INCREDIBLE SPOT !! Snuggled into this block, spaghetti incident is the definition of a HIDDEN gem! The coziest atmosphere, lowkey street, you feel right at home. The owner works the front of house and is the kindest soul you’ll ever meet. He is so kind and accommodating, I can’t say nicer things about him. Now the atmosphere is exactly what you want in NYC. Snug, filled in, cozy. 10/10. The food is outstanding. Came for Valentines Day and had the best experience. Had a Cesar salad, mixed arancini, bolognese, spinachini, half liter of wine (insanely good deal), and the pana cotta. Food was just outstanding. Came out in the most perfect flow. Could not have been a better lowkey Valentine’s Day out. You did not feel rushed out of there, service was perfect. Everything on the menu was just delicious — the pana cotta was the best end to the night. I cannot wait to come back to this most special place. Cheers — what you have is so special!!

Spaghetti Incident delivered exactly what you want from a classic West Village Italian restaurant—warm, unfussy, and genuinely satisfying. My husband and I had dinner here and loved the intimate neighborhood vibe, friendly service, and authentic Italian comfort food that feels homemade rather than overproduced. The fresh pasta was the standout—perfectly cooked, generously portioned, and packed with flavor…with gluten free offerings and specialized sauces. Will go back!!

Wonderful experience here. The wait staff was really nice especially when I asked him to take “candid” photos of my friend and I wearing our Halloween cardstock cutout heads lol. The food was decent though it didn’t blow me away. Overall a great atmosphere and would dine here again!

Wow, this was delicious. The artichoke arancini was sooooo flavorful. I got a very basic spaghetti chitarra but was blown away -it and was so fresh, (with fresh pasta), perfectly sauced, and tasted divine. The homemade mozz/arugula salad was also delicious. I am so happy I tried this place. We went early, were not rushed at all and pleasantly surprised with how amazing everything was.

Wonderful service and delicious food! My friends and I split a couple different dishes since we couldn't make up our mind, and it did not disappoint! We made a reservation which I would recommend since it's pretty small inside.

After a frustrating experience elsewhere nearby on Valentine’s Day, we called The Spaghetti Incident to see if they had any availability. They were upfront that space was very limited, but kindly told us that if we came right away, they could hold a table. They took my name, and when we arrived a few minutes later, the place was packed, yet they had kept a table for us. On an already busy Saturday night that also happened to be Valentine’s Day, that gesture meant a lot. From there, everything was excellent. The service was warm, polite, and genuinely hospitable. The food was very good. The caprese salad was fresh and well balanced, and the porcini mushroom pasta was rich and comforting without feeling heavy. The tiramisu was a bit different than expected, less coffee-forward than usual, but still very enjoyable and nicely balanced. The only area with room for improvement was the espresso martini. It tasted more like watered-down coffee with a faint alcoholic finish, rather than a bold, well-integrated cocktail. With a stronger espresso base or better balance, it could easily match the quality of the rest of the menu. Overall, this was a great experience and exactly what you hope for from a neighborhood restaurant that clearly cares about its guests. On one of the busiest nights of the year, they turned a stressful situation into a really enjoyable evening, and as a small business, they absolutely earned this five-star review.

Spaghetti Incident is the definition of a hidden gem. If you blink while walking or driving by, it's likely that you'll miss it! However, it is NOT to be missed! Super small & intimate, rustic with the exposed brick walls. I make it a point to visit whenever I happen to find myself on the Lower East Side. I've had brunch & dinner here on separate occasions, and if you happen to get a seat by the window on a breezy spring day - it's really delightful. The pasta is made basically in front of you as they have an open area kitchen & your meal is super fresh. The burrata appetizer is wonderful, as is the flight of arancini & my go-to suggestion for your meal is Pesto di Cavolo Nero (Kale Pesto) but there really is no wrong choice on the menu - let your tastebuds be your guide! If possible, leave room for dessert & get the Budino al Caramello because it basically lives rent free in my head. Food is phenomenal, only to be outdone by their incredible & attentive staff. They were once a cash only establishment, but after a recent visit, I learned that they are no longer cash only!

Thrilled to be able to update my previous review from a 4 star review to a now 5 star review! We had the opportunity to visit Spaghetti Incident again a few weeks ago. Happy to find that everything is still spectacular and now, it is no longer cash only! Food is still phenomenal, only to be outdone by their incredible & attentive staff. I was so impressed by Spaghetti Incident! I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it. We were struggling to find a last minute dinner spot on Saturday. Many places in the area were all booked up and we saw an opening here, it ended up being such a delicious meal. The restaurant is cozy and dimly lit. Not a huge space, probably best for a date night or a small group of friends. Their menu is stacked with pasta dishes, and the waiter told us about some specials. Some options include fresh pasta, others a dry pasta, but all of that is detailed on the menu. To start, we shared their Arancini Mix. This was a fun app, we all had different favorites. For main, I ordered the Chitarra pasta which was a fresh tomato sauce with pieces of mozzarella. We also got the rigatoni salsiccia and the mushroom truffle pasta. Our table also ordered the special pasta of the night which had pancetta in a cream sauce. All the food was really delicious. It tasted so authentic and fresh. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place! It's a very good option in the area.

4 stars is just about right. I remember it tasting like 5 stars years ago. I'm mostly giving them kudos for homemade pasta and homemade taste. Food was all missing some flavor.

Cozy dining room and friendly staff. The wait staff was super helpful and as usual we went in without a reservation and they graciously gave us a table immediately. Started the meal with a mix Arancini, all three were flavorful and crunchy as anticipated, lasagna and ragu bolognese for our main course and ended the meal with a chocolate cake. Nothing to be blown away by but overall a good meal.

Went here on a quiet tuesday night. We were the only table. The server was good and attentive. The food came out quick and delicious. Would definitely come here again and recommend this place. Ambiance is nice and quaint. Definitely a small place.

Celebrated a friend's birthday party here and it was perfect! There were 5 of us, and we had a little corner towards the front, but didn't feel the cold from outside at all, so I feel like anywhere you sit you'll be fine! We shared a mix of the 3 types of arancini ($17): - beef ragu & fontina - artichoke & parm - pesto & Gorgonzola At first, I thought the beef ragu & fontina would be my favorite (meat lover!), but I actually was really impressed by the artichoke and parm! All 3 are good, so the mix is my rec! One of the pasta specials was a good ol' squid ink pasta with either shrimp & other seafood or crab meat ($27). I love a good mix (can you not tell from my arancini choice, lol!), so I went with the shrimp and other seafood option and it was so good! Everyone's dishes were good, and I would definitely come again! The portions are deceivingly filling, so if you are getting your own plate, be prepared!

I went here for a lovely dinner with three classy ladies. It was an evening filled with fresh handmade pasta, sinfully creamy tiramisu, and a year's worth of catching up amongst friends At first, I was thrown off by the name spaghetti incident. I didn't know what to expect - would it be touristy? Would it be kitschy? It was none of those things. Instead, I was greeted with a warm, intimate setting and authenticity. The food was prepared with such care, was perfectly portioned, and tasted unbelievably fresh. The creative but classic dishes hit the spot and can satisfy the deepest of pasta cravings.

Nice little pasta spot down in the LES. Service wasn't the best but we were seated outside so not sure if it's better inside! Not my favorite pasta spot, but definitely a good option in the area

4.5 stars! Very accommodating and friendly staff for my birthday party with 16 friends. We all got different orders and drink and we brought a cake. Everyone loved the staff and food was nice.

Love the cozy interior, and great service from the staff. They provided a candle for my cousin's birthday lasagna!! Fantastic menu selection including changing specials. I went with a big group and everyone was satisfied. I personally ordered the bucatini pasticiatti and loved it!

came on Thursday after drinks nearby. the interior is so cute and vintage, and the name is GREAT! we got the aranchini to split for the table which was perfect since everyone had half to taste. they came out warm and flavorful - i tried the beef one which was so juicy yet flavorful. aranchini is seriously something you cant hate!!! kale pesto: this is VERY strong to keep in mind. i added a ton of red pepper flakes and parmesian and lemon to make it a bit less grass flavors and loved it when i made my mix. its actually a very good dish and would recommend but be mindful you gotta love salad and the taste of "leaves" hahaha portions are HUGE so i am excited to have my leftovers days later. but seriously super worth the price and everyone was happy w their food - would totally recommend!

One of my absolute favorite hidden gems in the Lower East Side. This cozy Italian spot offers a small but thoughtfully curated menu--mainly pastas, a few fresh salads, and mouthwatering appetizers. Their house wine selection is fantastic, with a small but solid range of reds, whites, and Prosecco. And great news: they now have a full liquor license! I wrapped up dinner with an espresso martini, and it was perfect. Loveliest, most attentive service.

As someone with several food allergies, i am always expecting to find very little options available to me, but that was not the case here. The waiter told us that everything is made from scratch and helped me find the best option for me. The chicken cutlet was fantastic, thin and crispy, and the arugula on top was fresh and light. My friends got pasta dishes that all looked amazing. I would recommend this restaurant! Make sure to make a res, cause it gets busy and is a total hole in the wall.

Even before the pandemic, chef/owner Emanuele Attala came up with the brilliant idea of selling spaghetti takeout in a cone. I bet that saved his business during COVID. However, Jamie W. and I came here to eat like regular customers squeezed into a table between sets of boisterous diners. Yeah, it was definitely a young crowd here...they didn't know what burrata was. Named after a nineties Guns n Roses album, this spot was seriously a spaghetti house like back in the day when every remotely Italian celebrity was opening one, but cloaked in the chill vibe of the Lower East Side off Houston with all the cool murals. The menu was simple...a handful of appetizers and salads, arancini, and a dozen pasta dishes, almost all spaghetti. We started with the $16 Burrata, a nice bulbous portion surrounded by arugula, sliced celery, and cherry tomatoes and drizzled with their housemade green Sicilian dressing (photo: https://yelp.to/wbq40zkma3). Fresh and simple, it worked as a starter. Jamie went for what I assume is their signature dish, the $24 Spaghetti & Polpette (Meatballs). His verdict? I came here for a friend's birthday- we had a large group so it was good that they can accommodate us! Although I will say the way the layout is, if you sit on the booth side, it's really hard to get out with a large group lol. As for food, it was decent. I know they do the spaghetti take out in a cone, and the quality of food seemed fitting for the take out aspect, but as for sit down I felt like quality was maybe lacking a bit. It was *bad*, but I got the lasagna and the noodle part was a bit thick and overcooked, in my opinion. The texture was almost reminiscent of chef boyardee beef ravioli, which I do enjoy from time to time, but not for a $25 pasta dish at a restaurant, if you know what I mean. We did also get a tiramisu for dessert, and that was actually quite delicious! In any case, we had a good time, the service was good. Not sure if I'd come for sit down, but maybe the spaghetti in a cone would be a unique bucket list item to check off if I'm in the area.

The food, service, and ambiance is excellent at this little hole in the wall. Our server seemed delighted that we liked our food; you can tell they really care about the meal and the experience. We had the arancini mix (all good), the Caesar salad, and the carbonara. It was delicious. The vibe is cozy and warm, perfect for catching up with a friend or for a date night.

Came with a friend for a casual dinner. We were seated and served quickly, the chitarra was al dente and tasty, and the place itself was cute. As a vegetarian, there were a number of options on the menu for me, and overall no complaints!

Decent pasta and speedy service. My only complaint is that they forgot our appetizer but other than that this is a nice, no frills pasta spot. The food is well priced and there weren't too many people there on the Saturday night that I went.

We came in here to find fresh pasta and fresh pasta was served! This is a cute little casual and cozy spot to go to on the cheaper end of the "fresh pasta" restaurants of New York. Some of them they do by hand and some of them not- I got the bucatini special that included nuts and had a lighter carbonara sauce that was recommended by the server. They made that one fresh but for some reason they used another type for the main entree. My party got the spinach fettuccine. Both were so good we gobbled it up. The tiramisu was lacking in depth but I thought it was a good balance from the heavy pasta we had. (It's a lighter cake version)

My thing with Italian places is, it's hard to sell me on a bowl of pasta because half the time, it tastes like boxed pasta that you can buy from the store and use a canned sauce and it's not too far off with a much better price tag. This is one of the exceptions! ARANCINI For those unfamiliar, an arancini is a ball of yellow risotto mixed +/- meat mixed in, with an obligatory melty cheese core deep fried. The crunchy exterior has a nice browning that easily gives way for a tender interior and for melty, gooey cheese to just melt out like lava. They do a great job with it here and I can't wait to have it again. RIGATONI SALSICCIA E BROCCOLI This was my favorite for sure; the tender, chewy and al-dente pasta really tastes like it's homemade and makes it worth shelling out the extra bucks for dining out pasta. Tender, crunchy broccoli rabe with a nice flavor of sausage that permeates the dish and the epitome of what I look for with pasta texture. What can go wrong? I wish we ordered two of these. RAGU BOLOGNESE A classic that can go no wrong; the pasta texture again is on the mark although I will urge you to try something out of the norm so that they can showcase their expertise in making a great bowl of pasta. It's hard to mess up a meat sauce so let them take on a bigger challenge and show you what they can do!

Made a reservation here online and it was super easy to get, the service was also spectacular. We tried all 3 of the arancinis, we liked the pesto the best, but the other two were also good. The artichoke one was definitely subtle which was great. My truffle mushroom pasta was good but we replaced the pancetta for capers in the carbonara and we didn't really enjoy it as much. It felt really chunky cheesy.

One of my favorite pasta restaurants in the city! I always order the Kale Pesto ($21) and it's different than any other normal pesto you have tried. It is a bit more bitter than regular pesto, but just as tasty. The pasta is always fresh and is always cooked al dente, although I wish they gave a little bit more portion wise. I've been coming here for a while now and while they used to be cash only, they now *drumroll* accept credit cards!! Will always be back to this spot for their unique kale pesto!

This eatery would be an adorable choice for a date night. They offer a variety of delicious pastas, and I found the desserts particularly delightful. While the appetizers are decent and the main courses are good, the overall ambiance makes it a charming spot in the city. Service is good.

This was definitely a spaghetti incident, not sure a good one though. I came here specifically to try bucatini Amatriciana and was disappointed. First, there's not many non-alcoholic drink options. Choices are slim between soda and sparkling water. And wine comes in a beat up glass like in a cafeteria. The pasta is what you'd expect to come in a paper cone, so as a to-go place I'm sure it works. But it's a shame to serve that in a plate at a very charming sit down restaurant. All my stars go to the ambiance of the location. The bucatini made me sad. The sauce was average with a strong pork taste from the pancetta. If the meat was fresher I'm sure the sauce would've been better. The pasta itself was on a verge of being overcooked. Thankfully it was a small portion.

My husband and I ate here as a last minute dinner out. We called at 7:30 and were able to get an 8:30 reservation, waiting about 10 minutes once we got there which wasn't bad for a Saturday night. The staff was very polite, helpful, and attentive. We never were left without water for more than a minute. The ambiance was really nice too: calm with low lighting and pleasant decor (exposed brick, greenery, etc), and they offer some complimentary bread and oil. In general, the restaurant is a lower cost Italian restaurant in NYC. Point in case, the menu is on a paper placemat. Normally you wouldn't expect a lot from a restaurant like this, but the food was exceptional for the cost in NYC. At first I was thinking of rating a 4 because of a couple small things (small wine menu, no offer of more bread, the caper flavor was a bit drowned out by the cream sauce in my salmon dish), but in the end I gave a 5 for my reason above: exceptional food for the cost in NYC. My husband started with a casear that was tasty. The greens were light and crisp; the dressing flavorful. I Decided to try one of each of the appetizer rice balls. They came with a side of red sauce that was really good. I was in love with all three and couldn't pick a favorite! I kept taking a bite or two, going on to the next, saying it was the best, moving on and saying THAT one was the best...over and over until they were finished! My husband's spaghetti had hunks of delicious fresh mozz, and mine was a wonderful combination of salmon, capers, asparagus, and cream - yum yum yum! All good flavors, and the pasta was wonderfully done - perfectly al dente! Unfortunately, I ate everything and was too full for dessert! Wrap up: if you're looking for good Italian in NYC that won't break the bank this is your place!

Spaghetti Incident is a super decent little hole in the wall. I ordered a sausage and broccoli rabe for a late quick dinner and the service was attentive and quick. The pasta was fresh and perfectly Al dente. The one thing I will say is that for the price point, you can definitely find some better places out there, but I enjoyed my experience and I would definitely come back!

This is a cute smallish Italian place in the lower east side that seems super authentic. The inside is intimate but also not too loud. I came with a big group for a friend's birthday and we had tried to make a reservation but somehow it didn't work. They were kind enough to seat us anyways though which was pretty cool of them. For apps we got the burrata. It was good but it wasn't anything special, mostly just cause the inside wasn't melt in your mouth creamy, it was more cottage cheesy. The pastas were good and the one sausage, brocolli, and white wine sauce was excellent. The sauce was delicious, the brocolli was perfectly charred and the sausage had that yummy fennel-y flavor that I love. We also got a truffle-y which was yummy but very very truffly and a sage ricotta ricotta gnocchi which had good flavor but the gnocchi were mushier than I'd have liked. We shared a few tiramisús for dessert which were excellent. Often they are too soggy but these were perfect.

This is an awesome, hidden little spot on a side street in the Lower East Side - even as we were looking for it we walked right past it! The staff here are very welcoming and helped us get seated right away and started us off with delicious, fresh baked bread with olive oil. The pasta carbonara here was delicious, rich and creamy.

The service was nice and the ambience was cute but the food just was not it. I had the pasta with Gorgonzola sauce. The flavor was just too intense.

I had the spaghetti chitarra here. It tasted alright , but the garlic in the sauce was a bit heavier than I would have liked. It was also a bit more expensive than I would have liked.

I had a lovely time here with my best friend when I came to town to visit. Service was incredibly prompt (both the host + waiter) throughout every step of the meal, food was absolutely delicious. Also, large portions. I was super pleased. I had the Ragu Bolognese, which I highly recommend.

It was request by the teen we were with to have Italian so after a stroll through the museum we ended up here. They had outdoor seating. A nice specials menu and paper menus on the table. They truly did their best to keep as distances as possible while waiting on us. I had the crab rice ball and we all shared the caprese salad. The rice ball was okay it was a little fishy. The salad was nice and fresh. My companions had the salmon and spaghetti in a white sauce and traditional spaghetti and meat balls. Both express that their food was good and full of flavor. We asked if we should have the chocolate cake or tiramisu we were told the chocolate cake. It was nice but I was not expecting a flourless chocolate cake so I was a little disappointed but I was able to appreciate it for what it was. Overall it was a nice experience it was about 100 bill for 3 ppl 2 apps , 2 entrees , 3 desserts and 4 sodas (pay per bottle)

Want to explore NY while eating delicious pasta?! Well you have found the right place! Spaghetti Incident let's you walk around and enjoy delicious and warm pastas on the move! A meal that is convenient, tasty, and makes you active?? Can't get better than that! This place has two stores, but same chefs. One side for the pastas in the cones and the other side a sit down restaurant. We went during a break time they had at one of the stores. We then went into the restaurant and asked if we can order the pasta in the cone. They were super nice and willing to put the pasta in the cone for us!! Carbonara: This was my favorite pasta! It is different than other carbonara pastas I had before because it had a stronger egg taste, which I really liked! The pasta was the perfect texture and it was warm even at the last bite! Salsiccia e Broccoli: The broccoli made this pasta very refreshing to eat! The sauce was light and lots of sausage. Very well seasoned! They were very busy and the waiter still went out of his way to get us the pastas in the cones so that we can get the experience. He even gave us a complimentary coke to thank us for waiting! Amazing customer service!!! I will definitely recommend coming here for the mouthwatering pastas and concept!

This a small shop in a quieter part of the neighborhood. They actually have two shops, one for sit down and one for to-go. However, when I arrived, the to-go restaurant was closed. We ended up going to the sit down side and asked them if they could make us a few cones to go, and they gladly served us :) The service took a bit longer than the waiter's estimate, but he felt bad and gave us a glass bottle of Coke. We ended up walking the streets of New York with our cone in one hand and a fork in another.

This was my first time dining in the restaurant as I have ordered this for delivery a few times. We both ordered the carbonara and loved that it came out hot and fresh, though it was a bit too salty which was a little startling. We still enjoyed the meal but wish we got a bolognese or lasagna to counter the saltiness. The Cabernet wine was delicious and service was so friendly and excellent! Very cozy and warm vibes inside.

The food was only okay, they have also insured there prices and have a 3,7% service fee which i don't understand like why not just increase the prices even more.

We really, really wanted to love this place, but we left wanting more. The best part were all the different arancini. The meatballs were kind of bland. The ragu was sub par compared to Ruby's Cafe that we had for lunch. Overall we just felt meh.

Fresh authentic pasta that is worth trying! I've had a lot of lasagna in my life, and this place knocks it out of the ball park. The Kale Pesto pasta dish had an earthy taste to it and was just okay. Tiramisu was yummy to finish the evening with!

Ordered takeout from here the other day. It took so long and it didn't let me track my order which was frustrating. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and the Parmesan artichoke arancini. The carbonara was alright. It was like was too saucy... which I never say! That mean something. A bit too overpowering. The arancici was alright as well. It came with a yummy red sauce. They have a lot of options so not a bad place to try out.

Have to have spaghetti and meatballs in a place called Spaghetti Incident. Someone from SF gave a mediocre review saying the Spaghetti and Meatballs was bland? I can only read that as what an opinion raised on American cooking. The Spaghetti and Meatballs I had there was really good....very close to what you would have on a Sunday at my grandmother's house, or any home of my friends in the Italian neighborhood I grew up in (1960s). That style dish is supposed to be mellow and rich. Very satisfying...they got the meatballs right too. You never see that in American restaurants. So to SI, I say well done! Great service also.

Best pasta around! Had a brief mistake with my delivery order and they made it right immediately. Pasta was perfectly done and kept its quality even through delivery. Highly recommend this place.

I might just be a sucker for a cute concept but I really liked this place! I honestly think all food should be served in cones now LOL. They have a grab and go pasta shop where you can get the spaghetti in a cone or you can go next door to their actual restaurant for more traditional dining. The pasta shop has holes in their tables for you to put your cone in which I greatly appreciated. I got the classic chitarra pasta for $14. They really fill the cone up so you get a lot. Plus a slice of bread to dunk in your sauce. The pasta had huge chunks of fresh mozzarella and they were very generous with it. You could really taste the tomatoes and the basil in the sauce. My bf got the lamb ragu pasta for $16 and he demolished that thing. They don't skimp on the meat and the flavors are strong. Would definitely recommend trying out all their pastas!
