I do like the cheerful and diner-esque layout of this restaurant with the open kitchen on one end and the bar on the other. Service is friendly and efficient. As for the food, it’s quite authentic. I went for as simple a Thai dish as you can get, the Pad Kra Pow (stir fried mince beef with Thai basil) with rice, a fried egg, and a side of morning glory. Now, it was all cooked to a good standard with a fairly good spice level (not ‘Thai spicy’ Mark Weins levels of spicy but ok) but the kra pow was also very salty. It had me consuming an entire bottle of water to myself. Finally, the price. Now, ask yourself, £40 for what is essentially cheap street food that’ll cost you £2 in Thailand… is that good value for money? No, not really. I know everything is more expensive in England, what with rents and wages, but even when all that is taken into consideration, it’s a bit spendy isn’t it?
