Came here for a night out with a coworker and the environment was very cozy and it was easy to have a good conversation. The bartender was great and made each drink perfect! This place is definitely in my rotation for nice places to grab a good drink after a long day of work! Definitely check them out!

Wonderful place, our bartender was very kind and explained some more information on the menu for us. We did not feel like we were judged for asking questions. For 2 drinks it ranged about $45

Rude bartender, snobby attitude. Fake speakeasy. Went here last night for a pre-Life & Trust show drink, empty bar, was struck by how rude the bartender was, refused to accommodate a friend joining us, saying it would cost $32 minimum per person to add him. We asked if we can just split the party into two discrete tables, he said it would still be a $32 per head minimum, failed the graciousness and discretion. Our drinks were perfectly average and unbalanced. Worth skipping.

Stopped in for a quick cocktails before a play, and they cocktails were so good we went back after the play. Cool relaxed vibe, friendly service and good music. If you want to chill somewhere with excellent cocktails (thanks to competent bartenders), this place is a must visit.

Really enjoyed this local bar! They’ve got tasty drinks and quick service from kind bartenders. Love all the dark alcohol forward drinks, so many bars neglect to give these the attention they deserve. Look for the googly eyes hidden around the bar!

Amazing quality drinks with exquisite flavors! I don’t remember the name of the raspberry drink but the butterscotch espresso martini was divine. On the pricey side but a cozy and intimate place to grab a quick drink.

This is by far my favorite coffee shop and I love to go here and work. The coffee is excellent, although be warned they do not have decaf. They have alternate milks because I'm definitely an oat milk fan and they have an amazing vegan chocolate chip cookie that is to die for.

A really cozy dark coffee shop with cocktails. The service is like a bar. Very clean restrooms. Perfect atmosphere for the coffee/cocktail theme.

Brought a friend here who was visiting from out of town. She was looking for a true NY cocktail experience, and I immediately knew this would give her that upscale NYC cocktail bar vibe while still being a bit more "low key." Our cocktails were delicious, music was on point, service didn't feel rushed at all. I was feeling adventurous and asked for a boozy gin-based cocktail.. loved it! My friend really enjoyed her drink as well. At $19 per cocktail, it's not the cheapest in the area, but also not the priciest either. Would absolutely recommend Split Eights to anyone looking for craft cocktails in the area.

I had previously patronized this bar on a solo trip to NY from Chicago. This trip, I brought my team in for a happy hour. When we entered we were told that the policy was that groups of six or more would have to purchase a minimum of two cocktails. That's the policy and I can respect their policy, however, my team members raised the point that they did not want to have two drinks as we are on a work trip. Makes sense. It was 6pm on a Tuesday. The bar was completely empty. Not one patron. Just us. The bartender allowed us to leave. I'm also a bar owner in Chicago (which is why I gave 3stars - not trying to hurt anyone's business). I'd feel a way if one of my employees allowed 11 paying customers to leave when we did not have business at any point. At $16/cocktail, the 11 cocktails might have paid the bartenders hourly for the entire night. I'd also be concerned about the bartenders reasoning ability as they also allowed a tip to walk out the door. Perhaps there is some rationale for the policy in this situation that I don't see but it didn't make sense for me. We left and went to another bar on principle and ended up still spending the same amount of money as we would have if we had purchased two drinks per person here.

Love this cozy spot. I've not been here during daytime yet but few times at night for cocktails. I used to love their nori/soy cocktail that's no longer on the menu, wish they could bring it back! Bartenders are fun, chatty, friendly, making the experience more fun

I don't associate anything cool with FiDi, but this cocktail bar is as cool as any spot you'd find in the East Village, with expertly made drinks, sleek decor, and partnerships with trendy businesses like Morgenstern's and Momofuku. While a place like this could probably command a full crowd and waitlists in another neighborhood, probably due to its location its quite easy to breeze on in, even as a large group. We had drinks made with pebble ice, drinks with egg whites, egg yolks, and even vadouvan curry. 3 out of 4 of our drinks were excellent, with one dud, but I'll take that ratio-- especially since the vibes were on point. My only regret is not trying one of their cocktail ice cream treats that is part of their Morgenstern's collab. Split Eights is also a coffee shop by day, so if their wifi is strong this would be a great place to post up for work on a Friday afternoon and transition easily to happy hour.

Came here for a nightcap. Nice, clean space and friendly staff. I had wine, but I think my hubs had cocktails? We also shared olives. It was a nice ending to our evening!

We loved this place! So cute and cozy with warm lighting. The cocktails are fantastic at night. We had a yummy drink with their homemade butterscotch. We sat at the bar and service was fast and polite.

I grabbed a few drinks at Split Eights with a few coworkers on a Thursday afternoon. We were a party of 5, but only 3 of us were there to grab the table. They sat is in the corner booth in the back and then very nicely moved us upstairs when our party turned into 6. For my first drink, I had an Espresso Martini. It's not on the evening drinks menu, but they do have espresso prepared for it. You can also order drinks that are not on the menu - if they have the ingredients, they're happy to make it for you. All drinks are $18. The Espresso Martini was very good and I actually really want to come back during the day to have a cup of coffee. For my second drink, I had a Whiskey Sour. I know, I'm got a cocktail place, I should try one of their signature cocktails, but I just couldn't make up my mind so I just went with something I knew. It was fab. By the end of the night, we were only 3. They brought over a small parting drink, which was so nice of them. Honestly, service here is phenomenal and we were so well taken care of. Everyone was so nice, and so lovely. I'm so glad there's a great spot in the area for drinks that isn't an old Revolutionary War bar filled with finance bros.

My nephew took my friend and I for a drink to his favorite bar Split Eights for a late night drink. We visited on Wednesday, 10/4/23. It was a quiet dimly lit place where it is easy to socialize after work or if you are just visiting in town like us. The service is fast, the drinks also hit the spot. I enjoyed the Creole Daquiri composed of aged rum, mezcal, lime, chorizo, and pomegranate. It was smooth to the taste. My nephew ordered the Tompkins Square that incorporated rye, kirsch, Maurin Quina, Benedictine, and allspice. I tried it and it had a smokiness to it. Overall, we enjoyed our late night spirits at Split Eights. It is a great bar to visit if you are ever in the area.

I cannot express how much I LOVE this place. My boyfriend and I were visiting the city, and just happened to stop by. We ended up loving it so much we stopped by an additional 2 times during our 3 day stay in NY. The service was top notch, and the cocktails were both delicious and complex. We will be coming again during our next trip to NYC.

A nice spot that a date took me on not that long ago. Cocktails were innovative and quite fun. I like that this space offers both cocktails in the evening and coffee during the day. It's also conveniently close to the subway. It feels quite empty in here and new? I say that in the sense of I feel like they have an identity but are flying under the radar. Interesting. A cool spot to check out. 4/5

Split Eights definitely surprised me. In an area where most don't expect cool cocktail bars, Split Eights clearly reigns supreme. I came in as a party of two at about 7:30 on a Friday and luckily didn't have to wait for a few spots at the bar. We tried four drinks, all were great, but the Butterscotch Flip, in particular, was my favorite. In a world saturated in espresso martinis, we finally have a unique alternative that actually rivals even the best of the best in tastiness. Highly recommend this one. The bartenders, too, were cool - chatting it up with regulars while they created their concoctions and definitely giving more friendly vibes than a lot of the bartenders in trendier neighborhoods. Finally, this spot is a coffee shop during the day, too, so I'm excited to pop in if I ever find myself in this area during sunlight hours. With both day and night covered under just one roof, this is definitely a gem and a spot I'm hoping to visit more frequently soon.

We popped in the other night & it's a cozy space with great tasting cocktails & friendly staff! The female bartender definitely knew what she was doing, the butterscotch drink was so unique, indulgent,& stole the show. I can't wait to try the rest of their menu!

Fantastic cocktail bar! Came across this hidden gem on our last NYC visit. We had the upstairs to ourselves and it made for a great intimate setting. The drinks were excellent and on par with some of the best cocktail bars in NYC. The only thing to note is that they do not have a kitchen so there is no real food menu. But come for the drinks!

Absolutely amazing cocktails at this little spot in FiDi. They have an ever-changing menu of delightfully unique cocktails with exotic ingredients. Bartenders are friendly and skillful, they are quick with bringing water although they can get a bit overworked when it's full. Their espresso martini was delightful, as expected from a coffee and cocktail bar. The indoor seating space is relatively comfortable even though the space is small.

Cozy laid back cocktails place. Not crowded at all when I went. Dim and intimate, but also ok for groups. Neighborhood bar vibe. Delicious drinks - not too strong. Lots that I wanted to try from the menu. A bit under the radar which is always a good thing in a bar according to me. Coffee place during the day. Like Kobrick.

Nice quiet place in FiDi for an afterwork or evening cocktail. Intimate setup with a great staff, and a good mixologist. Can make a great Negroni with bespoke vermouth! Hidden, but lovely.

Nice cocktail selection. Enjoyed the Big Trouble and the Spa 88 Gibson. The former was fine but I didn't appreciate the heaping amount of mini ice balls. Reminds me of drinks at resorts where there's very little actual booze. Spa 88 was better presentation wise. Did not appreciate the bearded bartender dropping loud F bombs along with his buddies who came in for drinks.

This is a delicious cocktail bar in the financial district. Despite their tantalizing menu, I always end up just ordering an old fashioned which is always exquisitely made. This is a great place to catch up with friends, as it is never too loud and has a cozy feel. They also have an ice cream sandwich menu that pairs with their cocktails which is a nice treat. Split Eights is definitely a hidden gem in the Financial District, and it pains me to share it with others!

A colleague suggested this place after grabbing beers on Stone Street and I'm so happy he put us on to it. They do coffee in the AM and cocktails in the PM. I think I've walked by this place a couple of times and didn't even notice, it's very discrete and you wouldn't know by just the outside that they have such beautiful and tasty cocktails inside. Highly recommend! I've been raving about it since and definitely plan on returning.

Was looking for bars in the area and ended up coming here late on a Thursday night. The bar had a wonderful and cozy atmosphere; two floors with seats/tables and a bar area. The bartenders were very attentive and easy to make conversation with. In terms of the drinks, there's a nice list of unique cocktail blends. You also have the option of having the bartender make a drink for you after you give them your preferences. I went with the bartender's choice and Michael made a wonderful rum based drink. Great bar for a date night or with friends if you want a nice and upscale atmosphere without breaking your wallet. (Drinks are around the standard NY price) I look forward to coming back here soon!

Been to Split Eight a few times now (both for coffee as well as cocktails), and have always had a pleasant experience. The bartenders are knowledgeable and the cocktails and coffee are delicious! Highly recommend the espresso martini there as well as tuxedo no 2

Loved this spot for cocktails with friends. The Lonely bird was very good and loved the pebbled ice. The other cocktails were also quite good. There was one that had Thai chili and it was a great spice.

As a coffee bar by day and a cocktail bar by night, this is a cool spot in an area that is generally not known for cool spots! It wasn't crowded at all at 9pm on a Friday, so we had our choice of seating at the bar or a table. The place has a low-lit, elegant but casual ambiance. The cocktail menu is innovative and unique, which suggests that the bartenders know what they are doing! For this reason, I placed my trust in them and ordered the bartender's choice. They will ask you a few questions about your tastes, such as what kind of liquor you like and if there is anything you don't like. Feel free to give them as much or as little guidance! I asked for a refreshing, layered cocktail that was not spirit-forward. I ended up being very happy with both of my bartender's choice cocktails!

5++++ Stars. We hosted a 10 person surprise birthday party at Split Eights and they went so far above and beyond to make it a special evening. The owners and staff are so kind and helpful- something that isn't always the case in NYC and I really appreciate it when you come across businesses like this one. And on top of all that, they have a beautiful cozy-modern aesthetic and the very best espresso martini in Manhattan.

Food: ordered two cocktails here with a group of my girl friends and we all enjoyed our cocktails! The flavors were all fairly unique and the garnishment was very detailed. I had the Clover Club (gin and egg whites are my favorite) along with ZZs iced coffee. I thoroughly enjoyed my drinks and would definitely come back here again if I'm around the area. Cost: the cocktails were all $16 each isn't the most wallet friendly but still fairly decent for the city. Environment: the inside was very cozy feeling. The place also seemed to have an upstairs however I have not gone up to check, I would just see the waitress bring up drinks. Service: sat along the bar with my friends and the bartender was very attentive. Also all the staff here worked very well together- our empty glasses would be cleared promptly and the nice team work between them was noticed. Uniqueness: Found this place on a whim and I'm glad I did! Originally chose this place because the establishment offered coffee but once I arrived I realized they did coffee in the mornings and cocktails in the evening. Can't wait to come back here to try their coffee too!

The waiter/server was rude and questioned my tip once I paid. We noticed several people left once they entered and were left waiting because the waiter didn't come back to seat them. He basically was about to tell us to leave but we were already up and leaving. The drinks were not great.

Boy do I try to find a great lounge but this isn't it. We were greeted nicely at the entrance given a choice between a banquette or sit at the bar we chose the bar.. had very tiny poors and they were a cup of stirs in front of me so I took one later to be scolded by the bartender saying I can't grab a stir for sanitary reasons. Although he had no problem grabbing out of the same cup. Then insult after injury we decided to move from the bar to the banquet that we were offered earlier only for the woman to come over and say they needed it for a bigger party at 11:30 at night when obviously no one else is walking into the place. I don't think we could've been insulted anymore if they tried. Maybe they should stick to a coffee shop.

Nice vibe but the drinks are not great. Menu sounded really fun, I love an after dinner coffee drink. But they were not good. Too bad.

Another hidden gem. My friend found this place when we were looking for somewhere to pop in before a movie that was relatively close by. Coffee shop by day, cocktail lounge at night. Cozy, intimate, a low murmur of conversation- no one is posturing here, and the air is relaxed. Short counter, well organized and immaculate, with curated nook accent beyond that lend to the feel that a close a friend's invited you into a corner of their apartment turned suave wet bar. Service is swift, warm, but not cloying. Haven't been on a weekend as yet to know if the vibe remains the same, but this is a good midweek stop in for a solid cocktail.

Love the energy of this place! Really great vibes, super clean and well organized. I love the decor! I came in the middle of a hot day to grab one of their ice cream cocktail things. Definitely on the pricier side ($8) for an ice cream popsicle, but its NYC in Financial District so not really that surprising. The staff was really nice and helpful and made you feel comfortable and happy to be there. I got the espresso martini ice cream popsicle and my friend got the cassis & cream. Both were delicious and rich and creamy. It didn't really taste or feel like there was any alcohol in them tbh, but I didn't necessarily get it for that reason so I wasn't upset about that. I'll have to come back here sometime when the cocktail bar opens up!

A perfect place to start or end your evening. We were staying in the financial district which isn't exactly a hub of activity once the workday concludes but it is a great place to hop on a subway to anywhere in the city. My wife and I ended up at Split Eights to grab a cocktail before we ventured out into Brooklyn for dinner. A great example of keeping it simple. There is a bar and couple tables on the first floor and then a set of stairs up to a little balcony with a few more tables. Its a low lit room with a timeless woodgrain bar with black, white, and blue accents. We pulled up a seat at the bar and had a pair of wonderful cocktails and some friendly banter with our bartender. I actually ended up here a couple nights later with a friend for a night cap and had a similarly delightful experience. The best part had to be ordering the bartenders choice - I simply stated that I enjoyed spirit forward cocktails, typically with a rye whiskey or bourbon and I was served a "filthy rich" which I had never heard of before but it was an amazing drink to end the night.

It's a hidden gem and very romantic. I came here for pastries and they are very good and fresh. I strongly recommend.

Cocktails are decent, what I enjoy is the subtle broooklyn-style small bar nestled into a corner that you don't know is there unless you know it. Good nightcap kind of place in FiDi, not too many of these around here!

Came here for coffee during lunch time with a coworker. Ambience is great. Met the owner. Very friendly and super sweet. The coffee was good and the drinks are made well. Had a fun lunch. Highly recommend trying here for drinks or just coffee. The atmosphere has a intimate feeling. The decoration is very cute and woody.

This is the perfect place to get a drink after work or catch up with an old friend or coworker. It's quiet, relaxed -- you can actually have a full conversation and hear each other. The cocktail menu is excellent. I had the Arsenic & Old Lace (gin-based with absinthe), and it was exactly my taste. Clean and strong. My friend got the Clover Club, which seems to be a popular choice. It's a very pretty drink, foamy (egg whites) and raspberry red, with a star anise on top. It's great if you like your cocktails on the sweeter side. The place is bigger than it looks. There's upstairs seating, which I think can accommodate larger parties (a group of my coworkers came here once), but downstairs it's mostly just the bar and tables for two.

Love this new bar in my neighborhood! It feels fancy but still casual, like you could come for a meeting over drinks or just drop in for happy hour with friends. They have a thoughtful and well-curated cocktail list, a little something for everyone. my absolute favorite thing to do here is to order the "bartender's choice." You tell your bartender what you're in the mood for and they will make you something totally original! This is perfect for us because I tend to like more spirit forward, dark liquor cocktails while my husband loves bright, tangy rum drinks. We have loved every cocktail we've ordered here! I especially suggest the butterscotch flip if you are stopping in for a nightcap, its rich and velvety but not too heavy, really a cool drink! We love stopping in for a couple drinks and olives or the cucumber salad before heading out for the night. It's also a coffee bar during the day but I haven't been in for coffee yet, I'm sure I'll be there for a latte someday soon!

Great cocktail bar in Fidi area, coffee shop in the morning and then cocktails later in the day til 2 am. Stopped by here a couple of times after work with colleagues and had a great time! Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area and need a chill place to unwind by yourself or with a group!

I stumbled across this bar and decided to stop in. Billy and Jess were there the evening and we got to kick it over their great drinks! I ordered a paper plane and cock n bull. Their glasses were cool af! The drinks were amazing! Their spirits selection were really good to. I loved the simplicity of the layout, and the down to earth vibe of the space. I will return back for Billy's good drinks! Billy is the man! Jess is cool as hell too! Great convos over cold drinks on a Wednesday, can't go wrong!

This place has so much potential however the bartenders are so rude. They have the weirdest attitude and don't make you feel welcomed at all.

Amazing place with beautiful (and tasty!) drinks. Came here on a Thursday night with a couple of my friends - I saw this place opened up recently and wanted to check it out. What a pleasant surprise. The service was great and our servers were all extremely friendly and nice. The drinks were phenomenal. You could tell everything was very carefully thought through, from the drink itself to the cup that came with each drink. The drink that really stood out to us was the Sage Old Buck - it had a beautiful balance of flavors and I loved the hint of vanilla that was both distinct but also complimentary to everything else. And the cup holding it was beautiful! We ended up having a lively chat with our table neighbors who also got the drink about how beautiful the cup was! My friends and I left the bar pleasantly buzzed and happy from our great experience. I really hope more people can give this place a try - they really deserve all the hype and buzz Yelp can give them! For anyone looking for a nice time to sit with friends and enjoy some good drinks and good company, I highly recommend Split Eights.

Cozy place..did nit expect it to have good baked goods given it is mostly a bar/cocktail place, but it is always nice to be pleasantly surprised. It seems like a chill place to go after work for drinks.

Tucked away on a quiet side street, this is one of the most beautiful small cafes in Manhattan. The owner is really kind and welcoming and the croissants are ah-mazing. I love the calm, luxe atmosphere and dark color palate. After 4pm it flips to a craft cocktail bar with unbeatable drinks.

Coffee and cocktails are both perfect, in a wonderful and quiet environment. Fast wifi makes working from the coffee shop easy by day. By night you'll be ready to sample from a perfectly curated menu of traditional and slightly less traditional cocktails, expertly mixed by a team that is clearly not new to the scene.
