The Best Karaoke Bars In Philadelphia

"We all have that friend who constantly messes up lyrics. When you’re fed up with hearing  “Sweet dreams are made of cheese,” bring them to Sky Club & Lair KTV. The Chinatown spot has a massive screen in their main room that’s large enough for your friend to finally see the actual words, and for you to feel like you’re headlining a tour. One of the few places with YouTube and music app plug-ins to their song library, they have one of the largest and most current selections of songs. Thanks to the colorful, disco-like floor, it can sometimes turn into a dance party and even get a little weird (we’ve seen couples do a strip tease). But if watching dance foreplay isn’t your thing, you can always head to one of their 16 private rooms.   " - candis mclean

Google
not what i was expecting for a karaoke lounge but we still had a good time. i found it overpriced and the food service was very slow, so eat before you go. i think this place is catered toward a specific crowd.

Victoria Lanzillotti

Google
Honestly this place is overpriced and while the staff does thier best to provide good service it just wasn’t which I blame the owners. We waited at the bar for 15 minutes while we waited for our group. They charged 5 DOLLARS for bottles of water and refuse to give you tap, the internet was constantly skipping out and keep us from choosing songs we liked, and things were just so expensive. They charge crazy fees at the end and automatically charge tip to every check. The pitcher had a decent amount of drink and the food tasted decent but thier offerings were extremely limited. No one really explained how ordering works and the mic kept dying. I would not recommend.

Ben

Google
Mandatory gratuity fee that was 20% of the base charge that doesn't include any accommodations whatsoever (no water). On top of that, an 8.33% for taxes, which I guess they just decided to round it. If you pay with credit card, that's another ~2.89% charged on top of the previous total. The staff are always nice and accommodating, but the fees don't nearly justify the experience. I ended up paying 34% more of the base charge. Also the private bathroom door can't shut fully in one of the medium rooms. Some speakers have static.

Came here for a bachelorette and was disappointed with a number of things. Most notably - they don’t provide water!!! The only way to get water is to buy a $5.50 small water bottle. I asked for tap water and they said they’re not allowed to provide that. For a place that is clearly a drinking establishment, it feels criminal to not provide water pitchers at a minimum. Also - our package came with 2 liquor bottles. Both arrived warm!! I was shocked. Inside our room we had a good time but the upcharging and warm liquor was less than ideal and the place could overall really use some updating and deep cleaning. It is evident that management only cares about how much $$ they’re making.

I had an amazing birthday celebration at SPACE! The experience was fantastic from start to finish. The private KTV room we booked was awesome and well-equipped. The bar service was excellent and the staffs were friendly and attentive, making sure our glasses were never empty. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate my birthday. If you're looking for a great karaoke experience with top-notch bar service, this is the place to go.

Siddharth Ambhore

Google
This place isn't as advertised at all. Our private karaoke room did not have an operational A/C, the mics on the karaoke machine kept malfunctioning and the staff was not able to fix it. Two out of the three TVs were broken (black strip lines). The bar tender was rude at times and not courteous. Unfortunately, we had a really terrible experience here.

Jared Haverdink

Google
Broken TVs, dead mics, constant squealing feedback, laggy systems, subpar song selection, filthy bathrooms... this was not even remotely close to being worth the hefty price tag. There are only two things preventing this from a 1 star review. First, the service was quick, excellent, and apologetic. Secondly, the food was completely delicious. Beyond that, either the price needs to come down or the facilities need to improve.

Google
Celebrated my birthday here. The staff is great at explaining the room and helping throughout the entire night. The room is very comfortable and spacious too. The package deals were really great for a big group. Highly recommend :)

Yelp
I came for a friend's birthday. She rented a room for three hours which came with bottle service and 2 appetizers. The room itself was adorable and a great size for our party of 9. There was enough room for all of us to sit and dance, without tripping on the furniture or each other. The song catalogue is maybe 4 years old, but has some real bangers and is very international! The birthday girl sang Diljit Dosanjh. It is synced to YouTube which took a minute for us to figure out, but further expanded the catalogue. For the bottle service, they gave us 2 bottles of Espolòn and some juices which carried us through the night. For our appetizers, we had fries and buffalo chicken bites. They were very, very basic and came in a checkered basket. Also, we brought a birthday cake and the staff kindly helped us to present the cake with sparklers. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend for a birthday party if you have the means! Given the price though, I took 1 star for the food and for only having 2 employees working. They were both lovely, but clearly stretched too thin.

Yelp
The security is the worst! The rooms are clean. It seemed easy to navigate songs but not all were the original artists

Yelp
Had a great time here ! Rented a small room for karaoke and was pleasantly surprised by the size cleanliness and private restroom! Food options looked good and staff was attentive and caring Only wish I'd stayed longer!!

Yelp
This is the only KTV place I will go in Philly. The atmosphere is awesome. -The management (shoutout Sandy!) & staff are beyond friendly, welcoming, responsive, and go above and beyond! They all work so hard & are very attentive to customer needs and requests!! -The main bar is spacious, fun, vibrant, and the song selection is endless! *You will not stay in your seat for long! My friends and I spend a lot of time singing and dancing as the vibe is always UP! Private rooms are also great! Each room (sizes vary!) is set up adorably. Packages, pricing, and services offered are great and the colors/decor/furniture make them super fun too!! This spot is under new name (SPACE!) , and ownership which is amazing!! So many new renovations/changes have been made to create a very modern and exciting look. Super cleanly building and comfortable- too!! Food is also super good & I have yet to be disappointed in anything I have ordered! Definitely worth the night out - you will be back!!!

Yelp
Came here for my 25th birthday and loved it! The room was pretty and pink. Super clean. Karaoke set was super easy to use and the touch screen had youtube so it was easy to find songs. Definitely will be back! Only downside was the kitchen was under renovation but they allowed us to bring outside food so it worked out :)

Yelp
A fancy looking karaoke lounge. I was impressed - especially with the private bathrooms in each suite. They let you bring your own food in, which was awesome too. The only issues we encountered include the security guard up front who told us several times we weren't on his list. Turns out he only goes by the first name on the reservation, so if you provide a full name, he won't think outside the box. The karaoke room also got quite hot. Service was nice though. Very friendly lady who arrived in the room just seconds after you hit the call button.

Yelp
Lots of fun here for karaoke. Drink options are limited outside of liquor, and kitchen is currently closed but they allow you to bring in food. Music list is extensive but there some genres are lacking even for popular hits. (Punk, metal, rock). Great spot to have fun with a group of friends.

Yelp
Hooray to writing my 300th review! Lair KTV is one of the coolest and trendiest Karaoke/Lounge hang out spots in Philadelphia. Visiting my cousin for the weekend, she suggested getting several of us together (two of her friends, another person from out of town and another relative). Before you know it we were heading to Downtown Philly, specifically to Chinatown to paint the town red!-lol. Hopping around to Parkside Beef & Ale for food, cocktails + dancing (the DJ's music set was fantastic) then to Yakitori Boy (a Karaoke place) we realized that we wanted to enjoy Karaoke in a less crowded setting. Someone in the group mentioned Lair KTV and we walked there in a matter of minutes. Lair KTV has a colorful aesthetic throughout the establishment. Lair KTV has a "club" feel w/ bright, bold lights in various colors in part of he ceiling. The bar area is towards the back section near some interesting artwork. White lounge style seats were paired w/ chic tables. Giant flat screen televisions are present so that you can definitely see the lyrics in large print as they go across the screen while singing. All of us were ready to sing our hearts out and we did exactly that until the place closed-lol. Staff explained to us that you have to buy two drinks to be able to order one song. Well, two of us each had a cocktail and multiple songs were selected. As I enjoyed my well prepared Amaretto Sour, the microphone was passed to me as I volunteered to sing Ne-Yo's popular song "So Sick". Other patrons were singing along and we all joined in to sing. Loved the thunderous applause-lol. Karaoke is the best when we all sound not-so-good together all the while being supportive of each each other. Soon, we were singing Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart" and Whitney Houston's "I am Every Woman" for the big finale. Had a great time! Lair KTV remains open until around 2am and this specific night they closed around midnight to set up for a private party. Staff let us know that people.can rent the space for private Karaoke parties up to around 4 hours @ $300 an hour. Just wished that the place was open longer....other than that it is a nice spot that provided great atmosphere.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for Karaoke in Philly. I have rented a room 5 times total? At least. Once a small room- the owner/manager was awesome. Rented a package last year for my birthday and did again this year! I kind of wish they had the smaller rooms available during the weekdays but nonetheless I had an absolute blast. The staff is friendly, helpful, extremely compassionate..lol. The rooms are nice, working mics and TVs (they are quick to replace if any issue). You pay upfront and they are very upfront with cost. Great selection for songs (karaoke rooms traditionally not great for any song 15+ years old). Plus they held my champagne safe until I picked it up 4 days later (kept it at the door- can't bring outside alcohol in).

Anna L.

Yelp
I had my birthday party there last Saturday and was told prior to the day of that because they double booked the (VIP) room it was only available for 4 of the 5 hours I was paying for and that I would get a discounted price. I was charged the full amount and we never even received the food that was also supposed to be included. When we were there I had to go ask the desk about the drinks that were also included and they looked confused. I think it would have been better to have worked out the drinks when I made the reservation. Overall the room is really nice but for the price it was a little disappointing. Oh also when I called to ask about the charges I was told someone would call me back and they never did.
google avatar

Katie D.

Yelp
Security did an invasive pat-down search on our black friends and didn't check the white members of our party at all. The rest of the staff was friendly and courteous, but drink service was infrequent.

Yelp
I just met with the owner and had a personal walk-through he spared no expense and if you're familiar with an authentic Chinese karaoke bar with VIP bottle service this is it! Classy appointments throughout the entire space, the biggest VIP rooms hold anywhere from 45 to 50 people (and the average room holds comfortably 12 to 20 people), everything is brand new and was shipped in from China so this place is five stars all the way! I will be definitely holding a special birthday, or, holiday party here in near future, even better --- if you want to have an intimate place with friends --- this is the NEWEST classiest spot to do it in Chinatown (@$15-$50pp depending on what you order/size of group it's not that crazy when you cost it out for what you get)...WINNING

Yelp
The experience we had made us want to leave at the start. The security guard was very rude to us when we walked it. He wasn't able to find our reservation and blamed it on us and basically told us to leave even though I just talked to the place on the phone 10 minutes prior. I said "maybe they put it under the name Ryan because my name is Brian" and he said "nobody would mess that up". LMAOOO it's my name and literally everyone messes that up. After he realized he was wrong he was so bitter. When we were in the room, at first it seemed a bit dirtier than expected and smelled just like a club, but once we got the lights turned off it was great. They had pretty much every song we wanted to sing so that was great. I think the karaoke experience was definitely worth it, but maybe at a different place because I wouldn't want to deal with getting into the room again.

Yelp
I came here for a company karaoke event. Here are the highlights: -Compared to the karaoke bars we have used in the past--read: regular bars with music and mics--this one was an upgrade. -They have a great fruit selection. That's kind of a weird thing to say about a karaoke bar, but hey, sometimes you just want a fruit skewer. -I wasn't a huge fan of the DJ booth style karaoke. Normally, you go somewhere and they have the huge book o' songs, but here, you have to go ask the DJ if he has a certain song. That said, he had a nice variety of English and Spanish songs from the 60s to today, so that was good. -Note that it's hard to find this place. The actual location behind the Lair sign makes it seem like it's closed. But just go about 15 feet down the street into the random anteroom, and Lair is downstairs. On the whole, I've seen better and I've seen worse, but we had a good time here.

Yelp
Great venue, glow up dance floor, good song selections. Held my birthday party here and everything was set up and ready for us! Sandy is a star. Lair KTV made my event an awesome one!
google avatar

Yelp
A little run down but so much fun! We went here for my birthday and got a private Karaoke room and it was amazing! The staff was incredible and super accommodating. They allowed us to bring our own cake which was so nice! There is a call button in the room to order food and drinks. I was shocked at how affordable it was for the number of people we had and amount of time we spent there! I already can't wait to go back again! If you are looking for a fun place to celebrate or just a great night out with friends definitely check it out. The private rooms are a huge plus and so much fun to just let lose around your friends!

Yelp
Thank you for making my dad's 50th birthday party a memorable one! We were originally going to plan my dad's surprise birthday party at Tango, but after messing up our reservation, Lair KTV became an option for us and I am glad that it did! Linda was kind enough to let us leave party decorations earlier than our reservation so we can set it up for later since it was a surprise party. We reserved the room good for 20 people, which was true to size. They were pretty strict with ID's upon entry, so make sure your guests are 21+ :) There were three huge screens and two mics available and it was perfect. The song selections were pretty nice and had a pretty big range. It seems almost up-to-date. It was very easy to navigate and look for songs. Everybody definitely sang their hearts out. Room service was great! Everytime we rang they came in at a timely manner to serve us. Staff was so nice. I can't remember everyone's name but I believe David, Linda, and Sandy were a whole lot of help to us! The food was awesome! We ordered calamari, French fries, steamed shrimp dumplings, beef chow fun, and crispy chicken wings. They came pretty fast too. They also let us bring in our own cake and they were nice enough to store it for us until it was ready to serve. We also ordered cases of beer so I like that they have this option. Price was reasonable having the room available to us from 9:30PM to 1AM. Gratuity was included already, but we also tipped more because the staff was excellent. Thanks Lair KTV for an amazing time and experience!

Shari C.

Yelp
The space was clean, and the staff was amendable totally would return there! The room sizes are great. But there's a limited options on rap and R&B.
google avatar

Yelp
On Friday, we went out to celebrate my sister's birthday. She had gotten a karaoke room for 3 hours, which turned into 4 cause she couldn't stop singing. However, without the possibility to sing our night away, this experience wouldn't have been as fun. The food wasn't that great, nor was the service... Also, a lot of things that were asked for as far as food and drinks, we were told they didn't have. So that was like ehhhh... But if you want to sing the night away as you wish, with the volume on ignorant levels, have at it! Lol
google avatar

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Security at the door has your name but its like on a napkin. Room that we had was all the way downstairs on the back kind of scary and there is like no phone service down there but not sure if they had wifi because they didn't offer any information about it. Waiter can take your order and there is a button to press for more service which is cool but make sure they show you at the beginning. Felt like waiter was trying to make us buy bottle service. Room is nice and pretty good selection of music. Overall not a bad time would just approach it differently knowing what I know now.
google avatar

Leona R.

Yelp
Came here couple times with friends. Private rooms are minimum spending so you have to spend a certain amount per hour. I really enjoyed coming here never had any of the problems these reviews talked about. Gratuity is 20% automatically added But my friends like to tip them more because of the excellent service. Bouncer at the front doors that lead to the downstairs bar is very strict with IDs so make sure you bring it or you won't get in. Pros: Servers come quickly when you ring the bell and the food is pretty good. The servers are polite and helpful and the drinks come within like two min super fast. The stage in the downstairs public lounge is super fun especially when you're hammered, singing your heart out with your friends. Cons: MAKE A RESERVATION. Especially on weekends it can be hard to walk in without reservation they can be super busy. (Not really a con but for some people it might be: don't be an ass, the staff will not take nonsense from rude customers, as I witnessed this in person. Disrespectful customers, or people that can't keep their hands to themselves will be escorted out. Definitely not a con for our group as an annoying creepy guy grabbed my friend. ) Overall, my friends have started coming here every two weeks WE LOVE IT

Yasif A.

Yelp
Canceled my private karaoke room reservation 1 day before a planned bday celebration.

Yelp
Five stars for Lair KTV! Had a great night with my coworkers singing and slinging drinks. Sandy was amazing as our hostess/bartender. Our whole night was flawless and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Yelp
As far as karaoke places go, this is not going to be one of my go-to's. Let me start off by saying that there is a heavy cigarette smell permeating throughout the venue so it's very off putting if you're sensitive to it like me. The staff here is cordial but they take a long time to respond to our call bell. First of all, their karaoke machines took about 10 minutes to load the program in order for us to start singing. For a new system it should not have so many malfunctions. Needless to say, I prefer yakitori boy by a landslide.
google avatar

Phylisha M.

Yelp
Spent a fun time here for my friend's bachelorette party. She enjoyed herself and we all had a good time. The rooms were nice and fit 8 of us comfortably. There is also conveniently a bathroom is the room for the group. Also the food and drinks were decent and everything was served in a timely fashion. My qualms we're mainly with the system. It super hard to choose songs. It's not intuitive which is necessary for a room full of people who are drinking. Also it a bit expensive. We took advantage of spending the price of the room on food and drinks but it was an expensive evening. Overall it's a fun experience but I'd prefer an easier way to have fun.

Yelp
Everybody's opinion is different . I decided to book my 31st birthday here because I didn't do much for my 30th birthday last year. I called a month ahead in advanced to book a private room for my event. They was able to book me in . They told me upon arriving, there would be a bouncer st the door ID-ing everyone and everyone had to be at least 21 years of age and over with an ID. That wasn't true. Nobody was card . Everybody was able to just walk thru to the hostess downstairs and asked which room we're supposed to be in. My room was clean amd nice. Wished they would have more microphone for such a bigger group that I had with me. Two wasn't enough because we all wanted to sing and have a good time. Food portions was very small and expensive. I have to order three of each things in order to feed all my guests. The karaoke machine didn't really have much updated songs and a little difficult to use. Service was good they was able to come fast everytime I press the button for room service. I probably wouldn't return because I could of gone elsewhere and pay much lesser. Overall, I'm happy all my guests attend but my night ended up okay.
google avatar

Chels C.

Yelp
You walk into their street level restaurant. A bouncer checks you ID's and you head down the stairs to the private room and lounge area. The private rooms are small, food over priced. As far as an open karaoke bar goes this lounge aesthetically is pleasing but I can't see how the microphones don't actually pick up sound. Either they're crappy mics or they should turn down the volume, that's strike one. Strike two: The awkwardly high booth backings. You would have to be kneeling in order to watch people perform. It's truly an inconvenience. Even the drinks were overpriced to me. Can't say I'd even attempt considering coming here again.
google avatar

Bo W.

Yelp
Cool stage and bar area, music selection at the main stage is poor, charges for club soda. If you are looking for a little bit of fun, then Lair is a spot worth stopping at. Just set your expectation low then you won't be disappointing. I went with some friends and the selection of music at the main stage was not great. Sure they will have a good selection of pop songs but it doesn't take long for you to realize that the library is not very deep. On top of that I asked for a club soda and it was $3 dollars. Now it's not a big deal to be charged for club soda but it better be from a bottle if your charging me or I better get a big glass of it. Neither was the case. Drinks were also not great. The only saving grace is the main stage which if you have a good group can be lot of fun. Again set your expectation and you will enjoy it... probably.
google avatar

Laura D.

Yelp
Had so much fun with my work party here. Sandy went above and beyond to accommodate us and make sure we had a blast. We had the best time! Thanks Sandy!
google avatar

Danielle L.

Yelp
The staff were friendly. It was very hygienic. Overall it was an amazing time. They let us bring our own cake and brought it to our room when we were ready to sing happy birthday. I'd definitely go there again. Cute place. Great atmosphere

Sheyla E.

Yelp
Had so much fun with a few of my friends and got upgraded to a really nice room with a large tv system and it's own bathroom. Thank you for the great customer service!!!

Irena K.

Yelp
Excellent service, pretty up to date and diverse song choice!! Getting the deal that includes a bottle of liquor with mixers is a great way to meet the minimum spending required to rent the room!
google avatar

Rui P.

Yelp
I've been to Lair KTV a couple times, but my experiences only speak to the public karaoke lounge but not the private rooms. The two-star rating is for the decor and the Karaoke stage, which is one of the nicest in Philly. However, the karaoke experience is far from satisfaction. The mic voice is always too low in volume and the DJ refused to turn it up or mute the original singing. It's watching music videos, not karaoke. On top of that, the drinks are pretty pricy.
google avatar

Andy J.

Yelp
Staff was super attentive! Was a great night out! Room had its own bathroom which was convenient. Be aware that they are no longer serving food, only drinks.
google avatar

Shanelle H.

Yelp
Amazing experience and amazing drinks. The staff here is friendly and attentive. The drinks are perfect and there is a lot of space downstairs, so a communal karaoke event can safely break out into an improv ballroom dance experience. And it did. The song list is a bit limited (queue Aziz Ansari "yall aint got no Genuwine") but that was a small downside to an otherwise amazing experience.
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
just awesome experience for a night out! gets crowed so if you're covid conscience watch out. private rooms and drinks are great!
google avatar

Rebecca J.

Yelp
We had karaoke room reservations on Sat night 7pm-10pm. Were given a smaller room than last time. Mixed drinks were bad; got bottled beer instead. Took over an hour to get the food we ordered. When we tried to order more food with 1+hour still remaining, we were told no-it couldn't be made that fast. (If anyone has eaten Chinese food before, they know how fast it's prepared.) We asked again for the food, and told no again. We were promoted ushered out of our room at 10:00. Music choices were good. Microphone batteries needed replaced 2x in 3 hours.

Molly D.

Yelp
Went for a friends 21st birthday. Had such a fun time. Staff was so friendly and responsive and facility was very clean. Songs in karaoke room were somewhat limited and a few had some odd videos but we didn't mind. Owner was very kind and bought a round of shots for our party. Would definitely recommend for a group event.

Yelp
I had my wife's 30th birthday party here. Bill, the manager, was super helpful, always accommodating, and prepared for our party. He had the tables reserved as promised, and even had balloons out for her. As we came in, he even had a happy birthday song cued up for her. A really nice touch. The negative comments written here are really just hyper-critical. If you are a super serious karaoke person, maybe there's some things you notice that I don't. But if you're just looking for a wild night of karaoke in a clean place with a helpful staff, look no further than Lair KTV. Thanks again Bill and the Lair KTV staff for making my wife's birthday party one she'll never forget!!!!

Melissa L.

Yelp
While LairKTV is relatively new, it fell short of expectations. Food was overpriced and not at all filling. Only things really worth it are the skewers($2-4) and the noodle/rice dishes($12+). I would not recommend appetizers( $8 for dim sum har gao?!) as they were very overpriced for small plates. The smoothies were also filled more with ice than the red beans and matcha so that it was more like flavored ice than a smoothie. Singing the karaoke was only ok. I liked that they had a category for I Am A Singer so that you could pick all the songs that have ever appeared on there. But a lot of the other categories, such as new songs, didn't actually have songs listed. It was somewhat hard to find songs. There's also no way to lower the volume of the mic, so you have to sing with the mic about a feet in front of you, and because of the close proximity to the speakers, there was a constant screeching and ringing noise, especially if you had both mics on. Service was terrible. First of all, I should mention that since we were in a room toward the end of the hall, there was absolutely NO CELL SERVICE. I could not call my friends initially to find out when they'd arrive(the timer started the moment me and another friend arrived), nor could I look up songs I liked later in the night to search for it in their system. Did not change even when I stepped outside the room. Food took forever to come out. I think that from the time we ordered, it took almost an hour and a half before we got our entrees. We ended up staying another hour(+$50) so that after we finished entrees we could still sing to the birthday girl and cut the cake. Then the hostess/server actually stood by the door waiting for us to pay after breaking a few bills for us; left after we asked for more time. Overall, I would not recommend nor suggest LairKTV.

Yelp
Best place to have for a get together. Their customer service was beyond great and they gave out a lot of compliment snacks.

Yelp
Review of private rooms: Outdated rooms and song selections, TV screens with cracks, and couches are falling apart. Cannot adjust microphone volume (staff said they're not allowed to touch it). On top of that, they weirdly push a dim sum cart into your room asking if you want snacks. Go somewhere else, not worth it here.

Yelp
Lair KTV is pretty damn sweet. While I've never booked a private room, the lounge area has been a great space for my friends and I to meet up for a drink or two whenever we're in a singing mood. Maybe I've been lucky every time I've ventured to Lair's lounge, they're never as crowded as some of the other nearby karaoke lounges. They offer 2 wireless mics for public use. They used to have 2 mounted mics on the side of the main stage but I think those have since been broken and removed from the floor. On slower nights, you have the ability to directly operate the song machine and when it's a bit busier, they have someone manning the song selection. I can't say much about the song machine interface, it's kinda clunky and it'll take some time to get used to how to find singers & songs but hey, it's free. As far as the bar goes, I've mostly only interacted with the one lady bartender who is super nice and accommodating. I haven't seen any specials but a 32oz (almost 2.5 pint glasses worth) of Asahi is $15 if you wanna split with your friends. Shout out to the manager, Bill! What a cool dude, laidback and incredibly helpful - I've seen firsthand that he makes sure that everyone's having a good time and noone is being bothered by those who've had one too many drinks. Looking forward to another adventure in the Lair.

Yelp
Very fun karaoke bar! It was pretty empty on Christmas Eve. We got a standard room (70/hr). If you order 70$ worth of items, the room is free. Not difficult to do since everything is so inflated. 14 per shot and ~16 for a margarita. They have pretty good (and up to date) music choices. Overall a fun experience

Yelp
Possibly one of thee worst places to go for Karaoke, ever. First off, the service is horrible. I don't know if the two guys that work there are the owner's sons, rude, and lazy. The selection of music suck, the rooms are hot. I wouldn't never recommend anyone here , save yourself the money and headache.

Yelp
OMG so much fun! Had a cast party in one of their karaoke rooms for 15 people last night and had a great time. All of the rooms are beautiful and the system had most of the old and new songs we searched for. The staff took great care of us and were very friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Really fantastic basement space. They have a main lounge area, and multiple private rooms. I only sang in the lounge, but the private rooms looked less cramped than Yakitori Boy or Tango. The lounge is pretty well laid out, a bar close to the entrance, and a mix of booths and high top tables. At the other end from the bar, there's an actual stage. For a fun twist, in addition to wireless mics for the stage, there are some floor mounted mikes to the side if you want to give the stage over to dancing, or if you want to back up your friends. It was a quiet night, so they just let us put songs directly into the machine, which worked great at first, but became a bit chaotic as more people started doing it. The machine is somehow even clumsier than the ones I'm used to, and the English selection was weaker, but there's enough to get by. Drinks were expensive, especially the sparse beer selection, but we sang for free so it was kind of a wash. I didn't try any food while I was there, but it's attached to a serious looking restaurant, so I'd expect something decent.

Yelp
Not sure how many bad things I can say about this place. We had a private room. It was VERY hot in the room even with the air conditioner on full blast. We ordered "bottle service" they brought in a regular size bottle of liquor with plastic cups, 2 plastic pitchers of soda, and some limes. All that for the ridiculous $150 price tag. Complete and total ripoff. Everything was completely over priced, and only one of our mics was fully working. Also the bathroom door in the room didn't lock, the fan inside the room was filthy and didn't work. With all the money this place is stealing from its customers, it surely needs to upgrade. Or at least provide true bottle service. That was terrible.

Yelp
First of all, this review is the just for the lower level public karaoke area. Please also know that karaoke is one of my, if not, my most favorite activity, so I am more critical than a lot of people. I've been here approximately 5 times with meetup.com events and just with friends. Let me explain the good and the bad, starting with the bad first, because that's how I roll. Bad: -Karaoke Jockeys (KJ) tend to never turn on the karaoke mode/no vocals. Why? My guess is that the manager or bartenders don't like to hear people sing. If that's the case, you may want to find a different job/location to work. The other excuse is that "it sounds bad," as in, the karaoke version doesn't sound as good as the original, well no duh, but no one goes to a karaoke bar to hear sing-alongs. So basically you'll never hear an actual person's voice, just their voice mixed with the original song. -Low mic volume, unless you know the tricks or have a REALLY loud voice, prepare to basically lip-sync to whatever song you're singing. -Greedy KJ, one KJ (not sure if she still works there), told me another guy gave her $20 after I gave her $3 tip to entice her to bump my song up. I should give this place a 1 star just based on that. However, there's another nice KJ who'll bump songs up for free if you just ask nicely (and if you're not just hogging the mic all night) -Drinks aren't that strong. On average, I get about 4 drinks when I'm here sometimes more, sometimes less, usually mixing things up, but I'm almost never tipsy, maybe I'm a alcoholic? Nahhh -No itemized drink receipt, would be nice to see what I ordered all night... -No Chinese songs allowed, even if there were only Chinese people in there. Spanish songs are fine though. I can kind of see why, but if I'm allowed to sing Spanish songs that no one understands, why can't I sing Chinese songs that no one understands? #racist? -No TV screen facing the stage for the singer, if they don't remember the lyrics, they have to look at the sides or behind them. -Dead on weekends, probably because of the things I mentioned above? Good: -Drink prices are reasonable (maybe?), I've never gotten a itemized receipt so I don't know how much any of my drinks are, but I feel the final total seems right every time. -"Big" dance floor for people to hop on stage and dance along -Speaker system is great -Bathrooms are relatively clean -Food available I honestly don't know why I'm giving this place a 3 stars especially since they are more of a sing-along bar than a karaoke bar. But since I don't have any other karaoke bars in Philly to compare it to yet, it'll remain a 3 star, for now...
