Unassuming, old-school carry-out joint serving up a menu of jumbo patties & handmade fries.
"Considering it makes up half of the restaurant's name, it’s safe to say that the daiquiris at Sparkle’s Burgers And Daiquiris in Third Ward are nothing to mess around with. Served the way they’re supposed to be (in a novelty glass and loaded with rum), you have the choice of the fruit punch-flavored Southside vs. the blue raspberry-flavored Northside. While we’ll remain neutral about which side of Houston is better, in our opinion the Northside daiquiri is a little bit sweeter and the one to order." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene
"Open Until: Midnight Mon-Thurs, 2am Fri-Sun Sparkle’s in the Third Ward is the sort of understated counter-service spot you can always count on, especially when you want to end your night with a mammoth burger and fries. Customers regularly lean on the counter and shoot the breeze with the cashier, while they wait for a massive fried fish sandwich or a cheeseburger with extra onion rings.T he space is pretty small, so unless you eat at one of three available tables inside, you’ll probably be standing just outside of their doors, unhinging your jaw for another bite of the meaty double cheeseburger." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene
"Sparkle’s is the sort of understated counter-service spot you can always count on, whether you pop in during the day for a BLT breakfast sandwich, or when you want to end your night with a mammoth burger and fries. Customers regularly lean on the counter and shoot the breeze with the cashier, while they wait for a massive fried fish sandwich or a cheeseburger with extra onion rings. There are a couple of options for frozen daiquiris: Northside or Southside, but the only real choice is whether you want your tongue stained bright blue or red. The space is pretty small, so unless you eat at one of three available tables inside, you’ll probably be standing just outside of their doors, unhinging your jaw for another bite of the meaty double cheeseburger." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas
"Sparkle’s, a modest counter service joint in the Third Ward, is the sort of place you could pop into any time for a burger, which ranges from a simple, dressed down hamburger to a double mushroom cheeseburger piled high with toppings. The space is pretty small, so unless you eat at one of three tables inside, you’ll probably be parked on the picnic benches just outside of the doors, unhinging your jaw for another bite of the meaty double cheeseburger topped with a slab of hickory bacon." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene
"Juicy, hefty burgers are made to order at this old-school take-out spot off Emancipation Avenue. Sparkle’s patties are extra thick and can come topped with condiments and toppings like chili, guacamole, hickory bacon, jalapeños. The restaurant also serves other dishes like hot dogs and pork chop sandwiches, but the decadent burgers are the star of the show." - Kayla Stewart
