memories. The bar service is fast and friendly. The drink I got was a risk since i've never tried a premade Old Fashion. It was the Space cowboy OF and it came from a tap. I was curious because it had Uncle Nearest in it, which I've tried before. I would try something different next time it wasn't my favorite. The Southwest eggrolls were decent for bar food. They gave me plenty of sauce, which was nice. The best thing about this place is the fun vibe and the photo ops. Parking: No problem, there's a hotel connected.

Yelp
Trust me on this one, sit at the bar and let Karen take care of you ! She's awesome and the drinks are great! Venture outside to the back patio and you can sit on colorful, fun, lounge furniture under fans while playing Mega Jenga and munching on tacos and tots. The food is pretty standard bar style fare and pairs well with day drinking. The vibe here is fun, relaxed, and welcoming so it's easy to stay for hours just hanging with friends.

Yelp
Interesting little spot. This is a revitalized old highway motel that now has a bar/nightclub. When we went there was a local band playing, and a pretty large crowd. It was easy to get a drink, they keep the line moving, but plan to wait inline for the bathroom. There are small and usually about 6 to 10 people always waiting to get in (both men and women). Not sure if I would go back, but if you like an outdoor bar with a stage (and I assume usually a band) this could be a good option for you!

Yelp
Super cute spot. . .love love love the ascetics of this place. I mean!! There are sssoooo many selfie and photo opportunities available. Who doesn't love a good photo? Anyway. . .what's NOT so super cute is the price of these drinks and its literally just ice and juice. I'm not trying to get to the point where I black out but can I please get a little tipsy? I'm 100% positive there was only a tiny splash of alcohol in the drinks that I ordered. I also want to point out that the coconut drink that I bought had this HUGE square block of ice in it, cute, but I took 2 sips and the drink was gone. No bueno for a $10 drink. The staff was friendly but I highly doubt I'll be back because they are stingy and I don't like it. If I get invited to go with friends, I'll make sure to get lit in the parking lot before entering.

Yelp
Awesome bar connected in the Heights Hotel. Amazing space/cowboy theme that is purely genius. We didn't stay at the hotel.. we just went for the experience after hearing so much about this place. When you enter the front area of the bar, it really is amazing and eye catching. The art that cascades along the side of the wall leaves you in awe. Great little add ins to take selfies near the entrance and restroom. "Instagram worthy". We ordered 2 amazing cocktails that the bartender prepared. Top notch! One was called the piña colada and the pajaro. The outside area is awesome. Games, TVs, colorful sitting area and tasty drinks. I can't imagine how this place is in the summer next to the pool. Guess I'll have to find out! Highly recommended.

Yelp
I chose this bar for my best friends birthday and it was great! Very relaxed environment and amazing drinks.

Yelp
Really cool vibe! Live music is always a plus! The ambiance, decor, and art definitely make this place way cool! Some turnoffs are: rude bartender and a sticker was found on the produce. I'm a very patient person, but I ordered sauce for the fries and didn't get sauce. I mentioned this to the bartender and she never returned. After 10 minutes I went to the bar, which wasn't busy, and asked about the sauce. The bartender rolled her effing eyes and huffed her way back to the kitchen. GMAFB. The burger was actually really good! The fries were also not bad. I just ordered beer so can't talk about the cocktails, but they have a semi decent beer selection. Cool place, I just hope the attitude gets checked.

Yelp
The location was very interesting as its part of a larger hotel. The night I went, there was a private event happening outside, so only the indoor space was available. I think the inside space isn't anything special, so perhaps I would have enjoyed the experience more if we had sat outside. I didn't love the cocktail selection overall, so I don't think I will be going back.

Yelp
Such a fun little gem in Houston. The drinks were delicious and the pulled pork quesadillas were amazing. The bartender was adorable. You have to check it out.

Yelp
Wahooo! What cool vibez and such a chill spot. I know this is mainly a bar but their food was 11/10!!! The chef Lyle came out to introduce himself and provided such a great hospitality. Really cool dude from Hawaii. Our favorite food items was the octopus ceviche, short ribs, wings and the Lechon. Drinks were fruity and really pretty looking! Also got some Jell-O shots which I haven't taken one of those in like 6 years haha. There's a indoor area where check in for the Heights Hotel, bar and some couch/cocktail table seating. The colors were so vibrant all around. And then there's outdoor patio seating with hammocks, picnic tables and cabana style seats. DJ was outside too and if you sit outdoors you will have a designated waiter that will take your order. Prices were decent too in regards to the drinks between $9-$11. Parking-Free within the hotel lot I'll be back for the Vibez and Food!

Yelp
I am not one to resist a tropical-themed bar, much less one with so many Instagram-worthy drinks and decor! We came on a Thursday around 4:30pm (just after opening) were easily able to find parking in their large lot. Seating is either inside or on their large patio (we would have chosen the patio if it were better weather). As soon as you walk in you are treated to colorful murals, clever neon signs, and lush fake flora on the ceiling - it is a lot to take in! For the menu, they have a ton of variety for drinks, including lots of hand-crafted cocktails and several frozen options (yay Texas heat). During happy hour, frozens are $2 off, so we both opted for those and got the frozen Cuba Libre and the Is There Life on Mars. Both were excellent, just wish they were a bit larger for what you are paying - the happy hour pricing helps make that easier to swallow (haha). We also ordered the jerk cauliflower and the pork cracklins; both were made fresh with interesting flavor profiles and dipping sauces. Round 2 was the El Pajaro - definitely recommend, especially if you like Mezcal. I am not a huge Mezcal fan but still found the drink enjoyable thanks to its fruity flavors and tiki spices. All in all, this place just opened so we were lucky to go when it was still a well-kept secret. I can see this place blowing up in popularity soon, especially with the long summer nights on the way. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is such a vibrant, chill spot! It is colorful on the inside with uniquely designed signs, walls, and sayings. Outside on the patio, there is a big jinga, big connect four, couches, and tvs that gives kickback/game ambiance.

Yelp
Great price for great food I was surprised how tasty the sampler was. The woman behind the bar was great and personable. Food came quickly, and the drinks were tasty. Fun, funky decorations.

Yelp
We sat around at the Space Cowboy several times as we were staying at the (connected) Houston Heights H(M)otel and attending a music fest at the nearby White Oak Music Hall. Service here is friendly and there are, as many mention, some great photo opps and a lot of fun decor. The outdoor area is super breezy and comfortable. I was still at the fest one night but my traveling companion said Saturday nights were pretty wild with dancing and partying young folks. I think we had drinks here maybe 3 times over the course of several days. My friend just beer, and compared to most places in the vicinity it was fairly cheap ($3-$4 tallboys depending on the time of day). No beer on tap which was a bummer and limited beer options, but solid enough I suppose. I can't speak to the strength or quality of the mixed drinks that so many other posters have mixed feelings about, as I ordered whiskey or tequila straight or on the rocks when I wasn't drinking beer and it was priced consistent with bars in the area. Had dinner here once, burger was fine though service on that was slow. Definitely worth hanging out in if you're staying at the motel or in the area.

Yelp
I teach yoga at space cowboy and it's my favorite place to work and play! For yoga the space is perfect with options for shade or enjoying a perfect day with poolside yoga. The bar and restaurant is my go to for my favorite burger! It has sweet barbecue on top of a hearty burger. I usually take part of it to go because it's a nice sized burger. After yoga I love to hit the pool in the summer. The margaritas are the perfect balance of strong and so tasty! On Wednesday this is my favorite steak night for quality, quantity and presentation! This steak night you get a nice sized ribeye with the best sides. The sides rotate from week to week. It's one of the only bars I feel good going by myself. I always make new friends and the bartenders are so welcoming. It's a great vibe for a date too.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm glad that my friend decided to host her birthday here. There were great vibes to be had. We went on a Saturday evening with a dj. Plenty of people were dancing along with just hanging out. The pool shut down at a decent time which I thought was smart considering the drunk level. The show from people watching there was great. The drinks were good. Tons of fun things like a mini bucket. They had adult Capri suns which were a tad sweet but cute. Overall it was a mix of good and bad on the drinks. I was a bit disappointed when on a Saturday evening they ran out of coke as a mixer. The photo spots were great. I wish I had seen more of them that I saw after the fact online. The bathrooms were probably the most annoying with single stalls for a lot of folks.

Yelp
Very recently for the Hell's Heroes metal festival in Houston, we stayed at the Heights House Hotel. To our surprise there was a bar and restaurant on the same property, Space Cowboy. The Space Cowboy has plenty of tasty foods and drinks to choose from. Also a crown jewel the establishment has is excellent service and friendliness from the staff. I must say that Crysta and Rachel were two of my favorite bartenders I've ever encountered while on a trip anywhere in the world. They made us and everyone feel at home. I highly recommend visiting even if you aren't staying at the hotel itself.
google avatar

Yelp
Every single time i visit Houston, I have to stop Space Cowboy! The music & food is ALWAYS on point and they bring in such a good crowd of people! The only mistake I ever make when it comes it this spot is convincing myself I'm only going to stay for an hour or two because I never want to leave 10/10 recommend Ps: Go during happy hour- thank me later

Yelp
My first time coming to space cowboy. It was a unique experience. It's also connected to a hotel which came to my surprise. The interior of space cowboy had a nice unique style to it. It had some awesome area to take pictures for your instagram. If you're also into anime, they have some cowboy bebop picture frames on the wall. The patio/outside was nice to lounge around in. It had turf on the floor so it was nice to walk on. The music they had on a saturday night was ehhh. it was more throw back techno?? i don't know how to describe it but it wasn't really my type of music. It can be quite loud so i would sit far from the speakers. It was not crowded at all on a saturday night which was surprising, but there were bits of people here and there The drinks were strong, or at least the fishbowl was. it took 4 people to finish it since it was so strong. but no complaints there since most other places are light on the alcohol. The fruit drink we got was really good. It came with mint, dragon fruit, and strawberry bits in it as a garnish. Couldn't taste the alcohol in it but it could be dangerous!!
google avatar

Karen D.

Yelp
Came here during the white linen festival on a Saturday night. We did not need a res and were seated on the patio after just walking in. There is valet parking available. Started with a couple of cocktails including this very innovative drink with ube and a popsicle - this was my fave! Also had their white linen special - this pork taco that was very tasty. I enjoyed their spam dish (looked like a sushi roll) and fried cauliflower but thought the poke didn't have enough fish. The decor is vibrant and fun. There was a DJ that added to the experience, and there was also a loteria (Latin bingo-esque game) contest that was super fun. My one gripe is I ordered orange wine but they brought me something clearly not orange. The first server insisted it was the right one, but when I asked the second server, he said it was not the orange wine and then corrected it.

Yelp
I came here on a Tuesday, surprisingly satisfied. Keep in mind you might miss this because it's also a hotel? As you entered you come across these space T's which are for sale, cute plants, and this very hip and aesthetically pleasing decor of the galaxy. The restroom area has cute designs for photos to be taken. The bar itself is quite small but the one bartender was very sweet and efficient. Our drinks were yummmny! The outdoor patio was spacious also for larger groups!
google avatar

Bridget R.

Yelp
Was avoiding this place for a bit because it is newer and a instagrammers and tick tockers paradise. Went on a Tuesday after work and was thoroughly impressed. Such a cool concept! Awesome decor and setup. I was most surprised by how amazing the drinks and food were for a place I thought would be more focused on aesthetics. The bartenders were friendly, helpful and legit in their mixology. I had the first mezcal drink I ever liked! On the food side, we only tried a couple of items but each were amazing! The spam sushi and the bar. Flavor, toppings, presentation, texture, everything was great! The staff seems to really get along too, which always makes a visit more comfortable. They also know the other local places and industry people and are happy to share other local joint ideas if you ask. Love that!!! You can stay over night at the motel or pay $20 to enjoy the pool facilities. Can't wait to come back again!
google avatar

Angela R.

Yelp
It's a really fun atmosphere with outdoor games. The food was amazing. Would definitely go back.
google avatar

Joanna Q.

Yelp
This is a really cool bar. My friend Kasia and I came here for our first stop of the night and there was complimentary valet parking. They were super nice and made us aware we didn't have to pay, but I still tipped $10. The outside area was a bit empty since we got there early, around 8 PM, and so was the indoor area. The indoor bar is super cool and the aesthetic is great for pictures. I got a few drinks (pictures attached) and they were all really good. This bar is also attached to a motel, which is also super cool.
google avatar

Moriah H.

Yelp
I visited Space Cowboy about two weeks after they opened from what I understand. I had a blast. My server was authentic and enjoyable. He was clearly enjoying working and being on the team. The vibes of the outdoor space remind me of LA or Austin, and it's nice to see that vibrancy coming to Houston even post-Covid closures. I really couldn't tell you how alcoholic the mixed drinks are since I just got whiskey but the drinks were kitschy and fun. I saw lots of adult capri sun packets. When I was here, the crowd was older, maybe 23-26. Very comfortable and fun without being rowdy or gross. I also really enjoyed the music being played. This is not another Anvil, but Space Cowboy is a new fun neighborhood joint.
google avatar

Yelp
The epitome of Heights. Chill vibes, great space & I've always met someone cool. Also, if you drink too much get a room! It's a vibe!

Yelp
This place is nice! Nestled next to a cute hotel, this colorful bar has outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating is pretty spacious. Also important to note...they have a boba cocktail. Their variety of cocktails is unique! I tried the Cream Fortress, La Fresona, and Sun Soaked on Montie Beach. The Cream Fortress is the boba cocktail, and it was creamy with a strong coconutty flavor. It was also a strong drink, unlike La Fresona, where I could actually not taste the booze...it was super fruity and sweet! The Sun Soaked on Montie Beach was my favorite; a balance of sweet and ginger flavors. The service was kind and quick. These days it looks like bartenders don't wear masks, I guess, so keep that in mind when you're going for a night out at Space Cowboy. Parking situation: on-site
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
Been wanting to check this place out so we swung by after dinner. The atmosphere is so much fun! The outdoor patio has a great vibe with plenty of tables and chairs for big or small groups. The music playing that night was great too-mostly old school jams. The #runawaywithrich was my favorite drink that I got. The cream fortress was ok-I love boba but this one was hard and inedible. The coconut shrimp bao were just ok, nothing special about them. The tako sunomono (grilled octopus) is worth getting. It's basically a grilled octopus ceviche served with shrimp chips. The service was excellent-there were 2 employees constantly circling the patio to make sure everyone was ok.

Karina N.

Yelp
Cool spot! We had a blast here playing jenga outside and hanging out in the bar with Art covered walls. Such a cool place! However, they weren't carrying a lot of liquor or drink options. The bartender said she was sorry for everything we suggested that she didn't have. I guess they had a big night the night before. We finally got some drinks in and enjoyed the experience. I will say to be mindful of the panhandlers. Since the location is close to the freeway and draws some attention, I think they end up drifting over.

Caylin P.

Yelp
Love the vibes! Celebrated my birthday here with friends. Got cute pics, and enjoyed the outdoor games.

Jaime S.

Yelp
Good drinks but this place could also be a massage parlor! Does Yelp know this! A $10 parking fee doesn't bode well either. I don't recommend it!
google avatar

Allison M.

Yelp
This place has a lot of potential to be great! It looks great online and in the past reviews. The space is nice, and plenty of TVs but none of them were on even though there were big games the day we were there. The staff didn't seem like they were ready for customers even though they were open for 45 min by the time we got there. The online menu was apparently no longer accurate so they had paper menus that had a much smaller selection than we expected. We had one drink and left. It's a cute spot and could be fun if you're staying at the hotel, but it was not the outdoor cocktail bar hang we were looking for. I see other people have had a great experience and the picture look great, hopefully it was just an odd time, or there are just some kinks that need to be worked out.

Yelp
On a recent work trip, I was looking for a hotel closer to Hobby airport and came across Heights House Hotel. Reading reviews and looking through pictures it looked like a cute place to try out. The rooms where clean and updated and the hidden gem was the Space Cowboy Restaurant and Bar. Sam was the bartender and server and was awesome! Very attentive, quick and super nice the Big Daddy cocktail was delightful, so good! I had an order of Elotes and The Houstian Nachos, also both very good. If you're looking for a fun atmosphere, good food, drinks and hospitality definitely check out The Space Cowboy! Thanks Sam

Yelp
My husband and I came here for happy hour and it was decent. I liked the vibe here, and it has a very chill atmosphere. The aesthetics of this spot is pretty nice as well. If you like taking photos, you can get some really nice photos here due to the decor and design of the place.

Yelp
Awesome little hotel/lounge. My parents moved to Texas a year ago and my wife and I came across this place on Yelp. They have an awesome atmosphere inside and outside...it's so picturesque. The food was good My wife got the mahi chicken sandwich and I got their burger, my mom got their asada fries which were a little salty, and my pops got their burger as well. The waitress was nice and professional. It seems that their menu changes periodically so don't be surprised if what you want is not on the menu. Come down and take a trip to visit space cowboy.

Yelp
A very new bar located at the heights house hotel, offers a very 80s aesthetic for anyone that wants to take a break from all the speakeasy's styled bars Houston has. Going in, the parking was easy to find as there's tons of parking spots next to the bar that are attached to the hotel. From there you're greeted to a pool followed by astro-turf on the outside. The bar itself was pretty full but not full enough to where you couldn't find a spot but that might change in the near future so watch out! Plenty of spots to sit outside though where you can feel like a background character in a 80s film. The have waiters that go around too so you don't have to worry about constantly going to the bar which I thought was nice, plus they were all quick too The drinks themselves I found to be hit or miss. I only say that though because I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I feel like if you love your drinks to taste like a smoothie then you'll love this place but for me I didn't care too much for it. Granted that was also my fault cause I went for one of the most sugary drinks right off the bat. I got the banana hammock which is essentially a banana daiquiri with whip cream on top. I will give props to the El Pajaro drink because it comes with a little loteria card with it which I thought was cool. Overall, if you like your drinks sweet and just finished watching Scarface or just want to support a new local bar, then please checkout space cowboy.

Yelp
I loved this place! The bartender gave excellent service and was even better at recommending drinks for us! This was especially helpful as they had sold out of other options! ~ I can understand why they are so popular- the bartender gave us free Jell-O shots. The ambiance is very trendy and funky- would definitely show the place to a friend.

Yelp
We had so much fun at brunch at Space Cowboy! The food was fantastic: my favorite was the coconut shrimp bun, and the fish taco was great too. The space is very fun--it's primarily outdoors and totally turfed and connected to the hotel's pool, but with some indoor seating, and seems to be mostly a bar. A great spot for fun drinks and appetizers with friends!

Yelp
This place is really chill. Outdoor is nice and pets friendly. We had fun a lot of fun while there. Bartender was very friendly. Fish tacos are solid! However, I cannot say the same for shrimp bowl. There were barely any tiny shrimps, mostly veggies and expensive for the price.

Yelp
If you have kids, you will know that "I want to have my Birthday party HERE" is one of the highest compliments you can pay to a location. Well... I want to have my Birthday party HERE! Popped in after the Astro's game yesterday afternoon. Immediately fell in love with the entire vibe: the murals, the neon, the entire retro 60's HoJo pool scene. Ordered two of the specialty cocktails, for which I do not remember the name, but I think they hired Bill Cosby as a bartender, because I don't remember much after that. All jokes aside, drinks were sweet but fun (and potent). The quality of the food we ordered was a bonus. Ordering ceviche in a bar would usually be on par with eating gas station sushi, but in this case was delicious. Literally my only gripe was that they ran out of T-shirts. I'm in love with the logo.. guess I will have to go back.

Yelp
Small but great dog-friendly bar hidden in the Heights. Fast & friendly service. The wings were fresh and hot. Drink was well-presented but I wasn't a fan of the flavor (my problem, not theirs). Large covered outdoor area that stays dry even with rain. Hard to find a place that allows dogs inside!

Yelp
Cool swanky bar located in The Heights Hotel. The decor of this place is hip and modern. Makes me wanna rent a room here. We came in for a few drinks. Drinks were just ok, a bit over priced for the size of what you get for your buck. We tried a few food items, too. The mole tacos were authentic and phenomenal along with the poke bowl and chips and queso.

Yelp
The service was excellent. The pricing was great for food and happy hour. The birilla tacos were exceptional. You dip them in a red enchilada gravy! Delish.

Yelp
Worst bar I've ever been to. We walked in, 5 sitting people at the bar and 2 people sitting outside. The place was not busy at all, yet the bartender would not acknowledge us and even ignored us when we tried to get his attention to order a drink. Oh also there were 5 tables outside in the heat which still had not been bused and flies surrounding the plates.
