Google
Great SF brewery! Good choice of beers to suit all tastes. Outdoor seating area is planned and spaced out well and the choice of food when we visited was pretty varied from a Mexican food truck, shrimp, donuts and ice cream. It was also great to see local causes and local artisan sellers being given a space to sell their goods. But essentially we came for the beer and this did not disappoint! Look forward to the day when we can sit inside what looks to be a very cool bar inside. We had the parrot hill and the black lager, both well kept and delicious! Would recommend this place, worth the visit!

Google
Just stopped by, they only have four beers on tap, all sours. No cans of beers. It sounds like they switched owners. Might be better in a couple weeks

Google
Nice tasting room with awesome decor and plenty of space to spread out and drink. A good variety of beers, including some heavy IPA’s, good stouts, and some malty options as well.

Google
Speakeasy is an amazing gem in SF. Friendly staff, delicious libations, and a place full of character. Loving all the design elements and on site brewing equipment.

Google
Great local SF brewery. Nice tap room and frequent outdoor events. Always a good time.

Great taproom experience! Friendly and welcoming with a local neighborhood pub feel. Solid Hazy Ipa

Google
Funny comedy show on Friday 7pm. Best hard kombuchas I’ve ever tasted on tap, wow. Chill spot in a rough neighborhood. Park on the property if you can.

Google
Great beer and a great place to hang out for an afternoon. The staff is very friendly and it's easy to strike up a conversation with the other patrons.

Yelp
Off the path brewery that offers a variety of beers on tap. It's a great spot for a super low key evening as there is standup comedy outside when the weather is warmer or in the distillery on select nights. I've been to both spaces and it's fun, depending on the luck of the draw of comedians. The bar area can get hot and stuffy pretty fast when there's a lot of people. Note the distillery for standup is quiet and energy can be low in the evenings since there are only string lights and no music. One comedian described it as "a group gathering in the dark waiting for a vigil to a tragedy" LOL

Yelp
The place is closed now... speakeasy beer has not been made in SF for quite some time... a shame they continue to present it as such...

Yelp
This used to be the most happening brewery in San Francisco. They had beer fests, food vendors and anniversary parties. They were bought out a few years ago, then bought again with nothing coming of it. It's sad that this place is dead.

Yelp
I heard about this brewery was hosting a vegan food event (Veguary) so I had to make the trek to see what it's all about. There's easy street parking in the area which makes a visit less stressful. This is a black owned brewery, making traditional brews. Staff are easy going and committed to the beer. The space inside is relaxing with nooks to grab a drink and chill. My eyes landed on a few board games too. It's a great place to support in addition to all the fun social events! I wish I lived closer. I tried Big Daddy IPA. A crisp and light IPA that was enjoyable for me as I'm not a fan of IPA's. The Sadie Stout was thick and heavy in the best ways. I also had the larger which was one of the lighter options on the menu. It was my favorite. Back to the food! It turns out these events happen at least monthly. It was so great to see so many vendors together. It really made me giddy (maybe it was my third beer). Alma y Sazon tacos were loaded with tasty ingredients. I will be back to try their Jamaica tacos! Sadly they ran out of these tasty bites. Chef Reina was dishing out ribs and omg they were heavenly! How the heck, chef! I'm so glad I got to try it. This was one of the vendors that made me get out of pajamas on a rainy day. A Violet Fashion had incredible dresses, shirts, and skirts. I walked away with a couple of unique and one of a kind items. Plant n Soul was slinging pizzas but ran out of the po' boys that I wanted to try. Next time! Raised Roots was selling delicious fermented hot sauces and produce. The hot sauces are passion in a bottle. You can taste the love or at least the heat. I grabbed an incredible brownie but I don't remember who made it. Seriously, I gobbled it up. Go support these incredible vendors and the brewery! It's worth your time and money.

Yelp
Tried their flight which was very good. The Prohibition Ale is their best. Always sunny in this part of The City so sitting and sipping outside was a very pleasant experience. Never seen it very crowded so there are always tables inside and plenty of beers to choose from.

Yelp
I went to this brewery in SF because they had a Latin America food festival. I was worried about getting parking so got there early. The weather was prefect. The had some picnic tables set up under a canopy. There were about 10 or more food trucks and a DJ playing music. Although they are a brewery I didn't sample any of the beer. I would have liked to sample all the food because it all looked so good. There were trucks with Cuban, Mexican, El Salvadoran, Mayan Puerto rican Nicaragua, Peru, Haiti, Venezuela, foods. So many to choose from. It was a nice small event. Everybody was friendly, and it was dog, friendly, and best of all it was free. The food wasn't free, of course but the event was.

Yelp
My husband and I were beer hopping on Saturday and randomly found this place. It was pretty slow when we went there. The beer was good the bartender was very kind to help us choosing a good beer. The place it self is not big but it seemed like they do lots of stuffs on the outside. They had list of events on the wall but the day we went had no event. We were very hoping to have some snacks with the beer but they had zero snack. So we had to finish our beer and move on to the next one. I would try this place again with an event.

Mike K.

Yelp
Not sure what happened to this place. It used to be great, and now it is only open at random times and has limited to no selection of beer. I stopped by on a sunny Sunday afternoon with a group of people and was informed by the bartender/manager that they were, "out of beer," before we made it across the parking lot. Hopefully they can hire some new staff and attract people to the taproom once again.

Yelp
I have respect for Vegetarians as much as I can never be one. God created those wonderful animals to be eaten! Decided to try some vegan donuts and to my surprise, it tasted really good and not gross! Vandor is a San Francisco native who used to work at a doughnut shop while attending Galileo high school. Pandemic helped him find his niche. The donuts are delicious and great flavored. Baked and not fried. Soft and chewy inside. Reasonably priced about $2.25 per donut. I ordered the: -horchata- gentle flavor -chocolate glazed- not too sweet -cinnamon sugar- right balance of cinnamon -lemon glaze- if you like flavor, get this! - Thai tea- my favorite! - matcha glaze- gentle flavors of match powder - Please show him some love and support. It's currently a pop-up and you can order through ig @whackdonuts

Yelp
Great deal on Thursdays! $5 beer and delicious food from vendor Mezcla! Truly noteworthy burger and last week's yucca fries were tasty!

Yelp
This is one of the older breweries in the City and they have a solid reputation for great craft beer. The staff here is always welcoming and great. They started a weekend pop-up and market with some great vendors including vegan donuts by @whackdonuts and awesome food by @el_chino_grande. Big fan of a lot of the Speakeasy hazy beers and definitely a big fan of Chef Chris Yang. Come check them out. Ample parking and social distancing protocols are observed.

Yelp
What a charming place! I found out about this bar bc they host bachata dancing on Thurs. It feels small but cozy inside, with 2 private rooms for a more intimate setting. I saw stairs going up as well but I didn't get to see if there's more seating up there. The decor is very spirited and on theme. I assume it's a prop but I also noticed a button on the wall that said something like "press this during a raid". I know I shouldn't press strange buttons but I really wanted to!! Service is attentive and friendly. I attended two bachata events at this bar and the first time I left my water bottle. I messaged the owner Ahmad and he was so nice to hold it for me until I came back! Thanks Ahmad! Parking is free and easy within their parking lot or on the street. Just remember to check those sweep signs!!

Barbara S.

Yelp
A friend of my & I had the sampler four shot glasses of beer it's was good. I would recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Beer is exquisite. Ahmad is very knowledgeable and enjoyable to talk to. The ambiance is relaxed and warm. Easy parking and outdoor seating. Great events. Check them out.

Yelp
Don't come here. We came for their Oktoberfest event. One food truck and 1.5 bartenders. Average wait time for a beer is 25 mins to order. After waiting, they mentioned QR code pickup is outside. Trash ! They tell us pickup is outside where the barrel is but holy shit, no one is here and 30 mins and waiting. Horrible service and rude ass bartenders. Fu** this place

Yelp
I'm not a beer drinker at all but this was ok I probably wojld stick to champagne but if beer is your thing you'll love it

Yelp
I enjoy the craft drinks and dark old rustic vibe A nice place to bring a date or time with friends on a Friday to Saturday night.

Yelp
These folks have an awesome outdoor set-up for the covid times. I couldn't tell you if the parking lot converted to a picnic table beer garden was a new addition, but it is pretty sweet. It should stay. As for the experience, we ordered at the door (typical) but there were two people you had to interact with as you ordered. This part was a bit odd and could probably be improved upon. One took your beer order (duh) and the other took your food order.. yeah, you HAVE to order food. There's two of us, can we just order one thing? No, you each have to order something. We looked this up and there was a recent CA state law passed mandating beer drinkers order food, but the Speakeasy employees were mistaken in saying we each had to order something. The law is written so that only one order of food per group is necessary (thought being that it helps tether people to their table, linger less, spread the plague less. Fair enough.). But okay, sure. Let's get food. Surely they have a little snack available for the not-so-hungry. Negative. The cheapest option was a $10 Scallion Pancake Roll. Two of those please! Somehow 2 x $10 came to $29 and change. Sometimes I don't understand a single thing about this city. I'm a tad bit sheltered so I had zero clue what to expect with the SPR, but goddamn was it good. I was only slightly salty about a forced hand into a $30 meal but that was almost entirely negated by how good the food was. For beer (is he really just getting to the beer part of a brewery review in the 5th paragraph? Answer: yes. You're still reading for some reas.) I started with the Hefe and hooollly it was delicious. So delicious that I went back to it for round 2. Tbh, I'll probably wait til the pandemic (eventually) ends or at least the food rules are tossed out before I go back. I go to breweries for the beer, which they crushed. But I don't like being legally obligated to double my bill with a purchase of food. Until next time.

Yelp
The beer may be good but unfortunately the location isn't welcoming. I get it, they want to have a speakeasy vibe but the space is small and dark and like a dungeon. And the line to get into the bathroom can get very long during an event so that makes you not want to drink. I wish they would innovate and redesign their tasting room, it really could make a huge difference. I've been to a few events there when they have food trucks but unfortunately the small bar area, long lines and 1 bathroom deters me from going to any future events.

Yelp
Good service. Outdoor seating. Food truck. Easy parking. Close to Heron's Head Park. Dog friendly. Great beer.
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
This is a great place with outside tables in the sunshine if you want them and lots of parking extra events too.
google avatar

Kelvin Y.

Yelp
People here don't practice social distancing at all. For example, I grabbed one of the picnic tables and then there were 2 guys who just sat down and decided to share the table. They did not wear a mask and the table was not big enough to keep a 6 feet distance. I ended up giving up the table. Once I found another table, a couple asked if it was ok to share. Do people know COVID is still a problem in the country!? I wouldn't come here until a vaccine.
google avatar

Yelp
What a find! Once you step into the door, the ambiance hits you and boy does it feel good. Seriously this is the coolest place to grab a beer or two with the homies. There is a great selection of brews to enjoy. It is nice when there is something for everyone. I really enjoyed the refreshing Hunters Point Pale Ale. Did I mention there are other libations to enjoy, such as classic bottled Coca-Cola? Well there are. Plus, a bag of chips or a pretzel can be snacked on while chillin' and enjoying a refreshment. It is really cool that events can be hosted here. The events are posted up at the bar. Some events involve food.

Yelp
We have been here several times and it's always tough to leave. Love their set up, their pourers and the changing seasonal offerings. My favorite is getting a sampler and then finish with Double Daddy. Be sure to eat before you come because that will certainly give you a good buzz. M-F happy hour and Firkin Friday is on point. Haven't made it here on the weekend but they offer tours and other events.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was awesome. The people here were super cool. They had outdoor seating, covered and non covered. On the particular day I went they had a vegan food truck which had a line the entire time. This truck seemed to be super popular. They also had Rome's Kitchen which served burgers, links, Philly cheesesteak (pictured), and grilled oysters (pictured). The food pictured was delicious. The atmosphere was really cool, almost like a backyard bbq. And the beers were really good. They had some IPAs, lagers, and ales.

Yelp
I was looking for some craft breweries to try out - and found a few that were not far away from my hotel by SFO. I visited Speakeasy on a Thursday night - it's a small place inside, not a lot of seating, and there was a good number of folks on hand enjoying their brews. I ordered a tasting flight of four brews: Tallulah Extra Pale Ale (5.6% ABV) Vendetta IPA (7.6% ABV) Double Daddy Blood Orange Imperial IPA (8.5% ABV) California Love Imperial Red Ale (7.9% ABV) I very much enjoyed the first three ales. The Imperial Red was kind of bland compared to the first three Ales. It's also possible that my taste buds were wrecked after the first three ales and I could not parse out the flavors... The Double Daddy was super skunky - and I mean that in only the best possible way. It was my favorite of the four, followed by the Vendetta and then the Tallulah... If you plan to pay via credit card - I believe the minimum is more than $10.00. Cool little craft brewery! I'd visit here again!
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this place. The folks pouring were friendly. Lots of tasting rooms have "beer slingers" who are robotic and want the transaction over ASAP even when it's not crowded. The beer selection was fantastic. They had an underwhelming food vendor who was nice but the sliders were a little disappointing. Loved the layout of the tasting room with a couple of side rooms that were very cool and apparently reservable. What a great time that would be for a group of 12 or so! I know the Speakeasy Big Daddy IPA is their big product but I did find the speakeasy prohibition theme a little tired. As Hunter's Point is on the rise, I'd change the name of this place to Hunter's Point Brewing in a nanosecond. Call the BD "Speakeasy Big Daddy IPA" but brand it Hunter's Point. People want a brewery tied to place rather than a weird history lesson. But that's just me. Anyway, definitely check this place out.

Yelp
I guess I am lucky that the Speakeasy Ales & Lagers is not within one mile from my home... because if it was, I would be here every other day sipping on delicious crafts and obtaining the beer belly, which definitely doesn't help the case for my nonexistent new years resolutions. As I am a sucker for stouts, I just HAD to come when they hosted the Yelp event here last month. I really liked the vibe, and loved the cat that lurked around here. I believe I tried everything on their beer selection, and I have to say my favorites were Syndicate, Scarface and Black Hand (chocolate milk stout)... obviously, biased because I like strong stouts. My friend's favorite was the BBA (barrel aged) Scarface because she likes the strong taste. The staff here was so nice and accommodating. I will definitely be back, if I find someone who is willing to make the trip with me here. Recommended? Yesss, don't come with a big-ass group though. I think 2-4 is a good number.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't make the trip out here. There are far better options for breweries. We went last night for their "Oktoberfest" night with comedy show. They charged $15 for tickets which I thought was reasonable.. until I got there. Online the description and pictures show something entirely different than what the event actually was. Its a joke that they call it Oktoberfest. They must have sold at least 200 tickets for a TINY bar and a falling apart tent outside in the freezing wind with a few picnic tables. People were standing under the "tent" clutching their beers and food waiting for the comedy show to start. I feel if you can't even offer enough seats how can you charge people for tickets to get in? 1 food truck which was good but they were overwhelmed with the crowd. The line to get beer was ridiculous, starting inside and going all the way outside. Took around 30 min to get a beer. I've never had an experience like this at any brewery anywhere. Beer choices were super limited and they ended up running out of the good ones. Their beer is mediocre at best. With all the choices we have for breweries in the bay, I would definitely skip this place. Not worth it!!
google avatar

Yelp
They just started doing beer tours again at Speakeasy Ales & Lagers so while in SF, we went. It's all the way out in Hunter's Point but the tour is less than $8 and you get 2 tasters of beer while you're there. You also have the option of sitting at the bar and ordering beers as well. We rode the MUNI out to Hunter's Point from Union Square. It's about 45 minutes by bus so if you have alternate transportation, take that. We were dropped outside the building and walked up. For a Saturday afternoon, the place was still empty but I imagine that's because it's in the middle of nowhere. They have corn hole out in the parking lot if you're so inclined, and the tasting room and bar area is dimly decorated. I tried a pumpkin ale for both of my tasters, and one was actually served out of a giant pumpkin! It was okay for beer but again, I'm not much of a beer drinker. There were a few people at the bar when we arrived and some of them went on the tour with us. It wasn't my first brewery tour but it was cool to see and hear about their process. Our tour guide admitted that it was his first day giving tours but welcomed any questions we might have. Our tour group had a few questions but we were fine just listening. We didn't stay long because we wanted to be back in Union Square to go back to Mikkeller and finish out our stay in SF.

Yelp
I've been going to Speakeasy since 1999 and for a long time it was my Cheers (everybody really did know my name). I bought their beers in stores and at bars across town. I can't say enough about how it was part of my life and my belly. But then the old management was ousted like Steve Jobs and things started to change. The prohibition era design was dropped (I assume the original designer was loyal to the old guard), and now everything looks like energy drinks. No mojo. I don't even like holding the cans let alone the taste. I feel like the remaining Speakeasy beers, Prohibition, Big Daddy, etc. don't even taste the same. The wrapped sticker labels looks trashy and is not nice to touch. It's a bummer to even hold one of the original beers now. The vibe at the brewery is different now too. The classic punk rock shows have been replaced with DJs who attract a crowd that doesn't really look like they care much about the art of craft beer. No more meeting interesting people because we like to talk about porters. It's really hard to enjoy a good beer on a sunny day when you're yelling over DJ Khaled, and the beer isn't even that good. Hunter's Point Brewing doesn't seem to be vested in the original Speakeasy business model, design, or standards. It feels like they just wanted the location and equipment. My guess is that Speakeasy will ultimately just be a flavor at Hunter's Point Brewery. I would not be surprised if they eliminate it entirely. Like CBGBs, Speakeasy is now essentially a John Varvatos. I'm sure the new crew would consider that a compliment. Dee Dee Ramone would not.

Yelp
After surviving some rough financial times in 2017, the Speakeasy taproom at their Bayview production brewery is back in business. This was my first visit, though I've been enjoying their products in bottled form, and on others' taps, for years. The taproom is rather small and dark. I was the only patron for most of my early Saturday afternoon visit. TV tuned to pre-season football; almost inaudible background music. There's an upright piano, but I have no idea whether it's ever actually used. Distressed wood decor. Untappd electronic menu board. Food is limited to chips and such, but rotating food trucks show up on Friday and Saturday late afternoons and evenings. Some outdoor patio seating, including three rather decrepit picnic tables. Fairly small parking lot, and apparently no nearby street parking on Evans Avenue. Flights of four beers are $12. Brews sampled: - Pride Rye Pils. 4.8% ABV. Clear gold; slight white halo-and-patches head. Bready nose. Czech Pilsner malt and rye adjunct; the rye is not especially apparent. Lightly hopped, varieties not specified. A straight down the middle Pilsner. - Posthaste Pale Ale. 5.1%. Clear bright gold. Weak bready nose. Hop-forward, with grapefruit and pine notes; some cardboard in the finish. Hopped with Chinook and Meridian. - Helles to the Chief. 5.4%. Clear brass; slight white head. Minimal bready nose. Malty and slightly sweet, and. Pretzel note; unspecified West Coast hops. - Pitch Count Kviek Farmhouse IPA. 7.2%. A collaboration with the Loma Brewing Co. in Los Gatos. Slightly hazy dark gold; light white head. Tangy, musty nose. Deep, intense malt and citrus taste, with some saltiness in the finish.

Yelp
The San Francisco Brewery Tour...STOP #1 The owner, Mr. Blackcat, was kind of a punk and did a swell job of ignoring me and my bros...but his staff was nice enough. Yeah Mr. Blackcat...go crawl back into the hold you came out of! Being MLK weekend, I started off with the four black beers: Porter, Milk Stout, Imperial Stout, and I think a Black IPA? Am I drunk already? They were all tasty, though all kind of tasted the same? Also tried something called "Unbroken" and some of their Belgians...IT TASTES SO GOOD WHEN IT HITS YOUR LIPS! I'll stop shouting...I'm only about 20oz of beer in so far... Go home Chun...you're drunk!

Yelp
I would rate these beers above average for craft beers. And they better be good, because while people do live around here, for most this is way out of the way. But if you are going to go with the speakeasy motif, ditch the TV above the bar, it kills the vibe. You don't necessarily have to adopt the whole secret password stuff, but at least make the inside coherent by not having bright electronics.

Yelp
Props to Mike D. for showing me the way to tha Speakeasy. I heard about the Happy Hour at Speakeasy but it was Mike Deezy that actual brought a fan here. We came here for a little pre-gaming before hitting AT&T. Hell it's on the way, right. Dressed in my Giants gear, I naturally ordered the Fear the Beard Ale (or whatever it's called). Kinda Orangy, like I like it. Outside they have food vendors. Taquitos, Burritos, tacos and on the otherside, Good Foods Catering with the super good BBQ. I believe the two best match ups for beer tasting. Great crowd and that day they had a live band, too bad we missed the show - but we had priorities MAN - GO GIANTS!!!!

Yelp
This place pours delicious barrel aged dark beers that are worth the trek out there - it's in the Bay View district of SF - the *** of nowhere but there it is. Definitely use ride sharing to get there. Do keep in mind these dark beers are higher in ABV so be watch it if you plan to hit up another brewery - maybe get some food first. Just saying. Otherwise, the place itself is nice and darkish inside with comfortable stools and side rooms for larger groups. My only complaint, really, is where it is located. It's a great space to be sure but it is out there. Regardless...check it out.

Yelp
I've been spending a bit more time at Speakeasy and I've got to give an additional nod of respect to Jeff and Xavier. These guys make this place feel "like home." Further, they have extensive knowledge about the beer, and about beer in general. I love hearing about what I'm drinking, and these members of the team will lend an ear and offer their expertise, which is much appreciated. Speaking of beer.... I've noticed they frequently rotate the taps here. I was legitimately excited when I saw Metropolis was back on tap this week. I like knowing that there might be a surprise on the tap list when I walk in the door. I will continue to visit Speakeasy with frequency.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for quite some time. Finally had the chance to go and it was awesome. They have a huge outdoor area (had to sit there due to Covid). But when I went inside it looked so cool. Like an old school Speakeasy, would be awesome to do a tour. The only reason for 4 stars if that the beer hasn't changed with the times, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but with other Breweries like Laughing Monk so close I'd rather go there. All in all it was an awesome experience though. They also had 5 food trucks for some great food as well! Will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Such a cool place to go . The outside just felt like normal and the beer is legit and strong. There are different food options on different days but we had some birria tacos which were good. I'm looking forward to this place on the summer and the with the rules loosening a bit I bet this place is even better.

Yelp
Great beer and hang out spot in HP area. You can reserve a room for private event. Also there's plenty of parking which is a plus for SF!

Yelp
Wait, there is a brewery in Hunter's Point? I need to leave the comfort of the city? WORTH IT! Finally made the trip to Speakeasy Ales & Lagers this past Sunday and was completely blown away by the experience here. My fiancé and I decided to take a nice bike ride out to Speakeasy to see what all the buzz was about. Located south of the Dogpatch near the loading docks and old Piers Speakeasy is a bit off the beaten path. Luckily, we came on an afternoon when they were holding a cool fundraiser and we were greeted at the front gates with blasting jazz music, people dressed up in 1920s style costumes, an outdoor magic show, oh and a bounce house! I was instantly hooked. From the moment we rode up the property the staff here was out of this world friendly. The door guy greeted us and said we could safely lock up our bikes by the entrance of the brewpub and even suggested that they would be safe overnight (if we indulged in one too many). The property of the brewpub is quite large, a massive outdoor space with picnic tables, high tops and some corn hole to keep you occupied while sipping on some great beers. Inside, this spot has a truly authentic 'speakeasy' decor. Dimly lit bar with old wood paneling and some mix-matched vintage chairs and couches to lounge in. The bar itself is quite small, only about 8 seats so get there early if you want to snag a table. The bartenders inside were incredibly friendly, immediately handing us menus, answering any questions we had about various beer styles and all chatting/having a good time at work. I always like to see bartenders that actually look like they enjoy their job and this group of guys had a smile on their face all day, joking, chatting and having small talk with all the customers in the bar during the day. For beers we had the Vendetta IPA ($6), Blind Tiger Imperial IPA ($6), Tallulah Extra Pale Ale ($5), and Double Daddy DIPA ($5). All were fantastic. Speakeasy has a rotating selection of about 10+ drafts and you can purchase a handful of their limited release bottles at the tap room to take home and enjoy. Speakeasy also has a shuttle service on Friday of Giants games (with proof of ticket) you can grab some (more affordable) local beers before headed to the game in the complimentary shuttle. Also, they are part of the SF Brewers Guild Beer Shuttle - every third Wednesday the free shuttle takes you to a handful of local breweries including hosting events like meet the brew maker, etc. A truly enjoyable experience at this gem of a tap room this weekend. Speakeasy has quickly become my new favorite brewery in the area and I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Speakeasy, the first beer that made me fall in love with beer. Before that I was a naive and stupid girl who drank Heineken because that's what Asians usually bring to parties. I was not living until Big Daddy came into my life. Ever since that, Speakeasy has been my favorite brewery. Someone took me here for my first visit as a surprise and from then, I fell more in love with the brand. The bar, though small, is quite nice to chat with new people who love the beer as well. There's awesome decor. I wouldn't really recommend this place as a "first date" place, save this for a few dates in. Two communal-like room or for big groups then only a few seats in the bar area, but the outdoors area is open when there's an event! I really like the option of having tasters. 5 tasters for $7 or so. Good way to taste all those beers you're on the fence about buying a 6pack/giant bottle over. There are a few snacks you can order, I haven't tried any yet, except a sample of the pretzel once. They also sell merchandise! If it's your first time, no matter what beers you choose as your tasters, choose Metropolis as one of them.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in this part of town. The workers and basically everyone there are always very friendly. Just a really great vibe. Very dark in there but nicely decorated. They offer a nice selection of beers. Usually I just order the big daddy or the double daddy IPA. Those two are probably my favorite ones. They also have beers for purchase and even refills in growlers. There's also outdoor seating and games that people can play. Simply a really great place to hang out with large and small groups.

Yelp
There beers are kinda like the neighborhood the brewery is in. Soulful, strong, big bold flavors just a real quality product. I had some seasonal pumpkin ale and some ipa's. There was a hot dog cart if you were hungry. Came in for their Friday happy hour, dollar off (already great prices of their beer). Parking was plentiful and pretty easy. It's more in the industrial part of Bayview so you don't have to worry about any riff raff hanging out on the corner. The taproom isn't that big and since there was a warriors game it got crowded quick. The only women there were the bartenders so it was a major d.....ude fest. I mean, I went to the only all boys high school in the city so I know how that goes. Most of my friends then were from the Mission/Vis Valley/Excelsior/Cow Palace area (not exactly the Marina) so I'm used to kinda hoodish crowds. Here the crowd just wasn't my vibe, some were even more hoodish and some.... yeah just not really my crowd. Speakeasy is kinda in the middle of nowhere and more of a destination, you can't really barhop/pubcrawl from it but I might return to do a brewery tour or when they have live music in the summer.

Yelp
Glad to see the Taproom is up and running again. I sincerely hope that they can make it work this time around because they have a great space + the beers are well made Overall Thoughts Keep pouring out the great beers!

Yelp
My first time visiting the brewery and I loved it! We showed up around 430 on Friday afternoon. It was already busy but we were able to snag a seat in the corner at the bar. The selection of beers were awesome! And the environment was top notch. It was the brewmasters last day so the celebration all night was continuous with shots flowing. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Probably some of the nicest people ever. Didn't get thrown off as the crowd kept coming. Handled everything very well. My favorite was Molly! She was funny, filled up our drinks when we were getting low and had this attitude about her that everyone loved. Even the security guard outside was great. We were one of the last to leave and car was parked solo, he made sure to check on it and make sure it didn't get broken into. Two thumbs up for looking out bro!

Yelp
Came here twice. Once was several years ago when it first opened and we were able to drink and walk through the actual distillery area and there were food trucks outside. Fun times! Second time was much more recent and was still a great time. The actual bar/lounge area was dimly lit and it wasn't overly crowded for a Saturday night. Easy to find a table, easy to find parking. It's great! And, there are board and card games. We ended up playing Cards Against Humanity and that was fun. We stayed for almost 3 hours, drinking and playing. It was nice and chill. Though, to be honest, it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. At least for now. So if you're going for a beer at Speakeasy, you're basically *really* going for *several* beers at Speakeasy. Fun space. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I was recently fortunate to stop here for my first-time at a Yelp Elite event. I had always wanted to check it out, but being on Evans Ave it's not exactly a place I walk by on a regular basis. So glad I went to this event, as it exposed to me a super friendly staff and delicious selection of beers you can't always find at your local haunt. I tried some more common brews I had been holding off on (Prohibition and Double Daddy) but also some varieties I wouldn't normally go for. Everything was great and I came out with a pleasant buzz after the fact. I may not be able to make it over here on a regular basis, but will definitely bring friends this way if they are beer aficionados.

Yelp
This is a really cool place to get beers! Very positive and fast paced environment. Went on a Saturday and it was packed! They have a lot of corn-hole games set up outside, and there is a lot of seating inside. The beer here is great! The blood orange one was super tasty :) we also got a pretzel, which was good but it wasn't warm like I thought it would be. If you want mustard you have to buy a whole jar of it too-$5(but it's made with there beer in it- and looks pretty yummy). Love the little black cat that was wandering around!! They also have parking!! Thank god! I hate dealing with street parking.
