The word spicy scares me so when a restaurant has the word spicy in it, the food must be spicy.

Upon entering, it does take you into a different vibe, they make it look like a village/setting in China... it is a tad cramped inside to say the least and it was packed on a Saturday evening. They do have a scan wait list, so all you have to do is go in, scan and do your thing and they'll text you when your table is ready.. there is a 10 min window to reply/return...

Wooden tables and wooden chairs... the menu isn't big because it doesn't list all the items, it's mainly for the premium items. It is basically self serve. They have 4 big fridges filled with food on skewers. Each skewer holds one piece, except maybe for some veggies...
.
We didn't get any of their (signature) spicy broths. We got the tomato and pork bone. Haidilau has the best tomato broth, but this one may be better... it is $19.99 for the broth (i believe it's the same price for 1 or split pot) and $1.99 per person for the sauce bar.
.
It was fun. It's basically your typical hotpot concept except it's skewers and the food doesn't easily get lost in the broth. I like how you don't have to commit to a platter of 6 fish balls, whereas I can just have 2...

The meat skewers are different. For the thinly sliced meats, they are wrapped around some veggies. Because they are thin, they can't put it on a skewer. They were wrapped around cilantro and green beans. Sounds weird, I know. But do get the marbled beef, it was the best IMO...
.
They have lots of (spicy) marinated meats, liver (yum), intestines (yum), chicken skin, chicken feet, pork, beef, endless...
.
It does get a little crowded since the food needs to be kept in the fridge, it is non stop opening and closing and bumping/waiting for others...
.
While it's $.60 a skewer, it creeps up and before we know was over $150 for the 2 of us... we also had drinks
